The hotel is nicely done, staff are great, and it’s in a very convenient location with the beach and town both very short walks. One issue though is the parking situation; they have a very small lot for guests and once that’s full you have to try to find street parking on the side of the hotel, which can be very tough. I don’t understand why the spaces directly adjacent to the hotel are not reserved for hotel guests, it would seem like it’s part of their property or if it’s the town’s property then they should come to an arrangement with them to make it reserved for the hotel. For this kind of money you shouldn’t have to worry about taking your car somewhere and not having a place to park when you get back.

Very short walking distance to the beach, loved the bean bag chairs and umbrellas to use at the beach.
The entire place was very clean. Bartenders were very nice and passionate about making fun drinks.
Overall a very nice place to stay, I would definitely recommend it!

Wonderful!

First appearance,we were underwhelmed, it looked aged. The Hotel and office l lacked signage. Once there we couldn't have been happier. The room was Lovely, with a modern updated theme and restoration. The back courtyard offered comfort lounging, an airstream boutique, a few events, piped in music, fire pits, corn hole set, fun play chairs for kids and adults, shaded picnic tables and a gate to the beach road. The potted plants left nothing to desire, just beautiful. The staff was Very Friendly and accommodating. 5 star except curb impression and signage. I saw some pool side food/drink service, but didn't request that or room service ourselves. Not sure if it was a special request or regularly available. 🤗🌹

The location is great its right on the beach and walking distance to stores and restaurants. The property is well maintained and the staff was very friendly. Only issue was they had told us the fire pits would be working nightly and they only turn on for the weekends. We would have also enjoyed more activities throughout the week. They also memtioned a complimentary drink but we never reveived one.

Cons: This motel is located on the side of a secondary highway through Montauk so it can be noisy. We stayed in a main floor unit and could also hear the room above us. The bathroom setup is weird, the toilet is separate. The shower is open to the room and so is the sink. There’s a small fridge but no coffee or microwave. The room had particles on the floors and surfaces so it was not spectacularly clean.

Pros: STEPS to the massive and beautiful public beach!!! The room has a massive patio door and some seating. All rooms are overlooking the courtyard. You can’t see the ocean from the main floor, but it’s steps away!
The courtyard has plenty of lounge furniture with a BBQ, fire pit and games to just chill at night with the stars and the ocean. Decent pool area and sauna/showers in the basement with included yoga and massage treatments available on site. You also have access to equipment like bicycles to get around!! Lobby has free coffee and a few free snacks in the morning. The staff were all super friendly and nice.

Location: I would recommend this place if you’re on a budget and want to be on the beach. It is a great location for little shops and restaurants within walking distance. Everything seemed to close early, though. There’s a 7/11 and an IGA close by. Lots of boat tours and whale watching companies not far away! Lots of national parks, lighthouses to explore, as well.

We like Hero so much we went twice in one summer. It's clean, the staff is super friendly, and it's right across a quiet street from the beach, where they have umbrellas and lounge chairs that someone will set up for you. It's a great spot and we will certainly be back.

it was a clean resort.
The parking is terrible . They had an event and allowed the people at the event to take all the parking spots . Guest had to park a half mile away . Also the room was very small , very overpriced.

Overpriced - looks like a roadside motel that I upgraded with close access to a public beach. Poor communication and service by staff for the price range. They have limited parking for guests, part of the parking that looks like private hotel parking is apparently public parking. And the police gives out significant fines for parking in front of the hotel. We got a fine for parking across the hotel at night and was given zero heads up by the staff even though it seems quite necessary. Bad experience, I don’t recommend.

Lovely service and rooms- the bathroom is open -only separated by a curtain (the toilet has separate door) so not much privacy for showers... the sink is in the common area- also the internet was open (unsecured) and did not work without agreeing to sign up for promotions

The location was good, the facility was nicely groomed and in nice condition. It was very clean too. However, it was super modern, tech this and tech that. We couldn’t figure out how to get the air on and the heat off. I don’t think the heat was on… but it was always warm in the unit. In addition, we couldn’t figure out how to turn on the tv… and the unit had no shelf or counter space at all. My wife kept saying it was minimalist… which I guess was true. Next time, I would try some place else.

Property was nice - we stayed mid August so it was a little worn. I’d be careful when booking RE view - the picture of the double Oceanside on Expedia had an unobstructed view while ours #26 looked directly in to the other building. To be fair there were oblique views to the ocean but when in the room you are confronted with the adjacent building. We were only staying 2 nights so didnt make a big deal of it. Otherwise everything was pretty enjoyable.

The employees were very nice and accommodating. For a small beach motel, it was cozy and clean, beautifully decorated. You have to cross a street to get to the public beach, but it’s close. The pool is clean and east to access. The lawn area is really nice with the fire pits, and if you like smores, this is the place for you.

This hotel has a fabulous upscale bohemian vibe. The decor is wonderful, boutique style, and very serene.
There is a terrific pool and perfect beach front with onsite chair, umbrella ,and towel service, as well as food and drinks.
The rooms are done very well and have everything you need.

A number of issues for a 1300/night stay. Way overpriced for what you get. No cleaning service for 4 nights / 5 days. There was no heating in the hotel (not sure if that's legal), but they did provide a space heater. The bar / cafe did not have any food, breakfast ran out of coffee, and the drinks were well tiny plastic cups. Not much seating on the beach - towels not readily available. A bit rude at check-in, as if we're an inconvenience trying to check into an exorbitantly expensive stay. Not a 4-5 star experience by a long shot.

Definitely a motel trying to create a trendy, hipster vibe. The location to town is excellent and the access to the beach is amazing. I have stayed in many places in Montauk and have paid similar prices. For what you actually get from this hotel, it is very overpriced. It seems as though they did a quick remodel of a very old property. The AC was not working properly when we arrived, and the staff was aware that several rooms had problems with the HVAC units. You cannot charge these prices for rooms with insufficient HVAC. They even provide portable heaters in a basket in the rooms, obviously problems with the heat too. Tiles in the bathrooms were loose and starting to lift up. This was just not the quality I was expecting for such an expensive motel.

Bartender, maintenance gentleman and cleaning staff were excellent, as friendly as can be. However, the gentleman at the desk, upon our arrival, barely took notice of us and was not very friendly. It pains me to see these places that lack simple basics on running a business-treat your customers well! Remember that every customer has a choice and they chose your establishment. Never lose sight of that...because, people may come once, but they won't come back.

We loved Hero Beach Club! Quiet and relaxing, perfect location— close to beach and nearby shops/ restaurants! Staff was pleasant. Due to COVID19, they are unable to service the rooms daily but an appropriate precaution to protect staff and guests! Will return! Keep in mind there is no on-site food, staff only avail 7am-11pm. However, no issues.

The room was amazing, very clean and decor was absolutely perfect. I loved the sitting area with lounge chairs outside the main door to the room and there was even a back entrance to the room from the backyard with our own little privacy area with lounge chairs as well. Pool area was very clean and well stocked with pool towels and plenty of tables and lounge chairs to sit at. The iced water provided at the pool was a nice touch.

The grounds and the hotel rooms are immaculate, not a dried leaf or a piece of paper could be found. The rooms smelled clean and also immaculate. The staff from top to bottom are very very pleasant and accommodating and actually seemed happy that we chose to stay with them.

We enjoyed our stay at Hero Beach! The conditions of the pool lounge chairs need to be cleaned. I understand that it’s hard to keep everything nice, but I had to go get my towel to lay on the lounge chair. Also a little disappointed that our room wasn’t cleaned until 4 pm. We had come back looking to take a nap only our room wasn’t cleaned and we had to leave when they did
