Loved every minute of our stay here! We stayed at the Limasan Beach front 2 room villa and later at the 2 bedroom apartment villa - both are directly on the beach and metres away from the water.

The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and make you feel at home. They plan daily activities and we’d highly recommend the Plataran sunrise experience! The rooms are luxurious and well maintained.

Will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Amazing property and seculsion with fantastic team

Amazing private and beautiful property. Service level is very good. Accommodations, facilities (such as on site snorkelling, kayaking etc) and phenomenal spa. Food at the the restaurants could be a lot better (particularly for lunch/dinner/snacks variety offered, price and in only the big seafood platters quality) whilst breakfast is great - I say that having stayed at their sister property where we didn’t need to leave the resort to eat, here we did. Getting into and out of town is a pain and quite expensive; which compounds the food problem.

This is an amazing property with fab services. The location is stunning and the whole property is really tastefully designed and decorated. The facilities are beautiful and we enjoyed the restaurants, barbeque evening, kayaking, snorkeling, and personalized services. Would love to return in the future.

Rooms are lovely. But the resort is tired. The beach not quite swimmable. We only stayed one night, but the checkin process was annoying. It tried to be a five star process but we had to pull up confirmation emails, sign forms and it took a while. Then they wanted to do a 5 minute spa presentation. We declined and asked to be taken to our rooms. It was too much. The effort is there but that same effort is awkward.

We stayed in Plataran resorts in Borabadur and Labuan Bajo. The rooms and facilities are outstanding. The food and service are good. This is an excellent jumping off point to go to Komodo island marine park. The only thing to keep in mind is that you can't walk into the water off the beach because of crabs.

Quiet and relaxing. Really nice villas. Probably the nicest place in Komodo.
Staff should probably pay a little more attention to picking up trash along the beach. Also, one of the 2 paddle boards was broken

While the staff was lovely, we had a bed bug issue.

Staff could not do enough for you. The villa was clean, excellent location. Located in a secluded area - 10 minutes away from town area. Staff were magnificent, helpful and cheerful. Food at the bistro and restaurant were good.

Ideal location for a visit to Komodo Island

We had a great stay at Plataran while visiting Komodo Island. Staff was very helpful in arranging activities and helping out if anything. In many respects this was as close to paradise as you get.

Should i point out two small improvement areas it would be the food meny which is not to exciting (in particular for a resort where the nearest outside restaurant is quite far away) and that the staff could have been slightly more proactive when it came to taking orders by the pool area and the beach. That aside we had a phenomenal time.

Great experience. Very responsive staff that met us at the airport and drove us to the villa. they set up a WhatsApp chat with the staff and answered all of our questions quickly. Even helped to translate with one of our guides on a day trip. Breakfast is included and fresh every day. Great experience and staff.

Wonderful, somewhat secluded hotel, great service

Our stay at the Plataran was wonderful. It was hard to get a true sense of the place beforehand, but we were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. The location is a bit isolated, so I personally would plan on spending most of your time at the hotel. The main town of Labuan Bajo is kind of ratty so you aren't missing much. The hotel is located on a quiet and calm bay just north of the main town and it's beautiful. Most rooms seem to spill right onto the beach. It's not a huge place, but offered more than we expected for its size. Food at the restaurant was quite good actually, and they have a 2nd restaurant that we didn't try. The staff and service were extremely attentive and helpful. We booked a private boat tour to Komodo etc. ourselves and they have a nice jetty set up just off the hotel where the boat picked us up. Very convenient! If we ever come back this way, will definitely stay here again.

Overall the space, service and view were absolutely gorgeous. The room was especially tranquil both inside and outside. Staff was amazingly kind and conversational which was very welcome as a solo traveler.

Only two things were slightly disappointing. The first was that my shower / bathroom needed to be re-grouted. While not dirty, pieces of grout were coming loose and tiles were no longer solidly in place. Secondly, was the construction (noise and inconvenience) of the gym and spa. While knowledge of either of these in advance would not have changed my decision to stay at Plataran (and will probably be done soon in 2019) I may not have scheduled three spa services. Also, with so many activities I wasn't around a lot during the day for construction noise.

Beautiful. We booked the Limasan Beachfront Villa for 3 (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 king beds) and stayed at Villa Ikan Terbang (Flying Fish Villa). Was situated right in front of the beach closest to the Plataran entrance. Service was excellent. Hotel manager, Agus, and front desk manager, Anton, were very accommodating. Welcomed with a drink, had daily free breakfast and afternoon tea, and were even given a history of the island while relaxing by the pool. Only downsides were that one of our bathrooms had a leaking toilet (loose pipe below the toilet) that was fixed same day, WiFi went down for two days due to bad weather that caused the optic fiber cable to be severed (other hotels nearby like Ayana lost WiFi too), and the ACs tend to drop a tiny bit over time when run at full blast. Not a problem as we spent more time exploring than at the hotel. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. For Labuan Bajo, I recommend booking the Plataran if you want a traditional feel and your own villa as opposed to the Ayana which is more modern and has hotel rooms. Labuan Bajo is also a very beautiful destination. Recommend taking tours to see the komodo dragons at Rinca island. Go to Padar Island for a scenic hike and Taka Makassar island for gorgeous scenery and great snorkeling.

Being the only guests the first two nights we were given very special attention indeed. Lovely stay. Friendly people. Excellent massage and great to see all the staff come out to clean the beach. Excellent breakfasts. When the villas tarting filling up the place got a little too noisy but maybe that was because we were used to the tranquility being the only guests. Enjoyed the homemade cookies each night placed in our bedroom.

Nice Resort with free shuttle to town. 15min. Lovely sunset.
We used paddle board. Caught speed boat from resort to Rangko Cave and Pirate Island in one day trip.
Dinner In Atlantis on the Beach.
Swam in Resort pool, warm.

Big Villa in a nice spot

We enjoyed our stay at Plataran Komodo. It felt quite luxurious after being on a liveaboard for a few nights. We had a deluxe Villa which was huge, with a massive bathroom including bathtub. The service was great and the staff welcoming. Nice, plentiful breakfast. A little out of town but there are 2 restaurants on site. We didnt get the chance to use it, but the Padma Spa looked nice and prices seemed ok for a resort.

Fantastic resort in a beautiful location

The Plataran is a located in a quiet corner of Labuan Bajo, on a semi-private beach about 15-20min from the centre by car.

Our villa was fantastic: brand new, beautifully decorated with a mixture of traditional and modern furnishings, and fully equiped with all the amenities one needs while away, a gorgeous bath and a very comfortable bed.

The beach was lovely and the sea was clear and ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The resort provides canoes, fins and goggles free of charge. It’s perfect for couples or friends looking to get away from it all and relax.

The restaurant serves a mixture of Asian and Western food, reasonably priced and very tasty overall. Breakfast is à la carte and includes a large selection of dishes to suit every palate...and the coffee was great.

And last but not least, the service was phenomenal, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and always made sure our every need was taken care of.

I would definitely stay at the Plataran again If I ever went back to Labuan Bajo.

Lovely small resort with stunning views

Gorgeous setting right on the beach. Beach front villa very comfy and roomy and exactly as shown in all the pictures. Outdoor bathroom - looks great but you then walk out from a cool air conditioned room into a sweltering hot bathroom every time you need the loo or shower. Also bugs etc. Breakfast was at Atlantis as main reception was being renovated during our stay. All staff are friendly and polite and happy to help. Sea is good for a swim but a lot of the nearby coral is bleached - its much better round the end of the pier. Courtesy car to/from LB if required - town is worth a visit but probably just once for an evening meal/drink - roads are poor, especially the initial ride and round the new hotel construction round the next bay. Also complimentary speedboat to Angel Island - that really is a James Bond type experience, especially if its just you - we went twice and the 2nd time we were the only people there - snorkeling is v.good here. Pool are is OK too. Not yet a 5 star place despite the relatively high prices but probably one of if not the best resort on Flores itself - all in all a very relaxing and comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings.
