This hotel was lovely, the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the room had coffee making facilities and little chocolates and biscuits, the toilet was clean, the shower was excellent, bathrobes and slippers provided along with toiletries, we didn’t use the dining facilities but the smell coming from there was fabulous, we did however use the bar which had a great selection of drinks and cocktails. In all I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again. The staff are very friendly, always speaking when you came in or left the building.

Breakfast okay, nothing to write home about. Staff wore jeans, trainers and blouses, not quite what I would have expected. One member of staff in breakfast room rather rude. We ordered breakfast both without sourdough toast and asked for brown toast separately. Breakfast arrived served on top of brown toast, not separate as requested. I said we had asked for it separate and she went to take plate away. I said just to leave it and bring toast separately. She returned with one slice in a toast rack. I said I had requested toast for 2 on the side. She grabbed the toast rack and said if you tell me what you want I will get it. Strange I thought I already had!
Had requested a room with bath in message to hotel prior to arrival. None available but not even acknowledged by Receptionist, just said none available.
At checkout we weren't asked how our stay was, but did offer have a nice day as we were leaving.
Such a shame, as this used to be our go to Hotel in Oban since it first opened, but that is definitely our last visit

Arrived late, but the hotel had a lot of inventory so room selection should have been no problem. The front desk staff gave us our room key (room was assigned earlier in day, as far as we could tell).

Room was tiny! It was also on the main road side of the hotel, so we couldn't sleep with road noise, traffic, drunk people on streets, etc. If it was peak season, I'd understand ending up in a room like this. But the hotel had ALOT of empty rooms, so maybe management should think about how they assign rooms at low inventory times of year.

While there is a lift to each floor -- there are also stairs on each floor that have to be used to access about half of the rooms. For those with disabilities, make sure they put you in one of the rooms on the level with the elevator.

There was a nice lounge/bar attached to hotel.
Amenities were super nice.

Breakfast looked like standard hotel fare (cereal and eggs) - we went around the corner to a nice cafe for breakfast.

The Junior suite was lovely with wonderful views across the bay, comfy chairs, clean bathroom and sumptuous bed, with good quality linen.
The food in the restaurant was outstanding, we sent our thanks to the chef.
We enjoyed the Spa on our first afternoon but when I went to organise a massage for the next day I was told by that the area would be closed.
This was a shock, it has not been mentioned by any member of staff when I phoned prior to our stay, nor was it stated when we booked the thermal area for our first afternoon.
One of the reasons we had booked the Perle was because it had the Spa. The next morning we spoke with reception about the problem and voiced our concern. Once we were back in the room we had a call from reception telling us the area would be available after all. This was excellent service. It altered our view of the hotel as it was dealt with so promptly and made us determined to return.
All the staff were helpful, efficient and charming, from housekeeping and reception, to bar and restaurant staff.

Pros - The room was lovely, bed was nice and soft, breakfast was amazing and staff were courteous and pleasant.
Cons - draughty windows, rooms could do with replacement windows or secondary glazing. WIFI was spotty and TV, which relies on the WiFi, didn’t work very well.
For the money it is a decent hotel but I’ve had better for less. Bar staff need to be more careful when serving guests as barman dripped hot tea on my wife’s leg whilst delivering it to our table.

When we checked into our bedroom the heating was not on at all and. I Complained to reception they gave us another room on the same floor. Also when we entered that room it was freezing to. I had to phone reception she never came up on these 2 rooms so was running about. Then I went back downstairs she said the whole heating in fllor 1 was not working they got installed new heating system. I got upgraded to second floor also the heating was still not right most of the night the room was cold.. I spoke to management in morning he was nice told him about the issues he said will refund the whole amount.I will take up to 10 days to get refund won't be back staff. Staff not good either short staffed in hotel

The room was clean tidy and well equipped. As we are british we drink tea and the room has two tea bags.... I know you can get them from reception but quite frankly its poor.
We had drinks in the bar prior to eating out with our friends and the bar prices I felt were very reasonable and were cheaper than the restaurant we ate in. However the bar staff (young man) spent most of his time chatting to other members of staff rather than mannin the actual bar. He was polite and courteous but need to pay attention to waiting customers.
Breakfast was as usual superb I hate the tea pots I would prefer simple ones with tea bags and the toast should be brought with the breakfast.

We will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Oban. Glad we spent atleast 2 days here as Oban was one of our favorite spots in Scotland.

Very walkable to everything we did and very close to Lorne which was my wife’s favorite restaurant in the trip (was accordion night) hit up a lot of other restaurants and the views and scenery there are the best.

Staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was delicious. Our room had a great view of the water.

the front desk said we should’ve booked them directly instead of through Expedia because we would’ve gotten a better price. There was no parking except on the street, unless we were supposed to have that added to our reservation by Expedia, which was not done. Again, my only comment would be for such a nice place. Excellent location on the waterfront. Be sure to get a sea view room or otherwise the view could be of the back which faces the alley.

Facility is old and tied and could use a refresh. The spa area which has a sauna, steam room, and heated lounge chair is a nice space.

The Perle Oban is a true gem. Conveniently located near the train and ferry centers, it’s central to everything Oban has to offer. The cooked to order breakfast is generous and the staff is warm and friendly. Sea views can’t be beat. This was my second stay and it was just as lovely as the first!

Noisy Room

The only thing I have to criticize is, that during the whole night our room was sounded by noisy supply water pipes in the walls and several machine noise (probably from kitchen or washing), which didin't became better, although we complained it at the reception.

Beautiful hotel in a cute little town.

Wonderful location in Oban for a visit. Central to the local shopping, restaruants, the distillery, train and ferries. The service and hotel itself were also very nice. I would certainly choose it again if visiting Oban. The only minus was the lack of parking, but it was very easy to find affordable parking nearby.

The rooms at the Perle were the largest we stayed in on our trip. The beds were very comfortable but, just as note, they do move about easily if you’re a restless sleeper. The hotel is old but it was super clean and very well maintained. Check in staff was friendly and helpful.

The ladies at the front counter were wonderful. The decor in the breakfast room/restaurant was gorgeous. The porridge made by the Sous chef was amazing!

The pillows in our room were shameful, hard as a rock and looked old. It was very noticeable that door surfaces on the main floor hadn't been cleaned in a while. The shower pan almost flooded everytime we showered.

Great central location.

The hotel is in a great central location. There is parking close by, along with electric vehicle charging. Room was spotless. Only negative was the channels on the TV didn't work and the bedside lamp bulb didn't work either. The only main issue was the occupants in the adjacent room who were having a fight and arguments for about 5 hours through the night. So we didn't get any sleep. That's not the fault of the hotel though. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Hotel was nice but extremely cold. Heating did not appear to be working in the hotel reception area nor the cocktail lounge. Standard double room was a good sized room but the bathroom was tiny and the shower was very small.
