Bar and restaurant was closed on the Friday evening. Staff had an abrupt manner. Our bath towels were just folded up the next day and were dam. Cost for stay was reasonable. Once you got your bearings you were able to walk to near by restaurants. Wouldn’t stay again

My only qualms regarding the location are two, and they deal only with the fee structure and the apathy of management.
There is a 50€ deposit that must be paid in cash for potential damage to the room and incurred fees. These “incurred fees” include a 10€ per hour fee for every hour past the 10:00 a.m. checkout for a guests stay. However, Colony Hotel sends a private message to the guest upon reservation and payment via Expedia that states clearly the checkout time is 11:00am.
When I arrived at 1:00am from a days travel, I found myself at the desk reading a policy sheet that states a different check out time, 10€. I also found myself needing to provide a 50€ deposit for deposit, which required me to walk down the street to withdraw cash and incur a 5€ transaction fee from the ATM.
I spent about 20 minutes requesting a check out time of 11:00am without an additional cost of 10€. The attendant informed me it’s not possible, management is aware that they have their own message sent through Expedia that contradicts their current policies. Additionally, I was told the attendant would have to pay the 10€ personally if he was to permit a guest an exception.
In the morning I attempted to speak to the manager about this discrepancy at my check out of 11:00am. The manager was apathetic and unsympathetic to my request. Overall the customer service was poor.
I think it is reasonable given the contradictory information to have granted an exception.

The room was very clean and the staff made check in and check out speedy and stress free. I liked that the reception was 24/7. Only downfall was that the restaurant didnt serve food in the evenings so when we arrived we had to find alternative food places but the staff were helpful in recommending some good food places.

Works for the price

Mixed Experience - Some Room for Improvement
We chose this accommodation based on the photos, but unfortunately, the room we received on the first day did not match our expectations. The cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, was not up to standard, and the air conditioning did not work well.
However, we appreciate that the staff promptly addressed our concerns by moving us to a better room, which was an improvement, though still not quite as expected.
On a positive note, the workers were very friendly and helpful, doing their best to make our stay more comfortable.
One thing to keep in mind is the location-it's quite far from the city center, so traveling there by bus takes at least an hour and a half.

Recommended - good value if quirky.

Let’s get the slight negatives out of the way first. 1) It’s a LONG way from the city and is over an hour on public transport. (2) the decor is slightly tired (3) The televisions can be on a little loud in the downstairs lounges. Other than that - ITS WONDERFUL! We enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly, it was reasonably priced and value for money. I have seen the negative reviews - each to their own I suppose but there was little I saw to justify the criticism in them. So for me I’d definitely RECOMMEND the Colony Hotel given the parameters above.

We wanted somewhere that was accessible to the Stadio Olimpico in the northern part of the city and this hotel didn't disappoint.

We stayed for 2 nights in a twin room. We had an issue when we 1st arrived but it was quickly resolved with the staff who are very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
We arrived quite late but were still able to get drinks.

The rooms could do with a lick of paint but don't let that detract you from the fact the rooms and bathroom are very clean. There's adequate towels provided in the bathroom also.

Only downside we found, there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room.

The breakfast was €10 which I'd definitely recommend. A good choice and variety.

The hotel is easy accessible on the buses into Rome itself. The bus stops are a 5 minute walk which was handy.

It was a pleasant stay.

At check in: Parking was strange (you have to inform them every time you leave so they can lock and unlock a space), and we were charged again for a random city tax we had already paid when booking.
Room: No air conditioning. Ad stated AC but we were told when we complained about how hot the room was, they stated that the AC wasn’t turned on until May 1.
Bathroom: It didn’t have cold water at the sink and the hand held shower had to be “held by hand” (there was no way to hang it up) and the door was completely rotten. At the bottom.
Staff: Only one of the two agents were friendly. Not very welcoming.
Attached restaurant: Coffee bar was good but restaurant did not have anything available that was shown to us on the menu.
Very disappointed.

Inexpensive, easy to get taxi to Vatican, and very helpful receptionist. Hotel is simple, traditional and basic. Be aware: zero sockets or USB charging points in room. Shower is very slim so can only partially get in in and water gets all over floor. Generally quiet area, some noise from scooters going past.

Overall this place is ok for 1 night. It’s far from city centre, the wifi has trouble on the 5th floor. For a traveller from a different country this makes it difficult to look things up or check for important emails. To use the wifi I had to go into the lobby. The room was dirty, ants, dirty carpet, stains all over the walls. There is no air flow inside the room apart from opening the window, but then you get the smell of smoke from cigarette all around. I would not come back. However, the restaurant is great.

If I had been travelling on my own I would probably rate this hotel a 4 or 5 as it had everything I needed for a basic hotel on the edge of Rome. However, I was travelling with my friend who is a full time wheelchair user and this hotel is NOT wheelchair accessible and for her we'd rate it a 1 or 2 at most. The lifts to the upper floors were not wide enough for the wheelchair, nor were the doors into the first 2 rooms we tried. The third room we tried the door way into the bedroom was wide enough, but she could not get into the bathroom. We had requested a wheelchair accessible room when booking and had tried to confirm this with the hotel, but had no reply from them. At first the staff were not very helpful, until my friend had to sit on the floor of the lift and dismantle the wheelchair to get it into the lift. Eventually, they said we could use the service lift which was a bit wider and access the room through the cleaning cupboard. Access to the bathroom though was still not possible with the wheelchair.

We had an okay stay at colony hotel. The rooms that were advertised were nothing like the room we got on arrival. The shower watered the floor more than it actually washed you! The hairdryer wasn’t working, the tv didn’t work and I’m sure one bed had bugs as I woke up the next morning with 5 bites on my body. One member of staff was lovely. He sorted some of the issues out. However when we arrived at the hotel the lady was very unwelcoming and unhelpful. We ended up checking out a night earlier as we couldn’t bare it anymore and wanted a proper shower!! We asked for a new room in which we were told there was none left despite finding some online.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The pictures are NOT reflective of what you get at all in person. The main lobby area and bathroom are the only nice part about this entire hotel. The rooms are super small, our toilet didnt work and they did NOTHING about it. It smelled. The heating was way too over powering and we could not do anything. They only gave towels, that seemed damp. The restaurant downstairs was a joke, the food was served cold and overpriced for the area.

Didn't like the twin beds. Hotel was a little too far away from the restaurants and shops. Next visit we will stay a little closer to activity. Room was very small. No wash clothes. The breakfast every morning was amazing. Staff very friendly. Loved the outside areas except for the smoking.

Horrible. upon arriving to the hotel I had to pay the taxes or the manager would not give me my room key. I gave her all The cash I had at the time 14 euro and charged the other $2 on my card not realizing she charged my card 16. I was double charged $16,my credit card and $10.00 was was stolen from me, I put these items away in my suitcase , searched every where in my luggage but never found my credit card or the $10.00. I was supposed to have a double room,my rm was so small I became sad and depressed every time I was in the rm. All of the hotel information wss in Italian, no english directions to assist with planning actvities.On the forth day I went to another hotel.

Minimalist Experience

Very friendly, attentive staff who speak many languages including English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

The hotel is 30 minutes away from FCO Airport and near public transportation. The accomodations were simple and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Nothing fancy but better than expected. I would definitely stay again, especially since all I needed was a place to sleep.

Too far from the city centre, costs a fortune in taxi`s !! The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfast looked after by Abdul who is a very polite and friendly person who couldnt do enough for us. The room was basic yet the bathroom shower was very dirty and had never been cleaned properly. Extremely noisy being near the stairs. Appreciate it was New Year but a large group had a party upstairs and because the lifts had broken everyone had to use the stairs which was outside our room. People had been sick on the carpets and stairs which was not welcoming first thing in the morning.. Would stop nearer in city centre next time because what we paid for taxi`s we could have spent the money on a better hotel. Really enjoyed Rome !! fantastic place and will definately return. Plenty to do and see. Take plenty of money though !! it costs a fortune to eat and drink out !!!

La stanza ha bisogno di manutenzione così come il bagno, il personale ha solo un interesse ricordare come un mantra che il check-out è alle 10:00 del mattino e cercano anche di venderti il parcheggio notturno a €15 quando a circa 50 m di distanza c'è un parcheggio pubblico gratuito., inoltre la colazione a buffet è veramente un furto Considerando che il servizio è scadente i succhi di frutta e vari altri prodotti vengono da discount e ci sono prodotti, preparati i giorni prima sconsigliatissima la colazione

Alberto particolare, di primo acchitto può lasciare perplesso, ma alla fine si coglie la sua personalità. Si chiama Colony ed è in perfetto stile coloniale. Il personale assolutamente cortese e professionale, La stanza era molto carina e abbiamo avuto la fortuna di avere una camera con balcone... superbo. Uniche pecche, la pressione dell'acqua nel bidet era scarsa, bisognava aprire al massimo per riuscire ad usarlo, il cuscino troppo basso non mi ha permesso di riposare bene (ma questa è una questione totalmente soggettiva). Sarebbe da migliorare un po' la tempistica del servizio del ristorante, la sera per mangiare un antipasto e un primo abbiamo impiegato quasi un'ora e mezzo, mangiando poi di corsa perché avevamo un appuntamento. Ma comunque complessivamente l'esperienza è stata positiva.

Bon accueil mais les chambres sont plutôt vétustes, avec des éléments cassés : cuvette des toilettes, sèche -cheveux...de plus, une mauvaise odeur provenant de la salle de bain a perduré durant tout notre séjour. Seul bon élément : la literie.
Petit déjeuner : beaucoup de paquets de gâteaux industriels et peu de produits frais, les fruits étaient abîmés, ce qui pour un prix de 15€ n'est pas vraiment acceptable.
Le personnel est plutôt gentil sauf lors de notre départ où les deux réceptionnistes étaient très énervées...
Climatisation : impossible de la régler dans notre chambre (cassée comme beaucoup d'autres choses)

O parque é pago, situado em frente ao hotel com um custo diário de 10€.

O hotel não condiz com a propaganda. Não tem água quente no chuveiro e nem na pia. Não tem sabonete líquido, só em barra. Não tem frigobar no quarto. Não tem cafeteira no quarto. Móveis velhos e alguns quebrados. O pior de tudo: pagar um calção de 50 euros que não estava mencionado na reserva.
Pedi para guardar um sanduíche na geladeira do hotel e não deixaram, injusto, pois se o hotel não oferece frigobar, ao menos teria que fornecer um local para guardarmos nossa comida para não estragar.

Nous sommes arrivés le 14/08/2025 à 13h15.
Avons attendu dans le hall l'heure de prise en charge soit 14h00.
Je me suis rendu aux toilettes du RDC les 2 wc étaient sales.

Alors que nous étions en train de remplir les formalités,la responsable s en est prise à ses employés les disputant pendant une vingtaine de minutes et ne préoccupant même pas de nous.
C était gênant pas opportun et irrespectueux vis à vis de nous.
Nous avons par la suite paye 72 euros en espèces de frais de séjour sans reçu alors que nous avions déjà réglé cette somme en ligne et une caution de 50 euros aussi en espèces.
Moralement nous étions abattus dès les premières heures
Les murs et les contours du lit étaient sales .
Autre chose il fallait déposer la clef de la chambre à chaque sortie et récupérer un peu embêtant.
Une réceptionniste se prenommant Katia a été d' une très grande gentillesse et très avenante a notre égard nous la remercions.
L' hôtel est plutôt calme dans un secteur agréable.

Malheureusement le restaurant était fermé, mes quelques restaurants autour de l’hôtel. La literie est très bien et le personnels de l’accueil sont très sympa

Le personnel est à ecoute, très gentille et serviable.
Par contre hotel a besoin de renovation , joint baignoire sale et mur .
Pour moi on est plus sur un 2 etoiles que 3 etoiles.

A differenza delle molte recensioni negative io mi sento di dire che non mi sono trovata male. Il personale è cortese e gentile, la camera discretamente pulita, unica pecca un po’ “vecchia” di arredamenti, ma per il resto nient’altro da dire. Sono stata tre giorni per andare ad un concerto allo stadio olimpico che si raggiunge a piedi comodamente, sono circa 3 km. Anche la fermata dell’autobus per raggiungere la metro e le attrazioni principali dista a circa 500 metri. Colazione molto abbondante. Io lo consiglio

Personale al Check-in poco disponibile e abbastanza antipatico. La stanza non era il top, pulizia e struttura da rivedere. Struttura vecchia che andrebbe rivista ed adeguata. La reception è stata aperta tutta la notte, questo ci ha permesso di lasciare le chiavi lì e ritirarle senza problemi la notte. Posizione non comoda.

\"Hotel\" 3 stelle SI DEFINISCONO. Esperienza pessima. Gestito da una signora credo dell'Europa dell'Est che si fa chiamare \"la responsabile\", con un altra signora credo sempre della stessa nazionalità, e lo specifico solo per far capire chi sono a livello visivo. Che non sanno come si gestisce un Hotel. Nella mattinata di Sabato, dalla mia camera udivo parolacce e urla verso i ragazzi che facevano le pulizie perchè probabilmente non si apriva la porta di una camera...E una delle due RESPONSABILI urlava come una pazza , non preoccupandosi minimamente degli ospiti delle stanze vicine (tipo me). Camere con vernice scrostata, piatti doccia sporchi pareti sporche, grate condizionatori arrugginite , arredamento vecchio e messo male. Materassi concavi. E' stato un incubo. E voglio fermarmi qui, perchè su punti DAVVERO importanti come le disabilità di un cliente , è meglio tacere. Oltretutto anche caro visto quello che NON offre. Due notti 165 euro SENZA colazione. SCONSIGLIATO. In zona c'è di meglio a meno.

Comodo x lo stadio perché teoricamente servito da mezzi di trasporto pubblici che però durante gli eventi non ci sono ed Il sabato e domenica non viaggiano.
