Left a poor review about the check in process and upon check out I got questioned about it on check out. It just is not a Hilton level of customer service… the conditioner bottle was empty, no hand soap, a smoking patio that was locked. It’s a decent place, just not what I expected. Plus the noise from the road was pretty intense (and I live in a loud city)

I booked a stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sighisoara - Cavaler through Expedia. Upon arrival, the receptionist clearly told us that we did not have a reservation and that the hotel was fully booked. Showing her the booking confirmation from Expedia did not change her position.

After some discussion with the receptionist — who was not helpful at all — we were told to contact Expedia ourselves to resolve the issue and find another place to stay for the night. We ended up calling Expedia five times, navigating endless automated menus before finally reaching a real person. In the end, we had to find a new place to stay late at night on our own.

Although I received a refund after four days, I would never book with Expedia again. It cost me a lot of time and energy to fix their mistake.

The staff just don’t seem bothered or professional, the room was dated but happy overall, just very dusty above picture frames etc, the breakfast was terrible? For a hotel like this, no hot buffet present, burnt croissants, hardly any choice? I’ve had two star hotels with better breakfast, the Hilton Hampton in Cluj breakfast was amazing how can two hotels be so different in the same chain, it really was so poor.

The hotel has surprisingly slow internet in the rooms, and the level of room heat seems to be controlled by the front desk. They have the heat at 28 degrees. You have to open a window if you want to cool down and get up in the night to close the window, then repeat the process if necessary. These are fixable technical problems; I hope they get to them soon.

I am shocked and deeply disappointed with my stay at this Hilton. I slipped and fell in the shower because of a serious maintenance issue, and when I reported it, nothing was done for two days. I fell in a Foosh manner hurt my wrist, low-back, and my feet hit the upper bathroom sink. Two days of being ignored after getting hurt in their hotel room! The lack of concern for guest safety and well-being is appalling. I expected care and responsibility, but instead I was treated like my safety didn’t matter. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in Hilton, and I would never recommend this property to anyone.

I would like a refund for this property, please advise on the next step.

The hotel is very clean and conveniently located near the old citadel. I especially appreciated the spa area, which includes a sauna and steam room—both complimentary with your stay.
The room was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s rest. My only minor complaint would be the TV channel selection; it would be nice to have Digi channels available for watching the games.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

We had a great time at the property. The staff from the reception from the cleaning staff were really nice and very hospitable. We also had the welcome cookie which was still warm and delicious. The property is very accessible to the old town area and just a few meters walk from good restaurants.

Booked this hotel because it was a Doubletree by Hilton and had friends also book a room. There were problems with the lights in the room. The drain in the shower did not drain well and flooded the entire bathroom floor. The place was dark and kind of creepy - maybe appropriate if you’re into the Dracula myth. Overall - very tired looking - needed a major renovation several years ago. Our friends room at check-in was totally not clean. They were moved to a cheaper room and our guide had to fight to get them the reduction. There were not a suffix number of towels in the room and the shower only had scalding hot water - such that a shower was not possible. I would avoid this place and Hilton needs to send out its inspection team.

This is the worst hotel I have ever encountered. To begin we checked in without incident....went to the assigned room It had not been prepared fore guests. It was dirty. The bed had not been made and trash cans were on the bed. A vacuum cleaner was left in the middle of the room. I did not have a chance to check out the bathroom. I returned to the reception desk to report the problem. The employee made no comment and gave no apology. He offered a replacement room at a lower price category and only provided a reduction in price when prompted. We went to the newly assigned room. The lights did not work and we had to summon the reception man to fiddle with the system. Also there was one bath towel, not two. An additional towel was provided upon request. In the morning I attempted to take a shower. But the cold water knob did not work and I was scaled by the hot water and had to wash up in the sink. I needen did d to leave the hotel to meet a schedule so did not have time to summon reception again. Upon checkout I reported the latest problem with the room and once again there was no comment and no apology. This was definitely the worst hotel experience of my life.

The hotel is located right beside the busy highway coming into the city. The room was super hot - 26C and the controls to turn the temperature lower were not working. The breakfast was dismal: limited selection, awful coffee and the lights weren’t turned on!

The property requires a thorough renovation. Some parts of the building are renovated, some are from the last century. There were ants in the room. The breakfast was not too bad, however, coffee machines should be serviced; coffee cups had cracks.
It’s not Double Tree Hilton quality property, the hotel is using a name of a brand, delivering mediocre service.

My husband and I travel quite a bit and have been Hilton Honors members for years. Hilton has always been a reliable chain of hotels and we look for it when we book rooms on our work and pleasure vacations. Until recently, we have never felt the need to write a review to complain but I cannot avoid it now.
We just checked out of the DoubleTree by Hilton Sighisonoara, Romania. It was part of a vacation with two other couples, one of which is also a Hilton Honors member. From the moment we entered the lobby I knew it wouldn’t live up to Hilton standards. The receptionist was very unfriendly and not helpful. The lobby smelled of cigarettes. The carpets in the hallways and rooms were stained. The refrigerator is in a cabinet that was difficult to open. There was a tea kettle that wouldn’t stay on to heat the water (the button kept popping). The bathroom light flickered intermittently. The towels were worn out and torn on the edges. There were soap dispensers in the shower for body wash, shampoo and conditioner and they were all empty. They had separate small bottles on the counter. And there was no hair dryer.
As to breakfast, most of the options were empty or low. The salads weren’t fresh. The coffee machine offered espresso or coffee, the latter of which didn’t fit in the cups provided. They had juice cups that were paper cups and could be used for the coffee. There was also a spider crawling on my napkin at breakfast. Nasty!
The woman at checkout was pleasant.

Nice location for the hotel, near the main attractions. Easy to park outside.

The pool area comes with sauna and steam and is really excellent. The spa pool outside looks like it's never been emptied though. I didn't try the gym. Towels were provided and lockers.

The breakfast is in a large room I would compare to the shining. The staff were friendly but the offering looked like it hadnt been changed for months, with most things stale, empty or almost empty. I'd give this breakfast one of the lowest ratings I've experienced and it really let the facility down.

Otherwise the room was excellent, big bed, nice size, lacking a fridge.

The whole hotel is worth a stay, and if they improved breakfast I'd give it a very good score

The location is the best , Sighisoara is an amazing cittadelle!

The hotel itself is already overdue for a capital renovation, the water is pouring from beneath the bathtub , many things not functioning in the bathroom etc.
This hotel has nothing in common with the “by Hilton” trade mark!! I am staying at many hotels around Europe so I can really appreciate, the staff is amazing they try to compensate by kindness the lack of infrastructure of the old hotel.

I was not so impressed. Checkin and most staff were really nice. The restaurant staff was not polite. They piped in obscene rap music in the restaurant. When i asked them to change it or turn it down he was really rude and refused. I dont think they understood the offensive words but didnt csre to please the client either. The hotel claimed a pool and spa. The jacuzzi was not useable because it was dirty. The pool not heated and smelled bad. The saunas were good. The breakfast was descent except you had to pay extra for coffee. Location was good except on a main highway so noisy.

Rooms were 84 degrees and stunk og cigarette smoke. Whenwe complained they told ys to leave the door open the the shared patio. We said that didn't feel safe...the young man at the desk said it is fine (whatever that means)

A rowdy group checked in and were placed on opposing sides of our room. They partird and smoked cigarettes all night (with the door open it was still 76 degrees in the room).

Obviously we didn't get any sleep, we left feeling sick and unsafe.

The free breakfast was nice.

This hotel does not have the Hilton standards. In the room during summer it was 24.5 Celsius degrees and the air conditioner wasn’t working. The room is very small and the added an extra bed so we barely had space to move. The only good thing about the hotel is that is located in the old town close to everything but I wouldn’t come back.

The hotel is very ok, with few very important exceptions about the cleaning: used toiletries in the bathroom, dirty carpet in the room, one speckled towel, the elevator floor was dirty.
Otherwise, hotel is ok. BUT it's a four star hotel, not a budget hotel, and the cleaning aspect is essential.
The restaurant is beautiful, well maintained, very clean, with great stuff and food.

Great location but the facilities are old. AC unit in our room did not function properly and the remedy from the staff was to open a window. After being assertive, our room was changed. Also, the pool needs a lot of TLC. They have a light that is failing apart inside the poo. Electricity and water does not make for a good outcome! Sorry to say, but I can’t recommend this place.

Great hotel, great location. Try and book a room on the backside facing the clock tower - it's nice to sit out on the balcony at night or have coffee in the morning with that view. Comfy beds, clean room, AC, mini fridge, room service, etc. Only stayed the one night here, but in hindsight would have stayed at least two if not three. Parking is free if you've traveled by car. It's safe and clean and there's a breakfast buffet (nothing to rave about, but standard).

The hotel is excelent! It has a big parking space, it is very close to the important attractions of the city.
The staff was very friendly and funny.
We received hot cookies when checking in, which was pretty sweet!
The pool is big, really nice for a swim.
The restaurant has good food.
The room was big, the bed comfy, with modern furniture.
The breakfast was delicious.

Overall, this hotel is the place to stay when in Sighisoara!

Good hotel close to facilities

The hotel is on the main road through Sighisoara and was easy to find. The location is good and it was only a short walk into the old town. The room was excellent well laid out and very spacious with excellent facilities. My only complaint was it was quite noisy. we stayed in an attic room facing the road and the road noise was quite loud which was a little disappointing.

The hotel had superb facilities including a spa, swimming pool and gym which were all excellent. Breakfast was superb and all staff encountered were very helpful.

Overall I would recommend the hotel but would try to get a room that did not face the road or bring some ear plugs if your a light sleeper.

We were a family of 3 that stayed in the hotel, with an 11 year child. The hotel has very good amenities, and the swimming pool was a very nice addition. We stayed 2-nights and would stay again in the future as well as consider Double Tree hotels elsewhere.

We asked to be moved from the front of the building (even numbered rooms) to the rear, as toavoid traffic noise, and the hotel met our request. The rooms are large, and the furnishings and bed of good quality and comfortable. The rear facing rooms have a balcony that looks up towards the citadel.

The breakfast included fresh cooked omelette and sausages, and the staff ask if you want this. The food was of good quality. The staff overall, are very accommodating and service oriented.

First impressions weren't great, as the hotel was hosting a wedding, which meant very loud music and no parking spaces available outside (one of the main reasons we chose the hotel was for the easy access by car!). However, the room was far enough away to be quiet, and we eventually got a space in the garage. We were on the top floor, which had great views of the old town (if you stood on the bed to see out of the skylight!), and a comfortable bed. The air conditioning was a bit unreliable, and breakfast was probably the least impressive of the trip. Still, convenient for a one night stay, and just a few minutes walk to the old town.

Some aspects of our stay were extremely good. Check-in was efficient and the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing. Although it was ample, it had obviously been standing there for some time and hot items were tepid to stone cold.

Pleasantly Surprised

We had two rooms facing the old city with nice views. There were two weddings going on when we arrived, but we were not disturbed by any noise. The hotel is 5 minutes from the entrance to the old city, restaurants and other services, so the location is very good. They have a lovely outdoor terrace restaurant with brick oven pizzas and a nice indoor pool.

Although we ordered 2 triple rooms and verified it in the morning, when we arrived there were no extra bed to put in the rooms. The solution was additional room in a different floor.

Decently clean hotel, small windows though on the citadel view. Nice breakfast. Wished for extractor fan in the showers and maybe offer a couple of bottle watters in the room uppon arrival instead of the cookies.

Awesome Hotel, Great Value and Spacious Rooms

The hotel was great value for the price. Our room was a spacious loft style room, well decorated and comfortable. Pool and amenities were fantastic. Excellent breakfast. Service was great. Hotel is a bit outside the historic center, but an easy 5-minute walk and is closer to commercial area, restaurants and shops. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.
