The room was spotless but the heated towel rail in the bathroom was not working and could not be repaired while we were there. Several windows did not fit adequately and so were draughty. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Generally we felt privileged and cared about during our stay.

The location and lobby of this hotel were fantastic. The doorman was so incredibly friendly and helpful (wish I could recall his name). The bars and restaurants were great. However, the room itself was tired. Carpet needed to be replaced, furniture was worn, very few plugs in the room, etc. The bathroom was large but the shower was tiny, and the tile needed a deep cleaning, or replacing. The room was relatively quiet, which was nice. Housecleaning needed to be a little more consistent. Found a candy bar in the chair, someone else’s soap in the shower, and they were inconsistent with leaving caffeinated coffee. Bed was comfortable. Room service food quality after midnight was atrocious (jet lag). The chicken on the Caesar salad was grey, and the lettuce was wilted.

We appreciated his attentiveness and willingness to help us without even having to ask. Yulia checked us in and was also a delight! We were able to check in a bit early and she told us all we needed to know about the hotel. Mohit delivered my room service and he was very kind. He confirmed my meal was gluten free and reassured me everything was safe to eat. We had a number of people also help us throughout our short stay, and they were wonderful too. Overall, amenities and location were perfect but the staff made our stay incredible! Can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

Check in was ok - friendly enough staff but they had booked my friend and i into a double room when i had booked a twin. They offered a king size as an upgrade but we wanted separate beds. So then had to wait while they tried to find a room. Eventually got a twin but it had frosted windows so we couldnt see out.

We had a six night stay at the hotel. Every detail was thoughtfully and carefully curated. The reception and concierge services were always courteous and friendly. Osmany at the front door was always willing to have a quick chat! The breakfast was outstanding as well as the bar next-door, Equus, which produces delicious drinks and food. It was so close to the nearest tube stop and yet the neighborhood was so very quiet and peaceful. The location near the Thames and Whitehall Gardens was lovely as well. We give this our highest rating and approval and should we be able to visit London again would book this right away!

The room’s bathroom was not functional and the water constantly overflowed from the shower. It was horrible. After a day of complaining, they changed our room a the new room didn’t have a functioning heater. I wouldn’t stay there again, expensive but the service do not match the price…. Not even a holiday inn would have been that bad!

From the first greeting at the front door (the likes of Prevez, Osmand and others whose names unfortunately escape me), reception (Gerald, Abeena et al), concierge (Burak, Chico, Szymon and their colleagues) to those in hospitality (including Elisabeth and Asa) and house keeping until our departure the staff enhanced our stay.
I have no doubt we will return to this wonderful place and have sung the praises of The Royal Horseguards hotel, especially those working there that make the hotel special, to family and friends.

The doorman who worked from 7.00am to 4.0pm ( he wore a flat cap to keep his bald head warm and had a salt and pepper coloured beard). He was the first person we saw as we approached the door and his welcome was so friendly. He made us feel so at home before we even entered the building. My room wasn’t ready so i had to wait about 30-35 minutes, not too long of a wait but i really wanted to rest. The room (deluxe double with garden view) was comfortable and although facing Embankment the traffic at night was light so did not interfere with sleep. Very powerful shower. There was no noise from other guests in the corridor. The lobby area was lovely, with a stunning floral display on a large round table. The hotel is steps away from Embankment Underground station.

The booking system was down when we arrived. I had requested rooms 213 or 212 for our 3 nights stay. Also for an early check in (I offered to pay) as we had a meal booked before our trip to the opera and wanted to get changed from our journey. Check in was delayed until 3.20pm so was even later. We were given room 212 then just as we were to collect our luggage the receptionist came running over and took the key cards back. Eventually we were allocate room 112.

I stayed at the Royal Horseguards for 7 nights. I was very impressed and would recommend this hotel. The staff are attentive and prompt. The breakfast buffet is the same everyday, and is of above average quality. The dinner I had at the hotel restaurant was great. I should also record that my 24hour flight landed at 6am in the morning, and although check-in was at 3pm, I queried whether there was the off chance my room would be ready before then. I was very thankful that per chance, it was. Thank you again!

Our room was as described and was kept spotless by housekeeping. There were nice amenitites in the room such as water kettle for tea or coffee as well as a coffee machine. The bed was very comfortable. The best part of the visit was the hotel staff. They were always ready to make you visit as pleasurable as possible. This included receptionists, housekeepers, door men/hosts Pervez and Milion, concierges, and the host in the Green Parlour in the morning, Joe. Those three men added greatly to our enjoyment during our stay. We were there for one week and will definitely stay there the next time we visit London.

Although the room was adequate it was not the quality expected of a premium London hotel. There was no hot water for showers in the morning then we had a 20 minute queue for breakfast which caused us to be 2 minutes late for checking out whereupon we were locked out of our room. The hotel clearly couldn’t cope with the number of guests and when we complained at checkout the manageress simply stated there was nothing she could do and to take it up with Expedia as that’s where we booked. Terrible service with no offer to recompense us for a poor experience.

Only luke warm water in the evening, and only cold water the next day. The bare minimum you want from a hotel is for it to be clean and be able to have a warm shower, so freezing cold showers in the morning wasnt great!

Room was clean and tidy. For a 5star hotel I found it disappointing Staff didnt inform us how to order breakfast or order in the restuarant as we didnt book breakfast as part of the package. Room had all the standard amenities. Tea and coffee kept in a drawer in the room. Disappointed that the mini fridge only had one of each item . For the price of the room and service , we could have stayed at Premier Inn.
