Horrible hotel, should not be advertised on Orbitz

I usually make reservations for hotels on Orbitz, and I've been doing that for about 15 years now. I've stayed at a bad hotel in New York City and in Toronto, but this is worst than ever. When you arrive, you will see a huge number of people staring you down and offering their rooms or services. Once you take the elevator, which is really small, you will get to your hotel, which should not be called a hotel, and it should not be advertised on Orbitz, for the sake of their business, as I now question whether I could trust it anymore. Anyway, the lady who checked us in was very nice, as she noticed our immediate disappointment, and she said she will cancel it for us and give us our money back for all three nights, which I already paid for through Orbitz. Even though Orbitz says they will not issue a refund for the first night, she said she will do it for us. However, my husband was exhausted, and he said we would stay there. I could not possibly carry 3 bags and leave, so I stayed the first night as well. The door didn't feel safe, and the noise in the hallway was very disturbing because it started at 11 P.M., and it lasted until midnight. Then it started again in the middle of the night, and again around 5 A.M. There were roaches all over the room. I killed 5 of them. At noon, when there was no noise in front of our room, we finally walked out, asked for the cancellation of the next two nights, and left. The lady ensured us that she will give us the refund, and she did.

Hi , I was given 1 hotel, but i guess that was overbooked.
later i was given accomadation in another hotel. There the bathroom was really tiny. I have been to many hotels in HK at this budget , but not as tiny room as this. Finally I was given 1 more hotel after couple of days, while the room was a little better, but there wasnt cleaning in the next 3 days i was there.
Defnitely my worst HK stay at this budget. There are better rooms, service in this price.

In hotel it is very nice experience. But hotel.com is very worst they said they give extra one day after booking for 10 days. But they lie me. Again don't book for long time period. Because you can got attractive price here after coming to Hong Kong.

Might switch hotels on you

Of course, as is common when you book at Chungking Mansions, they'll put you in a different guest house. I booked Beverley Guest House, I stayed in FIRST GUEST HOUSE. Make sure you have a PAPER copy of all the amenities/features that you booked so that you GET all those amenities in whatever place they try to put you in. The room was adequate though only 6 feet wide. It had a window. There was one cockroach in the ~6 days I was there; but, that was sort of my fault because I didn't put the garbage out to be changed for 3 days and there was food waste residue in the garbage for 3 days. Changed the garbage more frequently, no more roaches in room. Good exchange rates for CAD and USD on first floor of Chungking Mansions if you look around--there are several changers. The exchanges closest to the main door are expensive.

Inexpensive and you get what you paid for.

room is tiny, the bed is less than a full size and there is just room to squeeze your feet between the bed and the wall. The price is pretty good, but you get what you pay for. The wait for the elevator can be extremely long (often over 10-15 minutes)

Unlucky experience at Guest house

We have reached the guest house on 23/5/15 morning, but there was hacking work near the staircase till 5.00p.m. It was very noisy and dusty and according to them this will continues for a few days. No doubt we have book two rooms and supposed to checked in at 2.00p.m. but only one room was ready. we will tired, thirsty, cold and it was rainy heavily outside but we cannot rest in the room due to the noise. In fact, we have book double bed for two person but they give us a smaller bed for two person and request us to top up extra for bigger bed. I do not agrees and argued with her. Finally when we came back than she agrees to gives us a bigger room because the tenant had check out. The TV antenna was bad cannot watch due to the hacking work. There is no phone in the room and when the main door was close, we cannot contact each other from the other room. I appeal for compensate for the above inconvenience.

I booked my 2 nieces in this hotel based on the review of fellow travelers. The hotel did not disappoint my expectation. They are very accommodating and they gave my nieces a much bigger room for the same price, thank you! Also they helped my nieces how to get around the area and where to eat. I also want to thank the money changer in the building that helped them with tickets and discounts and of course a very good exchange rate!

When booking cheap accommodation ,remember not to expect more than you pay for.The room was 15cm wider than the bed and you had to sit on the toilet to shower.No wardrobe .It was clean and the manager was helpfull.

Good for the money

Very good for the price, $31 USD/night. You get what you pay for. Chungking Mansions is centrally located in Kowloon,has a huge variety of restaurants/delis and shops. The lift (elevator) only holds 525 kg, so at rush hour, you may get the third lift up. Bed mattress is rubber and too firm.

four days we stayed at the guest room was a nightmare for me and my wife. Mattress was super single size for two of us; toilet bad smell as well as the external toilet window dirty; fan made noise when turn to high speed; air-con malfunction on first day. However, the business owner engaged a technician to repair the air-con on second day.

Incredibly accommodating hostel in great local

From the moment we arrived at Beverly Guest House, we knew that we would have a great experience. The hotel manager greeted us and offered to check us in early and allowed us to upgrade our room size for an extra USD $3 per night. She checked in on us every morning to see if we needed anything, and gave us recommendations on public transit to get to the places we wanted to go. Her english was pretty good and on the last day, she even stored our luggage at no cost since we checked out early Thursday morning and our flight wasn't until 00:50 on Friday morning. Overall we were satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the experience surpassed our expectations. Thank you Beverly Guest House for further making our Father-Son spring break trip such a memorable and positive one!

The staff were helpful when I made requests. The room wasn't big enough to open my suitcase in without lifting it onto the bed and there was a bad smell in the bathroom. The room had a pointless window with a view of an unpleasant-looking indoor area. I was disappointed that the wi-fi didn't work for one night of my stay as internet access is a major deciding factor for me when I choose a place to stay. The room was clean enough. The wait for the elevator in the building in general is ridiculous. (With 17 floors of mostly guesthouses you'd think it would be reasonable to have more than two elevators that hold a maximum of 7 people. Usually by the time the elevator going down reached floor 8 it's full already.) I found Chungking mansions and the area directly outside unpleasant and unnerving, as a solo traveller visiting Hong Kong for the first time, as there are constantly people yelling things at you as you enter/leave the building. The building is within short walking distance of several tourist attractions and has good public transport access though.

Moved to three different rooms over two weeks. Second room stunk of cigarettes and sewerage with toilet water leaking on the bathroom floor. This prompted the final move after three days of stink.

Bait and switch!

When I checked in, I was moved--without explanation until I asked about it-- to another guesthouse on a different floor but it was full. So she took me to a third guesthouse on a different floor. The room offered did not have a TV and was smaller than expected. The worst part was the awful smell of the toilet, which woke me a few times during the night. I have stayed quite a few guesthouses in the Chungking Mansion but Beverly Guest House is the worst by far. It should be used only as a last resort.

We stayed in family room it was good.the lady Owner very courteous and good . She told us the correct details to reach impt location.

Lots on Indian joints for eating more problem and good value for money.

Other then the crowed entrance to get into the lift.where so many people waiting to sale their hotel or food.rest the stay was enjoyable.

very good location, MTR station tsim sha tsui in front of the building. Ferry pier to HNK Island 10 min walk. friendly staff, room service every day, hair dryer and drinking water for free is aviable.
difficult to find, just ask for the chunking Manson and find there block B to get up to floor 13 with the lift. small rooms but this is normal for this price in hongkong.

Expidia should random check,then sale their room

2 room I saw,size of the room was the same size of the bed, you can go to the bed from the bottom side NO access from the side, in those two room the were no spaces/enough landing to open your suite case/luggage , you have to put them on the bed to open them, single cell jail spaces is more the these 2 room.
traffic for the elevator is another story queue time to access the elevators some times is more than 35 minutes normal is about 15minute, aircondition was not good at all, in my room staff work hard to get it partial work after 3 hours, it was very bad experiences, really Expidia should random to check these kind hotel, then sale their room.
to your customer, expidia has good on line name do not let down your customer, I booked since 14 to 28 Sept
Dubai, HKG, Shenzhen and Guangzhou with Expidia , all are fine and good rate but Beverly type is not your cup of tea.

Don't ever try to reserve this place

As the arrival time to HK airport was after check-in time, we tried to contact the hotel and let them know we're coming late. But hotel didn't answer any of our call. When we arrived at the hotel at around 7am, we met a reception staff. But she said we're not in the reservation list and didn't even make any effort to identify our names. We were then kicked out of the place and remained helpless in such sketchy area. Although we somehow found another hotel in HongKong Island, we cannot forget such an awful moment there. It was the worst place ever. EVEN the hotel denied to refund any of our 4 nights stay (according to their cancellation rule), and It was also helpless and disappointing that Hotels.com couldn't help any of our trouble. Please, don't ever think of booking this place

交通方便

本来订的是在重庆大厦住的，这样离维多利亚港会比较近，结果老板娘请另外一个朋友把我们带到另一条街的一个大厦去住了。旅馆房间比较小，也比较简陋，清洁度也一般，我们将就了一晚。不过后面带我们来的那个大姐人还不错，这是这次入住唯一欣慰的一点。

저렴한 가격 대비 만족입니다.
내부 청소 매일 깨끗하게 해주고 수건도 줍니다.
침대보도 매일 바꿔주고 와이파이도 됩니다.
숙소의 위치도 중심가에 있어서 좋습니다.
단점은 좁은 욕실과 침대 정도 인 것 같습니다.

よくわからないゲストハウス

エクスペディアにて、3日間ビバリーゲストハウスを予約したが、1日目はLe cheng guesthouse 2、3日目はニューヨークゲストハウスと、一度もビバリーゲストハウスには泊まらなかった。宿帳のメモで私の名前はあったが、オーバーブッキングしていたみたいで、他の重慶大厦のゲストハウスに連れていかれた。なので、中がわからなかってので評価は普通にしておきました。
もし、他も泊まれなかったらと思うと心配なので、ちゃんとひとのプログラムでなにはしんぱいり

簡單乾淨的休息地方

房間的情況跟照片差不多，只是房間與衛浴設備稍微小一點，對於想找個能夠洗澡睡覺與簡單乾淨的休息地方，這裡很適合。老闆娘很親切，服務很好，有問題跟她反應，很快幫忙處理，而且每天會整理房間。

賓館位於重慶大樓B座，從彌敦道進入重慶大樓，第一組電梯為A座，繼續往裡走才是B座的電梯，A座與B座是沒有連通，電梯比較小又比較慢，人多的時候需要排隊等電梯，管理員會在電梯旁維持順序。

いい経験！

噂のチョンキンマンションに泊まれたのでいい経験になりましたが、やはり覚悟は要ります。思っていたより綺麗でしたがゴキブリが2匹。ベッドのマットがかなり硬い。シャワーはお湯がちゃんとでたし、スタッフが親切だったのとWi-Fiがかなり早くて良かったです。慣れてるバックパッカーくらいでないと許容できないかもしれません。

Clean, good price, near to MTR

We arrived very late at the hotel, but the staff was waiting for us. Very kind.
The room is very small (Hong kong standards), but clean.
The hotel is very close to the Tsim tsa sui mtr station, inside the chunking mansion. lot of indian people behind the entrance, but don't pay attention. the elevator is alway full of people, so you have to wait your turn.
We recommand this place.

畢竟是位在出入複雜的重慶大廈裡面,比較建議一個人的旅遊不住這裡會比較安全。賓館的老闆娘人很好,房間和衛浴雖小但都可以接受。大廈的電梯有時候會等比較久稍微有點不便,但出來之後就是尖沙咀鬧區哦!

シンプルな部屋

有名なチョンキンマンションに泊まりたくて、こちらを選びました。部屋が狭いことや、バスタオル以外のアメニティがないことや、案内された部屋は別の階の違う名前のホテルということなど事前に調査済でしたので、特に問題になることはありませんでした。
テレビもWIFIもクーラーもハンガーもあるし、清潔だし、寝に帰るには充分です。窓付きの部屋だったのでラッキーでした。
当方のチェックインがずいぶん遅くなってしまったのですが、案内してくれた受付の女性は親切にきちんと案内してくれました。
シャワーは使う10分前にスイッチを入れて、給湯がOKになったら使えますが、シャワーのお湯が出る時間はほぼ5分くらいです。
また、洗面部分は水だけで、お湯は出ません。
シャワーの後は床などびしょ濡れになりますが、水はけがいいのか、数時間後には乾いていました。
私には充分な部屋でしたが、更に快適さを求めるならもう少し高いお金を払って、良いホテルに泊まることをお勧めします。

Väldigt små rum och då menar jag väldigt små. Ligger över en stor marknad med ett väldigt liv (hörs dock inte upp). Man får köa till hissen då det ligger massa andra guesthouse i byggnaden. Läget är bra om man ska bortse från den hemska upplevelsen att ta sig upp på rummet. Överlag var det helt ok för att sova. Nästa gång hade jag personligen dock valt ett annat ställe.

整體來講都很棒，裡面的員工人都很好，唯一缺點是在重慶大廈比較危險的地方，每天經過大門總是會遇到一群印度人纏著你推銷他們家的東西。

Muito bom, para um \"hotel\" em Chungking Mansions

Para a proposta dos hotéis situados no prédio Chungking Mansions, superou minhas expectativas. Quarto limpo, com wi-fi, atendente simpática, check-in e check-ou prático e rápido. Dispõe de secador de cabelo e ferro de passar, mediante solicitação. Também conseguimos usar microondas, quando não, tínhamos acesso a água quente que dava para fazer macarrão instantâneo. O quarto que fiquei possuia janela.

Se comparado com outros quartos dos quais vi imagens e vídeos, o que fiquei neste hotel foi bem melhor. Fomos muito bem atendidos, funcionária que nos atendeu foi muito simpática e prestativa, nos auxiliando com tudo que precisamos. O processo de check-in foi fácil e rápido.

シャワーのお湯が出ない

宿泊した2日間、シャワーのお湯がでず、参りました。スタッフの方に伝えても改善せず…。
短期の滞在なので仕方ないと割り切りましたが、支払った値段相応のサービスかと言われると、微妙かなというのが正直な感想です。
