Sengene trænger til at blive skiftet ud. Det er OK man ikke skifter håndklæder hver dag, men man kan i det mindste checke værelset om der er skraldespande der skal tømmes. Det virker mere som en sparerunde en hensyn til miljøet.
Hotellet ligger perfekt til byen dog er der meget trafikstøj og larm fra mennesker der går på gaden.

Overall a good experience. However it is clear the time post corona is hard: Not enough personnel and some of the ecofriendly initiatives seem to ba a cover-up for saving money (which is understood).

An idea: Why not hire a Danish intern during the summer time to assist in the reception/bar area? There seem to be lots of Danes and the idea is that they will be welcomed by a Danish speeking person to tell them about the hotel's facilities (e.g how to book massage etc. in the clinic attached to the hotel) and maybe assist in the bar so opening hours doesn't clash with the dinner servings to the group travellers.

We saw how the personnel fought to give us a good experience, so full credit to them.

It is disappointing that the Hotel did not guide os regarfing parking. As we should leave we needed change to pay for parking. And we almost paid 15€ too much for the parking. Luckily we returned to the reception for help to change chash. Only at this time we found out that it was cheaper and we could pay for parking at the hotel. Unnecessarily problems - and we had told that we came by own car when we arrived 😥

Wenns nicht anders geht!

Man merkt es handelt sich um ein älteres Gebäude, welche renoviert wurde. Das Zimmer inkl. Badezimmer war eiskalt und hat sich auch nicht richtig erwärmt.
Preis/Leistungsverhältnis war in meinen Augen nicht gegeben.

After 950 km. drive. we arrived a little before 9pm and checked in with a very kind and helpful receptionist. Had seen on the homepage that the restaurent should be open to 10pm. We went to the restaurent at 9pm - at the same time when two meals were carried from the kitchen in to some guests. But: We were rejected a table (even there were many empty tables) by a quite negative and unfriendly waiter, because we had not made a reservation. If we had not made a reservation, we were told, we could not expect that the kitchen had procured enough raw materials for feeding us. Even we asked for what disches they had materials to cook - and offered to just order that, we were still refused.
We ended up walking through the city to maybe 5 restaurents with \"closed klitchen\" before we found one who served some very good ribs, at a small place called \"Rib Publik\", Shilderstrasse 57. But, this is simply not good enough at a relatively expensive hotel like Hotel Der Achtermann.

After a long and boring « paperless check in- we got finally our room. None of our requirements in terms of bed and vieuw were matched. Room was noisy, in front of hotel a railway track noisy people crying and made any kind of noise toll 2:00 am. No airco, room was hot as hell. old fashioned jnterior in poor condition, no cocfe machine, empty mini bar and awfull bedding. Scratched furniture,dirty carpets and ridiculius small bathroom. shouwer was not drainig off, with jus a CURTAIN….! No idea at all why this hotel has 4 stars! Totally overprized, on top, the charged us 18,-€ more than an anounced on the website.
N EVER EVER AGAIN!!!

Breakfast will never satisfy everyone. I want crispy breakfast bread. it wasn't there.
The coffee was super duper. No open restaurant for lunch. Dinner only.
The staff is really top notch.
Only 4 stars because the hotel charger for my Nissan Ariya didn't work. But all in all, definitely worthy of a recommendation.

Die Ausstattung der Zimmer war enttäuschend. Keine Flasche Wasser auf dem Zimmer, keine Pflegeprodukte im Bad, defekter Fernseher. Das Hotel ist insgesamt auch renovierungsbedürftig. Für einen längere Aufenthalt oder für besondere private Anlässe, ist ein Aufendhalt eher nicht zu empfehlen.

Centralt beliggende.....midt i Goslar bykerne.
Godt værelse, men en del lange gange og trapper.
Morgenbuffet var ok ...men løbende opfyldning kunne være bedre og man fornemmede en stressende stemning blandt serveringspersonale, som også afsmittede på os gæster. Der var ikke tid til overblik, imødekommenhed og smil !
Derfor overvejes om et andet hotel en anden gang.

The bathroom was uncomfortably small. There were no basic amenities in the bathroom, like a small bottle of shampoo or lotion or a bottle of water in room. The pillows were in name only and were so worn out that they served no purpose. The bed was uncomfortable. Most importantly they did not clean our room. The check out time is 10 am and the fee for being an hour late for check out is $100. I don't recommend staying here. The Romantic Hotel is a better option and very centrally located.

I was disappointed there was no parking for my motorcycle when I arrived, which was the reason I booked this hotel. It worked out but it was stressful at first.
The single room was very hot because the window was small and didn’t offer much ventilation, and the bed was uncomfortable. I’ve stayed in the double room here before though and there the bed was comfortable and window much larger.
The service at breakfast was super, and in general the staff is very very nice. The location is great, and so is the pool/sauna area.

Convenient location. Historic building.

The Achterman is located very close to the rail station, so you don’t have to worry about finding a taxi or hauling your luggage through the old town. Goslar is very walkable so it’s convenient also to the “Altstadt.” Amenities are great (indoor pool & spa). Oddly, my room lacked a chair when I checked in at night. In the morning, I notified staff, and one was promptly delivered, indicating attentive service. Part of the building consists of the old town gate, which makes the building interesting historically. The room was a tad small, but large enough. Overall, a great hotel.

Fabulous hotel in Top location

Lovely hotel within a few minutes of the railway station. Perfect position for exploring the old town. We stayed both in older room and brand new room - both lovely but space better in old room. Only bad thing is shower over bath in old room and a bit of cracking in basin and around bath - however the space is good! Beds comfy, everything clean with plenty of power points. Newer room smaller and no door or curtain on walk in shower so water can go everywhere if not careful. Also only mirror is in bathroom. Good heating no cooling apart from windows open. Breakfast wonderful with hot and cold food. Breakfast setting elegant. Service excellent in breakfast area. There is a lift so you dont have to navigate stairs outside the building when you arrive with cases or are disabled. You have to press a button at the bottom of the stairs and reception will open restaurant door to the right of stairs. There are lifts to all floors. A hassle having to hand your key in when you leave the building so try to avoid check in and out times or you have to line up every time! Would highly recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling by train or bus. There are two near by supermarkets as well as lovely shops to browse if you can tear your eyes away from the beautiful buildings.

A very nice hotel in great location.
Has a fantastic pool and hot tub area - badly let down by the air, pool and hot tub temperatures being below comfortable.
So disappointing I've only braved it twice in eight days of staying at the hotel.
Improve this and i'd recommend it as a near perfect hotel.

We loved this hotel, completely modernised but in a mediaeval setting. Very close to the station but an easy walk into the extraordinary town centre - streets lined with 16th/17th century buildings in beautiful condition - like being on a film set. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast, unfortunately we had no time to enjoy the spa and sauna facilities.

I have always loved this hotel but..... The room I checked in to had an overpowering smell of of disinfectant so I was given another room but the bathroom light in there didn't even work!I rang reception and asked for it to be fixed the next day(which it was). BUT every night my hands and arms were bitten v badly. Given that it was winter there certainly were no mosquitos around! I showed the reception staff my bites but nothing happened. Unbelievable given that this is one of the best hotels in the area

Pleasant hotel, convenient for sights

Quite a pleasant hotel in an ideal location to view the sights of Goslar. A bit noisy when people were moving around and talking in the corridors, and paying for parking is never fun. The front desk staff could have done a better job of providing information - you had to know the right questions to ask. For example, my husband asked for the key to the pool so he could go for a swim and they didn't advise him that they also had robes available.

Das Zimmer war sauber und hell ., die Ausstattung hat uns gefallen, das Personal war nett und hilfsbereit, abends an der Bar war es hervorragend, tolle Cocktails wurden uns serviert. Das Frühstück hat uns sehr gemundet, es war umfangreich und sehr lecker. Wir würden das Hotel Achtermann immer wieder besuchen und auch weiter empfehlen.

Zimmer war gut, Personal sehr freundlich. Frühstücksbuffet extrem gut. Im kleinen Schwimmbad waren die Liegen und der Teppich mit Wasserflecken übersät was dem ganzen leider einenschmuddeligen Eindruck gab. Schade.

Das Hotel ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Im Zimmer konnte man das Fenster nicht abdunkeln, weil eine Seite der Gardine kaputt war, das Deckenlicht konnte man nicht anlassen, weil es geflackert hat, im Bad war der Handtuchhalter abgebrochen. Schade, es war mal eins der besten Hotels in Goslar.

Das Hotel ist zentrumsnah und hat ein angebundenes Parkhaus. Das Hotel bietet einen kleinen Pool mit Whirlpool und einen guten Saunabereich.
Das Personal ist freundlich, die Zimmer ausreichend groß und das Frühstücksangebot war in Ordnung.
Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass es das dann schon mit den guten Dingen war. Die Zimmer sind irgendwo in den 80ern stehen geblieben. Flecken an Wänden, im Teppich, Schimmel im Badezimmer, alte Fenster, die beim Öffnen schon halb aus der Angel fallen. Alte Sanitäranlagen, Spülung, Wasserdruck etc. echt schlecht. Staub und Schmutz und ein muffiger Geruch. Die Möbel krin Hingucker (auch alt) und die Matratzen (Federkern) durchgerockt. Neben dem Hotel direkt eine Bahnlinie mit regelmäßigem Schienenverkehr.
Schmutzige Teller im Frühstücksraum waren auf 3 von 6 Tellerstapeln.
Für den Preis hatten wir def. Besseres erwartet. Wir sind enttäuscht und werden hier nicht wieder übernachten.

Die Unterkunft war größtenteils sauber und das Personal freundlich.
Die Betten war schon ziemlich durchgelegen und die Wände im Zimmer waren schon abgenutzt. Das Frühstück war gut, mir persönlich fehlten Beschriftungen am Aufschnitt.
Was uns sehr gestört hat , war die Bahn direkt neben unserem Flur zum Zimmer. Man hört und spürt diese deutlich.
Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt, war es okay für uns aber wir würden das Hotel nicht nochmal buchen.

Stort hotell, svårt att hitta på hotellet. Bara en plats för laddning av elbil, som lätt blir upptagen, så man får förlita sig på offentliga laddplatser i närheten, där man bara får ladda 2 timmar åt gången, så det kan bli ganska omständigt.

Fortræffelig beliggenhed i byen. Hyggeligt ældre hotel med en god atmosfære og mange gode hyggesteder både ude og inde. Vi benyttede os ikke af spa og pool faciliteter fordi byen og området til fulde optog os i de par dage vi besøgte Goslar.
Værelset var lille, men ok, rent og ordentligt.
Vi kommer helt sikkert gerne igen til denne skønne by og område og vil vil absolut vælge dette hotel igen

We got a room with no hot water. We adressed it to the reception and also at check out. We were told that he - the receptionist - could not give a discount, we should write a mail to the management. So we did, but got the answer that we should have complained, and that everybody that had complained had got a discount on side. We wrote back that we did complain and asked them to re-concider their answer. Know we hear nothing … instead they have fully charged for the room.
The room and location was beside that fine. But the feedback we have to rate zero because of this treatment

Vi boede på et spahotel i Goslar og havde en blandet oplevelse. Morgenmaden var god og klassisk, men hotellet var alt for stort og manglede derfor hygge og charme – det føltes ikke indbydende. Spaområdet var skuffende og levede ikke op til forventningerne. Der var kun plads til én elbil, hvilket var upraktisk. Alt i alt ikke et sted, vi har lyst til at vende tilbage til.

Das Hotel ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Man sollte es hier und da renovieren. Der Wellnessbereich hat viel zu bieten, jedoch fehlt den Räumlichkeiten das entsprechende Ambiente/Ausstattung für ein entspanntes Wohlbefinden.

Zimmer war ziemlich abgewohnt, es war noch die Folie an der neuen Toilette. Im Bad diente eine Feuchtraum Leuchtstofflampe als Beleuchtung.So eine Leuchte gehört in Kellerräume oder Garagen aber nicht in ein Hotelzimmer.

Das Hotel ist nahe der Fußgängerzone. Der Weihnachtsmarkt ist gut erreichbar.
Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen, was vor allem im Frühstücksraum sehr auffällt

Leider haben die Angestellten es versäumt eine sehr laute private Feier zu unterbinden, welche das Hotel bis 2 Uhr wach gehalten hat. Diese wurde erst dann aufgelöst, als eine Schlägerei drohte
