The hotel is very beautiful, well maintained and the staff are very friendly and accommodating! I would especially like to mention the manager Jiri (George), who was exceptionally nice!
There however are some things that I must mention, that should be noted. First of all, there is no air conditioning at this hotel and when it’s a hot day, the room is extremely hot at night! It was very uncomfortable! They did change our room on the second night, because our first room was just above the spa, which made it worse. However, even when moved away from the spa, it was still very hot in the room!
The second thing that I felt was not good, was the charge for parking. There is nothing around i.e. businesses or houses, they have their own parking lot with plenty of parking, so I found it to be rather “cheap” of them! Especially considering how expensive the hotel is!!
I just felt it was in poor taste to charge for it!

A superb hotel

The hotel is amazing. Clean and tidy. very big room and balcony. The view from our room was stunning. Right over the river and the forest up above. The bathroom is very big and well equipped. The hotel staff is very kind. The breakfast was delicious. We also had dinner at the hotel...a gourmet dinner for a very reasonable price. The saunas are great. The Whirlpool is nice but I think the water was not warm enough. I regret not staying there longer than I did. I will definitely go there again

Great place.

Amazing weekend. This hotel is wonderful. Great staff, location has amazing views, the rooms are very nice and clean. The restaurant has very good food, great breakfast. The spa has fabulous treatments pools and sauna's.
The hotel is also a nice choice if you don't want to stay in town. Its just a quick five minute drive..

Quiet and Peaceful Hotel on The River

My partner and I spent 3 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel was very nice and well maintained and the hotel staff was very friendly, especially the day time front desk clerk, I believe her name was Petra. Also, the food in the restaurant was very good both for dinner and breakfast. We really enjoyed our dining experience with Tomas, as he was very friendly, as well as extremely accommodating. The spa was wonderful and the massage therapist as well. We really enjoyed the property and would have given it a 5 rating across the board, the only improvement suggestions would be that our bed/mattress was not comfortable, very hard and seemed to bow in the middle. Also, in the spa, the Jacuzzi tub temperature was very moderate and would have been more enjoyable had the temperature been higher. Otherwise, overall stay was very pleasant.

Outrageously Incompetent Management

My review is not about the hotel as it is excellent (hence our booking two months in advance). The location is very romantic. The hotel condition and facilities are great and the only disadvantage is a tiny gym with not much to do in terms of equipment. The SPA procedures offered are also plenty. That can only be experienced if you are lucky to get there because we nearly missed it despite a long-before booking.
Upon arrival a receptionist greets us (and I quote) with: \"I have bad news for you\". That's not exactly what you want to hear after a long and exhausting road trip. Apparently, there was \"a technical problem\" in our room and \"it was dirty and full of water\". Tbh, it looked more like \"sorry, guys, we didn't manage our bookings for this Saturday properly\". The receptionist assures us that they have booked \"another hotel, which is as good as this one and is only 4 km away\". We were too tired to argue and taking into consideration the news was delivered by a receptionist and not a manager, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. The hotel we were sent to was of a different price category, needless to say, not as good as the one we booked.
The next day they passed on the message that our room in Retro was fixed and they wanted us out by 12. At Retro the check-in time is 2 and our room was not ready. In the end, we get a suite \"as a compensation\". However, I strongly believe you cant treat customers like dirt and then compensate for it with a fancy bathroom.

Great Place to Stay

Stay was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel for anyone. The spa was nice.
Restaurant needs to be more diverse in their food selection and it was slightly more expensive than it should have been. Meals were gourmet. It would have probably been nicer to also have a selection of basic foods for each night.

Great spa hotel outside the city

The Retro Resort is only 3 years old - it is very modern and new. Although it is outside Karlovy Vary, we found that a plus to relax away from the typical tourist locations. The spa facilities (except for massages) are all included in the price - pool, jacuzzis, saunas, etc, as is their wonderful breakfast. They also have a very good Italian restaurant so there is no need to go out for dinner in the evenings. Our waiter, Roman, spoke very good English (along with about 4 other languages!).

Gorgeous Hotel on the Lake.

My wife and I stayed at Wellness Resort on two occasions and we enjoyed both visits. From the time we checked into the hotel and to the time we departed, we had a lovely experience. The staff was amazing and very professional. The amenities the hotel offer such as Spa & Sauna treatment is top of the line. The buffet breakfast that is offered at the hotel is plentiful & it has a variety of assortments. Overall, this is a first rate hotel and we would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to get some relaxation in a quiet area.

One of the best place to stay with your family

I was at Riverside hotel with my family.

My kids loved it.
There is a small swimming pool on the ground floor, and there is also a warm spa connected to the swimming pool.

I also enjoyed the service there.
Also I recommend the massage there. There is a Thai massage therapist, she is really good. My wife also thought she was really good.

I will definitely go back there with my family.

Only thing I didn't like was the restaurant there. The menu is very limited. I really hope that they have more option.
Also I thought the food was generally all quiet sweet.

Beautiful, but far from town

This is a very nice hotel and my wife and I stayed here on a trip back to Germany from Poland. We would have liked to have stayed two or three nights. This hotel offers great spa facilities. It is new and very nicely appointed. The only negative thing about the hotel is that it is far from Karlovy Vary.

Great hotel and very helpful staff

We were greeted at the front desk by an English speaking person and a glass of sparkling
wine. The whole experience was great. Our room(s) were large and appointed great. Large bathroom and a large balcony overlooking a lake and dam. Everything was clean, neat and tidy.
Had a slight problem with pillows, but that was corrected immediately. We ate at dinner at the
restaurant twice. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and pleasant. The
included breakfast was great. Our only problem was that we should have planned more nights
at this facility. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Almost an excellent hotel

After sorting an issue with check in - they said we haven't paid but we had confirmation from Expedia that hotel was paid. Hotel was very good. Clean decent families and helpful staff. Road noise was an issue. Spa excellent gut gym was poor - very very small. Breakfast was fantastic but would benefit from a snack menu too.

Loved it!

I stayed here a night with a friend. We were traveling from Prague by train (fyi-- the hotel receptionist said that the bus takes considerably less time). The hotel is really pleasant and the spa treatments are good and affordable (we both got a hot stone massage).

The restaurant is particularly good. It is Italian cuisine, and considering I have traveled many times to Italy, I would rate the food as exquisite. The breakfast also gives you a choice of eggs which I was throughly impressed by; we ordered the soft boiled eggs with truffle oil.

The hotel staff speaks English fluently and are all friendly.

There are two downsides-- the hot tub was set to only 38 degrees so it was more of a \"warm\" tub, and the hotel is out of the city centre so you have to take the shuttle which is only offered a few times a day.

Wonderful hotel. Maitre'd Vladimir was very professional and breakfast and dinner entrees very tasty. We would have liked the spa to be hotter but we enjoyed the many saunas and pool. Beautiful and serene decor. Our stay was relaxing until a couple with a young child moved into the room next to us. The child ran amok through the hall and within the room, doors and cabinets slamming over and over and he kept screaming to the parents so loud that I knocked on their door and asked that they try to keep it down. We asked to be moved the next morning and our next room was once again quiet and peaceful. The hotel clerk was aware of the loud child and with such a relaxing spa environment we didn't appreciate having the family placed next to our room. That aside, we loved the hotel itself, amenities and staff were very nice. The location is a bit outside of Karlovy Vary and only suitable for those with their own car.

Excellent Hotel & Spa - and very nice staff. Good value for money - we would rate this 5 Stars but for a major major negative. This 'Wellness' hotel PERMITS SMOKING in the pleasant bar!! Thus promoting 'Sickness' rather than wellness. Very strange & can only be at the demand of their (possibly Russian) customers.

Brilliant place, adore berries on breakfast and menu choice, but in evening ordered octopus and was too salty and crispy for me, advise to have a dinner at La Marshe. Spa is good, thai massage was awesome! Would definitely stay there again!

Relaxing Hotel

We had a wonderful relaxing hotel stay. The Hotel was built in 2013 so it is very new and quite posh. The room was large and the bathroom beautiful. Each room has a deck with chairs that looks over the River. The spa was very nice and the staff was extremely accommodating. However the hotel is not walking distance from downtown Carlsbad so if you would like to walk from the thermal springs and shops, you will need to drive up the hill and park.

Great hotel, no A/C in the guest rooms.

This hotel is approximatdly one year old. The staff were eager to help and assist in any way possible. Free parking was easy, breakfast was excellent and the rooms and bedding were very comfortable. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. I thought the room thermostat was broken and the person at the front desk told me that many guests are surprised to learn this.

Beautiful location, romantic in quite country side

We were the first people to book this new hotel (opened March 2013) through Expedia. It is a great location overlooking a river, just 10 mins by car from Karlovy Vary. The guests are mainly Czech and a good mix of couples and young families. While the rooms are modern (gorgeous first class bathrooms by international standards, comfortable beds, modern/comfortable patio furniture), the hotel maintains a small, intimate feel. The hotel staff are all pleasant, warm, welcoming, and most importantly responsive. We had a couple of queries which were addressed to our satisfaction immediately.

The seating by the river is lovely in the evening, but can be a bit buggy. The breakfast is nice; they have an omelette/egg station, fresh fruit, cured meats, several juices, teas, cappuccinos etc.

We would definitely return and recommend to others.

Hotel liegt schön am Stausee. Leider nach Norden ausgerichtet, dadurch wenig Sonne.

Die Mitarbeiter sind größtenteils 3-sprachig unterwegs. (Tschechisch, englisch, deutsch), ich vermute sogar 4-sprachig (russisch), sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Alles war blitzblank sauber. Die Ausstattung ist wirklich ausserordentlich aufwendig und sehr schick. Da gibt es mal nix! Das Frühstück und Abendessen ist frei kombinierbar und auch durch weg super lecker und sein Geld absolut wert! Der Wellnessbereich ist der Hotelgröße angepasst und zu empfehlen. Abzüge gibt es für die wirklich \"sauunbequemen\" Ruheliegen. Auch die Handtücher und Bademändel sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Manko: In der 3. Etage funktionierte das Wlan gar nicht mehr. Angeblich ein neues Problem, welches auch nicht behoben werden konnte. Das ist bei 5* doch ärgerlich, vor allem, wenn man beruflich darauf angewiesen ist. Tätigkeit konnte/musste dann in der Lounge verrichtet werden.

Nichts desto trotz, würde wir jederzeit gerne wieder in dieses wirklich schöne, kleine und hervorragend gelegene Hotel buchen! :)

Immer wieder gerne

ein super Wochenende. Das Bett war groß und sehr gute Matrazen, das Badezimmer und die Dusche schön groß und alles sauber. Das Essen sehr gut, gehobene Küche. Das Frühstück ebenso, Auswahl reichlich und noch auf Bestellung verschiedene Eiergerichte, frisch zubereitet. Immer wieder gerne werden wir hier ein Wochenende verbringen.

Schönes Hotel, mit reduzierter Kundenorientierung

Ich habe das Hotel nun zum dritten Mal besucht, über einen Zeitraum von ca. 5 Jahren. Die ersten Male war ich hoch zufrieden. Immer sauber, toller Service, gutes Essen.
Bei meinem letzten Aufenthalt, war ich leider nicht mehr zufrieden.
Wir sind erst spät angereist. Auf dem Weg zum Hotel, haben wir im Internet recherchiert, wie lange die Küche noch geöffnet hat. Es sollte laut Internet bis 22.00 Uhr sein. Als wir um 21.30 Uhr eingecheckt hatten, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das Restaurant nicht mehr geöffnet hat. Uns wurde empfohlen in die Stadt zu fahren. (im Internet stand etwas anderes)
Dann nach oben ins Zimmer, Koffer wegbringen, Schlüsselkarte funktionierte nicht.
Wieder runter, keiner an der Rezeption. Im Restaurant einen sehr freundlichen Mitarbeiter gefunden, der eine neue Karte ausstellte und auch gleich mal mit zum Zimmer kam, um diese zu prüfen. Nebenbei erwähnte er, dass wenn wir noch etwas essen möchten, wir recht schnell bestellen sollten - aha, also doch bis 22.00 Uhr geöffnet - (was läuft da falsch?)
Das Zimmer war sehr warm. Es gab ein Klimagerät, welches allerdings vor Checkin nicht in Betrieb genommen wurde. - schade - Am nächsten Tag noch eine private Feier auf der schönen Terrasse des Hotels. Leider keinen Zutritt, da geschlossene Gesellschaft. auch sehr ärgerlich. Dann einen Drink in der Lobbybar und lieber wieder auf den Balkon auf dem Zimmer. Der war dann auch ok.

Supertolles Hotel, Zimmer waren perfekt, groß, überwiegend mit Parkett, tolle Beleuchtung. Sehr schönes Bad mit begehbarer Dusche. Wellnessbereich klein, aber für die Menge an Zimmern ausreichend.
Restaurant sehr gut, beim Frühstück riesige Portionen, Abends überschaubar, aber geschmacklich Spitze. Sehr nettes Personal, wir kommen gerne wieder.

5 Sterne Zimmer jedoch mit Schattenseiten im Hotel

Sehr schön gestylte Zimmer in wahrer 5 Sterne Qualität mit wunderbaren Lichtdesign, Badzimmer mit Doppelwaschtisch und mit großer Dusche.
Beim zum Weg in den Wellnessbereich muß man direkt bei der Rezeption vorbei, nicht wirkllich optimal gelöst. Bei Vollauslastung des Hotels, ist es sicher zu eng in Sauna & Dampfbad, sowie problematisch eine Liege beim Pool zu bekommen.
Die Flaschen-Weinpreise im Restaurant / Lobby eindeutig zu hoch. Diese Preisgestaltung sollte überdacht werden, damit auch wirklich Hotelgäste am Abend in Lobby und Restaurant Platz nehmen.
Für einen Kurzbesuch als Paar ist dieses Hotel aber eindeutig weiter zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten zwei traumhaft schöne Tage im Retro Riverside Hotel. Schon beim Betreten des Hotels ist uns der angenehm frische Duft aufgefallen, der sich auch im Hotelzimmer wiederfand. Wir wurden mit zwei Gläsern Champagner begrüßt (welcher äußerst lecker schmeckte!). Das Einchecken verlief unkompliziert und einfach, da wir vom Hotel schon per Mail die Möglichkeit erhielten online einzuchecken. Unser Superior Doppelzimmer war in einem tadellosen Zustand und sehr sauber. Vom Balkon hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf den See und den angrenzenden Wald. Im Bad erwartet einen eine ebenerdige Dusche mit separatem WC und Bidet.
Das Frühstück ist im Preis inklusive und es gibt ein kleines Buffet mit Aufschnitt (Wurst + Käse), verschiedenen Brotsorten sowie versch.Marmelade, Joghurt, Obst (Weintrauben, Pflaumen, Birne, Orangen, Blutorange) & Gemüse (Paprika, Gurke, Tomate). Des Weiteren gibt es die Möglichkeit sich Müsli zuzubereiten. Frisch zubereiten lassen kann man sich verschiedene Arten von Ei, von Spiegel-über Rührei mit Mozarella und getrockneten Tomaten bis zum klassischen Frühstücksei ist hier alles dabei und es schmeckte köstlich.
Auch der griechische Joghurt mit Honig und Waldbeeren ist sehr zu empfehlen! Kaffee, Tee und ein Glas Sekt sind ebenfalls inklusive.
Der Wellnessbereich ist ebenfalls tadellos und auch hier gibt es die Möglichkeit, sich mit Wasser und Tee zu versorgen.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden & empfehlen das Hotel zu 100% weiter!

Es war ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt in einem wunderschön gelegenem Hotel. Das Frühstück war großartig genau so wie der Wellnessbereich!
Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen.

Sehr, sehr schönes hotel in traumhafter Lage im Wald. Sehr schöne, geräumige Zimmer mit tollem Blick auf den Wald und den Fluss. Alles sauber. Einziger Minuspunkt war das Bett, bei dem man die Federn spüren konnte. Jedoch war sonst alles perfekt, sodass wir auf jeden fall wieder kommen möchten!

Auf keinen Fall 5 Sterne Standart eher 3+, wir mussten erst mal Haare aus der Bettwäsche entfernen, der Zimmerboden war mit tiefen Kratzern übersät.
Föhn war Defekt kein Ersatz, das Reinigungspersonal unfreundlich die übrigen Mitarbeiter aber freundlich. Der Wellnässbereich war sauber und gepflegt, aber es fehlte an Liegen 4 Liegen für alle Gäste? Das Frühstück war in Ordnung die Kellner sehr aufmerksam auch das übrige Essen kann man Empfehlen. Auf der Endabrechnung wurde allerdings 1 Artikel zuviel berechnet, leider erst zu Hause bemerkt.

Room was nice, clean and very nice view.

Staff was just about polite, rarely friendly - you should be able to expect much more in a supposed 5 star hotel!

Cannot recommend the food at all. Restaurant prices are exaggerated, more so since the food is absolutely nothing special.
If you want to just relax all day in the spa and at some point get hungry and would like to eat something in the hotel (before the restaurant opens) there's just a very small choice of sandwiches (cheese, ham, white bread), nothing else. Of course also very expensive. I would strongly suggest to not eat at the hotel, so be aware that the nearest restaurant is at least a 10 mins car ride away.

Worst experience: Rooms are centrally heated, you cannot regulate the heating yourself, which means 25°C night and day (in November). Since we had problems sleeping like this, we asked at the reception. Answer: \"Well, you can just open the window at night.\" The result: 3 days of spa holiday, then one week in bed with a cold..

Cannot recommend this place.

Mooi hotel, prachtige plek in het bos aan het meer. Eten was erg goed, prima faciliteiten van zwembad en sauna's tot wellness met massage's.
Kamers zijn schoon en zien er royaal uit. Helemaal niets op aan te merken. Hotel is zijn sterren waard.

Super tolles Hotel

Es ist ein super Hotel mit einer sehr gehobenen Ausstattung. Das Personal war immer nett und zuvorkommend. Auch ein toller Ausblick auf den Stausee. Nur kann man leider zu Fuß das Hotel nicht verlassen - da es nur eine Fernverkehrsstraße ohne Fußweg gibt.... Ist aber auch schnell mit dem Auto in Karlsbad

V hoteli sme strávili jednu noc. Cítili sme sa veľmi prijemne, izba a kúpeľňa priestranná a čistá. Bezproblémové parkovanie, príjemný wellness a vynikajúce raňajky. Personál na recepcii ako aj v reštaurácií - skvelé a ústretové správanie.

Prijemny wellness hotel nedaloko Karlovych Varu

Pobyt v hotel hodnotim velmi pozitivne. Pokoj i wellness byl ve velmi dobrem stavu. Pouze lobby bar bohuzel zaviral pomerne brzy a nemohli jsme po navratu z mesta vyuzit jeho sluzby. Hotel mohu vrele doporucit.

Sauna sehr klein, mann kann sich nicht mal hinlegen. Wasser vom Schwimmbad zu kalt. Hotel zu weit vom Zentrum.
Sonntag früh um 08:00 Uhr falscher Feueralarm ohne Entschuldigung und irgend ein Entgegenkommen. Sonst war alles sehr schö.

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes, an einem Fluss außerhalb von Karlsbad gelegenes Wellness-Hotel. Ca 15 Minuten bis Karlsbad Zentrum. Sehr schöne Spa-Landschaft mit Saunen, Whirlpool und hervorragendem Masseur. Hervorragendes Restaurant, das täglich verschiedene Sorten frischen Fisch und Fleisch vom Grill anbietet. Geräumige Zimmer mit Balkon und Ausblick auf den Fluss.

Besseres 3* Hotel aber weit entfernt von 5 Sternen

Für ein Wochenende war es ok, aber wer schon einmal in einem echten 5 Sterne Hotel genächtigt hat, kennt den Unterschied.

Das Frühstück war sehr überschaubar. Ein Tisch mit kleiner Auswahl. Die Atmosphäre beim Frühstück ist sehr unangenehm. Der an sich große Raum wird geteilt um offensichtlich nicht so viele Tische reinigen zu müssen. Dadurch sitzen die Gäste Rücken an Rücken- 0 Privatsphäre. Wer zu spät kommt wird an einen kleinen 2 Mann Beistelltisch gesetzt. Hier ist man permanent damit beschäftigt, dass die Teller an den Seiten nicht herunter fallen.

Das Hotelzimmer war sehr geräumig und bot gehobenen Komfort. Für über 150€/ Nacht war es angemessen.

Der Wellnesbereich ist überschaubar- und hebt das Hotel von anderen 3 Sterne Hotels ab. Ein \"Wellnesresort\" kann man es aber nicht nennen.

Bei der Umgebung wird ebenfalls beim Internetauftritt übertrieben. Der sogenannte See ist ein kleiner Flußausläufer umgeben von einer stark befahrenen Hauptstraße.

Amazing trip

Highly recommend this hotel as very fantastic accommodation and great view in the lake, super quiet here with five style sauna and it’s good and relaxing, but the location is not very convenient expect you have a car. I want to give 5 star as the problem is the reception is not super nice but acceptable.

Wir hatten ein traumhaftes Wochenende in der Nähe von Karlsbad. Der Service war exzellent; so wohl am Empfang, vor allem aber auch im Restaurant. Das Restaurant bietet eine sehr gute Küche; alles sehr frisch.

Sehr gutes Spa-Hotel!\n

Wir haben ein Hotel zum Entspannen gesucht und gefunden. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer und das Bad sehr geräumig und sauber. Die Spa-Räume waren vielfältig und sehr angenehm gestaltet, die Massagen hervorragend. Allemal ein schöner Aufenthalt.
Zu bemängeln ist eigentlich nur die sogenannte \"Italienische Küche\", die sehr langweilig, sehr übersichtlich, aber für das Gebotene zu teuer war. Das fanden nicht nur wir, und wir kennen die italienische Küche sehr gut und lieben sie.
Also, dies soll anregen, es besser zu machen, damit auch dieser Punkt demnächst gut zu bewerten ist.

לא ממליץ על המלון, פשוט לא מצדיק את המחיר!

נסענו לטיול של שלושה לילות בקרלו ויווארי, חיפשנו מלון יוקרתי בטבע, התמונות היו מהממות אבל לצערנו המלון לא ממש מצדיק מלון 5 כוכבים, והמסעדה של המלון ממש לא ברמה, כך גם ארוחות הבוקר, לעולם לא אחזור למלון הזה!
ולא ממליץ, אין הצדקה למחיר ומה שמקבלים בסוף.

Tolles Hotel

Wir hatten eine große Suite, mit toller aussicht auf den Fluss bzw. Stausee.
Die Straße vor den Hotel bekommt man kaum mit.
Das Personal war sehr Freundlich.
Nur ein Negativpunkt: Das Bett!!!(Matratzen sollten unbedingt ausgetauscht werden).
Frühstück war unserer meinung ausreichend und hat auch geschmeckt.

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans cet établissement: le personnel très aimable et discret; une très belle vue; un grand balcon; une chambre très spacieuse et bien aménagée; une VRAIE espace spa; un bon restaurant et délicieux petit déjeuner. Notre prochain séjour à Karlovy Vary ce sera forcément dans cet hôtel.
