Comfort and value.

Great pool facilities and apartment was clean with everything you need. The closest beach is Burriana beach but is bit of walk. There's public bus but it only comes hourly. My family enjoyed the stay and would come back again.

Nice Urbanisation area that is pretty and well maintained. A bit of a walk from Nerja town (2km from beach) but we like a walk! Easy parking but it was low season at Easter. Liked the Cave Bar; very friendly staff.

The property had a fully equipped kitchenette and washing machine in the showeroom. No bath unfortunately and mould around shower door. Back bedroom smelled of damp, bed a bit uncomfortable but all clean. The private balcony was large, had sunbeds, two tables and superb views of the town and sea. The area around the property is wonderful if not a bit hilly. Overall the property is old and quite tired but you get value for money. My main complaint would be the workmen doing maintenance on the outside the bedroom of the property using hammers and picks starting at 8am in the morning for two days in a row.

This place was great value for money. A short €1 bus ride to lots of bars, restaurants nice beaches. Very friendly staff and the grounds were well tended. Didn't get any maid service during our stay and I thought it was a bit cheeky to have to pay for sun loungers. It's a very hilly area so some people may struggle but overall a great getaway with some beautiful scenery

I liked the traditional shape of the building, the kitchen area had all that was needed in terms of utensils.I loved the layout of the property. The only downfall was the view of the building complex taking place opposite our apartment looking at two large cranes and listening to Building works was not the most appealing and not being told about it , was a bit wrong , but i still enjoyed it . Also one minor issue was that we had to pay for sunbeds around the pool, which was not mentioned when booking. Apart from that i would stay there again .

This was not a expensive holiday and i did not expect a palace
Property a bit dated but clean and i was happy with that. Staff all very friendly. Nerja is a lovely place and will again. The pools were clean. What i didn't like;

Paying for pool sunbeds
Booking a double bed and getting 2 singles
Told there was internet and it bidn't work.

Overall i was happy with the holiday but the little things irritate and if put right would make the complex extremely good

Another pleasant stay at the Capistrano Village. Pools and Gardens were lovely and the Cave Bar was a find this year - good beer, food and service. Only downside was we were at the top of the hill this time and it was just that bit too far after walking back from the centre. Got a taxi back on the evenings. Apartment was good in most respects bar the aircon which couldn't get below 18 degrees and the bathroom was boiling 24/7. The balcony afforded nice sea views. The service provided by El Sur was excellent.

The place itself is beautiful and very well looked after however the apartment we stayed in was really run down, door handles falling off and not working correctly, air conditioning wasn’t working properly and leaking so there was no point in using that, asked for a double bed and got 2 single beds so ended up on the sofa every night and the list goes on, it’s a shame because the rest of the complex is really nice and well looked after, the happy hour at the cave bar is what saved my holiday, wouldn’t stay here again though!

We try to go every year, El Capistrano Sur is close to the lovely city of Nerja and a good start to enjoy all between Malaga, Granada and The Sierra Nevada. You need to rent a car. By the way Capistrano has it all, swimming pool, shop and restaurants. But having a meal in the city is always fun.

A pleasant area a distance from beach and town

Our property was spacious and well equiped but requires significant investment to bring it up to a modern standard. Area around property and on urbanisation was pleasant and well kept. Property had good terraces but suffered from some road noise at particular times of the day. Location is a good walk from both beach and town centre particurly on the uphill return. Nerja town centre is a bustling holiday resort with plenty of good restaurants and bars. Visited the Nerja cuevas which are impressive and Torrox costa which was a lot quieter than Nerja which had a lot of well priced restaurants along the promenade. A pleasant holiday.

Great location but needs updating.

Whilst villa was in an excellent location across from a restaurant and bus stop into town, it did need a little tlc.Bathroom great as recently renovated but other rooms tired, settee worn out kitchen very small and we didn't get duvet covers. My son loved the huge TV and Sky Sports!

A home from home

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a studio apartment with a mezzanine for sleeping. Beautiful secluded terrace area with Bougainville around. Rustic and homely inside which suited us well - all very functional. Used electric heater which was supplied when it was a bit cooler in the evening which was useful. Found whole village very quaint and well maintained. We enjoyed the 15 min walk down to beach and about 25 min walk into the town which we chose to do despite having a car. The Mercadona opposite was being renovated during our stay but there was another supermarket very close by to walk to. The reption staff member we dealt with on checking in was extremely helpful - we'd arrived early and he went above and beyond to accommodate this which we really appreciated.

We had a 2 bedroom villa with 2 balcony and a front and back garden ! , lots of tables and chairs to admire the sea views , villa was clean and very large with two toilets and a full size tv ! staff were great ,asked for more pillows ,sorted no problem . Good position, 15mins to beach or town

Standards has to improve

Cosy little appartment/house village, but with bad/terrible standards regarding beds and heating and furniture (at least 20-30 years old). Not so very expensive and I Guess you get what you pay for. I would not recommend it - I think you can get better standards for less Money....

The apartment has a great terrace but the inside is very tired. I have to say though it was spotlessly clean. The terrace saved it. We spent all of our time out there. It is also right next to the pool. It is a 20 minute walk into town, so you may want a car.

Nerja is beautiful, our apartment was not !!

Stayed at one of the Studio apartments for 7 nights at the end July/beginning of August as we were attending a 50th party in the area.

You need to be careful as the listing is a little misleading as these are peoples private holiday homes let out by the agent on the urbanisation when not in use and not by a company providing commercial accommodation such as a hotel etc. The apartment itself was clean if not a little shabby with many fitments hanging off or been poorly fitted. The worst part of all is that the apartment had no Air Con and was unbelievably hot, we measured the inside temperature at 50+ degrees and the humidity was horrendous. Being a studio apartment, it had a mezzanine floor with the bed upstairs with an incredibly low ceiling which acted like a pizza oven, it was stifling. We ended up 'sleeping\" downstairs on the sofa, if you can call \"sleeping\" the odd hour or so nap we managed to get. We complained to the agent who could only offer us a free standing air con unit if we paid an extra 60 Euros for the week, I declined as I thought it was a rip off. I have since been told that under Spanish law, properties made available for tourism rental must have air conditioning fitted, I checked this online myself and it is correct. The complex itself is nice with swimming pools etc, but my wife returned with two of her bathing suits ruined by the high chlorine content in the water turning them a yellow/green colour. Don't think I will be rushing to stay here again.

Visit the Caves.

The flat was not fully equipped. We had to lug luggage up some 40 steps. Not funny when in your twilight years. When booking ensure you get a flat on the float. None of this spoilt our stay in Nerja. Delightful small resort.

El Capistrano is a holiday village of apartments on the edge of Nerja, with El Capistrano Sur being one of four managing agents for the site. We had an initial disappointment on arrival as we had booked based on the Expedia web-page saying that all rooms had a separate bath (we like our baths!). Also, we had requested a double bed but got two singles. We approached the reception who were really friendly and helpful, but ultimately they couldn't change anything as all the accommodation has showers only and all have single beds - but they did at least arrange for the beds to be put together and made up as a double. The one bed apartment we were in had a lovely little private terrace and a well equipped kitchen (it was owned by a family and rented out through the agency). I used the communal swimming pool near our apartment (there are a few of them in the village) every morning when it was quiet - it was fairly well used in the afternoon. There are a few big supermarkets within a few hundred yards, although the small supermarket in the village was well stocked and had decent prices. There is a restaurant on site and more just off site, across the road. We had a hire car and there was never a problem parking. Everywhere in the village was kept very clean. It was a short trip into Nerja itself, probably about 30 minutes by foot. If you want the beach it is about 15 minutes away straight down across the road, a sandy beach with lots of shops and restaurant. I would certainly return

A lovely place to stay. A holiday village built in the traditional Andalusian style with well kept gardens and flowers in full bloom along the paths that wend their way between the villas. The local blue bus connects the village with Nerja town centre and the beaches. Convenient for the supermarket and buses to the Nerja Caves.

Very misleading on the website as to exactly what this hotel/villa business is.
On arrival it was hard to find reception. When we found it reception is open for very limited hours each day so had to hang around Nerja for hours before check in. I was given a villa a long way from where I was led to believe I'd booked. High up in the mountains 30 mins walk from outskirts of Nerja. Also up lots of steps. The man at check in was helpful and polite. My villa was VERY SMELLY - Spanish plumbing but also a very stinky water heater in a bedroom cupboard that honestly smelt as though something had died in there. Needed the windows open as much as possible which is hard over late December early January as it's cold at night. Only one little heater + heater in bathroom. Basic bedrooms, could do with upgrading but OK. Had to buy some equipment for the kitchen as in my experience this was VERY BASIC and lacking. Also the kettle was dodgy - boiling on it's own but not when switched on intentially. There were light bulbs out in the bathroom. Living space was OK..... Balcony/terrace was the saving grace for this villa as it has a beautiful panoramic view of Nerja, sea and mountains with amazing sunrise and sunsets every day. Also very peaceful and quiet which is what I was looking for. No wifi.

Peaceful, pretty, perfect

If you are looking to stay somewhere in Nerja that isn't right on top of everything then this is the place. It's about a 15 minute down hill walk to Burriana beach and 20-25 minute walk in to town. If you're not keen on walking then there is a bus that will take you to either to the Caves of Nerja (a must do) or the opposite way in to the heart of town. There are 2 pool areas, a restaurant and bar. It really is very pretty with white walls and beautiful flowers everywhere. When the San Isidro festival is on in May it's just a few steps away from where the procession of horse drawn carts, floats and folk in traditional dress pass through on their way to Nerja caves, where they have a big party and live music to celebrate the occasion. Just fab 😊

Perfect holiday

Having read the instructions for key collection knowing we could not get into 4pm we arrived a bit earlier and sat around the pool area very close by. Flight and bus travel were arranged so that we arrived during day time just incase we had any problems. All went very smoothly keys collect and then a nice surprise taken to the accommodation. Accommodation was just what we had hoped for and although it was at the top of the hill perfect for us the views were amazing . We walked down to Nerja everyday catching the bus back, stops are well placed hourly bus while we were there as not high season and no bus between 2 an 5 rest time but they did go on into late in the evening. Cost 1 euro. The area is beautiful just walking around the apartment areas with there lovely gardens is a joy. We didn't make use of the pool we enjoy walking and having been to the area before we already had our days planned. Nerva its self is a lovely area a must is Maro and Nerva Caves. The beech are all good lovely places to stop for coffee and cake or ice cream. We eat out every lunch time the quality and price of restaurant food is very good, choosing to enjoy our garden and patio for an evening meal. Supermarkets in the area are good with good choose of fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables. Surprised not a larger selection of wine but enough to choose from. Great to have fresh orange juice for our breakfast sat outside looking out to sea.Will return very soon .

Apartment was in a great location. Not too far to walk to beaches, town and various supermarkets. Beautiful setting - very geen and well kept public areas, lovely views of sea and mountains. Apartment was in need of refurbishment particularly the bathroom/shower. No air con or fan meant it was very uncomfortable to sleep in. They eventually provided us with a small fan and we also bought one for 20 euros which made it a little more comfortable. Lovely pools but unable to use. We were warned by another guest that there was too much chlorine in water and it was turning bikins green. My daughter now has a white bikini with yellow/green patches all over it!

The El Capistrano development is on the hillside overlooking Nerja. This was our first time back since 2001. The development had been well maintained. The villa was cheap but I would rather have paid a little more to get nicer bathrooms and better beds/sheets. Our villa had a nice kitchen/living area and a good sized balcony but the bathrooms were pretty grotty and need to be modernised. I'd only recommend staying in El Capistrano if you have a car otherwise it would be a pain to get to the beach and into town for dinner.

5 night break away. El C Sur is a complex of apartments, townhouses etc rather than a hotel which was ideal for us, we stayed there last year and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break. It is up a hill so not ideal for those with walking difficulties. Reception staff are very helpful but limited opening hours, small store, lovely cave bar, restaurant & there is a large supermarket within walking distance for everything else. Nerja town is walkable with lovely bars and restaurants. All in all a lovely place to stay or even just to visit

The area is a 40 minute walk, all up a very steep hill from town. Do not book this apartment if you do not have a car unless you are a fitness fanatic. A cab will be required daily. Find somewhere else.

Holiday complex set in lovely grounds

We stayed in a 2 bedroomed villa at El Capistrano village complex. The villa had it's own private garden. The balcony from the living room looked out over Nerja to the sea. The lawns, olive and lemon trees, shrubs and flower beds surrounding the villa were beautifully kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The blue bus was handy for getting to and from Nerja's town centre and beach.

Capistrano village is lovely

The village is beautifully kept with many privately own apartments, town houses and villa's. Many nationalities which made it a pleasing mix. Small local convenience store on site but a large supermarket within easy walking distance. Local bus every hour and plenty of taxis to hand. The village is on a hillside but manageable, 15 min strole down to town, slightly longer on the way back up!. Pools looked well maintained although due to exploring after hiring a car we never actually used the facilities. 20 euro deposit gave you the pool pass (returned on checkout) but there is s fee for the sunbeds. Restaurant by the pool was very friendly albeit quite, but here you could access WiFi which was not available in the accommodation, food was ok and drinks very reasonable. The local bar 'the Cave' was lovely and appeared very popular, food was available although we did not eat here, would recommend booking a table as many seem to do this which makes seating just for drinks tight, drinks again very reasonably priced.
The house we were allocated (after booking an apartment, nice surprise indeed) was lovely, clean and spacious, albeit a little tired around the edges, kitchen was adequate but again tired and could do with updating. Small electric stove with a stove top kettle, so leave plenty of time when making a cup of coffee and you will be fine. No hairdryer, was not a problem for us but maybe would be for some so pack a small travel one and problem solved.
Highly recommended.

Beware of Non-disclosures and lack of details

The hotel and hotels.com neglect to mention that these villas have no air conditioners. The villas are beautiful and clean but when it feels like you are in an oven and you are trying to sleep a small fan just is not sufficient. Also, they advertise free wifi and parking. What they don't tell you is that the wifi is only near the reception area and pool. Again,these are villas that expand across blocks so you may have to walk blocks to the reception area to get the wifi. As for the parking, it's free because you park in the street and if you are lucky you will find something near by if not you have a lot of walking to do to get to your villa. As mentioned, the villas are really cute and clean but NO air conditioning. We had a reservation for two nights and after spending that horrible night we wanted to get a refund for the second night but the hotel would not give us the money back. Long story short we lost the money for the second night and had to pay the second night at another hotel. Totally unnecessary and it was all due to non-disclosure by both the Capristrano Sur Villas and hotels.com.

Was there for only a short 2 days, but would happily come back. The place was nice, if a little far out from the town, but our room was in good condition, clean, the views from the balcony were superb, and we were close to the pools. Our kids loved our stay here.

Beautiful getaway but beware of the siesta!

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, a true getaway in a quiet area of Nerja. Lots of people suggest paying €60pp to get a taxi but you can get a 10 min train (€1.80) and then an hours coach (€5) to right outside the village. Takes a bit longer but you get all that extra sending money!

We were in the lower part of the village so the hill that others have mentioned was not so bad to put me off returning. It is a more of a village with various 'districts' than a hotel, which makes it a lovely place to stay as you don't just feel like you're in another typical hotel. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with terrace, small kitchenette, very comfy beds and sofa.

There is a market on Tuesdays about 10 minutes walk up the hill. Well worth a visit. It is a 15 min walk to Burriana Beach, From there you can walk along the front, on and off beaches, to the Balcon. Julie's is a wonderful place to eat - the owner sings, plays guitar, hums away whilst serving you. Delicious tapas and sangria...do stop by!

The 2 negative points...
- We arrived at 3pm. We had no idea they took a 4 hour siesta from 12-4 so we had a 1 hour wait, not too bad as we sat by the pool, but be aware so you know if you can check in.
- you need a pool pass which you can't get until you have checked in. You then have to pay extra to use the sun loungers and these are owned by someone other than the hotel, so they may or may not turn up to open for the day. It is totally random!

We knew El Capistrano was up the hill from downtown so this wasn't a concern. The front desk staff were very helpful. The write up for this property said wifi was included .... It was but you could only receive a signal if you sat outside the main office. Was disappointed with this! Also, the front desk forgot to give us our pool passes and the office hours are very limited. We went to sit at the pool and were told we couldn't enter without a pass! Finally we were told, after making us feel very awkward, that we could come in this time but would need a pass for next time! Then we went to get a lounger and the cost was €3 per person to sit down. I can see charging on the beach but we were staying here for 3 days! A nice place but don't know whether we'd stay again. One last note .... If you are overweight you may not fit through the door into the tiny shower ... Was quite a surprise!

Great little villa

We booked a couple of nights stay after reading previous reviews, not really expecting much as we got such a good deal. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautifully maintained communal areas and gardens. The villa itself had a view of the ocean from the terrace, had an adequately equipped kitchen inc a fridge/freezer, 4 ring hob and oven plus most basic things you'd expect or hope for. It also had two bathrooms with decent showers and indoor/outdoor eating areas. It even had a little b b q in the garden!! The communal pools were well maintained if a little chilly at the beg of May for my 2yr old to spend much time in and the on-site shop had pretty much anything we wanted. All in all, we were impressed and would def recommend El Capistrano to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

But excellent location and friendly helpful stsff.

Disappointing!

Disappointing stay. No reception open on arrival, you had to ring for someone to come with keys. That person indicated where the property was but did not wait to see us enter the flat. That was unfortunate as it was impossible to get in as door was jammed. We went back reception to get phone number to ring again for assistance but it had quickly been removed leaving us in difficulties. Luckily someone came to our aid and we managed to unjam the door.
The flat was in need of renovation as decoration was tatty and flaking walls. I had booked a one bedroom apartment, but in reality the bed was on a mezzanine floor with restricted headroom and no storage. The main window was cracked, one of the burners on two burner hob was not working, there was no ice box door on the fridge so it didnt work properly,the bedding was damp,the boiler did not provide enough hot enough for two showers and the bed was quite short for an average height person.We had to park our car some distance away from the cost which was not a problem, although it was very difficult to carry suitcases up and down a number of steps and steep slopes.

Beautiful village

Well, El Capistrano Sur is a very pretty Adalucian village, manacured and well maintained, down side, very very steep and long way from Beach or town. Not too many facililies on site either, One proper restaurant, 2 pool side bars?restaurants. I thought id booked villa on lower level! ended up at top, called San Juan, need a car up there! Staff on reception very good and moved us down to bottom of village. Still 73 steps to road, we managed to walk the half hour to beach and town but others would struggle. Pools beautiful but full of restrictions and sun beds and brollies had to be paid for extra! Resort very clean and prices very reasonable, but very quiet for late June. I think all inclusive is killing these holidays!!! Its an hour from airport and taxis expensive, I booked a shuttle from home and got a reasonable price. There is a bus service on the hour to town and beach, but dosent stop many places in village.
We had a lovely relaxing holiday, would go again but with friends I think, if you go check where your accomodation is located or you will need a car.

Fantastic apartment with all the facilities!

Our apartment was brilliant, we had plenty of space and the kitchen was fully equipped.
Really good value for 3 star, although I do think that the apartments will vary across the complex and we maybe just got lucky!
Pool area and bar were great.
However we hadn't realised how huge the complex was, we got lost 3 times trying to find the supermarket!! -Not walkable to the centre of Nerja from our place at the top of the steep hill!

Very pretty complex with all we needed on site.

We have just returned from a week in El Capistrano Village and thought it was a lovely place to stay. The area is so pretty and clean. The complex has 3 decent sized pools and a couple of baby pools, all of which were in very clean order. The only thing I could find fault with was the distance to the town centre of Nerja. It was a good 20 minutes walk - fine going there as it's down hill but a tiring walk back in the heat, all up hill.. The onsite pub, The Cave, was really friendly and served good quality food.

Capristrano village is 20 minutes' walk from pretty Burriana beach, built higher up on a hillside, resulting in the most amazing views of the Mediterranean sea. The gardens around the village are fabulous, full of exotic plants with heady fragrance. People are friendly, the pools lovely and clean, and food from the nearby supermarket inexpensive and the meat restaurant-quality.

Great location and loads of parking. We paid for a one bed and got two when we arrived which was brilliant.

Villa was lovely and spacious with awesome views down to the coast. Slightly dated bathroom but all fully functional.

Accommodation set in beautiful village format. However glad we had assistance to get our bags down a lot of stairs from the car parking area. Villa adequate apart from very sparse on cooking utensils. eg. sharp knives, shopping board, only one shelf in oven, making cooking difficult. We were only there for a week and eat out some times, but we also like to buy local produce and cook for ourselves. If someone was staying in the villa for several month they would have to purchase items to make their stay amenable, unless they were able to eat out all the time! Thank goodness we had come out to meet friends who had their caravan with them and loaned us some emergency supplies.

The gentleman in the reception office was extremely helpful and went out of his way to help with the various local activities. Which included the Nerja Carnival in March and the recommendation to Nerja Caves which were fantastic. Also we would recommend the all you can eat Paella place at AYO on Burriana Beach. Euro6.50.

There are good local supermarkets as well as the one at the village. Market on Tuesdays very good for veg, spices and olives. Also the usual array of clothes and local crafts.

Lovely villa in quiet, beautiful surroundings.

This lovely 3 bedroomed villa is in a quiet, beautiful village style setting. The villa was well equipped and comfortable. The spring the flowers added to the beauty of the setting. It was easy to get into Nerja on the local 'blue bus' which stopped nearby. The little supermarket stocked our basic needs and the staff were friendly and understood us despite our lack of Spanish!

good size rooms but in need of referbishment

the villa was quite large enough for 4 people it was in need of update of bathroom and kitchen
there is an 4 ring hob and microwave but no oven. this only 1 bath room upstairs and toilet with wash baison down stairs off the living room furniture was old but adequte. beds hard. outside nice garden eith lots of chairs on the balconies

Although very clean the apartment smelt stale,however we were only there for 3 days so no real problem.Site was excellent,facilities great would certainly return.Swimming pools very clean with evidence of water checks being carried out monthly.

Nice, but a few pointers for Americans.

Overall, I like the location. It had several pools to choose from and the one by my apartment even had a snack bar open during the day. There was a bar, restaurant, and convenience store in the complex which were nice to have. The store was very well stocked. The bar had a nice happy hour and free wifi. The place itself was very private, had a nice view, and was pretty well stocked with kitchen supplies.

If you rent here, do know that google maps/siri will steer you wrong and you will have a hard time finding it. We had to call the place to find it. We were very close (just one road over), but it was hard to know that. If you found the right road off the roundabout, you will know instantaneously as there is a big sign with a map of the property. If you don't see that you are in the wrong place.

My only complaints are more from an American view, and thought it might be good to point out. As far as I can tell all units allow smoking. So if you are a non-smoker and don't like that musty smoke smell in your apartment, you may not be happy. We had to air it out every day to try to get rid of the smell. Also, make sure you book the right kind of bed setup that you want. We ended up with 2 twin beds, which was not actually what we wanted.

'Climb Every Mountain!'

The views from our apartment were stunning,but no-one informed us that to reach it required climbing at least a hundred steps! When we booked the apartment we were led to believe that it was within walking distance of the beach when in reality it was at least 3km away down an extremely steep hill. We spent the first few days of our holiday getting lost as the map given to us was totally misleading. Eventually a local restaurant provided us with a readable map! The pool and resort itself is lovely, but without a car you are reliant on taxis and the local bus service. If you have young children and do not enjoy walking VAST distances this resort is certainly not suitable. On the day of departure we were not offered any help to carry our luggage down to the meeting point 2km away and had to ring the local taxi service at 7.am.

El Capistrano Sur 1 Bedroom Villa with Garden

We had a very pleasant experience at El Capistrano Sur. Capistrano Village is a large vacation community consisting of apartments and small houses. The architecture is beautiful and respectful of the traditional Andalusian \"white villages\". Three very nice swimming pools, a restaurant and a bar, and a small convenience store are in the center of the village. A large convenience store is just outside the gates, a five minute walk away. The beaches and downtown area are 15-20 minute walk downhill, there is a bus that goes downtown once every hour, and taxis are 7 euros. The staff are very helpful. Our only minor complaint is with the size of our \"villa\". We booked a 1 bedroom villa for 3 people. Our 15 year old daughter slept on a movable bed in the living /dining room, and that got a little crowded. This arrangement is appropriate for a family with a small child, but not for three adults. The kitchen was nice and definitely o.k. for preparing small meals. The apartment was spotless. We will definitely consider going there again.

On arrival at the so called Hotel, we where given little to know information on the procedures for room cleaning and towel changes, which it turns out there was none. This would have been fine if we had known about this at booking, or on arrival. I had my swim gear stolen off our veranda, it may not sound like much but my bikini top happened to be a very expensive, rare indulgence, from Harvey Nic's. When I reported this theft at reception I was practically dismissed has if lying. I was told nothing could be done, though he would report it to security who would take a look round. When I went back I was told security had found nothing. at this I informed him he hadn't even taken my room number or a description of the stolen items, with this he looked unsettled, yet quickly recovered telling me the gardeners and security were looking around the grounds and gardens. Another thing that annoyed me was, I was told on informing the reception of the theft, that this had never happened before, however when talking to a long term resident we were informed that this type of theft is rife, has gypsies roam the area stealing anything and selling it for very little on market stalls, had I been informed of this on arrival my belongings would have been taken inside. I also feel I must mention the room we stayed in only had a door to divide us from our holiday makers next door, this resulted in every sound made at night at specially annoying, a simple door is completely inadequate.

Great value in beautiful Mediteranean villa

We had a very large two bedroom apartment with big living room, dining room, and a huge patio with view of the Sea. Gorgeous landscaping, quiet streets, old Spanish architecture make staying here a very pleasant destination. Full kitchen, completely furnished with everything you will need. Manuel went out of his way to be helpful to us, calling ahead to our next destination to get directions and parking. A wonderful place to stay, with bus stop right outside our door if we needed to go into the shopping area. Close enough to walk to the grocery. Lots of facilities right on site, including the \"Cave Bar\" which looked very inviting. Swimming pool looked well maintained, although it was too cold to swim when we were there. This was an unbelievable value and I highly recommend it.

\"Great value.\"

We went for a 6 night beach holiday in May but the weather was \"iffy\". However, due to the lovely accomodation in a 2 bed (free upgrade from 1 bed) villa with garden this helped make our stay much more enjoyable. It's not super luxurious, a few cracks here and there, but very good value for money at £30 per night in May. As a miserly middle aged couple we don't want to go out every night, so enjoyed using the large well equipped kitchen to cook our own meals. These we could eat al fresco at the garden tables on either balcony or terrace when the sun shone, or indoors at the dining table or bistro table or informally on laps sat in front of the telly as we did whilst watching the Eurovision Song contest on a rather cold Saturday night (Inglaterra, nil points!). We visited the complex pools but the weather meant these were too cold for us to use, however the complex is beautiful as there are well maintained flowering plants everywhere. The complex is about 1-2km from Burriana Beach, we had a car but probably not too hard to walk there for the active and able, but it would be all up hill on the way back. There did seem to be numerous buses at regular intervals at the site though. There is a small supermarket on site but we visited the nearby Super Sol supermarket to do our shopping and thus I have now discovered olives stuffed with blue cheese, mmmmm. All in all I enjoyed Nerja and the stay was made more enjoyable by staying at El Capistran Sur.

Great for Hillwalkers

Location is terrible, on top of a hill miles from the centre. A real calf burner of a walk back up the hill.

Arrived just after 2pm but reception is closed until 4pm.

No Wifi in apartment despite Expedia mentioning Free Wifi when i booked. Wifi is only available in the small reception area and every morning guests can be seen sitting on the steps outside the office with computers. The staff offered to put me in another apartment as they could receive wifi from one of the other companies but the balcony wasnt up to much.

The expedia description on my booking was one bed villa with private garden. I was given a one bedroom apartment with balcony. The apartment was actually great to be fair and included full sky sports packge.

Bed had plastic hospital type sheets so it was like sleeping on a crisp packet.

Overall i wouldnt recomend staying here as there are much better apartments for rent closer to the town and beaches.

Beatuiful hotel village

We had a two bed spacious villa with lots of room for my 6 year old and other members of our party (3 adults). The location was fantastic with wonderful views of the sea in front and the mountains behind. The villa had two beatufiul terraces, one of which was on the roof with all around view of the area. the staff was very helpful. One of the staff recommended a visit to a nearby village of Frigilliana. It is indeed a must-see spot! Do not miss it! It was a brilliant experience overall.

Well kept area with beautiful scenery and surroundings. Our appartment was basic, but clean and all we needed for our short break. The view from the balcony was amazing. It was just a pity the weather was not so good. El capistrano village is lovely, the cave bar was cosy and welcoming and the restaurant on site was fabulous. We never had the chance to use the pools because of the weather. We were pleased we hired a car as, unless you are a keen hillwalker its quite a trek into the lovely town of Nerja with its beautiful beaches. We will go back again. The price was right for a last minute break.

A very pleasant week.

A very good place to stay for a walking Holiday. Just at the foot of the mountains. A bit of a walk to the centre of town, though. Rooms were very clean, water was hot and the shower powerful. Used the on site bar/restaurant a few times and it too was very satisfactory. We had only one tiny criticism. ..... We arrived very late in the day and if there had been a small carton of milk and a couple of teabags/sachet of coffee in the room it would have been most welcome!

Ideal, peaceful and quiet oasis.

Peaceful and quiet oasis, larger complex than I imagined and Sat Nav had problems in finding it, but overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience, obviously helped by the fine weather at New Year. Plenty of facilities, both on site and nearby. No good if you want to be close to the beach, but in easy (driving) striking distance of many attractions. Ideal as a base for exploring the area, very close (not too close) to the Auto Via to connect to other areas too.

Our apartment was very well equipped with big terrace and wonderful view. On the contrary, our friends have stayed in an apartment with almost no kitchen utilities and old furniture. Apart of that, three of seven days we together stayed there, in front of their terrace a big maintenance truck was parked just in front of their terrace.

Bit of a mix up when we arrived late at night - couldn't find our name behind the wrought iron bars at reception. Studio cleaned once during the week and no change of linen & towels but we managed okay. The site is immaculate and the pools are amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful. High up on a hillside makes it a challenge but worth the exercise. Would definitely return and recommend it to friends and family.

Lovely village, steep hills and lots of steps!

El Capistrano is a very pretty holiday village, a lovely Spanish feel. If you have not hired a car it is a long walk to the town or beach, we used local taxis a lot!. We did struggle with the fact the apartment was not air conditioned and only had one fan. There was also no welcome pack so all essentials had to be purchased. Be aware within village and to get to most apartments there are lots of steps, so if you have trouble walking or carrying cases up and down steps maybe not for you, also lots of very steeps hills. But the positive is Nerja is lovely and made you really feel that you were in Spain.

Beautiful Village! Recommend

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. It was clean, nicely located, though a little run down. The location was great -- about a 15-20minute walk to downtown or to the beach. The staff was friendly and the grounds of the village were GORGEOUS!! Good parking too. Definitely would go back and highly recommend to others.

Stayed at a one bedroom apartment with hubby and 2 kids; will definitely recommends as it was exactly as stated on brochure- Living/dining room with incorporated kitchenette (had pots/plates/cutlery), twin bedroom/sofa bed in living room, shower and toilet and a small private garden. There is a kid’s pool and adult pool.
Will not recommend the Supersol supermarket that is close-by- it’s very expensive. Another 20min walk will take you to Mercando which is cheaper and if you drive you can go a further 10mins to Lidl.
Loads of beaches and it was relaxing- went in early May so it was not too packed.
Best to wonder into town for more affordable and varied delicacies/restaurants.

Séjour de 5 nuits à Nerja pour essentiellement farniente, plage et sorties dans la ville. Le logement était situé assez loin du centre de Nerja, à flanc de montagne. Idéalement il faut une voiture. Sinon, un bus passe toutes les heures pour accéder au centre et aux plages. L'appartement correspondait à la description faite avec toutes les commodités.

Positivt: Romslig leilighet, godt klimaanlegg, fint uteanlegg med bra bassenger
Negativt: Bestilte rom til 6 personer, men bare 4 senger. Måtte improvisere med en feltseng og en fårlig sofa. Stedet mente at de ikke hadde fått beskjed om at det var mer enn 4 personer.
Lite kapasitet på strøm, kunne bare bruke en kokeplate
Noen ting var slitte og til dels i ustand; som dørvridere, lås til bad.

Beautiful Capistrano Village

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Apartment with big terrace with oceanview and sunshine all day. Apartment nice, some apppliances not working in the kitchen, but not a problem for a one week stay. Capistrano village is quiet and beautiful, easy walk to Burriana beach and Nerja city center. Restaurant and bar closed due to covid, but other places close by.

Lidt kedelig mørk lejlighed i stueplan uden udsigt. Fint udstyret køkken.
Flot poolområde med enestående udsigt, bemærk at der skal betales for solsenge.
