The room was dated and needed maintened. For example the curtains were way too short for the window, the glass window in the bathroom had a hole in it and looked dangerous the bathroom also had mouldy grout. The coffee cups were stained. The breakfast was terrible tried it twice and wouldn't recommend it. On the up side the location was great and the staff where very friendly.

Mercure Sanur is a bit older compared to other hotels in the area, but it’s clean, affordable, and has a lovely private beach, which is a big plus.

We booked the Christmas buffet (6–9 pm) and arrived around 7 pm. By 8:30 pm, staff repeatedly asked if we wanted more food or drinks, and some tables were already being cleaned. By 8:40 pm, the buffet was being packed away, which felt unacceptable as it was meant to run until 9 pm.

Service was inconsistent throughout our stay. Some staff were great, but others—especially at the bar—were inattentive. Light lunch orders often took 50–60 minutes, and on more than one occasion drinks were forgotten entirely, even when we were sitting right in front of the bar. Staff were apologetic, but we often had to repeat ourselves.

On a positive note, the front desk staff were excellent—friendly, efficient, and helpful.

We enjoyed our 7 night stay. The room was plain & clean, I had the best sleep there. The breakfast was nice; with a variety to choose from. Staff were helpful and accommodating. The pool was nice and clean. Right opposite the beach with plenty of beach chairs. Close to a shop, laundry & massage. Favourite restaurants near by: Bella Italia- lovely food. The massages at the hotel were lovely, especially the foot reflexology. The beach massages were also great. I’d happily stay there again.

The room was basic. Soulless. No art on the walls or colour. The cloth at foot of bed had stains so I took it off. The bed itself was comfortable. The room was spacious and had a large balcony. I never a hot shower in the 6 days I was there. Tepid at best. The bathroom counter was covered in ants every day. I get that it’s a tropical climate but I’ve been travelling in Bali for 5 weeks without this problem. I rented a bicycle and the steering was crooked and the lock didn’t work so I couldn’t park it and go swimming or shopping. I tried the restaurant once but the quinoa salad was the worst I have been served anywhere. Ever. So I never ate there again. At least they didn’t charge me when I refused to eat it. The hotel is nicely located on the beach and walking trail. The fee for their laundry service is outrageous “only 350”. I’ve had my laundry done a couple times here- 20/kg - everything I owned done for 100. I don’t advise prepaying for food and drinks (1,500,000 r on credit card) until you try the food and drinks. Checking out they said it would take 2-3 weeks to reverse the charges. Personally I would not stay here again.

I had a room right at the back of the property which was disappointing considering I booked an Executive room. If you aren’t good with insects then request a room off the ground as mine had millipedes on the floor constantly. I left my charger in the room stupidly but more disappointing was that when I contacted them the say day they said that housekeeping didn’t find it, which seems impossible. The quests using the tennis court were also loud early morning so that’s another consideration. All the staff were friendly but overall the service at the bar there is super slow and inattentive, although in fairness we found that in much of Sanur.

Excellent resort to stay near the beach. Morning buffet was great with open air views of the beach. WiFi and tables available under trees on the beach. 24hr kitchen for room service - which is great for jet lagged arrivals. No Bali belly, so the food was safely prepared - including a wide variety of fresh cut fruit.

In the room, I saw a few bugs (centipede, roach variety); nevertheless everything was very clean. it’s a tropical island with favorable conditions for them to survive; and having lived in hot and humid environments, I assume it’s likely an ongoing battle no matter how clean a place may be. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of greenery and trees along the paths from the lobby, villa rooms, pools, restaurant and beach. The beach has a paved walkway that allows easy access for people, child strollers/ prams, and bicycles to find various restaurants, resorts and shopping. The Genius cafe is on the beach next to the Mercure. I would easily stay here again.

Unfortunately we had to cancel our stay after one night because we were too uncomfortable. It gets 2 stars, one for location as it is right on the beach, and one for the staff as they did help us. As for the rooms...its like sleeping on a trampoline! Dark, dungy, our balcony door would not close allowing mosquitos in, our bedsheets/pillows stained. Shower pressure almost didnt exist...the place needs an update! We could hear the neighbours next door coughing the walls were that thin. Breakfast definitely just average. My favourite being the fresh squeezed juices as that is hard to go wrong.
Oh, and the Wifi works property wide, however doesnt work well, will cut in and out quite often, including in the rooms!

Great location away from the more popular tourist areas, not crowded, quiet, beach not packed allowing for more space. Seemed to be more family friendly and more of a mature crowd. Great walkway along the length of the coast ideal for walks and bike rides. Large modern and impressive shopping centre. All cafes and restaurants visited had great service, quality meals and extremely reasonable prices. The MECURE resort was clean, staff helpful and friendly, older than some of the other resorts but also cheaper. I would most definitely stay there again. Highly recommended

We did arrive early as our flight was changed. Thankful that we could leave our bags and come back at check in time. Unfortunately room wasn't ready, should be 10-15 mins. Checked back 15mins later and told another 15... Again wasn't ready so went to a local Warung to get a drink as it was oppressively hot,mid 30and extremely humid,we came from Perth and was raining and 10 degrees. Arrived back at 3:30 and still had to wait another few minutes....they had to ring and check.
Apart from the check in and no TV for a cpl days,which I only found out was fixed by accident,overall everything else was pretty good. The surrounding gardens are very green and well maintained and pleasant to walk through. Pool is large and a great temperature,not cold like most others. The breakfast selection was a highlight with so many options to choose,pancakes/waffle section and egg bar became a favourite, even got a free neck massage one day.
I highly commend all the staff here,always greeting me no matter what time of day and always with a huge happy smile and I do meen every single person from the security & front desk & cleaners & gardens & maintenance & restaurant bar and pool staff , thankyou you make staying there a highlight...

Beautiful hotel in amazing garden setting. Room was quite roomy, although a bit outdated it was very comfy, clean & had great air conditioning. The area was quiet, a great place for peace & relaxation. The beach front was fantastic and the 6 km bike / walking path along the beach leading all the way to the new Icon shopping centre was amazing, with lots of places to eat & drink and little shops along the way. The buffet breakfast catered to all tastes & was substantial. I would definitely stay here again.

Let me start by saying the staff at this resort were so so lovely, the grounds were also beautiful. Great pools, pushbike hire, buffet breakfast had a lot of options, cocktails were delicious! Nice seating on the beach and quite easy to walk or take a scooter around. I also had a spa treatment which was amazing.
This review is more for management. The room was run down, as in floor was chipped and stained, shower was only lukewarm, bedding/pillows felt a bit grotty. It would be worthwhile spending some money to bring the rooms up to scratch so that they match the rest of this lovely property.

This property is run down and shabby. There is mould on the buildings and has a general overuse tiredness about it. My tv didn’t work for the whole stay and mosquitoes were able to get in each night. It was not close to anything other than the hotel cafe and its special seafood buffet was over cooked fish and some side dishes. Overall very disappointing

Overall we were satisfied with our stay at the Mecure for the price we paid. The property itself while beautiful is tired and at the point of badly needing a makeover. Our biggest dislike was the breakfast, walking to 3 seperate locations to get your food and drinks but no proper bacon? Porters not turning up to collect our bags when we left after we asked earlier. The little things which should be automatic we often had to chase the staff up for. Stand out staff member was Reno. We dont know where the Mecure would be without him.

I booked our stay here because of its great location on the beach and its good price. I was worried after reading a couple of negative reviews but i was so pleasantly surprised! Im really fussy about where i stay, normally staying at Tandjung Sari or the Hyatt, but i would definitely stay at the Mercure again. We were upgraded to an Executive room close to the pool and restaurant, buffet breakfast was good and plentiful, pools are lovely and the staff really friendly and helpful.

You get what you pay for

We hadn’t been to Sanur in over a decade and debated to go with an expensive hotel or look for value for our short 4 night stay before relocating to Legian. We ended up taking the value option and ultimately discovered you get what you pay for. The hotel is very dated and run down. Our room, albeit very clean and comfortable was literally falling apart. The side tables and benches all move when any pressure is placed on them and the 2nd floor balcony railing was loose at one end and ready to completely break. Our electronic door key failed on at least 4 occasions so we couldn’t access room resulting in staff having to bring a laptop and re-program the door. The hire bikes are old, have broken pedals and rusty chains. Breakfast is very basic, lacks flavour and the coffee (when machines aren’t malfunctioning) is disgusting. Having said all that, the location was great, pool always clean and staff were always polite, courteous and expedient in addressing any concerns or bringing amenities to room.

Set in beautiful gardens with 2 pools. We stayed in various room types over our 10 day stay due to visiting other areas in between. The delux was definitely our favourite.
The rooms were all clean but some are a bit on the tired side.
The location is great and is within walking distance to restaurants both along the beach front and street.
The seafood bbq on the beach at the hotel offered a good selection tasty dishes.

Although an older establishment the Mercure was clean and well maintained. Beautiful grounds surround the accomodation. The Mercure is at the beach and central to the footpath that allows you to walk for ages. Friendly staff, clean pools and great food all add to the experience.

The beach was lovely but unfortunately there was a lot of rubbish at the beginning of the sea so we didn't go in. This hotel has the potential to be great but it very much needs to be updated. Also no alcohol available, which is not clear in any of the information. Apparently beer could be bought but when we asked there wasn't any and we were directed to a bar/restaurant next to the hotel for any alcoholic drinks, so we ended up just eating and drinking in that restaurant.

Set in lovely grounds right on beach two pools.
We all know lots of hotels in Bali have seen better days you get what you pay for but two big beds put together nice
Tea coffee just two of each no milk no creamer. No info in room about hotel or Bali which seemed strange.
Although we did not need them others might.
Please someone put rubbish bins on beach’s for people to use

Great value old style resort hotel right on the beach at the southern, quieter end of Sanur. Facilities a bit old but generally in good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice pool and several nearby cafes and restaurants. Easy 10 minute walk to centre of town.

The breakfast was pretty plain.
I didn’t like that pool staff allowed sun beds to be reserved in the morning by people who didn’t come back until afternoon.

Stunning Location by the beach and excellent, well kept grounds. However the rooms need some tender loving care to bring them up to the International Standards they no doubt were a few years ago.

Staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to help, and always with a smile.
We are return visitors many times to this hotel. The location is perfect, set on a lovely beach. Best suited to couples looking for a relaxing holiday.
