The room was clean. The newly renovated room seems ok. I noticed near the sink it was cuts a little rough around the edges and not clean finish. But it was alright for staying just one evening. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was gross. Carpet and couch with nasty stains. I didn’t even want to sit on it. The lamp shade and curtains were ripped. No refrigerator in the room. TV was old with crappy reception. It was a terrible stay. I do not recommend anyone to stay here.

The room I stayed in (Rm# 210 off Hill Rd) had an old cigarette odor to it. The batroom floor and at the sink looked old and it doesn't match like they just replaced it with anything. The bed was the worst. It was obvious that the springs in the bed are shot! I had the worst nights sleep there due to the bed alone. This is getting to be like an old trucker stop or drive-in motel.

The lobby and staff were friendly and accommodating, even though I had booked last minute. The rooms and furniture were outdated and could use a remodel (I believe this is underway). I would recommend this place for a last minute booking. Looking forward to returning after the construction is completed.

Services we paid for we didn't receive. We should get some kind of refund. Bed were never made. I even went down and asked and they assured me it would be taken care of. The hotel is not in good condition. Elevator was not working, pool was closed, hot tub was closed, cafe was closed, room was dirty, phones were not in working order, and I found I had no towels when I used the shower. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Would not recommend or stay there again.

The room was dirty and had a foul odor. There was trash left in the garbage cans in the room also a disposable razor was left laying in the shower. The curtains were torn and didn’t block out the lights from the parking lot. I was in room 107. I was thoroughly disappointed in the condition of the room and will not be staying there again.

The swimming pool was not in operation. If there was a hot tub, it was probably not in operation either. We didn't know this until we arrived to check in. We were told the Courtyard Flint was under construction; however, there was no evidence of construction, except for the swimming pool not being in operation and I observed a sheet of drywall on the floor in the stairwell. The curtains, in both the bedroom and the living room, had several horizontal rips/cuts/tears in each curtain. The shower shampoo was broken off from the shower wall. The shower body wash would not open. And the housekeeper's broom was placed upside down in the cart, which required my walking eye level past the broom bristles. With the exception of the bed, all of the furniture was extremely scratched up and worn, including the sofa's cushions which sunk in the center of the sofa. Our friends, in Room 222, expressed they had the same complaints regarding their furniture. I did not envision these conditions are what I expect from a Marriott property, even if it was purchased by Marriott.

Bed table had candy and chip used wrappers in drawer. Turned over bed pill and had live roach or stink bug on it. Hair in shower.
Staff offered to switch but same bed size was not available. Said manager was not there and probably would not be there Sunday either.

Room did not have usb, etc. -charged phone by plug-in socket. Just not up to Marriott standards in my opinion.

Don't advertise a pool and hot tub if you don't actually have it. If it's down reach out to your guests or post on sites they'll be closed. Upgrade your mattresses too. I'm not sure that we would ever go back.

I don’t even know where to begin. Our stay at the Courtyard Flint by Marriott was a complete disaster from start to finish.

The pool was under construction, but that wasn’t mentioned anywhere during booking. Hallways and stairwells were littered with construction materials, dust, and debris — it looked more like a job site than a hotel. The entire stairwell reeked of marijuana, and the smell carried into the hallways.

When we got to our room, things somehow got worse. There were visible stains on the box spring, and no sheet or cover on it — just bare, grimy fabric. Towels had hair on them, and there wasn’t even a basic bar of hand soap in the bathroom. Our window had been left wide open, the screen was bent, and several stink bugs were crawling around inside.

It honestly felt like no one had inspected or cleaned the room before we arrived. Between the filth, construction mess, bad smells, and general neglect, this property is nowhere near Marriott standards.

We checked out feeling disgusted and disappointed. Do yourself a favor and pick any other hotel in the area — this one needs a full renovation and management overhaul before it should be open to guests.

We got to the hotel at 3:40 pm to check in and the desk clerk had to go and check if our room was ready. She came back and said they did not have the room we reserved available so we were put in a smaller room. It took over 20 minutes to check in. The pool was also under construction

I was not made aware by Expedia or the hotel before check in or booking for that matter that the hotel was under going a remodel. This meant amenities I was told were available like the pool, hot tub, or even ice machines were actually not. Rooms were okay but with old furniture and paint flecks on the floor giving a uncleaned appearance. The AC unit had mold growing on the vents as well. All can be supported with photo evidence.

They are in the midst of upgrading the rooms. I had to switch rooms to huge room with nothing but a bed and TV. Had a friend come over and the bar was closed early, about 8 PM. Went up to my room and there was a piece of paper stating I had no water so I had to move. Inconvenient for me and the friend, they left and told me good luck. Bad experience for my 50th class reunion, will not be going back to Flint anytime soon

Complete Disaster - Stay Away

Got double-charged. Despite paying through Expedia they charged my wife's credit card the whole week stay again. Staff first said \"yeah we see it, sorry that receptionist was new and she made a mistake. it'll reverse automatically.\" Later claimed they couldn't see any charge. After hours of arguing with 2 mangers across our week stay there, the bank literally confirmed the charge to the manager - and he STILL denied it. And then asked me dispute it myself. I did. Have to wait 60-day for a decision on my money and might not be refunded.

But wait, there's more:
Pull-out bed was disgusting - covered in stains. Construction everywhere all week - pool torn apart, gym wrapped in plastic, outdoor areas covered in debris. Couldn't use any amenities we paid for.

But to be fair: the room (other than the pull-out) itself was fairly clean as well as the bathroom, and the lobby wasn't bad.

TLDR: Pros: Clean bathroom, decent lobby Cons: Double-charged me, confirmed the mistake, then denied it. and kept lying about it, disgusting bed, construction blocking all amenities, terrible customer service

Light over bathroom sink only worked sometimes. No maid service even though we asked for it. We had to get our own clean towels from the desk. Horrible experience.

After getting checked in, I Then saw they were under construction. The pool is closed, also under construction.
I had a mattress that had holes in it and was stained with a mattress cover that was from 20 years ago and one set of sheets. I asked for two sets of sheets to put on additional to put over the nasty bed that was probably taken off of the corner in Flint. No one would ever bring sheets. I ended up breaking down and going to Meijer and buying sheets and a mattress cover.
The floor was wet in all spots where u would access the bed and the walkout patio. The bed was damp and the sheets also were. The couch was broke down so bad, you mind as well have sat on the floor.

I checked in on Thursday, expressed my feelings about the conditions and was told all the rooms were the same. Left Sunday after finding new accommodations. At this time no one had ever come to clean the room! I’m pretty sure there was blood on the curtains, bathroom shelf was broken and just lying there. Got up Friday morning and the human trafficking police were outside. The scariest stay ever! I couldn’t rest at all

I had high expectations for this property as it is a Marriott property. Unfortunately when I opened the door to my room I was blown away with a harsh stale cigarette odor. Because I was there alone with two young children I just opened the window for fresh air. But the window screen was broken so we couldn’t keep it open long. And later when I put my baby in the bathtub he had two different strands on hair stuck to him that had come out of the tub. Gross!

Not all rooms come with balconies and they are on a “first come first serve basis”, the pool was freezing and extremely unenjoyable, no one was ever working at the bistro the entire time I was there. The staff member was incredibly unhelpful when I was unhappy with the room I was given. There were multiple white stains on the royal blue carpet, the desk in the room was dusty and had obviously not been properly cleaned for quite some time. Room was very dated and definitely did not live up to the “Marriott” name.

We lost power so chose this hotel for two nights. When we arrived to our room we had no phone, refrigerator or microwave. Our heat did not work. When asking the front desk attendants, they were not very helpful or kind. We were told that those extras were not guaranteed with the room. Not even a phone apparently to be able to call the front desk for assistance. It served its purpose for having electricity and a place to sleep, but that was about it. I will have to say the pool was nice, but there were waaaayyyyy too many products in the hot tub to enjoy it without it burning your eyes. Would not visit in the the future.

Marriot Property? Hmmmmm.

Front desk staff were super friendly and efficient. Our room, not so great, and this was the same experience for 2 other couples that we travelled with. Our room had threadbare carpet, broken lampshades, and the stuffing was coming out of the couch. The balcony door needed a good Windex. We had an early flight, so I understand no breakfast, but it wouldn’t hurt to have coffee available in the lobby at least. In my opinion, Courtyard By Marriot is a decent brand, and we have stayed them in different areas, but in Flint, they are not living up to the name. Please do better….again, staff was excellent.

Upon entering my room it was ok but going in to the bathroom there was mold on the shower liner in the tub around the grab bars the remote for the tv was missing the back piece smoke dectector had a bad battery in it so it kept chirping the sheets had stains and the sheets one looked like pee the other looked like rust not to mention the sheets did not fit the bed one of the lights by the bed did not work i asked for the battery and sheets to be replaced by the front desk she wrote it down never got cleaned or the battery changed the hot tub pool area the water smelled musty the paint on the ceiling was peeling off the only good thing i can say is that the staff i approached were really down to earth
