I booked three rooms during my stay. The carpets in all three rooms are very dirty and stained, and the noise level can be high, depending on the guests staying above you. The water in my shower took a long time to get hot, at least 5 minutes. Lastly, when I put on the robe provided by the hotel after my shower, it had a strong cologne scent, suggesting that the hotel did not wash it after the previous guest wore it.

Overall, the stay was pleasant. Except that we suffered from 30 insect bites (likely mosquitoes) - would have been better if the hotel cautioned us or provided insect repellent (more on increasing awareness and prevention to make the stay even better).

An iconic hotel at Sun Moon Lake with its internal wooden structure. Room and spacious. Bathroom was big and came with bathtub and shower room. Bed was very comfortable.

Included dinner set was delicious and room rate was value-for-money.

Property looked really good on Expedia site with good reviews but turned out disappointing. No Expedia Gold+ room upgrade was offered, not even after I prompted. Rooms were not soundproof and as the entire estate is built on wood, you can actually hear the conversation of your neighbour's room next door. Buffet breakfast was okay quality, but cloth cover on chairs were worn and torn. Gym was barely existent, with 4 old cardio machines and a rack of rusty dumbbells.

Walk distance to the shop and food. Shuttles only two times to Shui Shu, 1130 and 1330. So need to plan ahead. Staff are friendly ienand helpful. Hotel provides free breakfast buffet. Food are great and many to choose from. Overall, it is a pleasant stay.

The view, the building, the location were all 100%. The pool was freezing but refreshing and I love the convenient shopping and restaurants nearby. The pier is walkable too, so if you want to go travel around Sun Moon Lake, the hotel is very accessible to all of that! I love the old, vintage feel of the hotel and the wood is just so pretty. It does smell pretty wood-y though, so if you don't like that smell, don't come here.

The location is great. Lots of food and shops near by. The view was beautiful- our room had a balcony which overlooked the lake. The carpet in the room was gross and stained, and the wifi only worked sometimes which made it hard to plan the next part of our trip.

Food at the buffet breakfast table not being replenished, quite a few empty trays. Even noticed some guests complaining to the waitresses, who just shrug off. Suggest that if short handed or budget constraint, perhaps the hotel can reduce the varieties or provide round the clock light snack like some other hotels in Taiwan do especially on weekend. Buffet breakfast aside, overall experience was pleasant and close proximity to the pier and shopping street.

Hotel looks a little small / shabby when you walk up to it in daylight, but still looks impressive and given its location of the edge of the lake appears to be th best hotel in this part of sml. The rooms smell strongly woody though, and sound insulation is not great. The rooms are otherwise excellent though. Staff are helpful and sharp. A few speak strong English and the others try hard. Strongly recommend getting a balcony over the lake. It really makes it feel special, rather than just ok. Cable cars are a ten minute walk.

Great authentic wooden cabin!

Nice wooden cabin feel of the hotel makes it stand out from the rest of the hotels in this nature tripping sun moon lake vicinity. Swimming pool was cold as ice. Breakfast was acceptable. Overall nice and clean hotel with very accomodating personnel.

Fantastic stay. Lobby staff gave an introduction to the hotel and its facilities, though the introduction was somewhat lengthly. Room had a fantastic view of the lake. The sauna was a nice place to relax after biking around the lake all afternoon. Hotel staff arranged for a taxi the next day. Excellent stay for the price.

Cozy + unique, no sound insulation, patchy service

We had booked a mountain view double and were upgraded (midweek) to a giant lakeview room with balcony. All staff spoke English well (not the case at their two modern sister hotels). Breakfast was great (if you like Asian food for breakfast), lots of choices and DIY noodles :) The spa/sauna area was very beautiful and modern, pool nice for taking a dip. Strong wifi. The wood gives the place an especially nice atmosphere. Negative points: Our first night was extremely noisy until about midnight, no soundproofing whatsover. Second night was quiet, but light sleepers and larks should look elsewhere. Staff didn't reply to emails in advance and getting in touch after our stay (left a dress in the room) proofed very difficult, too. The free bikes were essentially useless, old, rusty, no gears, locks, light, bell and broken brakes - look elsewhere for your round the lake cycling trip.

Nice to be right on the lake and near the cable car. Hard to get bags up to room as no lift. There are 3 hotels of similar name to double check which one you book. Had a free car park opposite. Borrow bikes from partner hotel for round lake cycling. Shame you can't swim in the lake

luxurious hotel feel

The hotel had a really luxurious feel to it from the moment you step into the lobby, so that was really nice. Carrying the luggages up the flight of steps that lead to the lobby wasn't very convenient though. And no bell boy was around to assist. The breakfast spread wasn't very wide. But the view was great and the hotel had games to entertain my 5 yr old son. So all in, we were pretty contented.

Nice room but overall service is lacking. There is no elevator or lift so with many and heavy luggages, bit of problem as need to climb stairs to the room frm hotel lobby. Nobody from hotel is available to help with luggages everything must do ourselves. It seems that Only 1 receptionist at sight in entire hotel lobby all the time.

Beautiful hotel, food was nice and affordable as far as hotels go. Great location, very close to everything you need, but you end up in a weird kind of lockdown after 5pm, the buses/boats stop working around that time so best bet is to settle in for the night, some shops are open in the village area but there's little to do after 5pm. Beds weren't terribly comfortable but most in Taiwan seemed uncomfortable to us, room was lovely though, no lift though so you want to hope you don't have to be on a higher level, we were lucky to be on lobby level

We can see the hotel from the shuttle boat at pier, we walked just 5 mins.
The room is perfect with lake view, toilet seat is automatic like Japanese style.The decoration and facilities was all complete, there're sauna, hot steam room with hot spring water. i also enjoyed swimming and playing WII game as well as snook.
The hotel staff was perfect and very nice, we needed to check out so early than breakfast time, they offered to make breakfast boxes. they also advised us the direction to the bus station by drawing a map.

I have only one comment about the hotel entrance that there’s no slide pathway for luggage, but staffs helped me to get it up stairs.

There are actually two buildings with the same name. The first is an older chalet, terrible; the second is a modern hotel, quite good. We were first put in the chalet, an old room (516) with no insulation. The noise from the adjacent room was truly unbearable. But the staff reacted nicely to our complaint, and that very night moved us to a room (512) in the nearby hotel, which was quite good (the bathroom is modern, but smallish). So my advice is to be sure of which building you are going to. The hotel(s) are in the aboriginal village, much nicer than the \"modern\" village on the other side of the lake; it makes a good base for all the activities on the lake.

木造建築隔音非常差超級吵，隔壁前房2個小孩追趕跑跳碰，我能清楚聽見媽媽唸小孩每一句話！隔壁後房外國人交談和扣扣敲打聲！樓上咚咚腳步聲！30幾年房內用地毯，明顯看得很多塊污漬，地毯清潔有待加強！飯店前停車位只有10個左右，要停到比較遠的另一個停車場！飯店也沒有電梯，唯一的優點就是湖景早餐算好吃，但強迫客人選07：00-8：30或8：45-10：30早餐時段，時間到需清場很沒彈性！唯一優點每樓層中間大廳湖景優美！這次因為前一天才訂房只能訂這間，沒想到是令人失望的品質！以同樣的房價，下次我絕對會選其他飯店入住！

飯店環境不錯，景觀也很棒，唯一小小缺點是沒有行李坡道和電梯，入住和退房時都要辛苦的把行李搬上搬下，對老人家和身體不夠強壯的人有點挑戰！雖然飯店人員服務都很親切，但入住和退房時卻沒有人幫忙我們拿行李，明明是適合家庭旅行的地方，卻少了一點點對老弱婦孺的體貼，有一點美中不足。

飯店清潔度有待加強,落地窗簾下有毛巾沒有收拾,椅子下方有吃過乾掉的饅頭沒清潔到~~ 廁所算是收拾最乾淨的~~

隔音設備不優,因飯店有先行告知就有心理準備,只是到午夜1點多依舊能聽到隔壁交談聲音,有點影響睡眠品質

很不愉快的入住經驗

1、隔音太差，雖然飯店會一直說這是木頭建造無法隔絕音量，但是如果你躺在床上卻可以清楚聽到隔壁嘻笑、看電視的聲音，也就是說自己房間內發出的聲音隔壁也聽得一清二楚，會讓人住得很有壓力！
2、早餐奇差無比，請對得起貴飯店的房價！
3、請不要一直說你們是33年的飯店，地毯該換的該清潔的、牆壁該清理的，不是一句具有歷史的飯店就可以帶過！

結論不會再入住！

面湖的房間可以跟櫃檯租借釣竿，但感覺餌沒有很好用，小孩倒是很興奮的嘗試釣魚！
房間隔音沒有很好，可能是因為木頭隔間的關係。
附近賣名產的店家應該要再和善一點，後來不喜歡他們就繞道走了！

這一次是家庭旅行，行中沒有長輩。飯店式木屋式的建築，蠻喜歡的。
但有天缺，因為木屋所以隔音差，加上無電梯，就覺得有點可惜。
住房空間蠻棒的，看得出來飯店維持的還不錯，浴室設施算是有翻新過，但有點可惜住到的房間淋浴間的排水有點慢慢，會小小積水然後排掉。
服務人員整體來說很親切，遊戲區的服務人員很貼心，但就是有點小落漆，櫃台租借器材有清點不清楚狀況發生...不過後來就沒事了。

飲食部分，就有點不及格，只想用早餐時段，餐點的內容就蠻一般的，如果可以希望飯店可以再加強這一塊了...

整體住宿體驗是愉快的，希望可以越來越好。
