We were in room 307. There was no hot water in the shower our entire stay. Toiletries from the previous guest were left in the room, sticky floors and coffee area. Broken hair dryer. When all of this was reported to the front desk nothing was done about it and the response we were given was that the desk clerk was by themself so nothing they could do. I’ve been asking for 5 days now to speak to a manager but he’s not been in apparently.

2 stars because the place is cute, but run down. And the beds were comfortable, location is great.

Upon arrival, we were assigned a room, but unfortunately, it lacked hot water. Prior to this, we had specifically requested a ground-floor room; however, the front desk clerk informed us that no rooms were available and that this was the only option. As a result, we were unable to bathe. Our four-and-a-half-year-old son stood under cold water for 10 minutes, waiting for it to heat, but we ultimately gave up, and he went to sleep after a long day of skiing without a proper shower.
When I brought this to the clerk’s attention, she offered me keys to a used room so I could shower, and I agreed initially. However, I quickly expressed my anger and made it clear that I was not willing to pay for a room under these circumstances. After about 15 minutes of anger and frustration, miraculously, she found a room—on the ground floor, as we originally requested. However, by that time, it was 10 p.m., and our son was already asleep. We had settled in the upper room without a shower.

This place was awesome! Chris was at the front desk when we arrived and he couldn’t have been nicer! The room we had with 2 queen bunk beds and a couch had lots of bed space for a big family and even tvs on the wall of the two bottom bunks. We really enjoyed the lobby with its couches and games and a huge fireplace with a fire going 24 hours. The indoor pool and spa were awesome tool especially considering we were there in the middle of a snowstorm week that dumped tons of snow. Dog and cat friendly and super conveniently located by town and the bowl alley just across the street. Great stay, would definitely book again!

The room smelled like pet urine. The place lacks serious soundproofing. It's so loud after 5am with people getting ready to ski. It constantly sounds like people are stomping all around and ear plugs couldn't cut it out.

Management is cheap and leaves heaters off in the middle of winter so the rooms are freezing when you check in. Heater was broken in the first room so we had to move. No shower curtain. Dirty throw blankets and throw pillows on the bed. Those things are always disgusting and everyone prefers just plain white sheets/blankets. Leave heaters on so the rooms aren’t 40 degrees for people. Avoid this hotel if you want a comfortable stay. Heater was loud and cracking noises all throughout the night. Very poor nights rest. Positive was the bed was very comfortable.

Unfortunately they are understaffed and lack quality service due to not enough staff. The room had a musty/mold smell that hit me upon entering so we had to keep the window open and fan running during winter. I wouldnt stay here again

To begin when walking in it smells like cat and to find out they have two pet cats that live in the hallways and the front desk. So not a good stay for someone with cat allergies. When checking in at 4:00 pm. The room that was provided was not serviced and we walked into a very messy room. I have photos. Also parking is 15.00 per night and not free and listed in the about of their hotel amenities. Many customers were not pleased by their service and it was a pricy stay to not be provided the services customers are paying for and that is a clean, friendly environment.

The only issue (if that's what you want to call it) there is two cats roaming beautiful Cats however my husband and I are both allergic so sleeping was peaceful but it was ok. Hotel is pet friendly my thoughts that was only towards dogs. So that was my mistake for thinking that way. However everything else was wonderful.

Came here as a super last minute stay for one night on a Saturday night. I honestly only stayed in the room and didn't really venture out to explore the property. That being said the review is on the room and service.

Upon waking is it definitely presented minimalistic and neat, cute decor, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The mini fridge was stocked with sodas and counter had snacks for reasonable prices. The bed was super comfortable and I honestly did not want to get out.

Staff was friendly and professional and definitely made me feel welcomed. I would gladly come back for another stay.

Stay here if you love cats and aren’t allergic. They are roaming around inside halls, common areas and in and out of rooms while the maid cleans with the door open. If you are allergic to cats maybe book somewhere else.

Stayed in the family suite with two kids and a dog. Everyone enjoyed the 4 queen bunk beds and the arcade machine in the room. Room also had a fridge and a freezer and a microwave. Plenty of space in the open plan room. Bathroom was small and shower a bit leaky but it was fine. Note, no elevators so you will carry your cases/dog crate etc etc up and down stairs. Janet on the front desk was excellent, very friendly and helpful. There are two hotel cats, Sierra and Blue. There’s also a nice indoor pool and hot tub, a rare commodity in big bear. Hotel is an 8 min walk to the main downtown village and 30 second walk to the bowling alley across the road. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you!

I'm not sure why this place has 5 stars. The staff were not very helpful, and the place has a really unpleasant smell. We had to go to the store to buy fragrance candles to try and rid the bad smell. The room was very damp and cold. The heater didn't work, and when we asked, the staff said, \"There should be a switch somewhere\".

Not the best, sorry, and not cheap.

No coffee cups or creamer in room, only 1 coffee pod even though there was a keurig. There was no view of the lake, I did see trash outside my window, the fridge froze our drinks. The front desk was unresponsive when the people in the room next to us were fighting, loud yelling and it sounded like someone was being thrown against the wall. They never responded to my texts or phone call and nobody was at the desk- we ended up having to call 911

The walls are paper thin so I could hear the couple next door watching something loud - there aren’t TVs in the room so I guess they brought a laptop with them or something. The shower was original to the property and the glazing was pitted and falling apart. There were spiders and mildew around the bathroom because there isn’t a vent - just the window. Everything in the room looks nice when you stand way back at the door, but when you get up close you see it’s very surface level. The people at the front desk are nice, and the property is convenient walking distance to the village, so it wasn’t terrible, it’s just the room.

Enjoyed my stay but improvements could be made

Pros: Walking distance to The Village. Thoughtful and considerate staff. Comfortable bed. Some elevated touches such as the air purifier in the hallways. White noise machine in the room (as a solution for some other reviews mentioning noise in hallways/through walls).

Cons: Bathroom updates done sloppily, mold on ceiling, and paint peeling off window sill. Unfortunately not very clean - animal fur was on the comforter and Pendleton blanket - which is an issue for those with allergies/asthma (like me).

Beds were comfy minus the dog hair in them and little spiders all along the window sill. Room smelled bad so we had to go buy air fresheners, entire family was struggling with the odor. Empty Pepsi cans under the couch. No phone to call the front desk when we needed extra toilet paper, only provided one roll for a week stay. What if there was an emergency?

Overall not my favorite place and would not stay here again, I would have gotten a refund if I could have.

We also had to listen to loud dump trucks sit in idle for over an hour multiple days in a row parked in the alley next to our room both very early in the morning and the afternoon.

First the positives: staff was friendly, location was great as it’s right by the village and the location is quiet.
The quirks: they have two friendly resident cats that roam the lobby and the halls. I loved that but just fyi. There is sort of a crystals vibe here with crystal lamps in the room and hallway. There was a boom box plugged in at the hallway playing until about 10 pm. There isn’t really any outdoor space attached to the building that you’d want to sit at. They had three picnic tables surrounded by odd storage of things like part of a toilet. You could see this eye sore from the room.
The negative: terrible night’s sleep for all three nights. The floor boards creaked and walls are thin so you heard your neighbor’s movements and voices in rooms and hallways. Got a text that parking was free but front desk said there would be a charge for parking (in the end I was not charged). Rooms look nicer in photos than reality, with lots of polish needed throughout (broken door on cabinet that appeared to have one held a fridge but now was empty and dirty looking inside, general wear and tear like tired, stained paint in bathroom, a weird slatted radiator looking thing on the wall that looks dirty or dusty or in need of paint?, yet they had put in an updated mirror and some kitschy appliances, etc, to make it look funky modern hippy). For $200 a night I expect better, maybe the place would be good enough to get by at a lower price on the top floor.

Check-in was too late in the day 4pm. If we wanted to check-in earlier it would be an extra $50. We couldn’t use the tv. The worker tried her best to connect but she has no luck with the tv. Power shut off at 3am so we woke up with no electricity and we knew nothing about it. Food wasn’t available to us or coffee. Online it stated we had 1 free parking but when we checked in, we had to pay for parking. We will not be returning to Sierra Blue.

Old property, looks like it's undergoing some renovations. While our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, there was visible water damage on the bathroom ceiling and antiquated furniture. Minimal staff but very friendly. Walking distance to the Village was very convenient. Not bad for the price.

The staff were extremely friendly. The property needs an overhaul, though. For the price of each night they charge there is no way I should smell and see mold in the room. It is a health hazard and should be addressed as soon as possible. In addition, the walls are paper thin, so noise is booming through the rooms.

The property was already doing construction on the pool
Yet only notified us that the swim portion of this \"swim club\" a day and a half in advance
We did not have enough time to replace this hotel as we were already traveling
The least off the hotel could have done was give us a partial refund
Especially since it was very very hot in Big Bear during our stay
All they offered was if we decided to ever come back we could get a percentage off. That doesn't help the one day we had to stay in Big Bear

The positives the room is nice. The bathroom needed updating but the room was decent
The negative. There's no outdoor space other than the parking lot
There's no nice seating area
The pool wasn't available. The jacuzzi wasn't available, so if you're not sitting in your room, there's no actual amenities or anything else to enjoy of the hotel
The hallways just smelt like cat litter. I'm allergic to cats. I didn't know this ahead of time that there were cats

I think the website and Expedia need to just give quest 100 accurate information so we can make a decision on where to stay

The heater was blaring all night and you couldn’t turn it off. I had the windows open and it was 40 outside and 90 in the room. Nobody answered at the front desk. I wanted to use the pool but it was under construction and I really stayed because it said swim club. There was no swimming. It was not fun at all. Plus the next day was trash because I didn’t sleep all night because of the heat.

The place was so filthy we left at midnight and paid for another hotel down the street that was clean. Our expectations weren’t high, we only expected clean floors and sheets and unfortunately our white stocks turned black and the sheets had stains. We tried to suck it up but ultimately we made the decision to leave for a comfortable sleep. I let hotel management know our disappointment and currently waiting for a response.
