I really liked staying here. Loved the high ceilings and exposed brick. The location was unbeatable. I didn't have a car so didn't worry about parking. It was spotless. The one thing I did not like was being in a unit facing the ally. Nonstop noise interruptions between 3 and 8 am. Like loud alarm clocks going off. When I rebook I'll request an odd number unit instead of even.

We stayed in a 3BR/3BA two‑story loft at The Grant by Black Swan, and it was absolutely incredible. We originally booked a 2BR, but while we were en route to Savannah, The Grant reached out and offered an upgrade for a flat fee — and it was worth every penny.The space was beautifully appointed and stocked with everything we needed: coffee and creamer, laundry pods, dish tabs, trash bags — all the little things that make it feel like a home, not a hotel. My in‑laws traveled with us, and even they were blown away. Every time I communicated with management, they responded quickly and were genuinely attentive. The entire experience felt first‑class from start to finish.We’ll absolutely stay here again on future Savannah trips, and I’ll be checking Black Swan properties in other cities from now on. They’ve earned a loyal guest.

1/5 – Wrong Room, No Staff, Multiple Issues
Booked a loft for a romantic getaway and arrived to find I had been placed in a 2-bedroom unit without any prior notice or consent. I specifically chose and paid for the loft. had someone contacted me beforehand, I would have rebooked elsewhere. Instead, I found out at check-in with no recourse.
The problems didn’t stop there. The door wouldn’t open when we arrived, and we were left standing outside for several minutes because there is no staff on property to assist. When we finally got in, the shower had other guests’ hair in it. not the welcome you expect after a long trip. The electric coffee maker also didn’t function.
When I raised these issues, management offered a $125 future stay credit, useless to me since I have no plans to return to Savannah. A partial refund for a night where I didn’t receive what I paid for is the reasonable resolution here, and they declined.

Other issues such as noise from street, etc are also there but I was expecting those since they’re prominent in many reviews.

Avoid if you’re planning anything special. You will not get the room you booked, no one will be there if something goes wrong, and the property will not make it right.

The cost of the hotel was very reasonable for the size of the unit. The kitchen had everything that we needed, and the bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels. The beds were pretty comfortable. The only thing I would nitpick about the hotel are the pillows, they were too soft for us. Even after stacking them, our heads would pretty much be on the mattress after a few hours. Overall the hotel was great, I would just suggest bringing along a pillow you like (if possible).

I was a little bummed this time around. I’ve stayed here every time I’ve come to Savannah. First time though in a 2 bedroom. Sad the windows faced the alley. My room was next to the elevator. Obviously meant lots of noise throughout the day and night. Walls very thin. I must’ve been near a business because I could hear people’s names being called for their order in my bedroom. Also could hear the trash cans/workers in the alley as early as 4am. Also upon first entry a large water bug ran across the the living room under the sofa. My travel partner screamed as she was visiting GA for the first time and had never seen a bug that big. I truly love the Grant at Black Swan, but this was not a good experience this time around. Note: this was my first time in the 2 bedroom, I normally get a single for myself which has always faced Broughton St, not the alley. Hopefully next time will be a better experience. Again, every other time I’ve come I’ve had no issue with bugs or noise. Beds were comfy.

This was a great alternative to a hotel. An apartment with great space and an industrial chic vibe. We loved having a space to hang out and relax at the end of the day. And the location was great, right in the middle of everything and easy walking to everything near and off the river. We'll stay here again when we are back.

Great spot! It was very clean and updated, though a distinct odor lingered throughout our stay. We believe this was due to the exposed brick and original walls in the suite, but it was something we could easily tolerate.
The area is excellent, with plenty to see and do. Check-in was straightforward, but the messaging through Expedia, email, and text proved a bit confusing—though we eventually figured it out. I also wasn’t sure how to contact the owner if something went wrong or if we needed anything.
We’d definitely recommend this spot if you want to be close to food, drinks, and other activities. It’s great being able to walk out your door and be in the thick of the best Savannah has to offer.

I absolutely loved this property. I loved that it was right on one of the main streets, lots of restaurants around. The parking was annoying because there is no specific parking for the building so we had to pay $50 for 7pm-7am and then move the car to another place. People complained about the noise but i honestly did not hear much noice and the little noise there was did not bother us.

Review coming from a Family of 5 with 3 kids under 9 years old:

We spontaneously booked the 3 bedroom at The Grant for an overnight in Savannah with the kids ... and we could have stayed a week! The photos literally don't even compare to how beautiful our room was in person! The exposed brick, the modern furniture ... THE SPACE! Truthfully ... it felt like a little European getaway! And the best part was that we were right in the heart of shopping, food, etc.!

Parking:
This was tricky, but we made it work! We paid overnight parking in a garage - I was nervous about this, but it ended up being okay. A little frustrating to figure out how to drop off bags, repark car. If I were solo-parenting with 3 kids, the parking would have been a deal breaker!

Noise:
Savannah is one of the bachelor/bachlorette party capitals and there was a group staying that was super loud. My kids slept through it ... and to be fair: they may have been as loud in the morning. The rooms feel pretty noise proof, it was just hearing the group coming and going in the hallway that was super loud.

But the dumpsters - our room was on the back side overlooking the alley - thank God I read a previous review on the 6am dumpster wake up! This is a sound I was not prepared for ... a clanging of metal that woke us all up! It went on for longer than I hoped, but it was alarming!

Cleanliness: It was spotless! The only area that I felt a little ick was the showers having a little mildew.

We had a hard time checking in. The code they gave us did not work. We contacted them and they gave us a different code….that also didn’t work. The cleaning staff was there and saw that we were having trouble, so they helped us contact the property manager, which was very nice of them as they didn’t have to. After 30 minutes of trying to get in our room while trying to not piss my pants, I was finally given an “emergency code” that let us in the room. Between that bad check in experience, and the construction going on outside our unit, it is difficult to give a better score. The good is the room was very clean, and the location was right on the strip. Overall, a fair experience. My thanks again to the cleaning staff there who went above and beyond to help us get in.

The unit and the location were great but the noise level outside the primary suite in the alley was comically loud. Never experienced anything like it - and I lived in Manhattan. The windows provide no noise insulation at all. Trash trucks smashing dumpsters around, bar crowd fighting, yelling etc - all through the night - LOUD! We didn't sleep at all. We're exhausted. It’s a shame bc the place was otherwise great. Can never go back.

The layout of the 3br apartment was good and the rooms were well-appointed. However, the bedroom window was right above an alley where dumpsters were emptied each morning between 5am and 6am. This caused massive crashing noises which would last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. It woke us up every morning, rudely I might add. Also, know that there is overnight street parking only 2 nights per week. On other nights, you will need to park in the City's garage which is 2 blocks away and $32 per night. Daytime parking has meters and the maximum time allowed is 4 hours. Parking citations are issued promptly and plentifully, so beware. The location is otherwise good. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shops. Walking distance from the river. It felt reasonably safe and reasonably maintained. The ownership promptly responds to text messages.

The 2 bedroom was clean, very spacious, good showers, beds, plenty of basic necessities. I loved the decor and the exposed brick. Overall, we really enjoyed it. The one thing you might consider (for units that face the alley) there is a lot of delivery trucks/garbage/construction that start very early in the morning (like 4:30). This is only a problem for one of the bedrooms. Also, our TV was not connecting to internet and was very glitchy, but it was not a huge problem for us. We would stay here again.

This was perfect location to stay central to all things Savannah. The beds were very comfortable and had clean sustainable essentials for use. The only recommendation would be to add Kleenex as amenity. Kitchen had everything you would need and a full-size refrigerator. Check in and check out were super easy. Very nice place to spend a few days at while in Historic Savannah. Close to everything. Easy walk to most attractions. 20 minutes or less. Restaurants literally outside the entrance door. The apartment itself was as advertised. Clean, furniture and bed were comfortable. Everything you need to cook a meal if you don’t feel like going out. Construction going on nearby at the moment, but I didn’t really notice any noise from it. I found on street parking on Barnard St. About 2 blocks west of apartment. Only have to pay $24 a day—-8am-8pm Mon-Friday. Much cheaper than parking in a private garage. Recommend staying here if you get an opportunity. I will definitely be staying again, hopefully on all future trips to Savannah.

And I want to thank the hotel for helping me get my medicine back. I was already at the airport when I remembered that I forgot my medicine in the fridge. I called and said that if I called an Uber, they could deliver my medicine to the Uber. They were super attentive and delivered my medicine to the Uber so that it could deliver it to me at the airport.

Self-check in and communication leading up to check in was great. Simple instructions for access. The building is old (of course, since its historic Savannah), but modernized and renovated to where it becomes a very vibrant blend of old and new. Some of the items in the unit (ones we didn't use or need) were in need of replacement like cookware and some of the other utensils, etc. but that didn't bother us. The building can be a bit noisy from unit to unit or from outside, but it was quiet when we needed it to be. Also, we expect noise when located right in the heart of historic Savannah. The location is excellent for walkability to the area and we would definitely stay here again.

Not bad… but not great

I intentionally chose this place for its urban aesthetic. The exposed brick, bohemian, NYC-artist vibe (SCAD is just around the corner) took me right back to my 20s.

I rented the two-bedroom unit on the second floor. It’s a spacious apartment, not a hotel room, and that’s what I want. It was clean and well-equipped with a great kitchen (full fridge and dishwasher), washer and dryer, sofa bed, nice TV, and two full bathrooms. Truly ideal for a family.

So why not five stars? A few reasons:

First, the smell. There was a strong, musty odor that really lingered in the air. Something old, antique, maybe water damage? I noticed a similar smell in other buildings nearby, so it might be an age thing. Still, it was unpleasant enough that I had to use air fresheners and spray several times a day. It was especially bad at night.

Second, the noise. On the weekend, the street noise gets intense! Constant revving engines, loud music, the whole deal. Definitely something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.

Third, the elevator was out of order for a few days, which was inconvenient.

Minor note: some of the cookware wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been. Not all, but a few items needed washing before use.

Overall, pound for pound, it’s in a great location, feels secure, and the price was fair. The photos are accurate for the most part, though they can’t capture the smell or the weekend noise.

So close to being fantastic. I don’t think I’d stay again, but it’s not a bad option.

The location is extremely walkable, parking was not fun, we needed a car to visit a family member 10 minutes away in the hospital but if you are just visiting the city you absolutely don’t need a car and should try to avoid bringing one. The location was perfect. Right in the middle of everything. Very walkable. Parking wasn't terrible, but not great. There's a garage a couple blocks away. If you have a lot of bags, this could pose a challenge. The apartment itself is GREAT. Big, clean, high ceilings, urban loft vibe, and the bed is the most comfortable thing I've ever slept on. The only negative I have is the noise. The reviews I read alluded to this. But WOW, was it noisy. I cannot understate how noisy it was. LOUD. Cars driving by thumping and vibrating and blasting music at all hours of the night. People whooping and hollering on the street. It didn't quiet down until after 4 am. But even with the crazy amount of noise, we slept like babies because of those beds and would totally stay again.

On the first night of a two-night stay my son's bed collapsed into the bed frame while he was sleeping. It was very frightening and he could have been hurt. There was a dead roach outside the bedroom door as well. The response from the hotel was disappointing to say the least

My wife and I spent whole week in The Grant and had a great time. The apartment had everything we needed (pots, pans, coffee machine, microwave, washing machine... you name it). We like to eat our vegetables in the morning and to have some small snacks after night out, so we shopped in Kroger (20 minutes walk), not too bad! Due to the location (could not be better), there was some noise coming from the outside (our apartment was right above the street), but the bedroom was inside the apartment and we had no problem sleeping. I bet the apartments across the hall were quieter, but no big deal, really. We usually stay in B&B, and this was great for us. Would go back, definitely.

The inside of the property was really neat, staff was friendly and in a great location.

I gave it 2 stars temporarily until my issue is resolved. There were guests or residents having excessive parties both Friday and Saturday after the bars closed from 230-5am. The floors and walls are thin and we could hear super loud music, stomping, drinking games, balls bouncing on the ground etc for hours on end.

We barely slept the first 2 days of our trip and there isn’t enforcement of other guests. If you aim to rest on your trip, try a different property.

This unit is in a fantastic location. No doubt about that. The security was good and we were always quite safe.
However, we had no WiFi the entire stay. Everyday it was sorry it’s out of our control. But at the same time-I paid for a unit with WiFi.
The bed was HARD. And I enjoy a firm mattress but it was like sleeping on a board. There was construction occurring right next door which I also felt should have been disclosed. It was very noisy-hammers and saws noisy all day every day.
I guess I’m most upset that we were not offered a single thing in compensation. I realize we were in a gorgeous city with much to do. However, my wife has heart issues and can’t always keep up with all the walking. Therefore, it was a big deal for us. Even when I asked for a late check out which they could have easily comped, they instead charged us 60 dollars.
So while it is a perfect location. I would not stay here again.

We just stayed at the Black Swan for 3 nights with our four kids and couldn’t have been happier with our stay! We loved the modern industrial style with the exposed brick. The two separate rooms was wonderful and gave us plenty of space (with our two youngest in the living room on the pull out bed.) In regular hotels we are pretty cramped, but here we could spread out. It was right in the heart of the historic district, which was wonderful for getting out and walking around. The only time we used our car was to drive out to Tybee Island. There were clear instructions on how to access the building and room and we never had any problems. Highly recommend this property!

Beyond happy with our stay at the Grant! LOVE-LOVE the setting and location. Our room was beautifully decorated with a rustic / modern charm that had everything we'd need to stay in and eat. Although with all the delish food / drinks In walking distance, it was hard to do that! A little outside noise but we expected that due to the location, still NOT a problem. All in all , would definitely stay here again!! I'd say a must for your 1st time visiting the Savannah area, guaranteed you'll be back 😘

Spacious! Liked there was a full bath for both rooms. I would definitely stay here again. Very clean and nothing needed. We rented a car which was a waste of money. Everything is walkable. Uber if you have one of those places if you feel it’s too far to walk (still cheaper than renting a car). This place is central to everything.

Great place to stay, convenient to most things to do in Historic Savannah, almost everything we did was within walking distance. The only thing we had trouble with was seating for a night we stayed in, living room area wasn’t set up good for a place that sleeps 6 to 8.

Pros:

Prime Location: The hotel's central location was a major highlight. It was easy to walk to all the key attractions, saving us both time and money on parking. We parked in a public garage for the entire weekend and it was a lifesaver. It allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the city without worrying about parking.
Well-Appointed Rooms: The room was clean and well-equipped with a kitchen, making it ideal for longer stays.
Free Laundry: The free laundry facilities was a great convenience, especially for longer trips.
Safe Neighborhood: We felt safe walking around the downtown area, which added to the overall positive experience.

Cons:

Noisy Environment: While the location was fantastic, the hotel itself could be quite noisy. The thin walls and doors meant that we could hear noise from other guests at all hours of the day and night.
No 24/7 help desk. No one to call or speak to if you have a probelm or need something. I only received a text prior to checking in and the day before we checked out.

DO NOT EVER STAY HERE! Especially not in the next 6 months. They have unbelievable construction occurring directly under the rooms that they rent. They do not warn you, and then deny knowledge of it once questioned. Our peaceful weekend was RUINED.

To make it worse, there is Zero insulation, so not only can you hear every horrifying cut of the saw and slamming of beams all day long( yes even weekends starting at 7:30am), you can also have the pleasure of hearing your neighbors conversations, amongst other things.

The room has electrical boxes hanging out of the wall, broken doors and cracked windows letting in even more noise from the street. Which by the way is a drag strip at night.
All of this may have been ok had the management handle it properly. Or even at all. They denied our request to leave to find an another place to stay and have a refund, for at least one night. Then proceeded to ignore every single call and text we sent. Actually, management never did call us, even though we asked numerous times. We could only reach their “service” who just gave us the runaround.

I sincerely hope this review helps someone else to avoid the nightmare weekend we had. Trust me, it’s NOT WORTH IT.
