Beautiful resort. Definitely earned the luxury title. The pool could have been heated as we did visit in the fall, but the water was beautiful and we still swam. I noticed there was a decent amount of grime in the corners but it is such a large pool I was not too surprised. Overall this didn’t create an issues. The bed was very firm but house keeping was great and immediately got us an extra topper. The staff were all amazing and we definitely noticed the luxury service in the house keeping frequency, room service speed and professionalism and the mini bar refreshes. Also the food was amazing. Best all inclusive food we have had. The desserts were all unreal. One thing I will mention is that there are planes flying low overhead every hour so more during the day so if you’re looking for a super peaceful escape this may not be the one. But if you can overlook the planes, we still felt very relaxed and the vibe was awesome. Overall gorgeous property, and we will stay again.

The resort was beautiful! The food and staff were amazing. We had an 6:30 am early morning transfer to the ferry the day we checked out and they opened the kitchen and had breakfast waiting for us at 6 am The only thing that wasn’t ideal was the Paraiso Party garden was located next to our room and since we had an early morning transfer, the music made it very difficult to sleep - that would be my only recommendation for not staying in a room nearby the party garden.

Food was exceptional. The all inclusive concept has limitations that if you’re used to all inclusive in the Caribbean or even at Paradisus brand it would make nervous…this would make me mark them down especially for the price point paid. Overall a wonderful experience. Love Crete….visited 3 hotels over 11 days but would try another A.I hotel on our next visit as we will certainly be back.

This was a 1 night stay prior to a longer booking, in a basic room. I was also here last year. Don’t be scared of a solo trip, the people are fantastic and you will be made to feel very welcome and not alone.
The guests are hit and miss, some are a bit rowdy, some doing photo shoots the whole time but it’s easy to find some quiet space. Most are couples in their 30s. The rooms are soundproofed, I stayed on a top floor and couldn’t hear any neighbours which was a relief, food is fantastic but large portions. All inclusive is a must so that you can relax and let the wonderful people bring you drinks and snacks. I had a wonderful massage to start my trip, and a meal in the lovely Greek restaurant.
Outside gym has some really cool equipment.
I think the resort is non smoking, which is a relief as many Greek people smoke (there are mostly English people here), there are a lot of vapers.

I will definitely return next year. I also stayed in the grand bungalow which was easily the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. I’d advise anyone to book a swim up room at least, to avoid sunbed wars at the pool.

Stella Island is a beautiful and peaceful resort with a truly premium feel. The rooms were superb, and the design—with pools running throughout—adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The food was consistently excellent, with plenty of variety and top-quality dishes. While the location isn’t ideal for walking to nearby attractions, the resort has everything you need, and taxis to local towns are easy to arrange. Highly recommended for a luxurious, hassle-free getaway.

From the first minute, we walked into the front doors we were cared for like none other. The staff was super friendly and very hospitable. The dining options were very good. Lots of different options. We only booked a two nights stay. I wish it was a seven nights stay. I will definitely be returning in the future. The only knock I would give this place is we had ants in our room… 9.5/10 stay.

Everything about this place is 5 stars. The a la carte dining options are incredible with 5 restaurants to choose from, all offering very different cuisine. The cocktails are made fresh and are excellent quality. There is an outdoor gym for CrossFit style training and a well equipped indoor gym. The room was excellent - we had the premium swim up. Our deck was in the shade most of the day which may bother some people, but we were happy to use it as a break from the sun. And there are plenty of sun loungers available. The resort felt spacious and quiet despite being fully booked. Staff are very attentive and friendly. If we had to be constructive, one criticism would be the buffet - we enjoyed the breakfast. Lunch and dinner are ok, but the variety isn't huge and quality was hit or miss. However, there are several restaurant options for lunch as well where the food is guaranteed to be great. We will definitely be going back, it's an excellent resort for couples.

I don’t even know where to start, the views are spectacular, the food is Michelin-star level, and the staff are professional and kind.
We stayed in Premium Suite with a balcony. Somehow this resort is only a 3-star on Expedia, which makes no sense to us. If there were such a thing as a 6-star resort I would rank Stella Island as such.
We’ve travelled far and wide and this is by far the nicest resort we have ever stayed at.
We’d like to call out 2 staff members in particular for their service:
George who worked at Makuti - probably the nicest person we’ve ever met. He was kind, courteous, and his level of service went above and beyond. He made our experience truly special both times we were there.
Kleidi who was serving us at the pool - Kleidi took the time to get to know us, and we exchanged a few stories about where we are from, and our love of football. He was super kind and friendly, and it was a joy to have him take care of us.
Overall, we can’t recommend Stella Island enough. We are already looking to plan our return all the way from Canada soon!

Wow! I only stayed one night because I’d read bad reviews saying it was noisy and full of annoying influencers.
I think you pay more and get more. I was in a bungalow and it was pure bliss. Marina, my concierge, really helped me to maximise my stay and was amazing.
I loved not having to fight people for sun loungers at 7am with towels.
I loved how private the bungalow was.
The only downside for me was I think if I stayed longer I’d come back fat, the food was amazing and all inclusive just makes you want to try things and eat lots. I’m not really a drinker, maybe one, so this was a bit of a waste for me. Gym was pretty decent but closed at 7 which is really early.
Overall it was brilliant, super expensive but worth it for something special. I’ll stay longer next time I go, I think 5 nights is ideal

We booked Stella Island for four nights our honeymoon thinking it was going to be the best luxury holiday of our life. Unfortunately it fell short of our expectations.
The Negative: Service was extremely slow, majority of food was luke warm, the staff did not understand much English, which we are so fine with, we're in Greece after all - however, the communication was very bad, this made for a tough time getting what we asked for - our servers/bartenders forgot our drink order on several different occasions, or gave us the wrong thing... we would often be served a different dish to what we asked for or a dish without half of the ingredients listed on the menu. Whenever we had a question, even the most simple and standard, it was a big ordeal and barrier to get through. Housekeeping would forget to top up our body wash, and coffee, etc - basically housekeeping stuff. When we called reception to politely ask for a top up of these things, they said a housekeeper/room service wold be right over to replenish.... but they never came. We were quite shocked at how the basics were overlooked here.
The positive: The Facilities itself were stunning - we were so happy with the surroundings - the room, the pools, the trees... everything was very aesthetic to look at! The staff were very friendly, we just found it strange that the above things were too much ask....

Everything is exactly as you expect! All of the staff we have interacted with have been the most caring and attentive people I have ever met, especially at the Makuti bar day in day out they even recommended us some films to watch. The pictures of the place you see are exactly what you get. If you are like us and do not often experience people waiting on you hand and foot it’s a surreal experience but something that makes the trip

First time staying at Stella Island and Wow! From start to end the holiday was amazing. Lovely welcome by the front desk staff, check in incredibly smooth with a welcome drink. Staff very attentive, used the in resort a la carte restaurants on 4 of the 5 nights which were all lovely (esp the Mexican and Steak restaurants) staff very friendly, resort is very clean and tidy with staff always cleaning. This property was absolutely stunning!! Definitely enjoyed staying here. The rooms were gorgeous, pool was amazing, extremely friendly staff, and they had a nice spa! Overall 5 out of 5. Only thing that was a little disappointing was the beach for the guests. Certainly wasn’t what we expected. Very rocky, and not a great place to enjoy the ocean as there’s walls/barriers right in front of where the Stella Island guests sit. However, not a big deal. We just went to a nearby beach about 20 minutes away via taxi, and it was awesome. This place is gorgeous and we’d highly recommend it.

This place was amazing. Very clean, modern, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Everything you would imagine a place like that to be. We definitely didn’t have enough time there. I would like to have used the facilities the entire day of check in even if our room was not ready yet, as we were not able to use them until 3:00 and then not able to use them after check out at 11:00 so it made for a short time period for two days. Also since we did not get to check in until late we were not able to eat at one of the speciality restaurants the first night as they were already booked and then the choices for the second day were limited because of already being booked up.

Quite a nice quiet place to relax but all inclusive finishes by 11pm and you have to pay for food and drinks between 11pm and 7am which is quite is okay with me with the amount charged for the stay. I was charged separately for using the spa too

We stayed at this property in mid May when the weather was still a little cold and therefore did not get to enjoy the pool and other amenities as we would have liked. Despite that, we had a wonderful time over our few day stay at Stella Island! The staff was incredibly wonderful and the resort was neat and clean and servers were mostly pretty attentive. Our room was cleaned daily. There were shows in the evening, which were a nice form of entertainment since the resort is pretty isolated from everything else. The one day we did go into town, the hotel arranged a taxi for us for a fee of about 50 euro.

I was told over email that they would not take them beforehand, and when we got there, the staff said I should have made them in advance because no dining except buffet dining was available on the day of our arrival. That being said, when we did get to eat at the specialty restaurants that were open, they were incredibly wonderful! The food was on par fantastic for an all inclusive deal.
-I had contacted the hotel to set up transportation from the airport and they never got back to me. That being said, it was easy to find a taxi at the airport.
-All inclusive ends at 11pm (for drinks/foods); which is not something we were used to or expected.

The place is huge and looks very nice. Rooms are very large and comfort. On the other hand, the hotel is a bit too big and with many guests so sometimes the service lacks. I had a half board reservation and so they let you eat only in the main restaurant. I was disappointed of the food quality in the main restaurant (mainly dinner) and as well of the lunch in the meat restaurant (with extra cost).

This is a magnificent property with incredible staff! We stayed in a bungalow for 10 days during our honeymoon and cannot wait to go back! Right firstly the bad things ..... no still can’t think of any, what a brilliant relaxed holiday, great food, great accommodation , brilliant staff their manager should be very proud. From the moment you arrive nothing is to much trouble , we stayed in bungalow with a private pool, we asked for a late check out and moved to a swim up room, I was not disappointed with either. This is a chill out holiday, I’m more of
a get out and see things person and find rest difficult so I did get myself a snorkel and swam in the sea near the hotel, which had some wonderful fish to see. I also used the spa which was really nice to. I was all inclusive and the restaurant options were a great change to the usual buffet scenario, we loved Umami the best. We also got the the miniature train ( which was lively to the local town and village , you can also if you want get a bus to the main city, but I would recommend treating yourself to a good rest and a bit of being spoiled , this is the place to do it😊

Being Adult only the resort was very relaxing with no noisy children to disturb you. Only 25 mins from the airport meant you're by the pool soon after arriving on the Island. We stayed at room #40 (Banglow). It was very bad experience, the pool drains just below the room and makes noise 24/7. In addition, the smell from there is very bad, you can't really sit and relax on the hammock. Other guests sits just in from of you room and you don't have any privacy.
There is almost no service at the pool area, it takes forever to order and than forever to get what you want. they are so slow!!!
The old area is what you see in the pictures is way better than the new area. The new area is much more crowded, noisy and the pool is much smaller, there is no privacy - ask for the old area.

An exceptional hotel with regard to the accommodation facilities the set up of the rooms with a large bed, incredible sink and tap (which comes directly down from the ceiling) and an amply sized shower they really do have a luxury feel, especially if if you choose a swim up ground floor room.
The facilities elsewhere however do not quite meet these standards. The gym for example is fairly basic, albeit fairly new, the tennis courts are fine if that’s your thing and the spa did look lovely but is only available if you’re willing to pay extra. There’s little else that the hotel offers over and above this, aside from the usual spread of bars and al la carte restaurants, there’s no private beach and the seaside of the town wasn’t particularly attractive.
There is a hotel shop but this seemed costly especially when compared to the corner shops and supermarket in the town.
However, if you’re after a relaxing stay, where activities, the beach or hitting the gym isn’t your priority then the hotel is lovely.
We really enjoyed eating at both the buffet for breakfast and lunch and had some fantastic evenings in the al la carte restaurants for supper. I feel that some may find the buffet options a little limited, but they certainly excelled at offering fantastic Greek foods, lovely salads, olives and plenty of oil to dip your bread in.
Overall I’d definitely recommend the place and would consider going there again if you’re looking to get away from it all and just relax.

This hotel lived up to its good reviews. The food in the restaurants was superb and the staff really lovely. Great pool areas, and all immaculately clean. Superb bars and entertainment , it was good on greek night, it was perfect for us to get away from the kids. Only a couple of points for management, Workmen drilling on the roof at 8.30am! was not appreciated but they stopped when asked. The phone was not working in our lovely room (although reported), so I couldn't call reception to complain about people jumping in the pool and having a party on the balcony beneath us at 2 and 3am. Overall superb hotel, but as previous guests said not a lot outside the grounds. Great to chill for a few days, but I would say you need a car. We personally love Crete but prefer Chania. We were half board.
