Excellent gym with 4+ machines (bicycles, ellipticals), dumbbells up to 20kg, a cable machine, and an assisted power rack.

I stayed in a room with a loft / spiral stair case. Lots of space, but slightly inconvenient as bed is upstairs and bathroom / wardrobe is downstairs. The room was very dark with a single window due to building design, so could use more lighting in the living room like a floor lamp(s).

Rooftop bar is a nice addition with amazing views. Definitely mention you are a hotel guest as they were at capacity and limiting access. Overall would stay again at this hotel as the building is so unique and very close to a metro station (one block away).

We stayed in the Junior suite at this hotel and thought it was great. Lovely, big space. Nice shower. We used the gym and thought that was very good for a hotel gym. The breakfast was very nice with many good things you could order in addition to the buffet. We liked the location of the hotel- a little bit tucked away but still close to the city center. Would stay here again!

I really enjoyed this hotel - it is an experience! The rooms are comfortable, almost luxurious….the breakfast buffet is amazing, they have a nice spa/sauna, and a reasonable (albeit just essentials) gym. The neighborhood is quiet, so no noise, and easy walking distance to parts of Cologne.

Note: the front desk is rarely staffed, which is a key gap in case of emergency needs or scheduling changes.

It was a clean, nicely kept hotel. The rooftop bar was good to head to in the evening. Facilities in surrounding area are limited and quite a walk to the key tourist places. Asking questions of the hotel staff was not great at all. Limited answers despite trying to gain an insight into specific places.

Loved the hotel, relatively easy parking for Cologne. Walking distance to everything downtown. Free GOOD Coffee 24/7, which is basically the most important need I have. If there’s one thing, the elevators are a little suspect😅. But that’s probably due to retrofitting them into an antique building. I will be staying there again next year when I come back.

No customer service to help with suitcases, checking in to our room, no security in the building, anyone can walk in off the street, take the lift or stairs to any floor.
Someone knocked on our door when we opened the door some drunk young guy pushed in to enter our room however my wife pushed him out and closed the door, when we complained they didn’t know what to do. I asked them to check the security cameras on that floor, no cameras anywhere other than the reception. They apologised and said they had a function on that evening so could have been anyone wondering through the hotel.
There are homeless, drunk and drugged people around the block with empty and broken bottles on the footpath.
The reason we booked this hotel is it had a Hilton brand, unfortunately was more like a 3 star motel.
I will not stay here again and do no recommend it.

I stayed at 8th floor and during checkin my key card didnt work and had to go reception twice.
During breakfast , the lady couldnt find my name and had to wait long. But it was top of the list.
There was no amenities in the room accept towels. Looks like the room was not ready. Overall my experience was poor

Not a comfortable place. 11 floors 2 tiny lifts one out of order the whole time. No restaurant despite saying so on website. The bar has no comfortable seating nothing to lean on. The view is not amazing either. We had to have some bar food as we couldn’t get out to the town due to a minor injury so could not get a meal at all that night. when we arrived at 10 pm we had to walk quite a distance to McDonald’s to get something! Horrendous place.

Overall, hotel was pretty nice. Some of the customer service was good, some not so much.
Room smelled of drains and after I notified the staff, they just sprayed the whole room with disinfectant, so it smelled like toilet cleaner instead.
Spa was nice. Room was cosy. Great views from the bar. But the price was a bit too much for the stay.

Beautiful Building

A beautiful building directly opposite an aqua park and a short 10 minute walk to Neuplatz. The area immediately outside was quiet.

Nice spacious room (king junior suite on 3rd floor) with a comfy bed and a view of the aqua park.

The lighting level of the room was a little low for my preference, even with all lights and lamps switched on. The bed was comfy but I did later notice that the quilt had a stain on it. One day, I was only left 1 bath towel. I could not get the phone in my room to work.

The breakfast was very disappointing. I went once at 09:30 and the buffet items had all but been taken so had to wait for replenishments. I opted for a more expensive hot breakfast (31 euros) but nobody came to take my order.

The room service menu was disappointing, especially given that the only other dining option was bar snacks in the rooftop bar. I did eat there one evening and found that the service was good, and whilst a restricted menu, the food was hot and delicious, and I enjoyed a cocktail.

There was often only one receptionist at the desk so you tended to have to wait to ask a simple question. They were professional and helpful though. The lobby was compact but visually impressive.

The spa (5th floor) was disappointing in that there were no staff, no lockers or changing rooms. There was a nice relaxation area with loungers and a nice, clean, spacious sauna. There was no steam room.

Cologne is a beautiful, friendly city.

Great hotel but for one significant issue. There is a very unpleasant and lingering smell of sewage in the hotel entrance from their car park which continues in the bathroom of our room on the 11th floor. Such a shame and hopefully just a temporary issue. Apart from that we would recommend it for its design, comfort, service, roof top bar, car park and location

I booked a three-night business stay at the Wasserturm Hotel Cologne, Curio Collection by Hilton, through Expedia and paid in full. I was drawn to the hotel's unique design but unfortunately checked out early on the second day. Here are the pros and cons of my experience:

Pros:
- Very Impressive design of the building
- Friendly staff at breakfast
- Beautiful Nice open-air garden area

Cons:
1. Upon arrival at 10:00 pm after a long day, the receptionist checked us in hastily without providing information about amenities like the free mini-bar or open-air garden.
2. The room lacked business amenities such as shoe polish, toothpaste, and shaving cream.
3. The bed mattresses were worn out and should be replaced, although the pillows were comfortable.
4. The air conditioning did not work effectively.
5. Lack of ventilation in the room led to a musty smell.
6. The bed sheets were soiled and stained.
7- lights in the room are very dim particularly at night.

In conclusion, as a business traveler, I do not recommend this hotel. Despite the positive aspects, the overall experience was disappointing, and I chose to leave prematurely. Unfortunately, I was charged for the full three-night stay as I had already paid upfront.

Gorgeous old fortress type building with absolutely breathtaking rooftop bar. The rooms were modern. The staff, while dealing with a worldwide cybersecurity issue, were so patient and friendly despite clearly having a lot of additional stressors. There was delicious kolsch upon arrival with little snacks. Subway is about a 2 minute walk from the door. The hotel itself is set back very private and safe. For the pricepoint, I don't think there's any place in Koln that can beat this.

Air conditioning was broken in first room (not cooling below 24.3C) and if you opened the door all rooms in that floor could access your room because there are no divisions in the balconies. The fridge did not work either, the solution was to take it out of the furniture and put it in the middle of an already small room. Did get moved on the third day to a similar room with working ac for one night, the second night it did not cool below 22 C. While in the city not much attractive in close vecinity. Bar upstairs was nice on the other hand.

Lovely repurposed old water tower, and our room on the 9th floor had a great view up to the cathedral. The hotel isn’t in that great an area, but you can get into town on the metro stop (Post Strasse) almost next door. The interior of the building is interesting and you can get free tea/coffee/bottled water in the comfortable lounges downstairs. There is a bar on the top floor, but it was quite noisy, so not a peaceful place to enjoy the view!

Disappointing for the price

Overall Wasserturn is an impressive building and the rooms are modern and clean.
However our bathroom had a plumbing issue and despite repeated requests it wasn’t fixed during our stay, nor was an alternative option offered. Considering the prices are in the region luxury I would’ve expected a lot more.
Also service in the Botanix bar was really poor, which was really disappointing given that this was a special birthday we were celebrating.

Where to start. Seemed as though every day had an unpleasant surprise.

First day No AC. Staff came to room. Maybe this will fix it. Return after dinner. No AC. So they said those aren’t renovated rooms. AC doesn’t always work. So they moved us to a better room (appreciated) with good AC. By the way the front desk takes outside calls with lengthy questions. Phones don’t work in the rooms so if you have a problem take the elevator downstairs and stand in line.

Showed up to breakfast next morning 9:30 (It ends at 10). Not much left. For example, one piece of melon left. No replenishment.

New towels but indifferent cleaning and no water replenishment that day.

Following day returned 9 pm. No cleaning at all. Towels on the floor. They got the supervisors to clean, provide new towels and replenish to water in the minibar. Ironically as we were about to leave final morning, room cleaner showed up.

Hotel is in a strange area. 15 minute walk to lots of things but nothing useful close.

By the way, the roof bar will always be open tomorrow. So we never saw it.

I get it. Corona. Staffing problems. But we stayed at other chain hotels: a Radisson in Mannheim, a Hyatt in Mainz and a Hampton by Hilton in Kaiserslautern. (Visiting friends). All provided convenient stays without repetitive really unprecedented inconveniences. Boutique hotels did better.

Nice hotel, but service is lacking

The building itself and the interior are beautiful, and the concept is really cool. But the service is severely lacking.
- Upon getting to my room, I was hoping to be able to make a coffee. The room comes with Nespresso pods... but no Nespresso machine. I had to get that from room service.
- On Sunday night after returning from dinner, I asked the front desk what time the hotel bar closes. He said it was closed then, but it would be open every other night during my stay. Monday night I go to head up to the bar, and the elevator button doesn't work. Turns out the bar is actually closed for renovations... too bad, it looks great in the pictures.
- On Monday, I left the \"please clean room\" sign on the door from 8:30am, and it was still there at 4:30pm when I returned to the room. No one cleaned, and we had to ask them to clean while we were away at dinner.
- On Tuesday, we didn't leave the sign up, but they still didn't clean the room. Oddly... they had come in the room while we were away, and they left the key card, but they didn't actually clean.
- Also on Tuesday, after having been at the hotel for 48 hours, they locked me out of my room. After going to the front desk, they said that I had only paid for two nights. I proved otherwise, and they said that someone had actually forgotten to check me in, and that it registered me as a no-show. How is that even possible?

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne duplex suite. Beim Check in wurden wir informiert, dass die minibar inkl. Ist. Drin waren 1 flasche fanta und 2 Flaschen wasser. Auf Nachfrage wurde gesagt, es fehlen Cola und bier. Nach der bitte, die bar aufzufüllen hatten wir immerhin eine Flasche Cola. Auf Nachfrage nach amenity Kit mit Nagelfeile und wattestäbchen haben wir nie eine Antwort oder selbiges erhalten. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt, für den sportlichen Preis aber mehr erwartet. Die Bar auf dem Dach ist toll

Nettes Personal, vor allem beim Frühstück sehr zuvorkommend. Unterkunft grundsätzlich in die Jahre gekommen. Aufzüge sehr alt und langsam, Klimaanlage, Föhn, Telefon, Heißwasser und Klospülung im Zimmer defekt und konnte nicht repariert werden. Wir haben ein kostenloses Upgrade erhalten auf die Junior Suite, dort war alles super. Wunderschöne aber teure Bar auf dem Dach. Lage des Hotels ist ok, sehr gute Anbindung an Öffis

Leider ließ sich das Fenster im Zimmer 106 nicht öffnen, defekt. Vielfach repariert, scheint problematisch zu sein. Wäre sonst kippbar. Schlafe nicht mit Klimaanlage und liebe Luft, daher nicht ok für mich. Schade auch, dass der Blick auf den Dom von der Dachterrasse, nicht möglich ist. Wenn man sich an die Absperrung hält. Leider ist der 1. Stock hellhörig. Menschen hatten sich zum Frühstück verabredet, ihre Unterhaltung war, als wären sie in meinem Zimmer. Wollte das Hotel seit der Eröffnung kennenlernen, architektonische Lösung und Design haben mir sehr gefallen. Und die Hundebibliothek.

Ich war zum ersten Mal im Hilton Wasserturm Köln in der fünften Jahreszeit und ich war sehr zufrieden. Das Personal war zuvorkommend und freundlich. Beim Check-in war das Zimmer noch nicht fertig und mir wurde direkt etwas zu trinken angeboten, um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken. Das Zimmer war wunderschön und es war sehr ruhig, man hat von den anderen Gästen nichts gehört.

Vi havde et fint ophold på et hotel med en praktisk og central beliggenhed. Værelset var pænt indrettet, og sengene var meget komfortable, hvilket gav os en god nattesøvn.

Morgenmaden kunne dog have været bedre – udvalget var en smule sparsomt og ikke særligt inspirerende. Det trak lidt ned, men alt i alt levede hotellet op til vores forventninger.

Et særligt højdepunkt var baren på toppen, som absolut er et besøg værd – fantastisk udsigt og god stemning.

Die besondere Architektur hat uns sehr zugesagt.
Die Bar auf dem Dach hat ebenfalls sehr gefallen.
Spa und Sauna sind klein aber fein. Die Sauberkeit im gesamten Hotel ist uns ebenfalls aufgefallen.
Ein toller Hotelbesuch für uns. Dankeschön.

Außergewöhnliches Hotel in zentraler Lage

+ super freundliches Personal
+ sehr schneller Check-in und Check-out
+ Upgrade auf eine Junior Suite
+ außergewöhnliche Architektur im Wasserturm
+ es steht eine Lounge zur Verfügung, in der man sich kostenlos Wasser, Kaffee und Tee holen kann
+ zentrale Lage des Hotels - zum Shoppen hat man es nicht weit

- enges Parkhaus mit kleinen Parkplätzen, es hat etwas gedauert bis wir das Ampelsystem verstanden hatten
- kleines Bad mit nur minimaler Ablagefläche (ist wohl der Architektur des Wasserturms geschuldet)

Es war einfach eine super Übernachtung in diesem Hotel! Ich übernachte häufig in Hotels, auch in gehobener Klasse. Aber so ein gigantisch gutes Frühstück hatte ich schon lange nicht mehr!! Aber auch der Rest war Top!!! Vielen Dank!!

Interessantes Hotel mit gutem Standard. Die Zimmer sind jedoch etwas klein für die Preiskategorie, die Fenstermechanik ist seltsam, aber die Rooftopbar, wie auch der Spabereich ist ein ganz grosses Plus.
