We had great experiences at other Valamar hotels but this one was a big disappointment.

During our stay, there was construction work that started at 7:00 in the morning. It was just too loud and woke up my son early everyday.

Also, during this period, obviously a world wrestling gulag at the hotel (https://www.myporec.com/en/what-to-do/events/27715) and there were a lot of wrestlers staying. The hotel should have either informed us of this event or simply closed it for other guests. The hallway was filled with hanging laundries (training wears) and there was too much testosterone at the entire hotel which didn’t create a family friendly environment. Even the gaming room was occupied by the wrestlers in the evening and children couldn’t use it.

Lastly, the guest room is quite dated as mentioned in other reviews. The guest room pictures on Expedia must be rendering images and are not real…

The room was dated and in need of an overhaul
No tea or coffee facility . Apparently only junior suits have this . I was told i could buy coffee at the bar .
The food in the dinning room was average , not a great deal of choice .
Coffee machines were slow . You had to hunt for spoons to eat with as they did not set them out on the table .
Eating out was preferable .
I got rid of two small cockroaches in the bathroom .
There was no complimentary water in the rooms despite there being a fridge . It was unusually hot .

Nice lobby, dated rooms

The lobby and restaurant are completely renovated and very attractive, but the rooms are a remnant from the nineties, design wise (especially the bathroom), albeit comfortable. The food in the restaurant (we had half-board) is very average and the pungent smells from cooking food was overpowering. Don't expect to swim in the indoor pool, since it's just an oversized kids' puddle - not small, but so shallow that one wonders what the point is.

Lovely place for active family holiday

Excellent place for people seeking an active holiday. Brilliant gym, sports facilities, enthusiastic animation team, helpful concierge and wide choice of büfé style half board. However, our holiday was spoiler by not adequate communication between Hotels.com , Valamar Reservation and reception. The issue of being charged twice by Valamar Reservation which is not recorded in their system is still to be resolved. Shame, as this problem really overshadowed our otherwise nice and precious family holiday.

The hotel has a pool, a large hall for breakfast and dinner, parking in the open but is save.The staff is friendly,again would have stayed.I have no complaints.20 min walk you reach the old town.the bathroom could still be a shower gel and balsam hire.For breakfast and dinner has a large selection of savory and sweet meat. Price corresponds to the level of the hotel.The rooms have a balcony and a beautiful view of the sea.

Valamar Diamont- A great base to see Istria

Comfortable enough room. Efficient Staff. Arrived late and had late night cold snack for us which was very much appreciated. Free Wifi. Plenty of loungers at the pool and at the beach. Hotel is in huge complex with 3 other Valamar hotels.
Good sized breakfast, dinner was fine, nothing special. Plenty of restaurants in
Porec. 10 minutes from Porec via shorter route, 15-20 minutes if you take the path along the sea.

Organised activities everyday in hotel if you wish to participate. Live music most nights of the week in one of the hotel bars.

Hotel was nice and clean, however the balcony sea view we had was not really the view one would expect for the additional cost per night. The breakfast and dinner selection was also quite small with little to no change from day to day. Drinks were well priced. We enjoyed the BBQ that the hotel set up (Wednesday night). The location of the hotel was pretty close to Porec center, nice place to pending an evening.

Overall, good experience, but extremely disappointed with the hotel room (not even close to the description of an Expedia 4star rating). Bathroom very small, water dripping from the toilet all night. Window blinds do not cover the light and it was quite unpleasant in the morning and the beds were very uncomfortable. I've never experienced tape over the mini-bar (that was a first). Otherwise, the staff were extremely helpful. I have to send kudos to Veronika, our waitress during dinner. No one else saw us (not even the manager on duty), but she noticed that we had not been served (and it wasn't even her waiting area). Wellness center was ok, just the dead cockroach on the floor was a bit bothersome.

my friend and I had a wonderful time at the hotel Diamant, the staff were fantastic, so helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Marjey the head of the dining room looked after us and was always smiling and helpful. Danjel in the lounge bar made us both laugh and was a real character. the room was on the second floor overlooking the park, and although there wasnt much of a view it didnt matter. the room was clean and fresh and very quiet. In the evening there is a short 10-15min walk to Porec or there was some great family entertainment at the hotel next door, we had a great Abba tribute night! lovely grounds, wonderful food, we will definitely go back again. thank you to all the great staff.

One definitely not yo be missed....a must stay

We never go back to Countries we have visited before because we always think there is so much of the world to be explored, but we really loved Croatia and possibly would come back and if we did this would be the hotel we would stay at. Your roughly about 30 minutes from the airport and the taxi will cost around £50 each way. On arrival at the hotel it is big and a sister hotel to Ruby and Crystal... it has everything you could possibly want. Kids club, bikes for hire, gym, sports facilities, wellness centre, indoor and out door pools... the list in endless, look on their website and it will tell you. There is a lot going on down by the sea front, mini golf, jet ski hire, tennis.. the list is endless and for all ages. You really wont be disappointed.
The rooms are basic but what else do you need, the beds were really comfortable and the pillows were too..(sometimes you want to get home to your own bed, but these were lovely) and air conditioned.
The food is very good, we stayed half board and there was something always being cooked fresh,hot croissants in the morning, the pizza is lovely and there was always a joint of meat being cooked as well as fresh pasta... it really catered for everyone. The pool area food is lovely too and prices were very reasonable... There are gardens which lead down to the sea and more sun beds if you want a quieter area.

The hotel accommodations and amenities were great and a very friendly staff. A bit far from the center of town. One regret was taking the advice of our check in agent who directed us to a restaurant he made a reservation on our behalf since the hotel restaurant was closed. He directed us not to converse with other restaurant staff as they would try to recruit us but we come to find that the his recommendation was highly overpriced.

This was my first visit to Croatia. The hotel was modern, clean, close to the beach. The staff spoke English, Italian, German, Russian, and Croatian. It seems that Porec is a hot spot for German vacationers. I probably heard more German being spoken than any other language. The pool was clean and not over-run by kids or crazy drunk 20-somethings. We were able to get a lounge chair by the pool every day. The beach is 200 meters away. Not a sandy beach, but the water was warm and clear. Also very easy to get a spot on the beach. Very relaxing place to stay. Only about a15 minute walk along the beach into the town center. Breakfast and dinner were included with our room. I am not usually keen on buffet food, but it was very fresh and cooked right in front of you. Lots of variety of excellent dishes.

Good all-round Istrian hotel.

Hotel is one in a complex of 4 (at least two others are part of the same Valamar chain). Good points are: staff very efficient and friendly, buffet meals with plenty of choice, handy for beach activities, only a 30-40 minute walk into Porec, decent leisure facilities. Poor points: all hotels have same range of drinks, and exactly the same pricing.

full service hotel away from the touristic center

This is probably a perfect hotel for a family that wants to have everything at hand without having to go into the touristic city center. They is a huge breakfast and dinner buffet, there is a pool, a spa, a gym, and you can easily access the beach (which is rocky in these parts but still pleasant). The food is not great, so if you're looking to have a special gastronomic experience then this is definitely not the place for you. Rooms are not fancy but adequate and clean - the bathroom was quite small and strangely shaped in my single room, but is probably better in the larger rooms.

Valamar Diamant Hotel in Porec, Croatia

This was a wonderful relaxing stay. The hotel was clean and well- run. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a plus that it was within walking distance to the town of Porec through a beautiful park. The food was fresh and delicious and the combination of having breakfast and dinner available made everything so easy. one did not have to think aobut muCh, just relax and enjoy!

This hotel should be in Benidorm priced around £60 per night - not the £100 I paid. It is a friendly but run down tourist hotel. The corridors are pitch dark till you move to activate the lights. The sheets are clean but all the fittings are a bit tired though the staff are generally helpful. The food was very average. On arrival at 11pm I could only get a ham and cheese sandwich to eat. I was assured this would be freshly made but when I got it, it was under plastic and had obviously been in a fridge for several hours - uneatable!

The outside of the hotel is a typical 1970s communist concrete facade that is hideous, but it hides a heart of gold. From the cleaners to the very visible manager all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Lived up to expectations

Not normally a hotel hoilday family so being surrounded by a lot of people was a bit different for us. Couldn't fault the cleanliness of rooms or communal areas and food was excellent. Again we were a little wary about buffet food every night but there was a huge choice and something different each day. Salads were so good that teenage son not known for his love of things healthy pronounced that he had really enjoyed the salad selection. Getting a sunbed by the pool is a bit competitive with nowhere nearly enough for the size of the hotel. Also it seemed odd to us that the pool closed a 7pm.
The only negative comment relates to our departure. Having settled our bill at 10.30 pm the day before our departure because we had an earlyish start we assumed that was it . I was therefore surprised and annoyed when as we were about to get in to the taxi the receptionist came running after us to say we had not paid our bill. It turned out that a bill from the previous afternoon that we had put on our room card had not been handed in by the waiter until very late. I had no local currency but the receptionist insisted that I paid the the bill by credit card - the amount ? 30 Kunas (about £3.60). Having spent some £1800 at the hotel and by the admission of the receptionist the waiter was at fault we left on a sour note. A little flexibility would have been more appropriate.

Unser Zimmer war sauber und das Personal absolut freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstücksbuffet und Abendessen waren sehr gut. Es sind auch viele Parkplätze vorhanden. Ein architektonischer Hingucker ist der Hotelkomplex (von außen) nicht, spielt bei dieser Bewertung aber keine Rolle. Der Blick von Innen auf das Meer ist traumhaft. Gerne wieder.

Die Anlage und Regeln wue Öffnungszeiten etc. Könnten besser und zentral erklärt werden z. B. in einem Flyer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und auch die jugendlichen versuchten ihr bestes, bräuchten jedoch etwas mehr Anleitung. Der Preis für die Tennis Courts ist etwas zu hoch.

Es war sehr schön gelegen, nicht weit vom Strand. Wir könnten alles mit dem Fahrrad erreichen. Das Essen war phantastisch, täglich andere Leckereien frisch zubereitet bei Halbpension. Unser Zimmer war relativ klein mit Queensize Bett. Da war die Matratze etwas weich. Das Badezimmer könnte mal renoviert werden. Die Lüftung darin war sehr schwach. Ansonsten hervorragendes Hotel.

Das Hotel ist einfach eines der besten in Porec! War schon mehrmals in diesem Hotel! Ausstattung der Zimmer super. Hatte Doppelzimmer mit Parkblick gebucht und eine Suite im 8. Stock mit Meerblick bekommen und das ohne Aufpreis. Personal sehr nett. Frühstück und Abendessen vom Buffet ein Traum.
Das einzige was dieses mal sehr ärgerlich war das die Leute schon 1/4 Stunde vor Öffnung des Restaurants am Abend Schlange gestanden sind und dann an das Buffet gestürmt sind als hätten Sie schon einige Tage nichts zu essen bekommen.

Nice hotel with all comfort

Very nice hotel, breakfast and dinner buffet with vegetables, fish, meat and healthy and gluten free corner. Clean room. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gym.
Brolo Beach is two minutes walking and Porec center 25 minutes by foot, also reachable with little touristic train which run on the promenade.

breakfast very good, ommelettes from Inez with a big smile starts the day. Bit disapointed of the room, first was not expected, no view, we asked for another room, and at reception staff tried succesfull. informed us about all things to do and were very helpfull. Nice swimming pool an lots of good beds, free towels and enoiugh space. Room was good, except the bathroom, bit warned out. For superiour room, 1st floor did not have the expected view. Dinner much to choose, but quickly empty. Airco in restaurant and in room. Overall nice stay for a few days.

Struttura molto attrezzata, con varie possibilità di svago e molto apprezzato anche il fatto dei vari eventi che ogni sera vengono organizzati per l'intrattenimento degli ospiti. I confort ci sono più o meno tutti, unica cosa che mi ha fatto storcere un po' il naso è il dovere pagare un supplemento per usufruire dei servizi Spa e del parcheggio, che male che vada è quello che si usa, quindi tanto vale includerlo nel prezzo almeno.

Dejligt sted. Godt man selv kan vælge hvilke pool man har lyst til at være på, syntes priserne på pool baren er blevet dyre på drikke varerne, især nu
vor det er blevet til selvbetjening, maden er ok priser og dejlig mad. Morgenmads buffet rigtig god, men de sparer på juicen, det er blevet til lemonade da de fortynder det hele med vand, smager frygteligt.

Séjour reposant à porec en hiver

Hôtel fait pour l’été piscines extérieures fermées mais belle piscine intérieure.

A recommander le centre fitness et welness dommage que les clients de l’hôtel y ont seulement accès moyennant un paiement de 10 euros même en basse saison ,le parking non couvert est facturé 3 euros par jour alors qu’il est pratiquement vide en cette saison !les repas buffets sont bons et variés mais les boissons sont relativement chères le personnel est attentionné.la salle de lecture est confortable et agréable -tablette à disposition et choix de livre en anglais surtout

Empfehlenswertes Hotel

Buffet ausgezeichnet. Riesige Auswahl und sehr toll hergerichtet. Das Zimmer zur Parkplatzseite ist jedoch durch ein dauerndes Geräusch sehr laut. Man muss die Türe in der Nacht schließen, sonst kann man nicht schlafen. Würde ich nicht mehr buchen. Sonst alles ok.

Erneuter Besuch, nach ca.6-7 Jahren.

Waren wiedermal in Poren...... Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen, Schöne Eingangshalle mit großer BAR, schöne Zimmer ( 20qm etwas klein ) viele mit Meerblick !! TOP Frühstücksbuffet - sowie bei HP auch Abendessen war TOP wie immer, sehr reichliche Auswahl an Fisch,Fleisch........viele Beilagen, TOP frisches Obst, sowie leckere Dessert ..... Wellnessbereich auch gut ( Schwimmbad nur 1,20m für Kinder ideal für Erwachsene na ja.........tolle Sauna und Whirlpool , schöne Liegen........
Abens war Tanzabend, es spielte eine Kapelle und nächsten Tag Alleinunterhalter aber auch gut.
Werden wieder kommen..........

Das Personal ist weitgehend sehr freundlich. Ausnahme: Beim Check in ersuchte ich um zwei aneinander liegende Zimmer (damit Kinder im Nebenzimmer sein können) von insgesamt drei Zimmern, die ich gebucht habe. Die Zimmernummern waren nicht aneinandergereiht und so fragte ich nach, ob auch wirklich zwei Zimmer nebeneinander liegen. Dies wurde bestätigt. Tatsächlich lagen aber die Zimmer nicht nebeneinander. Bei einer Nachfrage erklärte man am check in, dass die Zimmer ja im selben Stockwerk seien - das ist eine nicht entgegenkommende Art und Weise.

Alles andere war im Hotel durchwegs gut und sehr gut. Das übrige Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Lobby war am Abend aber sehr überfüllt. Ich fand mit meiner Familie kaum Platz, zudem war es dann leider auch sehr laut, sodass man sich kaum zusammensetzen konnte.

Albergo stupendo per una vacanza, piscina ok.

Albergo con tutti i confort dalla piscina interna a quella esterna e a due passi dal mare. Peccato doverlo lasciare....

hotel vecchio, con moquette, infiltrazioni di acqua piovana dal soffitto; sala ristorante in cui non funzionano gli aspiratori quindi c'è anche a colazione una gran puzza di fritto e grigliato INSOPPORTABILE!!!
tutto molto caro: una bottiglia di acqua 32Kune=quasi 5€!!!! pure il parcheggio a pagamento 3€ al giorno, così come la SPA non inclusa
