Had to go to golf club - which the hotel offered a shuttle but it closes at 10pm so was rushed out mid drink

Steam room closed and facilities completely overran with children and too crowded so was a lot of waiting around in the health club rather than relaxing

However, food was good. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Rooms very nice and clean

Just disappointed by the facilities which could have been bad luck with the timing

As it was my birthday I ordered breakfast in bed as a special treat, I ticked the box for 10.30- 11.00am for my breakfast and it arrived at 9.40am which was disappointing as we paid enough for this service otherwise we had a very pleasent stay.

The hotel is modern with a good play room for kids. The pool and sauna/steam rooms are nice but were not available for older kids in the evening. The restaurant staff were great to deal with but I found the reception staff less accommodating (they offer nothing for my daughters 10th birthday which we were celebrating).

This is a beautiful property with well-maintained grounds, friendly staff and excellent parking. If you’re not used to driving narrow, country Irish roads, getting there can be a bit of a challenge but it’s well-worth the effort. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived but the awesome staff upgraded us to a suite while we spent time in the bar getting a bite to eat. Our drive to the airport the next day was easy. We plan to have a longer stay next time we visit the Emerald Isle!

gorgeous location, really nice service. we only stayed one night and golfed early the morning of checkout, so we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked! beautiful room, comfy beds, the large restaurant was serving a lovely brunch when we checked out. the view out our balcony doors was of the golf course, and it was lush and well manicured. will be back, and stay longer next time!

Stunning hotel with the best service we have ever experienced. I came to the hotel after a hospitalization and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and even ran my cell phone to the airport for us when I forgot it! Simply one of the best hotel experiences we have had (and we have a lot!).

Worth Every Penny ( or cent ! )

Second Visit and the front of house team made us feel like old friends, best service we have ever encountered, and we have travelled a lot.
Room upgrade was a delightful suprise, happened first visit also, this is very, very good.
The whole place is lovely and I would say Druids Glenn has the most welcoming, courteous firndly and professional team we have ever encountered, nothing too much trouble, they are simply very, very nice people, no higher compliment I can think of.

Everything catered for.

Perfect family spa weekend

This is a brilliant hotel for a family spa weekend, as it has all the facilities you'd want and is really child friendly. We stayed with our 16 month old and he loved the pool and children's play room. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds as well as making use of the gym, sauna/steam and plunge pool. If we'd had more time we'd certainly have ventured further to explore the Wicklow countryside. Two members of our group had spa treatments which they were very happy with. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and we loved the little touches like children toiletries and activity pack. The breakfast selection was really good and we also had a delicious lunch and dinner at the hotel as well. The staff at Druids Glen are extremely friendly and helpful and were all so kind towards our toddler, making our experience thoroughly enjoyable.

We had originally booked Hugo's but felt it was expensive for a family so we ate in the bar, service and food excellent. However, & only a tiny thing the veggie pasta on Eve menu had 2tiby piece of veg and remainder pasta which was disappointing however, didn't say anything as everything else was flawless. Would be lovely if chairs had higher back for back support overall though have no complaints. We so look forward to going there again ps would it be possible to put in family rooms a super King and a double instead for more comfort? Thank you

Fantastic stay from beginning to end. We travelled down to the hotel end of March 2019- check in was straight forward, we arrived at 9.30pm with two young children and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful in assisting us with our bags etc. The room was large, spotlessly clean. King and a double bed- perfect for a family of four. Breakfast was delicious, (kids eat for free under 12). We made use of the kids games room/free DVDs/ board games/pool and outdoor play area. Bar food was also delicious in the evening. The hotel feels very luxurious and yet it still feels perfect for young families. Well done!

This hotel was definitely 5 star. Very easy to get to. Just south of Dublin. Very friendly, clean. Top drawer service. I don’t golf but went for a walk through the woods. It was beautiful. The flowers were budding, the water was running, the swans were swimming and so were the ducks. Magical. Definitely a must for someone who wants comfort and to get away from it all. This hotel was the last night stay in Ireland and it was wonderfully relaxing.

Our stay was only one short night, right before flying home, so we did not get to take advantage of the ammenities. The welcome with warm washcloths at the desk was a nice touch.The room was pricey but very comfortable and spacious. I would have liked to take advantage of the trails and restaurant, if we had more time.

A disappointing stay

We have stayed in Druids Glen on several occasions and it has been our 'Go to' destination for a short family break. However, this time (27/12/2017) we were left very disappointed. We arrived at 15:15, so 45 minutes before the guaranteed 16:00 check in time. We were left waiting for over two hours for our room and had to go back reception on 4 separate occasions, on three of those getting what seemed like a rehearsed line of 'the cleaners are in your room right now' from three different people. They did compensate us with a bottle of wine to our room.

The following morning we went for a swim at 09:30 and went for breakfast afterwards. I accept that this would have meant we arrived at peak time (and the hotel was very busy) but we were left queuing for over 30 minutes. Quite simply, this shouldn't happen in a 5 star hotel.

It looks like we may have to find another family friendly hotel, which is really disappointing.

The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was clean and modern.
We booked one night in a suite for a special occasion and dinner. The suite was lovely and was everything we expected. The fine dining however was a nightmare. The staff didn’t have a clue what they were doing. The starter was cold. We waited 2 hours to finally get served our main course only to be served the wrong dish. My husband in the meantime went to the bar next door to get a Guinness as the first pint took at least 30 mins to arrive . The food wasn’t great when it did arrive. It was a bit like Fawlty Towers with an expensive price tag.
It didn’t ruin my night but boy do they need to turn things around!!! Maybe it was just a bad night but when you don’t get out together (alone) very often, it was very disappointing.

A bit disappointed overall

Didn't live up to expectation. Hotel has quite an institutionalised feel to it, with a bland rectangular building, around a dull court-yard with long dreary corridors. Bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom was sizeable with great bath. But room decor also quite dull. Pool was good, but crowded and very noisy (on a Sunday morning) . Not at all what I had hoped for, given the name, the price and other reviews.

The hotel was amazing. But I didn't realise that by booking with hotels.com the breakfast wasn't included. I had a coupon which is why I used hotels.com, but even with that, it would've been cheaper to book with the hotel directly. I'll do that in future

I really enjoyed my first visit to this hotel and would absolutely recommend it.
Staff: charming and interactive
Room: spacious and well appointed with nice extras like bottled water and turn down service
Bathroom: lovely extras included high quality toiletries. One small niggle was the lighting and half shower barrier so I was concerned about water spillage.
Food : I felt the food in the bar was slightly over priced but breakfast ( which cost extra) was great variety and selection overall

Lovely hotel, great staff, beautiful grounds and fab facilities. Meticulously clean. Booked room with 2 queen beds but was actually 2 double beds which didn't really suit our needs. Breakfast fantastic but very let down by evening meal which I did mention to staff. Would definitely go again if a special offer arose.

Luxurious hotel on beautiful grounds

This is a lovely resort near the ocean in Wicklow County. I picked it due to the location - but the golf and spa services look great. The room is very comfortable and quite luxurious. The breakfast is superb. The staff was very professional and quite helpful - there were some nice touches that most hotels in Ireland don't have. there was a kids size robe for my daughter that she was very impressed with. I usually don't bother to take the toiletries but the resort uses L'Occitane and they are quite nice. The bell captain actually wears a top hat. The honey for the brunch actually came straight from a bee hive and was very nice

Last time we stayed we did not find the hotel particularly child-friendly but this time it was wonderful. Staff provided information about all the children activities on check-in. The play-room and swimming pool were great and we enjoyed the movie we borrowed.
