Wonderful, beautiful tropical paradise. Truly a family run operation where the staff goes out of its way to make your stay perfect. Location, next to the old Monastery provides a quiet atmosphere. Although steps away is the Las Frailes Calle with many bars and restaurants. We parked our car and walked to everything.

Beautiful hotel but the room we were shown was not the room we were given. Also do not stay if you get a room next to the street! (Room 10 was ours).. There are two original old wood doors with stain glass that were not operational and just there for show.. zero sound barrier to the street and cars. Impossible to sleep. When I mentioned it to the staff they told me to book a room further back in the property next time (even though I believe that was the room I booked based on the photos).. it’s a shame because otherwise it’s a beautiful place.

We had an amazing time in Valladolid, there is so much to do around this town, and the hotel is close to everything. The staff is friendly and really helpful in providing great recommendation of places and restaurants. I recommend getting the complete breakfast in this hotel because you don’t want to miss those yummy chilaquiles.

Used it for one night and enjoyed a nice dinner blocks away. Hotel is simple but still well done, good location and with a beautiful courtyard that is quite peaceful for a morning breakfast. The property is across the street from the ex- convent and only a 15 to 20 minute walk from the centre of the city. There are several restaurants nearby. There is a lovely garden and a small pool. We had the designer suite(room 10). It was quite large and nicely furnished. The bathroom was also large. Tge shower good and the towels large. There was a comfortable king bed. The lighting was subdued except for the bathroom which was good. The included breakfast was continental one with fruit yogurt granola and rolls.
The only issue wirh our room was it was next to the road and when vehicles went by often they were noisy. But it became quiet later at night so it did not affect our sleep.

We loved our stay in our own private room! What a beautiful place, wish we had this kind of room for our whole Yucatan trip. The kitchen and hammock were so enjoyable (so much better than just sitting on our beds at night). The only thing I was a little bummed about was that the pool looked murky and under-maintained. We did not swim. (It must be hard to upkeep it in the bountiful courtyard garden).

Lovely little hotel right next to the old convent in Valladolid. We had a spacious room with a huge bathroom. The courtyard/garden area is really beautiful. Staff were friendly and breakfast was superb.

Service was above and beyond exceptional! The day after we checked out, my daughter realized she had left her AirPods in our room. I called the hotel and talked to Marcos. Housekeeping found the AirPods and within one hour Marcos had arranged for them to be delivered to our hotel in Mérida (2 1/2 hours away) the next day.

We asked for help finding a driver to take us to several cenotes, and they found someone who was a perfect fit for us. We will never consider staying anywhere else in Valladolid. Casa Quetzal has a lovely courtyard and nice, spacious rooms. You can hear roosters and church bells from the courtyard. The breakfasts were simple, but delicious, and the staff were very friendly. We arrived on Christmas Day and our flight was late, so the desk was already closed when we arrived. However, they left a note on the door and a phone number for us to call so that we could get into our rooms. We never had the opportunity to make arrangements for the spa, because the desk hours were limited. However, it was a nice stay and I would recommend the place to other visitors.

The property is in a good location and is clea. What we did not like is the fact that there was a particular guest that was watching porn in his laptop in the hallway. He was very inappropriate. We brought it up to management but they said they could not do anything because he was a paying guest. We had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and were traveling with kids so we decided to leave. I still got charged for one night for each one of the rooms. Management needs realize what the limit is on what a guest can and cannot do.

The Bungalow is so unique, wonderfully designed, comfortable, and really makes you feel like you're staying in the middle of the jungle. The bungalow comes equipped with a full kitchen, private hammock, and dining area. They also had a delicious breakfast of a fruit, yogurt, granola and various assortment of breads.
The only downsides were that there was no air conditioning, and the living area does not lock (although the room does). Overall, I would definitely recommend this room to those who want a unique experience in Valladolid!

The room i rented was beautiful with typical art work. The facility had onsite massage which was excellent as well. The free breakfast included fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee or tea and fresh bread. My only concern was parking. Very small space next to the property with no clear spaces marked for each car. My car got trapped 2 days making it difficult to exit the parking area without damaging my car. There was no parking assistant onsite.

Beautiful quiet and with a large verdant garden this is an oasis of calm within a easy walk to the town centre, down the most fashionable street in Valladolid. The staff are fantastic. The manager even moved his own car onto the street so we could park out of the rain. We couldnt be more complimentary about this place.

Wonderful spot! Note that you can't check in after 8pm. We booked this last minute (at 9pm) so it was difficult to check in. A guest heard us and opened the door for us. More a failing on Hotels (for letting us book when the front desk was closed) than on the property.

Was forced to evacuate our resort in Cancun due to hurricane Delta. Decided to rent a car and drive inland to Valladolid for safety. Found this gem of a hotel!! We were very concerned as we drove into town if this would be a safe location to stay but the moment we walked though their entrance doors and spoke with the owner as she assured us this was a safe location, our minds were put to ease. This hotel was just as good as our all-inclusive resort in Cancun at 1/10th the price. Stay here if you are in town!

This place is so CUTE! Beautiful garden with pool (which we didn't use but is there). Feels very peaceful quiet and secluded. The room was very big and spacious. The free included breakfast is very good, thee/ coffee and Juice. Freshly cut fruits and yoghurt and granola. Variety of bread rolls nicely warmed up with butter and jam. All served by the lovely ladies in the kitchen. What a deal!

Casa Quetzal was absolutely wonderful. The rooms and interior gardens were lovely. The location by the San Bernardino Convent was a 15 min. walk away from the centro but the walk down the vias de los Frailes is full of shops and nice restaurants. The breakfast is served in the gardens and is great!

We loved the atmosphere of this hotel and the location. It's in a quiet neighborhood (Sisal) next to the former convent. It's easy walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops, many on La Calzada de los Frailes and 10-15 minutes walking to the central plaza. We stayed in the King Design Suite which was filled with colorful weavings, ceramics, and more. It was spacious and comfortable. The pool is cold but refreshing in the lovely garden setting. Breakfast was fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, a basket of bread with margarine and jam, fresh juice and coffee or hot/cold chocolate. The coffee was good but the chocolate was some sort of mix sadly which my child would not even drink. The staff was very helpful with questions about transportation and trips, though they did try to suggest tours which is not our preference when seeing an area. They also arranged taxis when needed since they do not come by the hotel regularly. We'd certainly stay here again.

I loved this quiet place. No wonder it is known for its spa. We didn't use the spa but everything about this hotel made it feel relaxing and special. The small things made it my top choice for Valladolid; the sheets smell pure, natural and clean, I loved their soap (even though I had brought my own). Miirsha, the receptionist, was specially attentive and helped us book tours; she matched our family with the best possible taxi drivers that made our trip an amazing experience.

One of the best hotel stays I have had in the past ~ 100 stays, highly recommended.

I would have liked to know up front what they offer like massage a yoga. Also to get a map would be nice. They did help once we asked and I got a really good map the day we left.itcwasca very pretty and accommodating place. We had a beautiful room. I think they also carried a full menu or at least they could make breakfast. We speak very little Spanish so that is hard. Maybe a paper in English to show things to do. There are 3 particularly outstanding features about this property. First is the lush patio garden - phenomenal. Second, also related to the garden, is that you can sit outside, in the cloister, and enjoy the garden at any time because the hotel has chairs and little sofas placed along it. Third is its location, near the S. Bernard Convent. This is just a tad outside the center of town (utterly walkable), which provides for a lot of peace and quiet otherwise unavailable. If you want the best experience of all, ask for Room 5 (a slight upgrade), and you can have breakfast right outside your room in the morning. We just loved it! Very nice staff. Plenty of good, hot coffee in the morning and a nice continental breakfast with fresh juice and fresh fruit salad.

The room was large and clean. Bathroom, huge. It's a cute place. But a few things made me wonder if I would pick this hotel again. First, I totally understand it was not the hotel's fault but they could not find out reservation and the check-in took way too longer than it should have been. Then, half the time thought the check-in process, the lady at the front desk was on the phone with somebody else. She was the only person there so I am sure she was multitasking and she was very nice and friendly, but it was a bit awkward. And for the shower, we only got luke warm water which was not great. The A/C worked well, but it was loud and we had to turn on/off a few times during the night. While having a compliment breakfast is nice, it was underwhelming. Compared to other reviews, I didn't think the quality of breakfast is not at all great. Overall, it is a good hotel but Valladolid has so many other good options. . . .

Quiet comfort in a perfect location
I stayed only one night. The hotel is clean, bright and comfortable, and ideally located to explore the town centre by foot. The staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a simple continental breakfast before heading off the next morning. There is a slight rustic feel to the place with the occasional rooster crowing and sheep or goats bleating nearby. A little jewel.

The Casa Quetzal is in a great location...200 meters from a couple great, highly rated restaurants, and right across from the 16th Century Convent de San Bernardino. It's also close to the start of the Calle de Los Frailes, which is a beautiful narrow lane that leads in to the Zocalo.

Nice small hotel with limited services. The location is great as it is next to an interesting old monument and only a short walk from the the centre of Valladolid, which is really beautiful and full of interesting shops and great places to eat. It is worth a night or two stopping over here as it is also a good centre to make day trips out from to Mayan ruins and cenotes.

Really lovely Spanish style home, beautifully remodeled into a boutique hotel. Very helpful staff. Good continental breakfast included (extra for full meal). Beautiful garden areas with small swimming pool and artwork around the complex. Great neighborhood around the Convent of San Bernadino of Siena. Two very good restaurants nearby, and a pleasant stroll down the up-and-coming Calle 41A to the main plaza. Check out Tabernacle de Los Frailes and Yerbabuena del Sisal, both excellent with great ambiance.
