The whole atmosphere and thematic of the place is amazing! If you’re into retro-futuristic this is your place no doubt. Staff is kind and helpful especially lady at the front desk in the morning(couldn’t get her name, curly hair) she’s is one of a kind. Location is really good as well since you can walk to Snow Summit or The Village if you feel like driving. Really satisfied with price-value at Big Bear.

The moment you walk into the lobby it takes you back few decades but in a good way. They have a beautiful lobby nice vintage set up with a modern twist. Staff was friendly and check in was a breeze. The room we got was beautiful it also had a vintage look to the room which was very relaxing and provided pure comfort throughout our stay. The property was quiet and peaceful even being on the main highway in town you couldn't hear much of the cars on the road. The location is great as planned its located not to far from the village and few minutes away from grocery store if you plan on cooking in the room which made the stay feel like being at home. Overall great new hotel from what the staff informed us its a newly remodeled hotel with great upside potential. I cant wait till they get that bar going in the lobby. Good luck I hope nothing but the best for this location..... Also if they're was one thing I would change is i would take the tv out the room and put into near the fireplace. We couldn't enjoy the fire while watching a movie at the same time which was a bummer but it sure won't stop us from returning!

Our experience was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. We waited for more than three hours under inappropriate conditions, and despite having made and confirmed our reservation in advance, we were never given our room. This lack of organization and professionalism is inexcusable. As a direct result of this negligence and the prolonged wait in the cold, my children became ill, which is completely unacceptable. We were forced to leave and find another hotel on our own, causing us stress, concern, and additional expenses. This situation reflects a serious lack of responsibility toward your guests.

Just stayed at The Burgundy (formerly the Black Forest Lodge) and had such a great experience from start to finish. Huge shoutout to Josh and Jordan — their hospitality truly made the stay next level. Super welcoming, helpful, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect.

We stayed in the family suite, which was incredibly comfy and cozy. The fireplace + jacuzzi combo right in the bedroom in front of the TV was a total game changer — perfect for relaxing after a long day. The whole room had that warm mountain lodge vibe that makes you instantly feel at home.

The property has some really cool and unique touches too, like a fireplace made from an old recycled boat, which was such a fun and creative detail. There’s also a heated spa, ample parking space, and a free continental breakfast that was a great way to start the day.

One of my favorite surprises was the old school Nintendo in the lobby — such a fun throwback and a great touch for families and kids (and kids at heart). Plus, being walking distance to the village made it super convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring.

Overall, cozy, unique, and full of character with amazing service. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!I’m

the water heater wasn't big enough to support filling up the hot tub in 1 setting. had to run the water then wait an hour for hot water again 3 times to fill. And construction was going on over what was supposed to be complimentary breakfast which was just packages muffins. Otherwise it was nice

Great costumer service at the lobby,the room was renovated when we got there it was open with a key on the door we just removed the key we got in to the room we close the door,later a staff came in without knowing that we where there cause he was fixing something on the sink, but he was so embarrassed and he apologized him self many times, we didn’t had a problem cause we understand that they where finishing his work there was just a miscommunication but everything else was great and when we checked out the lady was very friendly with a big smile I definitely will stay again, the room had everything what I need….

Staff support is lacking. They don’t answer the phone and don’t offer after hour support. On January 22-24 my family and I stayed in Loft A. The first night, Thursday, was fine even though the pull out couch is extremely uncomfortable and the lighting was very dim, especially in the kitchen.
Friday, January 23 was inexcusably the worst night of our lives. Around 11:45pm we could hear our neighbors drinking and talking very loudly. Then at 2:00am!! We could hear very loud moaning. We are a family with 4 small children! All of us couldn’t get any sleep. We had a 5 hour drive back home the next morning and no one was available to help us. I felt disregarded when I reported the incident in person the next morning. I wasn’t offered any assistance or simple apology for the fact that this had an impact our children.

The staff was great! I was actually excited to stay in this room and for $161/night I thought it would be awesome! They are remodeling the hotel which is fine but I feel like they should state that with third party sites since the room #28 was being prepared for paint. That being said here are my pros and cons.
Pros:
Friendly Staff.
Large room.
Nice tub.
Nice fire (low on flame but still puts out heat).
Clean comfortable bed.

Cons:
Spackling on many patches of the walls (as if they are preparing to paint).
Many chipped/cracked wall corners and pictures missing just leaving the nails exposed.
Non working lights.
Old shower with mold at the base.
No peep hole, no outside light or window to see out if someone knocks.
TV remote needed batteries.
Flooring uneven and dipped in places.
Was not the same room the pictures portry on the Expedia website.
Pool is green and spa is clean but surrounding area is uninviting and old.
Front door has paint tape and was in the middle of being prepped for paint.
Overall for the price I was bummed. I've stayed many places in Big Bear and for this price I feel the room should have at least been painted.

I can't comment on the breakfast as I was woken by the staff because the electricity went out in half the building and the breakers were in my rooms bathroom. I was just ready to leave and take a loss as I didn't feel it was worth $950 for 5 nights.

Walls are super thin, could hear our next door neighbors TV all night and kids crying.

TV remote didn’t work. The continental breakfast is pretty much coffee and frozen pastries, which pastries ran out.

We got a room with a fire place. They charged $15 for fire wood. I would think it would be included with a $300 a night room charge.

They checked us in late check in was 3:30 we were checked in at 4:10 after we had called to check on the room, the tv was broken volume did not want to turn down called the front desk twice was placed on hold and never actually had that resolved super annoying. I ended up fixing the tv myself they had placed the
Roku stick into the wrong hdmi port so the volume was set had to switch it so that the volume could adjust. Roku volume control broken and somebody kept messing with our tv they would connect wirelessly and switch out of what we were watching. Cabin was nice but the main windows were open and for a cabin in the middle of the facility it was annoying seeing cars drive by, lights shinning through the bed rooms had curtains but the rest of the cabin had decorative curtains that do not close. The hotel itself is under renovation the breakfast was so mediocre coffee and prepackaged goods it was suppose to be set up and open by 8 but at 8 the doors had just opened and the staffer was just setting up. There were only 4 towels in the cabin, the kitchen though it did have pots and pans and dishes no salt and a handful of creamers. For the price you are better off getting a Airbnb in the area the amenities are pretty much the same

The room was clean, but the bottom sheet needs to be replaced - it has small holes in it - I reported it to the front desk. No info on how to use the TV -we could only get weird channels. No hand towels - only a wash cloth and bath towel. To turn on the light by the bed, you had to squat down and turn it on/off. Also, we had an upstairs room and no elevator. There was a nice mini frig/freezer in the room. Also a coffee pot, but only regular, no decaf. Breakfast was a joke - you could make coffee (again, only regular) and pre packaged blueberry or banana nut muffin.

the prop owner said that they were in the middle of refurbishing so she apologized for any inconvenience. the only inconvenience was the morning breakfast but I was able to have a good conversation with her both times I was in there.

the only real complaint I have is that there wasnt a lot of storage space for clothing. there was a space for hanging clothes but very little night stand space.

it was a great price and very friendly service. atmosphere was great. the space has a very modern retro feeling to it which was really nice. I also had a kitchenette which was very nice.

I would definitely come back. im currious to see how things will look once renovation is complete but based on my stay I expect it to be worth coming back to.

Overall, good experience. Good location, central. If you want more off the grid, go off the main strip, not here. The staff was very friendly and nice. Bed was cozy enough, heat was good. They are doing renovations that seem to be nice upgrade. My room was good and clean. My only wish would’ve been that they upgrade hot tub area and make the water hot. It wasn’t hot enough to go in on a cold night. I would return here. Nice fall stay in big bear! 🐻🏔️🌲🍁

The cabin we stayed in was really dated, mold in the shower and a tiny little coffee maker but no mugs and no stir sticks, kinda pointless. The jacuzzi tub worked well but the handles and the jet button were completely falling off the tub, but they did operate. When I went to check in, I was about an hour early. They said they’d text me when it was ready, they never did. If you need a cheap place to stay and are looking for convenient location, it’s good for that. If you want cleanliness and amenities, than it’s not for you.

It might be safer to enter and exit from the side roads than from the main road.
My room was in the 1990s black and white building next to the road. It had road noise because the window was open to plumb in a portable air conditioner. Gaps in the sealing let in some road noise. It is after cooling season so I suggested taking the hose out and closing the window.
Like many 1990s buildings from that time, it has no central lighting in each room. So, the main room and the bathroom are a bit dark.
In the next renovation, it would be good to provide more power sockets. I had to balance the coffee maker precariously on top of the portable AC to plug it in.

Staff is great and helpful, but the room was nothing as advertised. In the picture for double room, the description had a picture of a very modern and bright looking room with two windows and plenty of sun light. In the description it also said kitchenette. I wanted to cook. Turned out it was a very dark looking very old fashioned looking room where I had to turn lights on to not feel like in a cave and a microwave was my kitchenette I guess. The continental breakfast I imaged also something else other than paper plates with scones or croissants, apples, bagels and hard boiled eggs in plastic packaging. That’s it. Also, please put a curtain in front of the door window, that light from the lanterns outside was shining so brightly inside the room at night and at 6 in the morning.

Out of all the trips we have taken this year, this place probably had the most comfortable bed and pillows!
We were in town for Oktoberfest, this location was only about a 15-minute drive, maybe a 5-minute drive from some really nice scenery, walks, and right down the street from the main town shops. Check in was super easy. Check out was even easier, The staff was friendly, and while we were there for our 2 days they were steadily making improvements to the ground.

This stay was awful from the start. Property is highly dated and very dingy. Breakfast was a cold bagel. When we were checking out, we noticed some medications were missing from our room. There was a missing key, so I have no idea what to think.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! Looks cute in photos but jacuzzi doesn’t work, fireplace doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money!!!
