My partner and I stayed at this beautiful family-owned hotel. We were impressed by the beautiful views from the balcony of our apartment and by the hotel itself. The apartment consisted of a large bedroom, living room / kitchen and bathroom with a balcony overlooking an inlet of the sea.

As a family-owned hotel, it was lovely to meet them all and to be treated with such welcoming kindness. In the evenings, we were often somewhere on the island but if we were at the hotel, they shared their family evening meal, which was always delicious. We felt like we were at home.

The rooms were cleaned daily except Sundays and were immaculate.

Family holiday

A great value hotel. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The pool area is fantastic, and the food available at the pool bar is home-cooked and delicious.
Bedrooms are basic, but who spends much time in the bedroom on holiday anyway?!
Only issue was the beds - mattresses are not comfy at all. But overall, a great holiday location that I would recommend.

It’s good but not the rooms

The area is amazing because it’s very nice, even the staff are nice.

The ambiance is very well kept and nice. But our room is very out dated, like 90s still. In my opinion they need an upgrade to make the rooms level with the pool and the around area of the hotel.

We stayed there just for one night before we go to the airport. But we didn’t sleep well every hour we wakes up because the bed is very uncomfortable and the pillows are very thin :/

Bathroom without Soaps, and no plugs on one side of the bed and there is a lamp but you can’t plug it in.

But the bar area, the pool is amazing even the person at the bar is nice. The food is good as well.

Oh boy, where should I start. When we checked in the owner told us that AC is 7 euros per day, we had to agree so she would hand us the remote. Internet was so slow so don’t count on it. The room smelled, the bed was so uncomfortable, the hotel is situated on a hill, you have to drive through a maze for 15 min to find it and all locations around it almost 30 min away. The pictures advertised for the chairs on the sand near the beach does not exist. This place is basically money milking with no consideration for peoples comfort.

Friendly service, really nice swimming pool, great location. The only problem was that the beds (twin) were not too comfortable -- hard and lumpy. When checking out, we told the receptionist about the beds and she told us if we would have told them sooner, they would have put another mattress on top (whatever that means). But, all in all, we enjoyed our two-day stay.

Idyllic mountain retreat

The Areti is far more like a local family home than a hotel, located in an idyllic mountain village with great views of both the White Mountains and across the bay to the Akrotiri peninsula.The family provide a peaceful friendly environment for their guests. The property contains a large, well maintained and inviting swimming pool and the rooms are very clean and well equipped. The breakfast buffet sets you up for the day, filled with a good variety of healthy/tasty produce from the island. Cannot recommend the Areti highly enough and would be happy to stay here again without a second thought. Please note that a car is required to get the most out of the wonderful location.

Rarely have I stayed in such a wonderful place. The family who own this lovely establishment really go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a very relaxed feel about the place as a result. Perfect for those who crave a bit of peace and quiet. . The pool is a dominant feature and it is kept very clean. The rooms are bright and airy and are well equipped. The pictures which advertise the property really are a true reflection of this hidden gem! I

Fabulous hide-away!

We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of this hotel. It's perched towards the top of a mountain, giving a glorious view of the bay, as well as surrounding mountains. There are a lot of beautiful things to see, should you decide to venture away from the hotel. But if you'd like to be more of a homebody, there is plenty to be done right here. The pool is gorgeous. There's a lovely garden with paths to walk through. There's a little coffee counter (but be aware, it is not always staffed). In the morning, we had a delicious breakfast buffet of traditional Greek items.

It was so reasonably priced and such a wonderful stay. Every time we come through Chania, we plan to stay here.

very relaxing stay at the Areti

I spent 5 days at the Areti and absolutely loved it. It's super quiet, hidden in the hills outside Chania (it's well signposted from the main road). The pool is huge and clean, people were very friendly and chatty. My room was on the ground floor with a view of the sea (13): large, comfortable, kitchen corner with dinner table and a balcony. The staff is very friendly and unobtrusive. This is excellent value for money and I highly recommend it!

There was an extra. charge to use the Aircondition which was 5.00 euros per day and the place takes 2 air conditioners one in the kitchen area and one in the bedroom this was the only hotel that charged for Airconditioning throughout my whole trip

A fabulous hotel in a fabulous place.

I cannot fault this hotel in any way. We arrived late and were welcomed by the proprietor, who had sent use details of how to get there in advance. Very comfortable and large beds, perhaps a bit hard for some people. Excellent breakfast, lovely pool, good sized, clean rooms. We needed to get up very early one day, and we were allowed to take breakfast items the previous day to keep in our fridge.

Perhaps the best thing is the hotel's locations, some 10km outside of Chania Town in a little village with 2 or 3 authentic tavernas. The views from the hotel are stunning. But make sure you have a hire car!

Empezamos regular porque solicité instrucciones para la entrada y no me respondieron. Es cierto que me las habían enviado en un mensaje que recibí meses antes, pero creo que merecía una respuesta.
La habitación era grande y estaba limpia aunque antigua y no muy bien equipada.
Por la mañana la recepcionista nos comunicó que debíamos pagar 21 euros por el uso del aire acondicionado durante tres días, lo cual no habíamos visto nunca. Nos dijo de forma bastante antipática que si no queríamos pagar no tendríamos aire acondicionado, aunque hacía mucho calor ( más de treinta y cinco grados).
El tirador del WC no funcionaba. Lo comunicamos en dos ocasiones y seguía sin funcionar.
Las fotografías publicadas se corresponden con la realidad; sin embargo el sonido que producían las cigarras era insoportable, de manera que no era agradable salir al balcón durante el día.
Pero era peor por la noche: ayer contamos en el balcón (de unos tres metros cuadrados) nueve cucarachas todas correteando a sus anchas. También salían por los desagües de la ducha y del suelo del baño. La higiene por tanto es pésima.
No volveríamos a este establecimiento de ninguna manera.

Séjour de 3 nuits.Arrivée par un temps pluvieux aussi nous n’avons pas pu apprécier ni jouir ni de la vue ni de la piscine .
Bon accueil, Grande chambre , lit confortable mais : pas de bouilloire ni machine à café comme indiqué ; pas de tapis de bain ; 2 maigres savons pour lavabo et douche .
Rideau de douche vieux , usagé , couleur douteuse. Nous avons dû payer le chauffage (7 euros /jour, car la température extérieure était à 14 degrés. Pas de couette mais 2 couvertures à l’ancienne dans une armoire sentant le moisi .

This place is really cozy and the surroudings are so beautiful, it is a perfect place to relax. Couldnt ask for more - it was by far the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The family who runs the hotel is lovely and friendly. Feels like a home away from home. Hotel is kind of middle of nowhere but you also have everything you need at the hotel. Hotel consigliatissimo. Zona tranquillissima e ventilata.
La piscina è perfettamente pulita, con molto verde intorno: ancora più bella di quanto appaia in foto. Mai rimasti senza lettini o zone d'ombra. Stanza confortevole con letto matrimoniale king e balcone con vista sulla baia da sogno.
Wifi e aria condizionata ben funzionanti, come anche frigo e doccia. Tende oscuranti.
Non so come mai due giorni non hanno fatto le pulizie, ma poi sono sempre venuti e hanno pulito bene, con regolare cambio degli asciugamani.

Colazione molto buona con prodotti fatti in casa, frutta, buona varietà di salato, cereali e limmancabile ottimo yogurth greco.

La piscine est spectaculaire, la bâtisse d'un grand charme. Les équipements sont à la hauteur. Il y a un ėtendoir sur la terrasse, pratique lorsque vous rentrez de la plage. Le petit-déjeuner est correct. Par contre la clim est payante (5€), vu la chaleur en été, difficile de pas la prendre...

Εξαιρετικό value for money και πεντακάθαρο!

Στα πλεονεκτήματα του ξενοδοχείου είναι η μεγάλη, καθαρή και ήσυχη πισίνα, η οποία μάλιστα έχει συντηρηθεί άψογα και δεν αφήνει καθόλου αίσθηση παρουσίας χλωρίου. Επίσης μείναμε πολύ ευχαριστημένοι με το πλούσιο πρωινό που μοιάζει περισσότερο με πρωινό ξενοδοχείου 3 ή 4 αστέρων. Επίσης το δωμάτιο ήταν πολύ ευρύχωρο με εξαιρετική θέα προς τη θάλασσα και πεντακάθαρο με μικρή κουζίνα με τα βασικά κουζινικά σκεύη. Άνετη θέση στάθμευσης και σημαντική κι η σήμανση στο δρόμο για να βρεις το ξενοδοχείο. Γνήσια οικογενειακή ατμόσφαιρα με χαμογελαστούς κι ευγενικούς ανθρώπους.
Εάν θα θέλαμε κάτι διαφορετικό στο δωμάτιο, αυτό θα ήταν σίγουρα οι σίτες, καθότι θα βοηθούσε στο να μειωθεί δραστικά ο πληθυσμός των κουνουπιών στο δωμάτιο. Επίσης το μπάνιο, αν και πεντακάθαρο, χρειάζεται ανακαίνιση και ίσως μια ελαφρώς μεγαλύτερη καμπίνα ντουζ.
Κατά τ'άλλα αν μπορούσαμε θα μέναμε περισσότερα βράδια και θεωρούμε ότι για την τιμή είναι πάρα πολύ καλό! Συνιστάται ανεπιφύλακτα!

Hotel bien situé mais prestations moyennes

Hotel bien situé pour visiter l'ouest de la Crète. Bel emplacement, chambre correcte avec une belle vue sur la baie de Souda, piscine agréable. Toutefois ayant séjourné plusieurs fois dans cet établissement nous avons malheureusement constaté une baisse des prestations : Petit déjeuner très moyen (oeufs froids, jus d'orange coupé avec beaucoup d'eau, café insipide et même lait tourné un matin).
Lors de notre arrivée vers 21h30 nous avons été accueilli par une personne qui nous a amené à notre chambre sans explication particulière. La télécommande de la climatisation était posée sur la table de nuit. Nous l'avons donc utilisée pendant notre séjour. Le jour du départ il nous a été réclamé 70€ soit 5 euros/jour pour son utilisation alors que ce tarif ne figure ni à l'accueil, ni dans la chambre, ni sur le contrat hotel.com. De plus le montant nous a été demandé en liquide (!!!) et aucune facture ne nous a été délivrée...Nous avons passé d'agréables séjours dans cet hotel mais nous n'y retournerons pas.

Lugar encantador, apartamento podría ser mejor

Hermoso y tranquilo paraje, bello enjardinado con linda piscina. Desayuno aceptable sin ser espectacular. Atención amable, aunque no de 24 horas. Apartamento amplio pero con falta de mantenimiento: cocina que no funcionaba y poco equipada, colchones de resortes poco cómodos, baño con mampara rota, que se desarmaba a cada momento y ningún ameniti. En un lugar tan alejado, llegar y no tener ni champú para la ducha puede ser un inconveniente poco agradable. Limpieza impecable. El personal, mujeres encantadoras que trataron de solucionar todos nuestros problemas, a pesar de lo cual no pudimos usar la cocina hasta las últimas horas de nuestra estancia. El lugar es alejado, por lo que debe llegarse en auto. Ellas nos consiguieron auto de alquiler con una empresa local sumamente recomendable tanto por su precio como por la atención recibida: Poledas rent a car (gracias Andreas!) que nos esperó en el aeropuerto y nos trasladó a Heraklion desde donde partíamos en Ferry.

Wir waren bereits zum 3. Mal im Areti und der nächste Urlaub dorthin ist schon gebucht! Hier kann man so richtig abschalten und die Seele baumeln lassen! Sehr zuvorkommende und freundliche Gastgeber, ein Traumpool, Zimmer mit herrlichem Panorama und der wöchentliche Barbecue Abend ist auch sehr zu empfehlen! Besonders Tierliebhaber kommen hier voll auf Ihre Kosten! Immer wieder gerne und vielen Dank für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt!

El Hotel y el servicio son geniales, muy atentos, pero si no vas con coche de alquiler mejor no coger, está muy lejos de todo.

Nice swimmingpool, but the location of the hotel is not very good. Reccomend to rent a car so you can visit other places around in the area. Nice staff who always wish you the best.

Smukt hotel med flot udsigt

Jeg og min kæreste havde et dejligt ophold på Areti hotel. Hotellet er omgivet af bjerge og med den smukkeste udsigt til vandet. Der er en dejlig ro på hotellet, dog var der flere børnefamilier end vi havde regnet med. Personalet er super søde og man føler sig virkelig velkommen der! Vi boede i en studio lejlighed og det var ganske udemærket. Der er meget lydt på værelserne, så man kan høre de andre hotelgæster. Det eneste minus er, at man ligger langt væk fra alt, så bil er en nødvendighed.

Sehr schönes Hotel

Waren schon zum 2. Mal da. Besonders schön ist der grosse Pool, den man oft für sich alleine hat. Nette Besitzer. Auto ist erforderlich.

Vuorten viileydessä helmi

Kaunis ja seesteinen hotelli vuorten raikkaudessa. Lyhyt matka lentokentältä ja ystävällinen henkilökunta. Hotellin pihassa ramppasi naapurin kissoja ja koiria. Jos et ole eläinystävä, vältä tätä paikkaa.

Evite à y aller chez ce hôtel parce qu'il faut payer 5€ par jour pour climatisation et de plus, matin du petit déjeuner n'est pas bon goût comme des nourritures \"premier prix\", ça coûte moins cher. Dans la chambre, elle n'est pas propre au sol à notre arrivé et elle est vieille déco et triste sauf beau balcon. Un point positif est magnifique à la piscine, c'est tout. Accueil et serviteur sont assez sympa.
