I liked the mannerism of the young man who checked me in and out, he was the best part of my stay.

The hotel appears to be nice at first glance; nonetheless, for the cost it was slight above, but efficient for its offering.

I had to clean the bathroom and spray the room down with Lysol. The heating and cooling unit was dirty and fear of allergies I suffer in discomfort from using it. The refrigerator needed to be deiced and dripped onto the floor a great deal. The shower head were never cleaned, some of the plastic areal pieces fell off since they were so hard with calcium and lime.

In my opinion, the room had not had a deep cleaning in years. If it was my hotel I would perform deep cleaning weekly. Spot cleaning really doesn't work for a traveling aid to an array of people's needs. I am an international accountant and try to find reasonable price hotels for working long hours and not really using the facilities. My room was so dirty, I refused to eat the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast is the best part of selecting the hotel and when I do not eat there it speak volume to the facilities.

Check in was great unfortunately I don't remember the lady's name and other staff were polite. The room was a little dated but clean. Elevator was a little shaky but inspection up to date. We felt safe and unbothered. There is a grocery store (food lion) about a block distance away. And honestly the location is kinda great to get us where we wanted to go for the 4 days of our stay. I'd stay again for sure.

First room we were given had people old green wash rags from home still in shower and tissue in toilet room strong smell of weed for non smoking room. Second room 83 degrees, broken shower with hair in walls, stains on toilet and walls. We ran AC low to coo it off went to store and cleaned it up as we had been exhausted by now for our long drive. Maintenance didn’t come the whole time we were there, house keeping came once because we kept asking. Asked to speak with manager and the man at desk kept saying she wasn’t there. Asked for her office ext. refused to give it. Turns out he was part owner and just didn’t want to help. Worst place I have ever been to. Disgusting and unprofessional. One of the front desk ladies was a sweetheart and truly way too good to be there at that horrible place. Making sure our entire vollyball, basketball and baseball clubs know to never stay there for a tournament. Posting on socials as well. They should be ashamed to be open. I emailed the so called manager and no response. It has now been a week.

The cleanliness in the online pictures are a complete opposite of the actual location.
The place was very dirty, from the lobby to the bathroom.
While the hotel cannot help this, it was very loud. One room had loud music and the other had loud conversations.
I stayed for three hours and checked out.
I don't know if this is a you get what you pay for, but the place was just not clean and had an odor.

This is my third day at Iris and I find it easy to get in and out of and I feel safe there. The only thing that I find to be frustrating is that none of the vending machine seem to work or if they do work they always seem to be empty. Staff has always been very friendly and willing to accommodate anyway they can. It’s 13 minutes from the hotel to the historic District of Savannah!

There was a strong seafood odor lingering on our floor our entire stay, which was not pleasant. Outside also had a rough fishy smell to it. The bathroom was a little dirty and the shower tub didn't drain. The front desk was nice upon check-in and check-out, however. Not sure who there at check out, but she was very nice.

Although it is a low budget option, the room was unacceptably dirty and had a lingering smell. The showerhead had hard water buildup along with mold. Bedsheets were not clean the room, and the hallways had a distinct odor.

We asked the front desk for the room service team to thoroughly clean the room, which they did not.

Had an uneasy feel to the room throughout my whole stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

Their logo reads \"Experience Luxury\" and, yes, being treated warmly and respectfully is a luxury these days. That said, there aren't any other luxuries here. The staff and mgt are well-meaning and attentive but there's a lot lacking here. My room was a good size, with a fridge, microwave and Kuerig with lots of coffee pods (thank you!), but the TV remote was missing and no one could find another that worked. The windows have shades instead of blinds, and no curtains. One lamp was missing a bulb. One morning had breakfast available, but not the next. The soda machine was empty. Add sadly, I found a few small but unwelcome four-legged roommates that you didn't want to bring home. (I saw a pest control company van there, so they're working on this. I'll give them credit where it's due.)
With a little more focus on the details (cleaner carpets, paint touch-ups, light bulbs, remotes, etc.) Iris Garden could cultivate a loyal following and far better reviews. I hope they succeed at this, since the staff here is wonderful and deserves recognition.

Our stay here was terrible. Starting with the check in, the lobby was hot and the hotel did not look like it was kept up with. Once we got our keys and arrived at our room we noticed how out dated it was. Not only that but we found several roaches. We complained to the front lobby and were told we could switch rooms. Once we arrived at our new room we noticed it was not cleaned and even had clothing items on the floor and the items in it (cups, bathroom, sheets) were used and out of place. We immediately went back to the front desk and requested a refund. We didn’t stay longer than a day and had to find a new place. The only thing that was okay about this hotel was the front desk ladies as they both were kind and understanding about our situation. Probably because this is something they experience often. I would stay away from this hotel unless you’re okay with sleeping in an old and filthy room.

The location and the price was very convenient but you definitely get what you pay for. If you stay here, I would recommend bringing pepper spray and your own towels. Other than that, the beds are super comfy and overall was not a bad experience if you’re looking to save some money.

Not at all as pictured. The photos included in the advertisement are not at all how the hotel looks. The rooms were very small. The shower didn't drain at all and brought up sediment from whoever showered previously to us. They were also very understaffed from what we saw. They had one (very kind) woman running the front desk but also two other hotels at the same time?? But that being said, the area was very quiet and the staff was very kind and helpful when needed. If you're just exploring Savannah, it's a good place to just go and sleep. Even with all the cons, the staff and the proximity to Savannah make up for it. A good place to stay for a weekend in the city. Only 15-20 minutes away from everything.

We pulled into the parking lot and immediately felt uncomfortable. There were not many cars there but the ones that were there were occupied with construction workers enjoying the end of the day with some liquor. All the stares made us very uncomfortable because we were 4 ladies only no men. We didn’t stay there we ended up booking at a different hotel in the historic district which was very pleasant.

Property was clean. However, our room had a very strong musty odor. You can tell it was clean, but I’m not sure if it’s the supplies they are using or what- my nose was burning. Bed was pretty comfortable. WiFi worked great however only one tv channel worked and every other one was spotty and said “inclement weather”. I knew the breakfast was limited just didn’t think it would be like it was. A waffle maker with no syrup and oatmeal with no hot water. The only other options were mini muffins of white toast with butter and 1 kind of jelly, or cereal. I went with cereal and it was stale.

The female receptionist was very helpful and courteous, but other than that not a lot to impress in my stay. The room was OK, but in need of some serious TLC (coffee machine and light above the bed not working, no plug in bathroom sink, toilet seat loose, whole apartment needed painting). The furnishings in the bedroom were passable. Very limited breakfast choice. I reported the main faults to a man on reception, who said that they would be passed to the maintenance team, but nothing was rectified in my 3 night stay. Not impressed.

When we checked in they gave us a handicapped room despite us not reserving a handicap room. We asked to have a regular room and the black female receptionist said that because we booked through Expedia that Expedia gave us a handicap room.

Next, our towels were very dirty with black stains on them. The breakfast was horrible and tasted as if they we from the previous morning and just reheated for the next day. The walls a very thin and you can hear people beside you in other rooms. Someone had a dog four rooms down and you could hear the dog barking. You could also hear the person above you talking. The bathroom door would not close so that you can lock it. Someone else’s belongings were in the drawers from the previous stay.

Overall, the location is not in the safest place and appears to be in a deserted area in the projects. I would not recommend this property until they are at least able to clean the towels, clean the rooms, serve fresher food to serve for breakfast, and at least fix the bathroom doors.

Positive experience overall!
Check-in was quick and easy. We did encounterd an issue with the room's fridge not working.
The staff deserves praise here – upon informing them, they promptly arranged for a replacement fridge with no fuss.
Their responsiveness and focus on fixing the problem significantly enhanced our stay and left a very good impression.

The property was quiet during my 4 night stay. Staff was friendly and always greeted me when I came back to the hotel.

The property is near a grocery store which was convenient. Unfortunately, my fridge was broken and moldy (would not get cold). So I was limited on purchase options.

Also, I noticed that the elevator permit was expired by more than 1 year and it made a weird sound every time I stepped in.

The property did have a breakfast option (hot meals on weekend) but the juices weren’t kept in a temp safe container. This resulted in the OJ expiring and fermenting. I stuck to making waffles each day since I knew they would be cooked correctly.

The only other complaint was that the Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

Don’t usually comment on my stays, but this hotel is a solid stay for the price. Staff is friendly, yes the property isn’t luxurious or very new, but it’s comfortable and functional. No red flags in terms of hygiene during my stay, and it’s extremely convenient to drive into Savannah proper. Great bang for your buck, with easily accessible essentials within walking distance. Solid 4/5
