We chose this hotel as the secure parking is first class. Unfortunately in this very old town exsists this hotel of a similar description. The public areas have had investment but the rest is very much like 'visiting your 90 year old aunts house.

This hotel is really great. It’s about a five min walk from the train station and very close to the cathedral. No AC but I had a fan and the window opened. Breakfast is very good. It would have been helpful if the do not disturb sign was on the door knob instead of the desk. I could not find it and enthusiastic housekeepers just opened the door a couple times. Would stay again.

Good as long as everyone is quiet

Great location, nice hotel unless you want to sleep, at least when there is a party going on. Walls are very thin. Carryover from a wedding party was noisy well past 3 in the morning. We asked to move to a different room but they said they would handle it. Normal talking in adjacent room comes right through the walls.
Bathroom was a bit small and parking was quite limited. They directed us to a local public parking garage which worked fine.
View of the cathedral was awesome.

The restaurant snd bar area were well appointed, but our room left a lot to be desired. It was clean, but I wouldn’t put kids on the rug, that didn’t come off as being clean. Smallest shower in the world. Tough for a big guy. Same with the lift, one person one suitcase. Parking was a real pain, and no area designated to drop off bags or easy parking. Get what you pay for.

The inside of the hotel and bedrooms are beautifully decorated! Front desk employees were very nice. The hotel is right in the center of Chartres. The bathrooms were clean yet a bit outdated. Our neighbors and I could hear extremely loud pipe sounds coming from our shared bathroom walls all night--I swear those things were shrieking. Besides that it was an awesome hotel.

Fabulous location and a very cool hotel. The room was lovely but the bathroom was quirky and not ideal with only a bath and no shower curtain or window blind. Bed was incredibly comfortable.

Hard to get into the hotel as there was no drop off near the entrance. Entrance was on a busy street and not clearly marked. Elevator was so small it only fit one person and maybe two bags at a time. Smallest elevator I have ever seen—- maybe one meter by one meter in size?

Small rooms and a very small lift. But at least it has a lift. Lovely but very expensive bar with the smallest amount of pastis in a glass I have ever seen. Restaurant served excellent food .

A modern but charming hotel with excellent facilities. The staff were wonderful, always smiling and helpful. The hotel is situated just a two minute walk from the cathedral and all town centre shops and restaurants.
The hotel restaurant was pleasant and the food and service superb. A good breakfast was available each morning in the bar area.
Parking was difficult, or expensive if using the cathedral car park but the hotel has a few private reserved spaces in a car park just 50m away which can be used, if available, for a reasonable daily charge.

Lovely staff. Room was comfortable if warm. Breakfast was good. Self parking in hotel lot was convenient. We stayed in the regular sized room, not the superior. There was no shower curtain and the shower nozzle was inside a tub. I think people with mobility issues could have trouble with this. Extremely convenient location for viewing the historic old town. 5 Minute Walk to Cathedral.

he hotel is on the spot. Chartres cathedral is a short walk from the hotel. We only stayed one night. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. We did not experience the breakfast. Safe and secure garaged parking for our motorbike.

The staff were excellent and greatly helpful. The hotel is in a great position... central but not noisy. Value for money?..I would rate it very highly. The bar and the restaurant are excellent and handsomely decorated. If you are in any way impaired the stairs and corridors are narrow and the lift is really only a one person lift. The available parking, although not on site , is very close by ,affordable and secure. Overall we would be happy to book again.

Very nice hotel within easy walking distance of the Cathedral. Parking is close by. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Clean and secure rooms. Maintenance is lacking...paint was peeling in the bathroom; tub drain had been broken so that the tub could not hold water. No shower.

Perfect evening in Chartres

Perfect location to the cathedral which you can see from hotel. Friendly staff, perfect breakfast. We had a room booked for 3 but we ended up being 4 so had a suite for no extra charge. Great bar . They told us about the light show on the cathedral that started at 10.30 pm which we did not know about prior. It was spectacular!!

A nice hotel with a location near and view of the great Chartres cathedral. The hotel has no parking but there is a paid public parking area nearby. The hotel staff steered us to a little \"train\" that goes around the town at night taking in all of the sites that are specially illuminated, many with artistic animations The cathedral is a historic wonder during the day and an amazing canvas at night, with a son et kumiere presentation on its face.

Lovely place to stay in Chartres

This hotel is a comfortable and well located place to stay in Chartres. In sight of the cathedral, it's only a stones' throw from the train station. As a solo traveler, I found it safe and an easy place from which to navigate. The light show on the cathedral was visible from windows of upper floors.

We stayed four nights at the Boeuf Couronne. We had a premium room with an amazing view across to Chartres Cathedral. The hotel was very comfortable and clean and in a good location for exploring the old town although rather noisy with traffic nearby. The breakfasts were good with fresh croissants and fruit etc - we didn't use the hotel restaurant as there are so many places to eat in Chartres. Staff were very friendly.

Good value but bedroom disappointing.

We gave the service a good rating because the staff were pleasant. But the hotel closed on spring bank holiday Monday forcing us to transfer to another hotel 50 yards away in a less good location. Bedroom cramped and shabby but the price for the stay was very reasonable.

Stayed one night to explore Chartres Cathedral and couldn't have been happier with my stay. The hotel was a short walk from the train station and easy to find. The front desk staff were very helpful, from arranging for dinner to helping with the very European elevator (!) to storing my luggage the next morning. The location of the hotel couldn't be more convenient to the Chartres Cathedral, the main attraction in town. And the view of the Cathedral from the hotel is magnificent! Make sure to ask for a room that faces it! But even if not, you can still sit in the bar or have lunch or dinner in the restaurant and enjoy the same beautiful view. The hotel is just a tad worn, but clean everywhere and with loads of charm. This is not a chain hotel! And don't forget to enjoy breakfast in the bar (buffet-style) and lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Delicious food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere, with locals joining you because it's their favorite place! Very grateful for the chef, who accommodated my gluten-free needs with grace. Highly recommend this hotel!

Mais demande certaines améliorations.
Chambre correcte avec une vue magnifique sur la cathédrale. Mais avec une moquette qui a vécu tachée à plusieurs endroits, salle de bain très petite dont une douche fermée avec un rideau en tissu qui ce colle dans votre dos ce qui n’est pas très hygiénique. Chauffage ancien a du mal à chauffer. Lorsque je suis arrivée dans la chambre celui-ci était totalement éteint avec une température extérieure à 8 degres. Autant vous dire que cela a mis beaucoup de temps à chauffer, et pas de radiateur d’appoint pour chauffer la chambre. Le restaurant est très joli, mais le service laisse un peu à désirer. Il faut réclamer le pain car il n’arrive pas automatiquement sur les tables. Et après une mésaventure avec un condiment lié à une erreur de l’un des serveurs mon Plat a du repartir en cuisine pour ensuite revenir avec un poisson et une sauce tiède.
Le surplus de sauce ne reste pas sur la table et repart en cuisine ce qui est dommage car très bonne, même un restaurant étoilé laisse la sauce des plats.
Assiette de fromage quelconque et sans caractère qui mérite également d’être revue et si je peux me permettre une remarque si vous souhaitez faire comme les grands restaurants, donner un ordre à vos fromages en mettant du moins forts au plus forts, surtout que vous l’aviez agrémenté de petites compotes.
Par contre très agréable bar avec une ambiance très cosi avec un personnel très agréable

Je pense que c'est pour la première fois que je vais dire mal d'un établissement. Mais mon séjour à Chartres faisait partie d'un parcours des cathédrales et j'ai pu le comparer avec les hôtels, moins chers, à Laon, Rouen et Amiens.
Un hôtel et plus un restaurant et un bar. En rentrant après 23h vous croisez à la réception des clients des deux salles qui circulent dans le couloir, mais pas une seule personne derrière le comptoir. N'importe qui peut monter à l'étage avec les chambres.
D'autre part la salle de douche est minuscule et dégage les mauvaises odeurs (en tout cas dans ma chambre).
Enfin un hôtel qui est \"un choix excellent où séjourner\" (citation sur la page de hotels.com) ne propose ni la climatisation (OK, on est au nord) ni même la ventilation alors que la température dehors dépasse largement 30C.
Pour terminer sur une note positive : l'hôtel est très bien placé - à quelques minutes de la cathédrale et de la gare SNCF

Würde ein anderes Hotel suchen

Wir haben bessere Unterkunft gehabt mit weniger Sternen, das Zimmer ist klein und mit Rollstuhl nicht machbar, schon weil der Lift ganz klein ist. Wenn sie wenig essen möchten für viel Geld, können sie im Hotel essen, ansonsten gibt es vor Ort genug Möglichkeiten.

Hotel in centro città a pochi passi dalla celebre cattedrale. L'albergo è pulito e ben arredato il stile retrò. Personalmente preferisco il moderno, ma è solo una questione di gusto. Il bagno è essenziale e se ci fosse solo la doccia al posto del soffione appeso, sarebbe più comodo.

Adresse parfaite pour visiter Chartres

Petite virée de 24 heures pour voir les éclairages somptueux sur la cathédrale, Le Boeuf Couronné, à 5 minutes à pied de la gare, est l'endroit parfait pour dormir. On peut même voir la cathédrale depuis son lit dans certaines chambres. Accueil chaleureux, lits confortables, bon buffet petit-déjeuner et bar ouvert tard pour une collation en fin de soirée. Chambres et salle-de-bains un peu petites, mais tout à fait confortables et correctes.

Si vous avez le sommeil léger , à fuir!!!
L’impression d’avoir dormi sur la route avec en prime mon voisin dans la chambre !!! Je l’ai entendu au téléphone, devant sa télé et ronfler toute la nuit. A 2h du matin, j’ai souhaité joindre l’accueil pour changer de chambre mais le téléphone était factice et non fonctionnel avec de toute façon aucun répertoire d’appel !

Pas de possibilité de se faire livrer en chambre (service adapté surtout avec les histoires de pass sanitaire )

Sinon hôtel magnifique ! Dommage
