One of the reasons I booked this place is because it is listed with airport transfer: however, once booked, I was informed there is no such service and to take a taxi. This costs $40 for a 7 min ride. The room is simple and plain, fine for a night's stay. You get breakfast and can order meals and taxis at the hotel across the street, but beware, the waitress tried to rip me off charging me $139 for a burger until I complained. It was \"only\" $37. Iceland is $$$. This place is convenient to airport and blue lagoon.

Group of people from an undisclosed Asian country came in with a large group and “unpacked” for 3 plus hours, leaving all of their doors open so they could more efficiently communicate room to room and sit in the hallway we all shared. The night before wasn’t bad, but that group understood that some folks can’t sleep with loud floor wide conversations going on. I asked front desk to check on it which briefly worked, but your sleep depends on the consideration of who is booked with you…apparently.

Room was very nice as was the bathroom. Breakfast was amazing! Only complaint is others in the guesthouse didn’t adhere to quiet hours. I heard slamming doors, loud bangings from the bathroom and common area as early as 6am.

The guesthouse is literally across the street from the hotel - so going there to check in is no issue.

There is a flight of stairs to access the guesthouse.

Since we arrived at 6am after our flight from the US - reception was kind enough to allow us to do a late check out.

Breakfast was already being served at 6 am so that was also a great bonus.

We stayed at the guesthouse but had access to the wonderful breakfast at the Hotel Keflavík across the street. There were many hot and cold options. The guesthouse is small and quiet with a shared bathroom. It was very clean with everything we needed.

Booked the Guesthouse Keflavik and when I arrived there was a note to check in at the hotel across the street. They offered a room instead in the hotel. That was very kind and a nice option. The room was great had a view of the Bay and the rain. It was nice to have places to sit and drink tea within the hotel. In the evening there were more people for dinner but it was pretty quiet. They kindly stored my backpack the next day while I adventured around and had an afternoon flight out. The taxi to the hotel for the 2.7 miles or so was 4909 isk so the most expensive parts of this trip was the transportation and in winter when it raining its helpful, summer I would’ve walked everywhere as there is a great sea side walking path to the Giantess cave and beyond. The hotel and guesthouse are in great location. Thanks to the very friendly Icelandic historian who checked me and out!

Perfect for solo travel

The best!

This was such a tremendous experience. We arrived before check in and Sunny greeted us and stored our luggage while we explored Keflavík
. Then we asked Adu about scheduling a cab the next morning and asked if we wanted an upgraded room! Of course!
The breakfast was truly one of the best I’ve had at a hotel in quite awhile!

Arrived to the Keflavik Airport around 12:30 at night, took about an hour to hail a taxi and got to Guesthouse around 2 am. Check-in is at the front desk of the hotel across the street, which was very simple.

You go up some steps, open a door, and you are greeted with a hallway with around 10 rooms, 2 bathrooms on the left side that are shared between all the rooms.

The room itself is practically a shoebox. It was clean, looked nice, and the bathroom worked as it should.

However, the only reason I booked this hotel was because I saw that it had a sauna, and since I only had one night in Iceland and wanted to recover after a late journey, I was really looking forward to it.

Finding out that it's in service and has been for a while at the front desk was pretty irritating. Not typically a karen, but when that's pretty much the main reason I selected a place and there was no note anywhere that the sauna is out of service currently, it's very aggravating.

Other than that, breakfast at the hotel across the street (came with the room) was incredible - so much variety, lots of healthy options, coffee machine with multiple delicious tasting grounds.

If you can afford it, Guesthouse is a good option. But be aware - the room is TINY. Even a single hostel bedroom is larger, and those go for half the price.

The breakfast was amazing. We ate during a pretty big earthquake and nothing fell down and we felt safe and the breakfast was delicious. I liked that it wasnt too expensive to travel by taxi to the airport. We walked to the public pool with hot tubs and the Giantess cave. Super clean.

I arrived at 1:00 am for late check in. Per Expedia check in instructions, check in was to be done from front desk staff at Hotel Keflavik. When I went to front desk, no staff present as she had joined wedding party. When we tried to check in, we were informed that Expedia had overbooked our room. We were not able to check in and there were no rooms available. We were told to look for another hotel at that time under the rain with an early morning flight. Most hotels in the area were sold out. We ended up staying at another hotel paying $200 Night for only 5 hours. Worst experience traveling in Keflavik, Iceland.

Disappointing value for money

Even by Icelandic standards, 188GBP for a family room with shared bathroom and four bunk beds (it looks a little bit like a prison cell) is, I think, poor value for money. There are places in the world where you would pay that much for an average hotel room- Paris, London, Dubai, Singapore- but even there, you would expect an en-suite bathroom for this price. We were disappointed.

This guesthouse is well situated close to the airport but they do not offer shuttle service. There are only two bathrooms for six rooms or so, so if they are both taken, you've just got to wait. Not ideal if you're in a hurry to get to the airport. The breakfast was nice but nothing extravagant. I'd recommend staying at one of the many hotels in Keflavik with shuttle service and a private bathroom. There are plenty in the same price range once you factor in the $30 taxi you will have to spend to get to your flight.

We actually stayed at the hotel across the street for an unknown reason. Not sure if they are owned by the same owner but the experience was nice. Breakfast was included and it was the biggest and most comprehensive breakfast I have ever seen worldwide. I personally have visited 131+ countries so that's saying something about their breakfast. Hotel is renovating and we stayed in the older portion but it was just fine. Fireworks extravaganza for the New Years end celebration was just outside of the hotel. Happy New Year!

The hotel looks beautiful but the guesthouse is run down. I was not able to get wifi in my room as advertised. When I asked the front desk they gave me a slip of paper with the password to a wifi network that was not available in the guesthouse. The heater in my room did not work very well and because the cleaning staff left my window open all day, my room was cold as I tried to sleep that night. The rooms are not soundproof, a family was staying in the room next to mine and woke me up several times throughout the night. The best part was having breakfast across the road at the hotel before my early morning flight, but, based on the price, I would stay elsewhere next time for a more comfortable room and sleep.

Great hotel, 5 minutes away from the Airport!

Our stay was great. We were upgraded, free of charge from their Guesthouse to Hotel. The decor in the hotel was very modern and the room was very comfortable. Our stay included a number of extras such as tea and coffee, breakfast in the morning, and a free taxi ride to the airport. At the time of our stay their restaurant was closed for renovations, however, they recommended a few alternatives for us. All in all, we were very happy with our time here. The staff were very nice and it is a great hotel to stay at if you are catching an early morning flight (it only took about 5 minutes by car).

My husband and I spent one night here for a layover before heading on to Germany. It was about a $25 cab ride from the airport. Our room was available and we were able to check in early for ~$90. Breakfast was included in our early check in fee. We checked in at the hotel across the street and the receptionists were very helpful. The breakfast buffet had a variety of hot and cold foods. Our room Was very small and tight with 3 medium to small size suitcases. The bathroom and shower down the hall were clean and always available when we needed them. It was a fine place to stay for 1 night however would become uncomfortable if you stayed here too long. If you’re planning on spending extensive time in Iceland, Reykjavik would be a better place to stay. We walked to Viking world for our day of sightseeing in Keflavík however that is about all there is to do in the town aside from walking along the costal sidewalk.

Front desk staff were fairly pleasant and that's the best I can say for the place. The main hotel looked nice, but the guesthouse was dingy, smelly, and extremely rundown. The bedding was stained and everything was very old and worn. This is coming from someone who goes camping, stays in hostels, etc. and has never checked into a place only to check out immediately thereafter. But it was truly terrible. We left within 5 minutes of arriving and although apologetic, staff has been unhelpful in providing a refund, so we're having to escalate this complaint with Expedia.

Room is comfortable but very small. Only 1 shower and 2 toilets for 6 rooms. Kitchen and common area are small as well. Breakfast is the best we ever had in Iceland and it is served from 5am. Good for 1 night stay if you need to transit the next day or arrive late with 24/7 reception.

We booked at Guesthouse Keflavik which is linked to Hotel Keflavik. Which is where you go to check in. We were given a complimentary upgrade to the hotel which was fantastic. I'm sure that the guest house rooms would be lovely if the hotel is anything to go by. Whether you stay at the guest house or the hotel you will get the amazing breakfast served in the hotel. Highly recommend it.

Very friendly service staff always had a wee chat in the morning at breakfast which on that subject was amazing . Yogurt smoked salmon sandwiches and prawn and egg mayo fresh fruits was among the menu as well as other things didn’t expect this for the price we paid . The apartments were great very clean and everything u would need is supplied.. hopefully we will be back .

I arrived late and left early. I did hear other guests, but I didn't find it any noisier than most other budget motels. I would definitely stay here again when traveling in and out of the airport. The breakfast was very good and started at 5 a.m., which left me sufficient time to get to the airport for an early flight out.

Hotel was excellent but not the guesthouse

When we got their we checked in at the Hotel and was handed a set of keys to a room that was no bigger than a broom closet and had mould on the walls so we went back and complained that my partner had asthma to be handed another set of keys to another damp room we weng back to complain again and they upgraded us free of cost to.a super delux double room whicj was totally stunning with a sea view anx all the amenities anyone could ever want.
Perfect location for Airport but not alot to do unless you enjoy walking which we did.
Geeat location for Northern lights as we saw them every night but do take a camera as phone cameras dont do it justice.

No Bus 55 - walk or shuttle or taxi

I arrived at 7pm and the bus no 55 that should stop 10 minutes from the hotel never shown (waited till 9:30pm). The hotel situated 6 km away. About 1 hour 4 minutes walk.
The shuttle had to be booked 2 hours before departure and can only booked online and only work via certain browser.
Taxi is about $48 Canadian, so I decided to walk. Then I get to the hotel late and I got to upgrade to the hotel instead of staying in the guest house. As a lot of people had mentioned the breakfast is really awesome

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally kind and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious and had a wide variety of options, and started at 5 am, which was great as I had an early flight to catch! The accommodation was good for the price as it included a very decent breakfast and considering how expensive Iceland the breakfast gave you a good start to the day food wise. The room and shared facilities was ok but in all honestly it was a bed for the night and we did have a decent nights sleep. Which was fine by us as it gave us more money to spend elsewhere on our budget. Overall I would recommend this room if you are on a budget but if you like your room to be perfect then this isn’t for you.

Staff very courteous - room conditions relatively clean with shared (hallway) accessible bathroom/shower. I would not stay there with my wife but for a quick overnight or two when I'm there to see the city or for a layover, I would be okay returning.

Listing inaccurate, uncomfortable but clean room

The guesthouse, owned by the Hotel Keflavik, was a poor choice. It smelled so strongly of disinfectants that I got a headache. The wifi didn't work except for one corner in the shared kitchen. The queen bed was made with two twin comforters. Also the phone number on the Hotels.com listing was incorrect and it took me ages to figure out that the guesthouse is owned by Hotel Keflavik. The listing was also incorrect in saying that there is a 24 hour airport shuttle; the hotel covers a taxi ride to OR from the airport, but NOT for those staying in the guesthouse.

Disappointing for the price

They made me sleep in the hotel, in a TV lounge with no bathroom, but a kitchenette. There was a toilet in the corridor, but no shower nor bathtub, so I had to wash myself in the kitchen sink :(. The \"wall\" of my \"bedroom\" was a window with drapes. At 6:00 am, a group a cleaning ladies came to clean the room next to mine, making incredible noise. It was impossible to sleep. They told me \"we have no choice, some client is arriving.\" But the breakfast was really nice, there is a computer room, and it is close to the sea.

We got the key to our room in the guesthouse and when we opened the door, the room was dirty. Obviously, the staff forgot to clean it. From the guesthouse, I went back to the hotel reception and told the receptionist about it. She was very nice and upgraded me to a hotel room, probably because no other clean rooms were available in the guest house. The hotel is old but the bathroom looked very new and nice, the rest of the room was ok. The guesthouse looks ok from the outside but the rooms are extremely basic, kind of like a basic student dorm room. I'm happy we didn't end up in this room. I would not book the guesthouse room again but instead pay more for the hotel room. The breakfast in the hotel was the best I had during the whole week I stayed in Iceland!

Much more basic than I had expected.
The self catering kitchen was a good size but lacked equipment- tiny travel kettle, no toaster, only 2 small hob rings, no oven.

If you like good breakfast, this is for you.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast. The best I ever had in a hotel of that price. Room a bit smelly, and I had not been aware of the shared bathroom.

Be careful - Photos are Misleading

when you look at the site photos, you are given the impression you are staying in the Hotel - Hotel Keflavik. In reality, you are across the road in a smaller building with shared facilities....the Guesthouse. Maybe I was not careful enough. But directly outside our room was a main dining area where people would congregate and talk and eat. We heard them until almost 2 am. I didn't realize that we would be sharing a bathroom, showers or kitchen area. The room was small, in good shape, and served our purpose. I was quite upset at what we got. We stayed one night and on our last night in Iceland, upgraded to a room in the main hotel, which was much better.

Hotel room

Hotel room was on the 3rd floor small and very hot. No A/C in rooms. Beds are narrow and small. Recommend rooms on lower level. Breakfast was wonderful.

Excellent choice of stay for Keflavik Airport

We arrived late at the hotel, due to a late flight (11.30pm) and were greeted in a very friendly and effecient manner. The room was very warm, although slightly noisy from the howling wind outside!!! and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was a huge buffet of cold foods, but an excellent and varied choice. Overall the stay was excellent and we wouldn't have any reservations about staying here again or recommending this hotel to anyone else.

Guesthouse Keflavik-serves its purpose

Stayed here overnight after a trip to the blue lagoon instead of heading back to Reyjkavik. It had a little kitchen and offered breakfast with the rate. Did not have a shuttle to the airport, had to take a taxi. Pretty good deal for an overnight option.
