BEWARE I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel and feel compelled to warn future guests.
During our stay, money went missing from the safe in my room, as well as from the safe in my friend’s room. At first, I honestly found it hard to believe — after all, how can money go missing from a locked safe? I assumed there must be some mistake.
However, after becoming suspicious, I deliberately arranged the notes in a specific position before leaving the room. When I returned, some of the money was gone and the remaining notes had clearly been moved. At that point, it was undeniable that something was wrong.
We immediately raised this with hotel staff, expecting it to be taken seriously. Instead, our concerns were brushed off with no proper investigation, no accountability, and no real effort to resolve the situation. The lack of concern and professionalism was just as troubling as the missing money itself.
A hotel safe is supposed to provide peace of mind. Sadly, that was not our experience. I would strongly advise other guests to be extremely cautious with their valuables if choosing to stay here.

A monstrously decadent grand building full of Africa princes and wedding guests. Wonderful reception areas very grand. The rooms are functional and more corporate but lacking a desk to work at - chair/desk at wrong height and clustered with coffee making facilities. Bathroom was great, but a little tired and the shower wasn’t wide enough, even for a skinny lad. Nice balcony and lovely grounds in gated compound. Didn’t seem to be near anything interesting.

The breakfast at Al Masa Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked into the dining area, I was impressed by the warm atmosphere and the beautifully arranged buffet. The variety of dishes was outstanding—everything from fresh pastries and fruits to flavorful traditional options and perfectly prepared hot dishes.

The quality of the food truly stood out. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the presentation made it even more enjoyable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to assist, adding to the overall pleasant experience.

This hotel has two buildings. The first has rooms in need of updating, with dated carpeting and balconies without screens that don't even open into the hallways. The second has more modern rooms with screens and home automation. I stayed in the first, and the room was very dated, nice, but not the cleanest. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast was very good and plentiful. The air conditioning can be turned off or adjusted. It's great to have amenities right in the hotel, such as a bank, bar, and a small supermarket. The staff is friendly.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and the property is very well maintained. The room was comfortable and very clean. There was a lot of variety for breakfast with some changes each day, which is nice. There are also at least 5 different restaurants/cafes which for us was convenient. The staff were very responsive whenever we needed anything. We would stay at Al Masa again.

Horrible!!! Stayed during the last few days of Ramadan, there were parties every single night till 3-4AM, rooms aren’t sound proof.
There’s no constant stream of hot water, took at least 10-15 min each time for hot water to start trickling, there’s even a time where we didn’t have any water at all!
The wall on top of the bed was padded and the pads fell on us while sleeping!!!
Rooms aren’t well kept at all and needs massive maintenance, the only thing they took care of is the exterior.
After ramadan finished, weddings started and again full blown noise till 1AM each night!
Horrible experience, would never book there again.

The bathroom was filthy. The hotel is not suited to non Muslims, I felt uncomfortable. Men and women can not use the spa facilities together. There are a lack of signs so you cant dind anything- we never found out where breakfast was. My 12 year old son wanted a sauna and he had to wear all his clothes in it which is not safe or enjoyable, it also melted his t-shirt. The childrens play area by the Eqyptian resturant is not safe, the plastic has got brittle in the sun and my 5 year was playing on it and a section broke which meant he fell. He was complaining of a sore arm amd once back in the UK I took him to the hospital and its broken.

The Hotel is not suitable for Wheelchair bound people at all, they should think about this, we were given a room in a different building from the reception and restaurant, it was a mission each time we wanted to go to the restaurant or reception to board a Taxi, there were raised door entries and steps everywhere no slopes or Wheelchair ramps.

Most of the staff were very pleasant especially Muhammad Salah in the restaurant.

Would stay again, but would not recommend to a Wheelchair user.

They canceled my booking, found it but gave me another room. Shower was not working so they had to change the room again! All services are bad, breakfast buffet is so poor (food is dry), the room iron ruined my shirt! Not worth any cent paid there!

The property was beautiful and well manicured. It was so much to do and see on the property you really don't need to go out unless you're going on a tour. I stayed for 6 days and didn't explore the entire property. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. There's a bowling alley, several restaurant options, lounges, hookahs, movie theater, bank, swimming pools, etc. Definitely worth booking and enjoying. The only negative is they could get rid of the carpet in the rooms but it's not a deal breaker.

Amazing stay! The staff is so friendly here both to locals and to foreigners. To me it seems that they feel they are doing a service to their country by working in the hotel and take the job seriously. There are so many activities to do in just the hotel alone and the views are stunning. I really did not want to leave. The rooms however could be a little better. They are clean and comfortable they just don't seem nearly as well maintained as the rest of the hotel.

For families with young children, the hotel facility versus what you might book on expedia/booking doesn't match up. It is ok for twin/king rooms. Staff were ok but can be quite abrupt sometimes. Make sure you check if you have paid before checking out if booked with booking/expedia. Was staying with friends for a wedding and there was some confusion about payments with a friend where they hadn't paid but hotel staff only realised this after checked-out and were being hassled by hotel staff, leading to someone coming out at 1am to settle the bill.

Staff asked us to pay more for a room upgrade at check-in by threatening us that we would be given a small room with no window in an older building otherwise. This should not have been the case as we had chosen a room with balcony/patio with resort views. At check-out, we stored our luggage with them and staff just bluntly claimed they did not have it when we returned to collect it in the afternoon. After asking them to check (3 times at least), they finally agreed to look in the storage and found our luggage. Very poorly organised and staff were not helpful at all. I would definitely not return because of the service.

I like the security, food and the team but I didn’t like the front disk team, they gave me the invoice when I checked in in my first day and I paid the full stay based on they invoice, after three days they come back to me and said that they need more money because they did a mistake when they issued the invoice and I have to pay another amount .

One week at massah

Hotel is nice and clean, I stayed in a deluxe room that was newly renovated. However, my uncle came to stay with me and they wanted to charge us double for the same room even after I checked with them. Also they don’t allow non related couples so they asked for proof that he was my uncle and every time he came back to the room they harassed him about proof, that’s why I won’t give a good review.

I stayed twice at this beautiful hotel. The first time I splurged and upgraded to the Al Masa 2 room. the second time, I stayed at the Masa 1 which was almost the same in size, but without the view and some extra amenities. both room were clean, updated and the view was absolutely beautiful in the Masa 2 building. The check-in process and the front office staff was friendly, professional and knew what they were doing. The landscaping that surround both hotels are outstanding and very well kept. There was a surprise in every corner. Great Place to stay and worth the money that you would pay ($70-$80 per night with breakfast).

On the food & Beverage side, I visited the hookah place few times. Service was spotty and inconsistent. More than once, I had to get up and ask for service. Ramadan, the hookah guy is the only one worth mentioning. He was alert and focused and extremely friendly.

One comment I have to make is about cell phone use. I observed many employees using their cell phones in gust view having private conversations with the uniform on with a name tag. I suggest employees remove name tags when they are off work or on break when they are in gust view.

the breakfast buffet was just OK. I suggest bigger coffee cups. Service was outstanding after I complained the first day.

One last comment: If I walk by and employee, It would great if I get greater and acknowledged. It a sign of friendly service.

Very kind staff and very helpful from someone who does not speak the local language. They know their english. Receptionist was able to accomodate a reliable taxi and made sure I got to my destination okay. I was a solo traveler for half of this trip. Very high security.
