There was no air conditioner nor fan. We stayed in May which is way hot. The room was like sauna even during the night when outside was so cool and flesh. My family including 2 kids could not sleep until 4 am because of the heat. We tried to sleep at 8pm!!!! We opened the door completely to get fresh air from outside, but we only got so many mosquitos. It was our first night we could not sleep. Terrible!

They claim dog friendly and than try to charge $500 pesos per night for a documented service dog. No where while booking was this disclosed in their information online. Shameful.

The location of Hotel San Miguel de Allende is excellent at the entrance of the beautiful little town. One can enjoy a 15 walk to the center of the town, or take public transportation and be in the center of everything within a few minutes. The property itself is well kept, but the rooms need updating and there was no AC in the room I stayed in.

The rooms do not have AC or fans. If you open de window anyone can get into your room! There is no privacy if you open a window. The quality of the food and service at the restaurant is extremely bad. It took them 45 minutes to prepare a club sandwich when they had only 5 tables occupied, furthermore the waiter was upset all time, I could not pay with credit card.

We were locked out of the hotel for about 45 minutes Nobody was around to open the door. My husband and I along with other guests were knocking and calling to no avail. Very disappointing!! We also tried the restaurant onsite and the food was very bland and dry!

I have traveled wold work and never had I encountered what this hotel did. I returned about 8:0 p. m. And the entry doors were locked and I banged on he door for about 45 minutes an no answer I am diabetic and needed to use the bathroom three other clients were also waiting and finally they opened the door with the excuse that they had a client disturbing the peace and that the police were coming, all untrue for no police ever came. They only had two employees in service. I would not have paid for the stay but I had already paid through hotels. Com. I was furious and will complain to their company. A most disgraceful treatment plus a lie. A horrible experience for a senior of 83 years

Terrible experience. The hotel is in deplorable conditions and service is terrible. No phones in the rooms, you have to walk to lobby to request anything. The furniture is very old, towels are gray not white, no tissues, no bottled water, no heater or A/C, bedding is old and bed had some bugs because I couldn’t stop itching and scratching after I got under the covers. Took good 5 minutes of wasting a lot of cold water so I could get some hot water. There must be a problem with the boiler. I would not recommend this place at all

The cleaning lady and restaurant staff were wonderful and accommodating. The front desk refused to meet me half way with my spotty Spanish. They gave my local friend a bad number for a taxi we really needed and me the complete wrong directions the very first day there. I didn’t see any other non native people at the hotel over the 4 days I was there and would NOT recommend if you are visiting and need any help. For the reason I have rated this hotel as a bad choice though the room was clean. I also booked a king size bed but was given two doubles...you get the idea.

This is a very old hotel. Rooms are very old. We were staying here just because we had to left another hotel in the middle of the night. In San Miguel de Allende I am pretty sure you can find a better option for the price.

Good hotel outside the city, nice big and heated pool, also well kept gardens, walk to downtown is 25 minutes, unable to find uber, taxi take 10 minutes to arrive, the breakfast buffet is good, the room has no air conditioning nor fan and the room was not dark enough for us. Terrible internet access.

I was in San Miguel de Allende to consider living there when I retire.
The hotel room was spacious, and the grounds well maintained.
The city center is a bit far for a walk and thankfully we had a car. We did not dine in their restaurant.

IT MAY LOOK GOOD IN PICTURES.. BUT IT IS NOT!

I stayed just for one night, the lights didnt work so they sent a maintanance guy.. he fixed it, the pool´s water was cold, the shower´s water was COLD; we reported it but they never fixed it and the internet never worked. we also had breakfast in their restaurant and the menu was really bad.

Really Charming Hotel in a Beautiful City

Very nice hotel, bar, and restaurant near the historic center of San Miguel de Allende. Friendly staff helped make arrangements for our side trips. Note it's on the outskirts of the centro, so taxis are required to get to many areas of interest, unless you're a big hiker.

Loved our stay.

Amazing shopping. Beautiful area. Some problem with lack of hot water in hotel room but they were responsive to correcting the problem. We were there during the colder nights and they do not have central heating but provided us a heater that kept us comfortable.

I love the traditional and local feeling and looks of the place. A little too warm in summer afternoon, but the front desk provided a fan that allowed me to sleep comfortably. All service staff were very helpful. Mini golf and pool available. Everything looked very clean, but I was bothered by a fly during breakfast.

Hotel has extremely friendly staff. The whole hotel is very clean. We saw staff constantly cleaning, trimming, etc., on the grounds. The restaurant has very good food. We ate three meals while we were there and all were excellent. The pool was a very comfortable temperature. Although it is not really heated, it did have warm water coming into the pool. The clean and add chemicals every night. The location is about a 20 minute downhill walk or a ten minute taxi ride to the center of town which costs less than $3.00. The only complaint we had was the bed was too hard. But I would probably go back even with that.

The hotel was just as I remembered it. Having stayed there a few times over the years. The problem came when I booked the room. On the info about the hotel I was pleased to read that they had Sleep Number beds by Comfort Select. I have one in my home since I have major back problems. We got to the hotel and were informed no Comfort Select. I showed the manager the ad in Hotels.com where it said in two places they had Comfort Select. I was told that they never put that in their info since they didn't even know what kind of a mattress that was. The manager was very helpful and put a foam mattress on top of the mattress that was on bed and upgraded us to a suite. They could not have been more helpful. I don't think the mistake was made by the hotel but by Hotels.com. The hotel is lovely and off the \"beaten path\" You are not down in the town of San Miguel De Allende which is very good since the traffic noise is pretty loud. It is about 3 minutes from the center of town. I will definitely stay here again but will bring my 4\" memory foam to put on the bed.

Look for other hotel

This hotel is nice but old, it needs a huge renovation. You can not sleep as you hear everything from the rooms next to you or upstairs. People walking in the hallway, using the stairs, etc... It is not the place for rest.
The service is fair and Internet is really slow during evenings.
I recommend to pay a little more and stay closer to the downtown. Here you need to take a bus for 10 to 15 minutes.

This hotel could be spectacular and provide a great family stay in beautiful San Miguel. Nice gardens and locations; nevertheless, when you get into the rooms, particularly the 500 series, the look old and in poor condition, even if they are spakling clean. I have been to several hotels with this range of price, and in this one you do not get what you are paying for. Again, service is great and employees really try hard, but management seems to be missing around the small details that make the difference. PLEASE DO SOMETHING.

The place was hard to find. When we arrived our room had one bed when we requested 2. I asked to be moved and they accommodated us in a 2 bed room right away. The reservation offered a European plan but it was not included when we asked for it. the room was COLD and we didn't had hot water. it took them a long time to get it working. you have to ask for the remote control and in my case get it myself at the front desk when it was raining. Asked for a taxi and it never got there. we had to get one ourselves. very disappointed for San Miguel.

This hotel has a lovely courtyard, an on-site restaurant and pleasant and helpful employees, with some updated rooms and some \"rustic\" rooms. It also has no heating (central nor room heaters). The overnight temperature got down to 32 degrees F, and we shivered in our beds all night. One might think that at 6100 feet, they might have prepared for this contingency, but no. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone during any season in which the temperature may drop below 50 degrees F.

Very nice hotel, and good for the price. Nothing super fancy but everything was clean. The only bad part was that they don't leave the remote control for the TV in the room and we had to wait over an hour to get one. The hotel is well located close to downtown. But probably you need a cab to go to downtown, specially going back since it is up a loooong hill.

\"A nice hotel in the middle of nowhere\"

We had a lovely and spacious room and all the amenities were provided. The only problem that we encountered was that the high noise level made by the people next door. They insisted on louinging around and talking loud on the outside walkway and allowing their young kids to noisily run around at large. They quietened down after after I informed them that it was after 10 PM and we were trying to get to sleep. This shouldn't have happened! Other than that, everything was fine and the staff was very helpful.

The hotel though appears to be in the middle of nowhere. There are no restaurants nearby and none at the hotel either. We also had to taek a local bus to go the historical district.

Upon arrival, the staff had no record of our reservation. They gave us a room without asking us what type of room we had actually tried to reserve.
This room did not meet the descriptions listed on the website: there was no air conditioning and no iron in the room. Also, there was a considerable leak in our bathroom and outside the entrance to the room. We had to be very careful so as to not slip and get hurt. (The front desk staff did not seem at all concerned and they did nothing to help correct the matter.) They also did not seem at all concerned about finding us a remote control for the tv. This is one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.

O quarto está velho , não têm calefação nos quartos, um absurdo numa cidade com madrugadas geladas. Os trincos das janelas faltam de manutenção.
Noite gelada não dispõem nem de aquecedor. O café da manhã com frutas congeladas, horrível. Sem qualidade alguma.
Tristeza ter feito reserva neste hotel.

La habitación estaba regular, el restaurante también pero la atención es pésima!! Nos atendieron muy mal, nos dijeron que por contratarlo en expedía no era la misma atención que contratando directamente con ellos, pero su página web es pésima y la atención por teléfono igual, no había nadie que nos ayudara con las maletas, la atención en recepción es muy mala y si quieres reservar en alguna de sus actividades te hacen caras. No vayan, hay más opciones a mejor precio en la plataforma.

El hotel es muy lindo y las habitación son limpias, creo a las habitaciones les hace falta un tipo de actualización incluyendo sus cortinas para que sean totalmente black out remodelación o algo que lo haga ver más actualizado y las cortinas poder ser blackout.
