Been here many times in the fall, always staying in the golf view room with balcony. Always enjoy the stay too. Very relaxing. Was disappointed that the balcony rocking chairs were replaced with small cheap uninviting straight chairs. Historically, this had been a big draw to these rooms. Not so much now, as we didn’t spend much time on the balcony.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, right on the golf course. There is a pool and restaurant right there. The staff were extremely responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the driving range and the putting green area is actually like a multi-hole golf course in addition to the regular course. Our room was large and very clean.

Heaven in the Western NC Hills

After staying in an absolute dump for two nights in Tennessee, arriving at the Waynesville Inn and Golf Club was like arriving in Heaven! It was sooooo peaceful, so quiet, so nice... such a relief to be in a CLEAN room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Bar and grill have a limited, but decent, menu and breakfast is offered as well. Great service from Tony the bartender. Not a golfer, but this must be a very popular destination for golfers. The course looks beautiful. And just 30 minutes from Asheville — if one of you is a golfer and the other is not, don’t worry, you will have plenty to do in the area while the other is golfing!

In the morning at 6-7 am it is very noisy. Machines that cut the grass keep you awake in the morning. I couldn’t sleep because of the noise, so I didn’t like it. And I specifically asked to be put in a quiet room because I was coming to a wedding and I needed to get enough sleep before important events.

Nice property. Beautiful golf spot if you are a golfer. There is also a nice pool and grill/patio on the back for a cocktail and beautiful view. Was disappointed I did not get the queen room in the main building which I booked. We were given a double queen in a far off golf view.

We chose Brookside rooms when making our reservation. It was a very clean, basic room in a two story building separate from the main inn. The beds were comfortable and a Keurig coffee maker made our morning start happier. The check in/out staff were professional and helpful for area recommendations. We will stay here again when in the area.

To be fair the property was just modernized. I think we were the first to stay in the room. Very clean and in a safe area. Golf course is beautiful. Tv reception was bad shower in room was not complete shower door was missing. Will probably have all these problems fixed very soon. Staff was very nice.

We enjoyed the property. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only downside was mold around the tub, not a lot but it was there.
We only ate at the restaurant once. Service was extremely slow. We ordered a salad and a burger waited an hour for our food. We had to go looking for our waitress to get her to check on our order.

Large newly renovated comfortable rooms with great views of the course. The hotel will soon be a 5 star resort when golf course and Inn renovations are complete. The hotel is convenient to Main Street Waynesville for dining and shopping. We had a great talk with the welcoming local Golf Pro who also suggested a few local places to visit. We will return next spring.

I chose to stay at this place thinking that it would have the golf & spa atmosphere. The outside was beautiful. The hallway leading to my room was dirty, carpets are dirty and old. The room itself old, out of style & dark. I was very disappointed. All the staff that I interacted with were absolutely courteous, helpful and nice.

Hurry Renovation

The grounds, flowerbeds, etc., looked lovely and well cared tended. I no longer play golf, so can't speak for the condition of the course. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The anticipated refurbishment can't come too soon. Our room was in the main building (perhaps the oldest building on the property) and it was in obvious need of a major renovation. Not worth the nightly rate we paid. Will not rebook here until after renovation is complete. Location, scenery, nearby restaurants, etc., are all wonderful.

We ride our motorcycles through the area every couple of years and stay there every time. We loved the breakfast. This time, no breakfast! Bummer. The inn needs some TLC. Some of the buildings are in pretty bad shape. Our building was in the rear and was in good shape. We ate dinner at the Tap room and it was great! Great place to stay. Bring back breakfast!

We stayed at this resort twice in the past and enjoyed it very much, however, the resort appears now to have not been cared for or updated in any way in the past 12 years that we could see. Wyndham has purchased an interest in the resort and plans to renovate it. It is our thought that Expedia must have been aware of this situation. We would not have chosen to revisit.

The staff here was beyond friendly and helpful. They were genuinely just top notch!

We stayed in a \"historic\" room, which I believe is just code for dated. It was spacious, but felt grimy due to age. There were heavy carpet stains, peeling paint on the walls and the bathroom sink had rust spots from were the coating was missing.

But the worst part by far were the beds. They were barely full size, not Queens. They were harder than concrete and sagged in the middle. You could hear and feel every spring. My husband and I slept separate because one we didn't fit in one together and two we were afraid we'd break it if we did!

Overall, it was a beautiful property with wonderful staff. But pay for the newer rooms. Hopefully those are in better shape.

The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was fine, although the place seems to want a renovation; there were a couple of funny things about the room, like that the headboard wasn't actually attached to either the bed or the wall. Unfortunately, our room was right across from the ice machine, and apparently golfers need to start getting ice at around 6am. We're not golfers, so we wouldn't have anticipated that. The place was fine, all in all, and close to the center of town.

Nice room with vaulted ceiling and pleasing view through large window and doors.
First room didn't have heat because of a broken thermostat. Handyman quickly brought us keys to a different room. But that room didn't have a bathtub (handicap shower) and we wanted a soak from our 70 mile hike. He quickly moved us to a 3rd room and everything was fine. We would have stayed a 2nd day if they hadn't been booked already

While this property may no longer have the most polished fit and finish (and may even be a bit dated relative to what some people may expect at a “resort”) the room was altogether acceptable—clean with a luxurious view.

But what makes this happily memorable is the wonderfully welcoming, thoughtful, friendly and kind way we were greeted at reception upon our arrival.

Didn’t like...lighting too low...difficult to put on makeup, tired decor, old bathroom...thought we were in the new section, told we couldn’t have breakfast after being told the evening before that we could have breakfast...breakfast only for golf groups...really?
