We liked quiet spot with water front views. Room's we're quirky and open, but would have appreciated air conditioning and WiFi extender to the room. Also no coffee available 24/7. This would be nice. And mistakes made with invoicing in hotels favour with no apology

We have stayed Al Faro 4 times now and always found it to be excellent in every way. The staff are all extremely friendly, welcoming and efficient. The hilltop position is stunning and the pool fabulous. Food is always very good and varied. Being picked up and dropped off by speedboat always makes it special too. Rooms are very comfortable and have stunning views.

Great for a getaway

We spent 3 days first in Al Faro then 3 days in the town and were suprised by the stark contrast between the two. The former can be a little quiet, if you seeking to relax and admire the beautiful views, but can be too boring as you are isolated. The latter is chaotic and dirty but you have more access to services and attractions in the area, bar/ restaurants, bank, boats, hot spring etc.

Lovely setting

Great range of excursions available. Really enjoyed the snorkelling. Views of sunset are unsurpassable.
Food cooked well. Friendly and helpful staff.
Could do with slightly more communal space around the pool/bar/restaurant if large groups staying, but veranda by bungalow helps make up for that.
Very popular location with plenty of people choosing to spend an evening there even if they’re not residents.

Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, few amentities

My husband and I visited Al Faro for one weekend. The island was beautiful and the staff were friendly and accommodating but there were fewer amenities than we expected: WiFi was only turned on from 6 am to 10 pm and available only in the dining area, no air conditioning, no hot water, and no conditioner (shampoo only). When the WiFi was on, we still had trouble connecting. Overall, it was a nice, relaxing weekend but we would have enjoyed it more if we knew what to expect.

Also, expect to spend a lot of money once you do arrive at the hotel - you can visit nearby islands during the day but it cost about $40 a trip, exclusive of island fees and meals. There isn't anything walkable around the hotel either so the only food option was at the hotel. It's also useful to know that you can settle your bill with credit card but they add a 3% fee.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views. Room with separate terrace with day beds and hammock was brilliant. Great food and staff. Lovely pool and massage area. Nothing we didn’t like but it would be good to have some flat sun beds around as well as the shaped ones? Would also have been nice if the bar could have stayed open later.

This place is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and I've stayed in many beautiful hotels like London's The Shard and Bali's Ayana Resort. This place is amazing in a non-boujie type of way. It's simple, yet breath taking. The staff is extremely accommodating and the ambiance is so relaxing. There is no wifi in the room, so be prepared to be in the moment and enjoy everything technology-free. The way up to the reception area is a bit of a trek, so be ready for some daily exercise! The staff was kind enough to upgrade us to what they call the 'honeymoon suite' and as soon as I got a glimpse of the view, I had to stop and think 'what did i ever do to deserve this -- to wake up to this everyday for the next few days...' I am so grateful to have experienced this hotel. I definitely plan on coming back. Maraming salamat po, Al Faro Cosmio 💖

We had a 3 day stay at Al Faro. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great and we couldn’t relax by the pool, but we felt that the hotel didn’t really provide any sort of entertainment. A bit boring as the hotel is located on a peninsula from which you have to arrange a boat if y want to go somewhere...
at some point during the evening we were rushed to go back to the room (Only just after 8 pm) as there was not other guests in the restaurant and staff was making us feel they are waiting for us... so we felt a bit uncomfortable and decided to have an early night.
In regards to rooms... those are mainly bungalows. Not great for people who don’t like insects... as there are holes everywhere and once you put the light on there is a mass of flies mosquitoes and other little creatures....
the only thing that may u feel better is that the bed can be covered (check the picture) and there is a fan inside too so you can actually breathe.. no air con in the room, and no tv... WiFi is also very weak and works only in the lobby....
ohhhh and no hot water! If u dislike cold showers like or me you will also struggle a little.

The food in the restaurant is good but quite pricey... we went to many good places in Philippines in which we paid much less, but again I guess it’s because you are only left with that optiin
Over all the place needs some technological advancements to be fair.really cool place to relax, in the middle of nowhere really, so perfect if you want to disconnect ;)

Simply amazing place to stay!

Simply amazing place to stay! Well designed from the heart and great attention to service.

This is one of those places that makes getting away from it all real. Exceptional rooms and comfort, great views from the hilltop pool and food that was just delicious. The staff went beyond to ensure your comfort levels were met and arranged activities according to needs.

Despite no air con, no hot water, poor wifi, this place really ticked all the boxes in terms of high level of comfort and service. I'm so happy I stayed in such a fine place that has a soul.

Highly Recommend!

Great food and views, but soooo many bugs. Ecolodge, so they don't spray anything down. No amenities aside from small pool, a set of steep stairs for exercise & the restaurant. Great massages daily for only PHP 500/person. Happy hour drinks PHP 50. Manager Sharon was great.

Unique hotel in Coron

It's an amazing experience to stay at Al Faro. Stunning view over the water and surrounding islands from very comfortable and private bungalows. The hotel, food and service are outstanding for the price as evidenced by the low availability compared to other more expensive resorts nearby. Would come here again as it surpasses any accommodation we have had in multiple trips to Philippines.

Fantastic relaxing hotel

We had a great stay here, the bungalows have great views and nice reading areas. You mostly eat at al faro as it is quite remote but the food was very enjoyable especially the pizzas which are top class! Overall excellent one small complaint is non residents who come to eat at the restaurant should not be entitled to use the pool for their kids _ a little bit annoying when trying to relax!

Only downside was the arrival of blow ins from Luke's backpackers nearby who weren't staying there and took over the pool and bar with totally inappropriate behaviour. Run for your room if it occurs again

Heaven in Paradise.

This was the best hotel we could ask for. I got into a motorbike accident and the hotel staff did EVERYTHING they could to take care of me. They went to town and got me gauze/medicine, constantly came down to my room to cater to any needs, one of the staff members, Sharon, even would clean/rewrap my wounds... NO CHARGE. The service was impeccable and the views from the rooms, common area, pool.. (Gosh just about everywhere) was impeccable! Town is a bit far away but the hotel has an extensive selection of food to choose from and every meal was beyond delicious (if that's even possible). They also provided excursions so a trip to town was not necessary. All of this at more than fair pricing. The people there are happy and seem like a family. The energy of the hotel was beautiful. I will miss it dearly. If you're looking for a nice getaway from it all, look no further.

Very nice!

Very nice hotel and very friedly and helpful staff.
The balconies of the rooms are great for relaxing. The view is amazing and the pool-area great for relaxing.
You can do dive and snorkeltrips, but you have always to arrange it by the hotel, because there is no more infrastructure around.

A MUST if you want a relaxing stay in Coron

We stayed at the Al Faro Cosmio Hotel for four nights- and we'll definately come back-
leaving this awesome
place was really difficult cause we even felt a little home after our stay.
Great staff, especially Nenita, the owner, you does everything she can so that you feel home. Everybody is really friendly and ambicious to make your stay unforgettable.
The Bungalows are amazingly built, the view is breathtaking with a perfect sundowner while having a nice drink in or around the pool or the open constructed restaurant ( should try the seafood pasta! ).
Prices for food and drinks are good- quality is very good, daily changing special menu.
Rooms are cleaned everyday, fresh towels whenever you need them, fresh flowers- lots of lovely details everywhere.
There's a sort of shady yoga area where you can do exercises.
The hotel is close to a variety of atrractions- we booked a boat to go to a wreck, the coral gardens ( which were amazing- we even saw a seaturtle ) and a perfect white beach- we shared the boat with two other guest from the hotel which costs about 1000p/ person.

Summarizing all those facts we booked that place cause we needed a little change after a daring backpacking journey in rather cheap hostels and we read some good rewiews in lonely planet and expedia- but what we got was even better!
so dont hesitate! you'll love it!

Wish we had a few more days at Al Faro!

We stayed only two nights at Al Faro but wish it were for longer! It was a real change of scenery from the hustle and bustle of Coron town (where we spent a few days before)- the location is beautiful, the staff very attentive, helpful (taking our multiple heavy bags up the steep climb there!) and happy, and the dinners were v good too! It is the perfect place to relax, which you can do either in your own bungalow - which they make a place to chill in itself with a hammock and little bed outside the room, or in the communal area and pool. The only thing that could make the rooms more comfortable is air con - and the wifi a little stronger/available in room as well as in communal areas.

We went there for our 'down' days as we did island hopping etc when staying in Coron town, but not sure what the arrangements are like for doing activities from Al Faro so cannot comment. Worth keeping in mind that the trip to town and airport is quite expensive and takes 45 min-1hr so factor it in to any costs/planning. But I think it's closer to some of the main wreck dive sites so could work in your favour if including diving in your trip!

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay v much and would love to come back! It was a hotel we will remember as a part / feature of the trip , and not just somewhere we functionally slept in. So was well worth the distance travelled!

Al Faro = Paradise

We stayed in Al Faro at the beginning of November, booked the tower room (honeymoon Suite) for 3 nights but we extended our stay with further two nights, we just didn't want to leave. It's the most amazing place we'd ever stayed. Loved the architecture of the light house as well as the bungalows. Nenita went over and above to make our stay as smooth as possible. She made sure every single guest in her place is happy. Whatever we needed, she was there to help us. Her crew was fantastic too, everyone is smiling all day. We felt like we were surrounded by friends and they were all working on making our stay happy. Al Faro is the perfect place to chill, put the phone away and enjoy nature. We have seen the most amazing sunsets from the hotel's pool!

Like living on an island 'lighthouse'

Have never been to Busuanaga and had no idea about where to stay hence I chose the hotel by the pictures on hotel.com. I was pleasantly surprised when the pictures matched the actual. I stayed in the tower, impressive; it's like living in a lighthouse watching the sun rise over the hills and bay and setting over the ocean sipping icy cold beers. I think I was the last visitor for the season but still got the full treatment and support from the staff. The food was above awesome and the service 'spot-on' including arranging action filled activities. To get there you'll have to take a short boat ride. Ask the staff if the tide is high to travel via the mangrove route- picturesque and peaceful.

Hotel with a breathtaking view of the bay

It took an hour to get to the resort from the airport. Since you'd have to ride a chartered van and a boat, transfers are a bit costly. If you are traveling as a group, costs could easily be shared, but for couples this comes out as a bit pricey. I immediately fell in love I with the view that the hotel offered. The travel to this almost- hidden- resort provided the privacy that I was hoping for. The staff were very warm and easy to talk to. Probably the only downside of this hotel is it being far away from the activities and tours that one could easily have access to at the Coron town. Tours can be arranged from the hotel, but due to the hotel's location, they may come out more expensive than joining a small group. Overall, if intimacy and privacy is the goal of one's trip, this is the place to go. For snorkeling and tours, a better option (in terms of location and cost- efficiency) would be to stay somewhere closer to town.

Das Al Faro Cosmio Hotel ist eine Unterkunft mit herausragendem Service und einem besonderen Flair. Die Zimmer sind als Bungalows gestaltet, die an einem steilen Hang verteilt und von vielen tropischen Pflanzen umgeben sind. Die Fenster der Bungalows sind nicht verglast, sondern haben nur ein grobmaschiges Gitter, sodass es keine Klimaanlage und nur einen Ventilator gibt. Durch einen angenehmen Durchzug vom Meer her kann man aber dennoch sehr gut schlafen und die Ufo-artigen Bungalows schaffen eine einzigartige Atmosphäre im Hotel. Die Angestellten sind sehr zuvorkommend und haben uns mit Namen angesprochen; es gibt nur ca. 12 Zimmer, sodass das Hotel nie voll wirkt. Zum Hotel gelangt man nur per Boot, der Transfer auf das Festland ist aber jederzeit möglich und kostenlos. Da sich rund um den Anlegesteg am Festland nur ein weiteres Café befindet, ist man de facto zu jeder Zeit auf das Hotelrestaurant angewiesen. Auch bei der Fahrt vom/zum Flughafen hat man praktisch keine andere Möglichkeit, als den Flughafentransfer von 2,000 PHP zu wählen. Die Preise des Hotelrestaurants sind zwar unter europäischem Preisniveau, aber doch 2-3x so teuer wie das normale philippinische Preisniveau in Restaurants und Cafés auf der Insel. Als Gast sollte man sich dessen bewusst sein und ein ausreichend großes Budget für den Aufenthalt im Al Faro Hotel einplanen - uns hat diese Situation etwas überrascht, aber dem Genuss des Aufenthalts keinen Abbruch getan.

Highly recommend it if you are fine without some luxuries like airco - the very unique rooms and views to die for make up for it through and through. Très bel hotel avec une superbe vue. Service impecable et ils organisent des excursions pour le island hopping.
2 points négatifs a apporter: La localisation: il faut savoir que pour accéder à l'hotel il faut impérativement les contacter car le seul moyen est par la mer.
Le prix des boissons et repas: beaucoup trop cher.. ils se rattrapent sur le fait qu'ils sont isolés et du coup augmentent le prix des consommations. A cela, il faut encore rajouter 7% de service charge.

Bel hôtel très calme mais situé tout en haut d une colline qu'il faut grimper à pieds.... Pas évident pour tous.
Vue magnifique mais piscine avec eau trouble pendant tout notre séjour. On ne voyait pas nos pieds dans 1,20 d'eau. Notre récupération au port a été oubliée et nous avons dû attendre plus d une heure en pleine chaleur avec notre fille de 3 ans après 4h de bateau.
La nourriture au restaurant est basique et plus chère qu ailleurs. La chose la plus folle, que je n ai jamais vu dans tous les hôtels que J ai fait, c est qu'il faut aller demander à la réception à chaque fois que l on veut de l eau chaude pour la douche....
Incroyable. Personnel très sympathique mais il manque très nettement un responsable pour répudier à toutes ces contraintes pour que cela soit top !

Little pearl with beautiful sunsets

Very beautiful small resort with pool in well kept hilly garden area. The swiss owner is a little atrist with a sence of unorthodox architecture. He and his staff is very helpful and friendly. They use solar panels to produce electricity, so it's not enought to run aircons or TV. But end of February there was always a cool brise at night. Good food at the restaurant. Close by you'll find the best snorkelling in Coron area: Beautiful Pass island and Lusong coral garden. Boat costs 3000 pesos for more than 2 people, 2500 pesos if you are alone or 2. There are Kayaks,, free for guests. Take them to explore the nearby wreked waterplane ore the mangroves. You'll stay on a hilly peninsula far away from Coron: So don't expect any nightlife, be satisfied with the sunset and the calm of nature. Only disadvantage are the noisy fisherboats leaving the bay in early morning.

Genial, wir hatten Glück das letzte Zimmer für 4 Nächte über Silvester zu ergattern. Auch im Lonely Planet wird dieser Juwel empfohlen und es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir weitere 7 Nächte geblieben sind. Perfekte Location, toller Blick vom Pool, Tauchbasis mit super Wracktauchmöglichkeiten 2 Minuten entfernt, Bootstouren ab Hotel zu den umliegenden Inseln, Massagen und Yoga. Auch Motorrad/Roller Verleih wird angeboten und hat problemlos funktioniert. Man hat hier nicht den Trubel von Coron aber alles was man sonst so braucht. Die Duschen sind entgegen mancher Bewertungen Warm solange man Bescheid sagt an der Rezeption wenn man es benötigt. Auch Wifi funktioniert wenn man mal den richtigen Hotspot gefunden hat. Preise/Qualität für Essen und Getränke für Hotel voll in Ordnung. Unsere Favoriten Kinilaw und Lato-Salat. Normal sind wir keine Wiederkehrer aber hier würden wir tatsächlich wiederkommen. Danke Al Faro!!!!

The hotel and the place are amazing for the view and because it’s located middle of nowhere (Good and bad). But, what we didn’t like is that a navette is coming to pick you up at the airport and then the hotel bill you 2000p for that even thought you never ask for it. Be aware if a navette comes to pick you up it won’t be free if you never requested it.
The hotel don’t communicate enough and you’re tributary of the hotel whatever you want to do outside.
The swinging pool seems a little dirty since the water is cloudy.

Vill man bo ett bit bort från Coron city men ändå nära till öar/ stränder/ sevärdheter är detta ställe perfekt. Superfint ställe med jättefin personal , som hjälper till och ordnar allt man vill göra . Har man möjlighet så boka en bungalow mot havet och så har man ha en underbar utsikt/ solnedgång när man sitter på altanen . Men man ska veta att det är ett tuff trappa/ gång upp till hotellet så man springer inte upp och ner , lämnar inte hotellet så ofta . För oss var det inga problem vi trivdes så bra och maten var jättebra .

帰りも同じで、チャターすると片道5000円近くかかります。
