The Alpen Chalets were very good - clean, lot of space for 3 adults.
Service was great in the Restaurant Senger and the food was delicious. We had breakfast and dinner in Restaurant Senger for nearly 5 days and we liked the food.
Spa with massages is also very good.
In general excellent experience. This was our 3rd visit during Christmas times and we like it here.

This is a really very nice hotel with absolutely superb staff and a wonderful spa. Breakfast is excellent and the view from lake-facing rooms amazing. Why four, rather than five stars? First there is no room service. The reason given for this is that the hotel is spread over a large area and the hotel does not want to deliver sub-standard food. Fine, but if Deliveroo etc can deliver piping hot food across a town I’m sure this hotel could do perfectly decent room service if it wanted to. More seriously, the hotel makes a point of not having air-conditioning because of its environmental impact. I approve of that but it is a pity that people noisily walking between buildings late at night (often until 1am) means it isn’t really possible to sleep with windows open and, as a result, my room got uncomfortably hot. Relatively small grumbles about what is otherwise a first class hotel. I would return, but probably choose a room less likely to be affected by noise if the windows were open.

Breakfast was first class, re food the only tiny point would be to mix up the evening menu a bit more regularly, perhaps with a few daily specials.

This hotel has a lot to go for it. It has stunning views over lake Tegernsee, the rooms with lake view are great, more like a mini suite with the bed facing the window, so you get up looking at the lake in the morning, very clever interior design. Do specifically ask for a room with lake view in the new building. Otherwise you may end up in a remote part of the hotel with very long ways for the Spa. We saw people walking through the whole hotel complex only wearing flip flops and their bathing gown. Beware, this hotel is big, so location within the hotel is something to think about before booking your room.

The Spa is one of the best I have seen so far, indoor and heaed outdoor pool, very clean, four or five different saunas and a stunning panorama sauna with superb views over lake Tegernsee. Try the Senger restaurant once, the Vorgerlsalat is to die for; however the menue's quite reduced and a bit pricy even for such type of hotel. The breakfast is very decent, there is a large buffet with regional food and you can order almost anything from the waiters. But again, EUR 40 pP for breakfast is a bit much and on morning we had to wait 20mins before we were seated. Beware, they currently have a very noisy construction site at the hotel and that is something they did not flag and, even worse, did not even raise during check-in or check-out. They sold us a room basically next to the buidling site with hammering and welding at 8:00am for the full price. That's a no-go.

First off, the location of the hotel is stunning. You will find picturesque views of the alpine vista and instantly get the whole idea of what a “Bavarian experience” could be like.

Staff was mostly friendly and attended to our needs upon request.

Now to the truly disappointing bits. We have stayed in many five star properties throughout the world, but this place was not up to snuff. The disconnect lies in the fact that they charge for a five-star experience, yet they fail to deliver on it.

The breakfast room was frigid two out of three mornings. Doors to the outside had been opened widely with the outside temperature (48 F) matching the interior temperature. Upon our complaint, we were seated near a heater and they temporarily closed the doors. The next morning, we dressed in sweater and jacket, which helped to improve the experience.

Our “Deluxe Double Room” was a 300 sq ft standard European city hotel room with outdated interior. Noteworthy were the ill-fitted and ragged curtains, that mostly covered the window. No upgrades or changes were available as the hotel was sold out.

We had dinner in the onsite restaurant, which had an all-clinical-white interior, including the ornate, historic (painted over) stucco. The white marble floors completed a sense of cold atmosphere. The food was good, but nothing noteworthy for two courses at €102.

All in all, it was not a downright negative experience; just not what we expected for €340/night.

Fantastic staff! Very helpful and attentive. The sauna facilities are lovely and the views spectacular. The room is a bit dated considering the the price ($500 per night). While we had a lovely time, it wasn’t a great value. We have stayed at similar places with equal facilities and views and service for about half that in the area. However I have no complaint or poor comment to make on the experience. It really is a lovely hotel, if too expensive.

Das Tegernsee Is a Ten-To-Me

Like many things in our life, our stay at Das Tegernsee occurred through complete chance. We were sitting in a parking lot outside a Munich Ikea, trying to find a place to spend the night as we drove from Berlin to Ljubljana. “This one looks clean. Let’s give it a shot.”

I’m glad we did. Not only was it clean but it was beautiful. The location was pristine and the accommodations themselves were excellent. The room was perfectly sized for the two of us. The check- in process was quick and easy. Parking was pretty intuitive. There are two garage options or you can just park outside in one of their many spots.

The bathroom was clean and modern. The shower did what showers are supposed to do, which has frequently not been the case in our travels.

The only negative experience was the lack of elevator in our building. By the time I got all 4,322 of our bags up to the room, I was starting to see a white light and hear the faint calls of my ancestors. But don’t worry, I more than made up for all those burnt calories at breakfast the next morning. The options were substantial and delicious.

To the staff at Das Tegernsee (including the wonderful receptionist who didn't mock my terrible German or squeaky shoes) thanks for a delightful stay!

Definitely 5 out of 5 stars in my book.

What a surprise - brilliant!

High point of our holiday. Gorgeous setting and view over the lake with mountain backdrop. Sun all day and sunset dinner. We recommend this hotel to the most discerning traveller. Some construction going on while we were there but this did not disrupt our stay and will soon be finished.

Empfehlenswert aber keine Klimaanlage.

Es war sehr schön, das Personal war freundlich, das Frühstück der Hammer! Besonders der ältere Herr beim Frühstück hat mich beeindruckt, mit welcher Liebe und Hingabe er seinen Job gemacht hat. Das Haus selbst ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sehr gepflegt. Klimaanlage gib es keine, deshalb würden wir im Sommer dort nicht wohnen wollen. Der Wellnessbereich ist sehr schön, modern und sauber!

Ich bin das 2. Mal in diesem Hotel. Das Hotel ist super gelegen, direkt oberhalb der Bahnstation. Das Frühstück ist toll, super Service, saubere, moderne, aber gemütliche Hotelzimmer. Leider gab es keine Aufgüsse im Wellness, da der Saunameister nicht da war. Aber ansonsten war es super schön. Komme gerne wieder.

Traumhafte Lage mit sehr zuvorkommendem Service. Die Wellness-Abteilung mit sehr schönen Ruheräumen, die Saunalandschaft ein wahres Träumchen. Ein kleiner Abzug nur, da der Außenpool sich während unseres Aufenthalts in Wartung befand und nicht genutzt werden konnte. Kommen gerne wieder ☺️

Ein wunderschönes Hotel am Berg mit Blick auf den Tegernsee. Das alte Schlösschen, die Einrichtung der Zimmer (wir waren im Wallberghaus) und die Restaurants sind sehr geschmackvoll. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr bemüht. Das Frühstück ist bestens und auch der Spa-Bereich mit großem Pool, Outdoor Pool mit Massagen, Ruheräumen und vor allem die Panoramasauna haben uns sehr gefallen.

Leider hatte man am späteren Abend ( ab 21 Uhr )auf der Restaurantterrasse kein Gefühl, ein noch willkommener Gast zu sein, wenn man sich nur auf ein Getränk noch hinsetzen wollte.

We had a great stay in the hotel. The spa is wonderful, different saunas, outdoor pool and steam room.
Service was professional and friendly. We had the deluxe room with mountain view, which was nice. My only comment would be to hang up sheers. as these rooms are facing the spa area and spa users have a direct view into the rooms- which obviously isn’t appreciated! Other than that the rooms are nice.

Vor Corona schützt das Personal eine kleine Glasscheibe an der Rezeption. Was vielleicht laut Gesundheitsamt okay ist, aber das Personal dahinter ohne Mundschutz ist schon sagen wir zumindest nicht vorbildlich und mir sagte die Mitarbeiterin bei voller Eingangshalle ich könne den Mundschutz abnehmen. Die Zimmer werden übrigens ohne Mundschutz gereinigt oder einem der unter dem Kinn hängt. Eine kurze Schulung wäre wohl nicht zu viel verlangt.
wenn man beim Frühstück einen 2. Kaffee möchte muss man das direkt sagen, denn das Personal kommt nach dem ersten Kontakt nicht mehr vorbei. Der Orangensaft kommt a.e. aus dem Karton und ist nicht empfehlenswert. Die Auswahl ist für das Hotel beim Frühstück okay aber nicht exorbitant groß. Zum Abendessen muss man reservieren schon lang im Voraus. Das SPA ist toll und der Service gut.
Das es keine Klimaanlage und im Haupthaus keinen Aufzug gibt muss man in Kauf nehmen. Bei dem Checkout sollte man unbedingt nochmal nachfragen und die Rechnung kontrollieren, denn hier wurde einfach etwas in Rechnung gestellt was auch keiner vorher registrieren konnte.

Service und Verpflegung (Frühstück) sind sehr gut. Der Spa-Bereich mit Schwimmbad zum Wohlfühlen.
Im Zimmer gab es einen defekten Duschkopf-Halter, eine aus mehreren Ösen losgelöste Gardine und der Teppich war an einigen Stellen durchgescheuert bis auf das Untergewebe. An der Rezeption wurde mir dazu erklärt, die Zimmer würden alle bis Jahresende renoviert. Merkwürdige Entschuldigung für den Ist-Zustand. Bei einem Zimmerpreis von 330 € darf man was anderes erwarten. War im Juli bereits schon mal da und hatte ein Top-Zimmer (dieses war wahrscheinlich dann schon renoviert). Nicht falsch verstehen - Das Tegernsee ist ein tolles Hotel - aber solch ein Zimmer in diesem Preissegment ist nicht ok.

Enttäuschung! Für den Preis das man zahlt und was man an Zimmer bereitgestellt bekommt geht garnicht!

Das einzig schöne am Hotel ist, ist der Ausblick an den Tegernsee. Das Hotel ist total überbewertet. Der SPA Bereich ist eng und klein.
