This hotel was perfect for my needs in Gdansk. I was interested in visiting the Old Town and harbor, and did not want any anxiety about finding the place from the train station (you can see the hotel from the platform, and walk straight to it via an underground passage). Convenient on-site resto w/tasty food. Clean. Budget price.

We had a wonderful stay at the Scandic. The location was excellent, with the train station just across the road and the old town only a 10–15 minute walk away.

The hotel had a lovely reception area which was welcoming, and our room was spotless. Cleaning was available on request, which suited us well. The only downsides were that the shower screen was quite short, which meant water tended to spill onto the floor, and the fridge wasn’t very cold.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The Breakfast was served as a buffet with a wide selection of both hot and cold options. We chose to have it at the hotel on two mornings at a cost of 80 PLN, and it was very enjoyable.

Overall, the Scandic is a great hotel in a convenient location, and I would happily stay here again.

Not quite a 4 star hotel.
Very dated materials in the room on the floor my room was on. It appears some rooms may be updated others are not. The photos are deceiving. Price for breakfast is quite high for the location. Overall stay was ok, location is good being across from the main train station.

Perfect location for a short stopover whilst in transit (arrived by train one day, left by ferry the next). The hotel is directly opposite the main railway station, Gdańsk Główny.
Everything super clean, modern and well maintained.
The immediate area is not great for eating out (other than fast food) and the menu of the hotel restaurant (Senso) was not particularly appealing. Breakfast, on the other hand, was outstanding.
The start of the Old Town is about 10 minutes’ walk away.

A lovely hotel. The front desk was super helpful and friendly. They even supplied us with enormous breakfast bags when our tour caused us to leave early before the included breakfast opened. AC worked well and the hotel is located near many sights and dining. I would highly recommend and would stay there again!

Really nice large hotel, great breakfast and nice outdoor patio. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out process. There is a parking structure directly next to the hotel with good rates and secure. The location is directly across the street from the main train station, walkable to the old town and main tourist areas in Gdansk and a 10 minute walk from an amazing shopping mall.

Best location in town for TRAIN travel, across that beautiful rail station. Both of our beds were comfortable, bathing facilities gorgeous, very nice soft towels. We had our dinner upon arrival & both enjoyed. All of my future travels to Gdansk will include Scandic Hotel.

Very well located for all transport. Supermarkets, restaurants and bars are moments away. Walking the streets to the old town probably took 10 minutes with shops,market, splendid buildings and interest all the way.
Big hotel but doesn't feel it.
Reception staff and all staff I came in contact with were helpful,warm and friendly at all times.
Breakfast was fabulous! Plenty of hot and cold vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options as well as meat and dairy breakfast items with the Scandinavian/ northern European style of Scandic hotels.
Our room was an accessible room although I wouldn't have known other than the bathroom set up. Plenty of space for everything. Clean and modern. Kettle, glassware, fridge. My only issue was that the bathroom was a wet room and held the wet in all the wrong places.
Would definitely stay again

Situated across the Main Train Station, so the area is very rundown and the view from the back of the hotel is of a huge garbage disposal area. There is broken glass on the sidewalks indicating some drunks favor this area. The check in lady was the least enthusiastic or helpful person in a long time. The rooms are spacious but lack warmth. The AC was not working properly the whole 3 days we stayed there despite reporting it to the front desk. This is NOT a 4 star hotel and I don’t know why they claim this rating. A 2 star at best if they were a bit more pleasant and helpful. There is no garage on site as Expedia claims, but there is one near the hotel at a very reasonable price if you book ahead on line. Stay elsewhere unless you can get a great bargain on the price.

Hotel is located across a main road from Gdansk Glowny railway station, although road and train noise was not an issue. Relatively short walk from the centre of Gdansk old town and all its attractions, and within short distance of the Madison shopping centre with good shops and eating options. Very good buffet breakfast with wide range of hot and cold food, and also a Vegan area too.

The staff was extremely helpful and very professional. The room was extremely comfortable, and ideal for my needs. The breakfast provided a wide array of choices along with a variety of beverages. Once again the service staff was efficient, quiet and very polite. I look forward to staying here again when I return to Gdansk. I highly recommend it as its location is extremely near the main train station and has access to both tram, bus service along with taxi service.

Please make sure you have a basic notepad and a pen in a room. Also, please add dispenser with lotion in the bathroom, not sure why you have soap and shampoo but no lotion, seems like a basic amenity offered everywhere. The air conditioning is the loudest one I’ve ever heard. The location is very convenient if you need to be by the train station.

A week in Gdansk

The hotel is in a very convenient location if traveling by train as it is just across the Gdansk Main station. It is an easy 20 minute walk to the Old Town and other points of interest. My only concern is that the shower enclosure covers less than half of the shower area and water splattered all over. This seems to be common in European hotels as this is not the first time I experienced this inconvenience. All in all, it was an acceptable hotel with lots of bars, restaurants and shopping nearby. We always ate out so I cannot comment on the breakfast.

I stayed a second time in the hotel before leaving Poland. Very nice place and friendly personnel. The breakfast was super excellent, tasty and with high quality products. Polish food is super tasty and very natural. Definitely will visit the hotel again. My eight year old daughter said she wants to stay in the hotel forever. Now we are in the USA still thinking about the super tasty kielbasa, scrambled eggs, farmer cheese, tomatoes and the whole breakfast. Thank you to all the hotel staff.

Room was not properly cleaned before our check-in and they couldn’t offer us other one. We found ear cleaner on the floor, hair and dirty tops. When we went to reception they asked us “but how dirty is it” like there is an accepted level of dirtiness.

Great stay at Gdansk

I greatly appreciate the service mindedness of the reception staff in finding nearby Polish restaurants which serve roast duck. After telling them that the info given of one restaurant was outdated, another staff called to confirm that two restaurants still have the duck dish on their menus.
They were also very helpful in directing me to various WW2 commemoration events since I do not read Polish.
Their efforts have made my 4 day trip to Gdansk a very memorable one.
Btw the location of the hotel which is just opposite to the main railway station and bus stop for the bus nr 210 from the airport are definitely pluses.

Handy for rail and bus travel to other parts or Poland and local area. Don't assume it's quick and easy to get too and from airport via public transport, a taxi costs a max £ 20. Hotel is handy for old town and 20 mins to riverside.
Very clean , staff friendly and will look after your cases. Check in was quick and efficient. Be careful on your timings. We were told at 10:15pm that the bar was open til 11 pm got back downstairs at 10:25 to be told by the bar staff that the bar was closed. Also dont go to breakfast ( exellent ) with less than half an hour to spare

Next to the train station, old town is just few minutes ahead. Nice room, spacious, lovely bed. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately on check out the girl was a bit rude. Overall a nice hotel and I would recommend, specially if you have a train to catch early or if you are looking for a room with a bath to relax after a long day walking

Everything about the hotel is what one should expect with a Scandic. It was clean, service was friendly, room was comfortable. It’s location across from the train station situated the hotel a few minutes walk to the main “Old Town”;might not be as convenient for some. Overall a pleasant stay and a repeat stay is likely.

Was a bit dissapointed by the customer service and reception attitude. I belive the staff was late with cleaning the rooms as multiple people were waiting at 3 PM to have their check-in completed. Hotel was expensive as per Poland prices. Rooms were nice and met the standards and expectations from Scandic hotels chain. Location was very good, walking distance from city center.

The Staff, the food and the location of the Hotel was Brilliant.
Our only slight issue was we had a family room for 3 adults and no where in the room description did it say that the 3rd bed was going to be a camp bed !!

Clean, well located near the station and within easy distance of the old Town. I'm not quite sure it was four star though, whatever four star means. We had twin beds and they were fine, but not the most comfortable. They pushed away from the wall if you leaned back (no headboard and on wheels) and had a mattress topper that sometimes slipped off.

Breakfast was great though. Definitely get the breakfast!

Why stay anywhere else in Gdansk if this is the sort of price bracket and quality you are looking for?
Easy access direct by bus from airport (bus 210 from outside arrivals stops by the hotel) Easy access by train (just by the train station). Yet despite being by this transport hub it is quiet.
Easy walk to Old Town, Solidarity and other museums and up the the Millennium monument overlooking the town.
Superb buffet breakfast with Polish specialties, fresh fruit, cereals as well as hot options.
The restaurant food is basic but you would not want to eat there with so many restaurants within 5-10 mins walk.

My stay at the Scandic Gdansk

The trip was amazing. Staied from 5 through the 19 of January 2018.The best hotel in my opinion.The room was wery good, clean, dayliee made service excellent, front desk staff very helpful. The hotel is situated in a walking distance to resturances, shopping, old town and, about 3 minutes walk to the trams and to the train station, buses come to the sidewalk curve next to the hotel. I suggest getting the app JAKDOJADE for the tram, buses,train and scheduled times. My over all stay was excellent. I recommend this hotel to all.😀

Bra hotell med jättebra läge mitt emot järnvägsstationen och gångavstånd till Gamla stan.
Jättetrevlig personal och vi uppskattade att få checka in på morgonen istället för eftermiddagen som det annars stod i bokningen.
