We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and clean the guesthouse was. The outside looks like a storefront, but the inside is roomy and comfortable. It's a short distance from the Blue Lagoon but not much else is nearby.

Our 3 bedroom apartment at the Reykjanes Guesthouse was clean, spacious, and a perfect “home base” for our trip.
The well appointed kitchen had everything we needed to make a meal or two in, and being just 26 minutes from KEF, with the Blue Lagoon in between, meant very easy arrival and departure days.
From Grindavik, we were easily able to drive to Geysir, Gullfoss, and Thingvellir National Park (with substantial stops at each) in one day, with dinner in Reykjavík.
This was the perfect spot for our trip to Iceland with our 3 boys, 20, 18, and 16.

Signs, signs, everywhere signs.... Signs to wash your dishes, not to pee on the bathroom floor(yes, seriously), check out on time, take off your shoes, etc and a little over priced given the lack of anything else in the area. It is a literal ghost town with only two restaurants.

Good location. It's just unfortunate that the area is a bit dead after the volcano explosion. The place is very spacious. There was more than enough room for eight people and there only three of us. Laundry facility would have been nice since there is none in the area. Overall it was a good lodging. Would book again given the chance.

10 min drive to Blue Lagoon. Easy to find; convenient parking in front of your door. It was my first stay in a guesthouse with a shared bathroom, but there was no need to worry - there were there spotless units complete with showers for two rooms, so there was no issue. The kitchen was excellent, with the full-size fridge and all the amenities. The bed was comfortable, and the room well-ventilated and quiet. I would definitely stay there again!

Perfect for a layover stay!
We had a brief stay, with a layover in Reykjanes. The beds were comfy and it was easy to find from the airport! We stopped at the nearby bakery for breakfast before a visit to the Blue Lagoon and back to the airport.
Communication from the owner was fantastic and quick! We arrived late and left early, but they made it easy for us! I would stay again!

The property is situated in a town that has been abandoned due to the presence of an active volcano. As a result, the area is now a ghost town with no available amenities, and it feels unsafe to stay there given that all former residents have relocated. Additionally, the property's layout is unconventional, as it involves sharing an apartment with another family. While I have stayed in various hostels before, this particular arrangement felt uncomfortable and did not meet my expectations.

We were in room 1 - it was very large. Two sofas three bedrooms three bathrooms and a large kitchen. The warm air hit us as we walked in the door - very nice. No awful sprays or other bad odors. It was just what we needed including a washing machine to clean the baby clothes. I recommend staying here. It is a very practical and comfortable place. Papa’s pizzas and fish and chips is near and has good food. Other sights are close by and not busy.

Spacious but basic converted commercial space
This guesthouse is in a converted storefront, which means it has a lot of space, which is great, but is also a bit awkward (for example, the the massive open shower in one of the bathrooms) and rather shabby (e.g. broken drawer in the kitchen, holes in the bedsheets). It was rather disappointing for the relatively high price and the owners/management are hard to get a response from about questions. It is in easy reach of the airport and the Blue Lagoon, but the town of Grindavik itself is rather gritty.

The place is clean and adequate for a one night stay before heading to the airport. Communication is all done through email and the hosts seemed nice and respond quickly, but you will never see them and they are not present at the hotel. The hotel is listed with 3 stars. Personally, I think that's a little generous. There was body wash and shampoo in only one of the three shared bathrooms. The pillows were so lumpy and should absolutely be replaced. Instructions are left indicating to put your towels in the laundry basket and to wash/dry/put away any dishes that were used during your stay. It had the feel of a hostel rather than a hotel. Maybe this is normal for Iceland, but I think future guests should be aware when booking.

This is dorm style sleeping arrangement with a functioning and well equipped kitchen. One bathroom. Very close to Blue Lagoon, just 20 minutes from the airport. Restaurant/bar next door. Grocery store less than 5 minute drive away. My family of 6 stayed here because it was cheaper than other options; there was nothing spectacular about the place, but I don't have any complaints either. I'd stay here again.

It was spacious and clean. We didn’t meet the owners but their communication was clear. We had one of the very few warm nights in Iceland and weren’t able to open a window or increase ventilation.

We had a great 1 night stay here. There were 7 of us in our group and there was plenty of room! It was a quirky layout but 4 adults and 3 kids were very comfortable. The location was very convenient to both the Blue Lagoon and the hike to the volcano. The airport was about 30 minutes to the airport. We all agreed we would stay there again

The occupiers from the other family room said they’re from New York, but apparently they’re originally from Mainland China. They have the extremely annoying habit of not flushing the toilet. Early in the morning I went into a toilet seeing (and smelling, of course) un-flushed feces! Wow what “New-Yorkers”!
The rooms are very basic! Absolutely no frills, but charged at five-star prices. The curtains leaked light, which affected me badly as I slept on the bed closest to the window.
Fortunately, it was only a sleepover place for my journey. I soon forgot about the rather unpleasant memory overall (and recalled it only upon prompting to write a review).

Can't beat the price for the comfort
The place was extremely clean and had all the necessities for a wonderful weekend trip to Iceland! Check in and check out was very easy. The rooms are very functional and the mattresses were more comfortable here than some nicer hotels I have stayed in. While the bathrooms are shared, there are multiple and each equipped with toilet, shower, and sink. More than this, they were always clean and there was never was a wait to use them. It was nice there was a fridge and microwave available for use. As it is recommended in most places in Iceland, having a car was most definitely useful as it does not seem there is much public transportation in the area. The location is in close proximity to the Blue Lagoon, as well at sightseeing spots like \"The Bridge Between Two Continents\". Lastly, the price-point of this location is extremely fair for what is provided. My two friends and I enjoyed our trip and feel like we stayed in the perfect location. We recommend for anyone on a budget looking for a more than comfortable place to stay.

There are 6 beds to a room and so the property offers good value for money. However for my family it did not suit us. Main reason being that after getting up very early to get the flight we wanted to get an early night. However: the light in our room was also on the same switch as the lounge / eating area and so when the Spanish guys in the next room arrived, somebody had to be in darkness. Two of the duvets smelled as if they had not been cleaned properly and the pictures suggest that there is a cooking hob when there is only a microwave. If you want more hostel than guesthouse then this may suit.

Great place to stay for the sites in the south west. Easy to get to. Apartment perfect for what we want. Perfect for relaxing in the evening. Went to 3 local places to eat. Meals were lovely. Papas do the best burger. Next door do a fab fish and chips. Comunication was great. Hanna is lovely. The beds are very comfy. Slept really well. The only thing i would say is missing, is a toaster. Something quick in the morning. Cant beat abit of toast. Fab holiday. Would def go back...😁
