When I went out for an appointment my newly was stolen. The staff were very nice & thepropert was charming . The location was good. However having my jewelry stolen was a downer as . Besides the monetary value, it had sentimental value.

Parking was minimal, the staff at the check-in desk were so friendly and helpful. Some rooms required going up and down stairs. Kitchen had minimal utensils. Electric plugs near the areas where laptops would be used would help. The traffic on the road outside the hotel was extremely loud.

I enjoyed my stay at Suites Santo Domingo. The room was spacious and felt very authentic. The staff was very friendly and the laundry service was fast. Overall, the property is beautiful and I love the open air feel of it. The view from the patio area upstairs is amazing.

The main downside was that the bathroom needs some attention, particularly the shower. At full blast, it was not much to work with.

I think I need to mention that the hotel is up a hill. While being on the hill allows for the gorgeous view, walking up that hill is difficult and taxing. If you want to take a taxi back every night, then it's no problem, and taxis are certainly easy to get in San Miguel. If you're someone who wants to be able to walk everywhere without needing a taxi, the hill may break your spirit.

The Suites Santo Domingo was a pleasant place to stay, although my room was over the street (more like an alley) and it was noisy from early in the morning until late in the evening. I had to laugh when I saw the electronic safe in the closet had its’ power cord hanging down and there was not an outlet to plug it into. Luckily I didn’t have valuables I needed to store in a safe. The staff was very responsive, although the young lady at check in stated that she was the only one that spoke English. You just need to download the WhatsApp and communicate through that. They are able to copy and translate what you say to them and do the reverse for their responses. The hotel had a lovely open area in the back at it overlooked the scenic landscape. My friend had a room in the back and I would recommend that you try for a room back there. My room was in need of some repair, the door knob on the bathroom door was close to falling off and the cold water in the bathroom sink barely dribbled out. My friend had problems with the hot water in his bathroom. But with all, of that said, I would stay there again.

Suites Santo Domingo was a perfect stay! It was my first time visiting San Miguel de Allende and the location of this hotel was perfect. It is not directly located in the center, but it is a short 10 minute walk. It is located next to a school which was pleasant. The building is gorgeous and vibrant; it has an authentic feel to it. Staff was wonderful and helpful and the attention to cleanliness is greatly appreciated. Overall, amazing experience and will definitely stay here again.

All suites have cooking facilities but it does very per room. Loved staying there but it is easier going down to town than climbing back up.taxis and Uber available.

We loved our stay here. It is a beautiful, authentic property, gives a very good feeling and like stepping back in time. Super quiet! We absolutely love historic buildings, but if you're looking for renovated, modern, this is not it, because it is a bit worn and rustic.
The outdoor areas are gorgeous, beautiful courtyard, and great view. A short walk down to the center!
Beds were amazing! They had a fridge, microwave, kitchen sink (had to ask for dishwasher liquid though), coffee maker and coffee kit each day as well as a bottle of water. Cutlery, plates, glasses, coffee mugs, cooking.
We were there during a heatwave and there is no AC, so be aware. They had a fan, but during the heatwave we had to keep door and windows open, we were so hot. I will assume that under more normal circumstances, the fan is enough. I saw they have extra blankets as well for when the weather is cooler.
The internet worked pretty well.
I wish they would specify which room you get online, because all photos of our room type showed rooms with a dining table. When we got there we had a coffee table and kitchen bar (chairs not tall enough), so for me who was going to work during my stay, I had no comfortable space to sit with my laptop to work for several hours. I could've asked to change it possibly, but we loved other features so we stayed. But maybe ask in advance or state what furniture you require (incl beds: ours said one queen, but we got two full beds, that worked better in our case).

SMA great location authentic room

The building and hotel room were VERY authentic. The courtyard was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was felt a little beat up, but it was clean, the shower had scalding hot water (if that's your thing), and the bed was pretty comfortable (kinda soft for one of us, but that's a personal preference).

The location was GREAT. Just a short walk a few blocks to the big town square (where it all goes down), and we felt safe walking back and forth, even at night (not wee hours of morning though). Just keep your head on a swivel for all of the cars that are supposed to give pedestrians the right of way!

We had a bedside lamp that didn't work. The TV worked great. Unfortunately we didn't have Internet for 2 days, and I don't think it was the hotel's fault. We just sucked it up and used our phone data for those two days. Once we got our WiFi back, it was a solid connection at about 30-40 Mbps down.

We were supposed to have a kitchen, and we did get a kitchen table and some cutlery, but light on cooking utensils (we like to cook). No towels or cloths for cleaning dishes, and no dish soap (we bought some and left it there). The stove was an old camping type propane two-burner and there was no way to light it, so we just didn't fight it, and didn't use it at all. We got prepared or precooked food the entire time we were there.

They close the doors at 10:30pm and you have to ring to get in, which was a nice built in safety measure.

Overall we were very happy, with a few caveats.

SSD was Perfect for me !!

I chose SSD because of its location near the Centro/Historico district. I did NOT want a modern hotel, I wanted a hotel that provided a taste of \"old\" Mexico. SSD was perfect. Clean, comfortable and culturally correct. The owners bent over backwards to
help make my trip easy and pleasant. If you want original and clean, you'll like SSD. If you want chrome and plastic, SSD is not for you.

Suites Santo Domingo is located near everything but on a higher part of the city, meaning, you will have to walk up the hill and it is very exhausting. Other than that, it’s close to everything, and the suite itself was lovely, with strong Wi-Fi in the bedroom. It felt like home. Staff was friendly and the suite was kept clean. You can save money on breakfast by having it at home. They have everything a family needs: fridge, small stove, pots and pans, plates and cups. I would return, our time there was enjoyable. The only cons was that some people who stay there can be very loud late night. All that talking woke us up. But it’s not the hotel’s fault.

I like it was a straight shot the center of san miguel de allende. About 8 minute walk which was so pleasant. I stay in a standard room, had no idea it has a livjng room and dining area, small kitchen and fireplace. I liked it; it would be ideal to use if traveling with others. The patio was to die for, i loved all the plants and how the terrace had a beautiful look tobthe city. Was very nice, staff very friendly.

Es una linda casa con decoración agradable. Es como si te quedaras en la casa de la abuela pues es acogedora. Sin embargo ya le hace falta mantenimiento pues la regadera no funcionaba bien y cuando solicitamos arreglo este nunca llegó. Una de las manijas del lavabo del baño se safaba al usarse. Tuvimos varios insectos visitantes. Algo que funcionó muy bien fue el pequeño patio para nuestra mascota y también para sentarse a tomar un refrigerio. Elmpersonal muy amable. Ubicación muy buena.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Rooms are suites with a bedroom, kitchen and sitting room. A low rise building set into the hillside, with decks and lawn on three levels. San Miguel de Allende is a pricier than average destination, but this hotel is quite reasonable compared to the average cost. Secure parking on the premises, close to the center of town. Hot water, woo-hoo! (It can be a rarity). I'm travelling with two dogs, so \"pet-friendly\" is the first term on my searches. There is a pet fee, also reasonable at 200 pesos per day per pet.

The suite was charming and quaint. Beautiful elevated view. It’s in a quiet part of the city which is nice to come back to at the end of the day. The chambermaid Lupe is wonderful—so helpful, so sweet.

The walk up the hill is hard on some elderly people and those not used to exercise. But it’s a good way to burn off some taco calories.

My only complaint is that the hotel needs to invest in better quality pillows.

San Miguel de Allende is wonderful at Christmas. The views from our suite were great and we loved the \"Hacienda\" style courtyard and property. Probably the most comfortable bed we have ever had in Mexico - and we had a King which is sometimes hard to find. We had a minor problem with hot water that was addressed immediately by Guerillmo. Be prepared for some steps (often without handrails because this is a beautiful classic place.) Because it was December we didn't use the cute patio or semi-private garden area but it looked inviting.

This place has charm!

Definitely clean and with lots of charm I got to see 5 rooms since family stayed here too. All rooms are very unique and equally nice. They look just like the pics. However, because the property is older, we had issues. We never had hot water despite telling front desk 3 times. Did not see concern or effort to fix the hot water issues. Offered to change me to other room but that one also lacked hot water. Toilet didn’t want to flush, had to manually open lid to flush from inside tank. Felt like the olden days boiling water on stove to create a warm bath. I suppose that is part of the historic experience.

Perfect beautiful base to explore San Miguel From

Charming, spotless, artfully appointed cottage walking distance form all the major sights! We stayed in room #8 and it was isolated in the garden and a wonderful spot for our honeymoon. So spacious and quirkily decorated, fitting with the eclectic style of San Miguel. Great staff stayed up late to check us in after our flight was delayed. Beautiful courtyard filled with plants of all varieties welcomes upon arrival! Definitely will stay here again!

Feeling of Home

First of all, San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful city set on a hill. And Suites Santo Domingo is like our home during our recent visit. Our spacious accommodation came with a cosy en-suite bedroom, a fireplace, a small dining area and a kitchenette complete with a mid-sized fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker and a cooking stove complete with cook ware & eating utensils. Not that we needed to cook with the restaurants and shops all within walking distance. The walk to the shops and back to the hotel was manageable after which we are rewarded with a gorgeous view of the surroundings from the hotel verandah. Edwin and Luis at reception must be commended for their warm welcome, showing us our room amenities, giving suggestions on touring the city and arranging our taxi ride to the bus station. We are thankful for the strong wifi connection and a TV with a few English language channels. If we have to find fault, it will be the low water pressure for the shower.

A peaceful stay in San Miguel

The hotel is old and quaint. It is not in the luxury category, but it is surprisingly comfortable and full of character. It provides a great view of the city, as it is situated close to the top of a hill. It is comfortably within walking distance to the town, town square, restaurants and shops. However, if you are older, walking down the hill may be easy, but walking back up may be difficult, so just take a taxi when you are ready to return. The bedding was quite comfortable with nice linens , and the bathroom linens were really nice as well. Most of the hotel staff does not speak english, but they were all none the less extremely helpful, and made efforts to communicate. \"Luis\" at the reception desk spoke very good english, and was able to assist on several occasions. We would recommend to friends or relatives.

The courtyard and gardens were especially lovely. The room was basic, but very clean. My room was on the street, a small street, but was a little noisy early in the morning. There were other rooms off the central courtyard and gardens that would have been quiet. The location was very convenient to the central, old part of town.

Beautiful colonial hacienda

This is a lovely hotel in an old Mexican home with old tile and beautiful center patio with fountain and outside landscaping with bouganvilla. The suites are charming with the tile and bright with windows. Furnished kitchens are wonderful. Rooms are on upstairs terrace with to die for view of the garden and city. I loved this hotel! My idea of the perfect place to stay in Mexico. On the edge of the Centro, so walking distance to everywhere in town, but very quiet.

It was only one night stay to catch an early morning fly back to USA. The bed has an old mattress that squeak at any movement, the pillows had an unpleasant smell, the toilet paper was hard as sand paper and there was absolutely no silverware . Besides the stairway to the rooms is not wide enough and to top it all the manager is prejudice against special needs individuals.

At Check in the girls there where very kind in helping me out with no problem. Later, I came back from an outing and my Special needs granddaughter started to cry. The manager came out yelling at us while I was trying to explain she was only up setting my granddaughter. The manager as she claimed, told us that we could no longer stay at hotel and that we needed to leave. Thankfully the police did come and talked to the manager and clammed her down and told her that it was illegal to discriminate a special needs person. She had no choice to let us stay. The room was a suite, had a small kitchen with only 2 plates, no knifes, spoons, or forks. The beds where very uncomfortable, like I was sleeping on cardboard. Would Truly not recommend

This is a small house with private backyard and rooftop seating. The house has a fireplace, full cooking facilities, good bathroom with shower over bath and large comfy bed. The staff don't speak English but were wonderfully helpful despite the language barrier. On site parking and short walk to the centre of town. Highly recommended!!

We arrived there and none of the staff spoke even a word or English. Luckily, I speak ok Spanish so I was able to communicate. Our electricity was out in our room and the staff was content to let it stay out indefinitely. I had to ask if they knew where the circuit breaker was, and flip the switch myself, in order to get the electricity to work in my room. It was also freezing. There was no heat, only one small fireplace in the foyer of the suite - no fireplace in the bedroom. We had to pay for logs for a fire, which didn't even heat the foyer, let alone the bedroom. The water in the bathroom sink did not go down so the bathroom sink was filled with water and we could not use it. The shower barely got hot. The kitchen sink water was cold water only. Several of the windows were permanently painted open, so there was no way to close them and try to get the suite warmer. Very disappointed.

We checked in late (9pm) and the male receptionist greeted us in the street by our taxi then led us to our room. It was a suite with two smaller individual beds despite my request for a suite with a large bed for my wife, baby and I. The suite was also not the \"luxury suite\" that I'd reserved. After explaining the issue, the receptionist talked with the hotel owner and arranged a switch to a suite of the specification we'd actually booked, with a larger bed. This was a disappointing experience after a very tiring journey.

The suites are generous in size and the free wifi internet worked well for downloads but upload speeds were not great (think Google+ Hangouts and Skype calls). The location of the hotel is ok. A 15 minute walk down a narrow cobbled street takes you to the historic center of town. The suites include small kitchens, so there's the opportunity to prepare your own food. The hotel itself offered no food - not even breakfast - but rooms do include coffee machines with complimentary water and coffee (actually rather good), so we ate leftover pizza from the night before, then headed out in search of local cafes.

In retrospect, I wish I had paid a little more to stay at a more modern hotel more centrally located.

En general el lugar, bien. Las personas que atienden, excepcional de amables.
Dos temas relevantes
El primero, no hay presión de agua en la regadera, así que para bañarse, solo sale un \"chorrito\" que apenas alcanza para mojarse de a poco. Como andaba corto de tiempo, no le notifiqué en el lugar
Segundo, el mobiliario no solo es viejo, huele a viejo. La ropa de cama no huele a limpio. Como que están acostumbrados a recibir clientes por estadías largas y no cambian la roma de cama o limpian diariamente las habitaciones

Estaba limpio sin embargo había moscas en la habitación.
La taza del sanitario tardaba en llenar
La estufa considero que debe ser más moderna
El servicio de. Café y agua no lo pudieron a tiempo se pidió
Los controles de la TV funcionen correctamente.
No había cerrojo de seguridad y la chapa no tiene seguro.
Pero en general el lugar es agradable.
Que después de las 7 no hay personal para abrir la puerta principal

Buen hotel, suites muy bien equipadas, precio muy razonable y la mejor ubicación, está ubicado a 5 calles de la Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel, solo de regreso la subida es un poco pesada, pero lo vale por lo conveniente del lugar

En general fue muy grata la estancia, el personal es extra amable. Es accesible, cercano a la plaza principal, solo el regreso como es subida es pesado si vas caminando, pero el estacionamiento es un excelente servicio. Lo único que destacaría no tan positivo es que el internet no llega a la habitación, también faltan algunas cosas en la cocina, pedimos jabón para lavar unos platos y no llegó. Fuera de esto último todo muy bien, muy bonita la habitación que elegí

El lugar es tranquilo y agradable. Tiene una terraza en la parte de arriba en la que puedes tomar el sol. El acceso es fácil pero ten en cuenta que está en picada, o sea que la bajada será fácil pero la subida, no tanto. El.personal es muy amable y servicial y por el precio el lugar lo vale. Muy recomendable.

Unos dias en San Miguel fueron muy agradables, solo algunas recomendaciones, conviene hospedarse cerca del centro para manejarse a pie, pues el trafico en auto es de locura y hay muy pocos lugares para estacionar, generalmente solo en estacionamiento publico y esta muy caro 40.00/hora
