There are some really great things about Hotel Konvin. The hotel's restaurant and staff is wonderful - great food, great service. The shuttle TO the airport is great, though it's unusual to pay for it. What really did not work for me was the fact that the TV and multiple lamps did not work and it cost me - as a solo traveler going there without a car rental - a $45 USD taxi. That's insane. I get that things are expensive in Iceland, but to spend more to go to an \"airport\" hotel vs travel to and from city center is outrageous. If I do travel to Reykjavik again, I would not stay here. (OH! The walls are crazy thin. I overheard the saddest silliest shortest sex next door.)

Ok hotel for one night stay near airport. We didn’t have breakfast as had read reviews which were not great. For evening food the hotel has restaurant, there is a restaurant (public deli) right next door which also has a small supermarket area - food was good here. Food court nearby too. Plenty of parking. Communal area in hotel quite small.

Modern, with easy (free) parking. Close to airport for an early morning flight. Has a restaurant / bar but there is another one across the car park. Rooms were very dark for some reason even with all the lights on. One of our rooms was also very cold too. Would recommend for location and convenience.

Lovely hotel with very convenient car hire nearby, and the hotel also offers a shuttle service. The breakfast is good, and the restaurant serves very nice dinners. We had ribs and duck—both were great comfort food. The Icelandic drinks taste great, and the water is truly something unique to the country. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

One of the reasons I booked this hotel was it was close to the airport and they had a free shuttle. Well the free shuttle stops at 8:00 am!

The hotel is dated but they appear to be doing extensive renovations.

We needed a place to stay the night before leaving Keflavik Airport and found this total gem. The place was updated and clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, but the menu looked good. I would totally recommend this hotel.

After having our flight to New York cancelled due to blizzards we had to stay overnight at short notice. Chose this hotel for its location, reasonable price and good reviews.

I was not disappointed, friendly staff, great location, modern and clean facilities, large room and modern bathroom. We also ate dinner in the bistro and the food and service was excellent.

It really cheered us up after a stressful day waiting at the airport and flight cancellation. The free shuttle bus to the airport the next day was amazing too.

Room was big, bed was big and comfortable and the staff were brilliant. There is also a really nice restaurant called Public Deli next door. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the location. I had not been to Iceland before and wanted a hotel at the airport for the last night so we didn't have to rush in the morning. The hotel also advertised a free transfer to the airport. In reality the hotel is 7km from the airport and their last shuttle bus to the airport is at 8am. We had a 12 noon flight so it was a bit early. We spent £60 on taxis to the hotel from the airport and then back again. I would've spent that £60 on the hotel that is at the airport of I'd known.

The staff was courteous and efficient. My room was spacious and clean. I also really enjoyed my dinner and the gracious waitress.
I was sorry that I was unable to grab something to go for breakfast when I arrived 10 minutes before closing at 10:00, but I understand. As well, I learned the next morning that I had missed a display of the Northern Lights while there. It would have been wonderful if guests could have been informed.

very clean, when we booked, it noted airport shuttle, but shuttle was very limited, taxi is very expensive for 3.5 km drive 5000 ISK, bus exists, but only during day, and takes 1 hour with change etc, Hotel should step up and operate shuttle at least every other hour when flights are arriving and departing. We had reservation with Konvin Car Rental and thye helped us out with ride back and forth they are right next to Hotel, we worked with Carlos, 5 star service from Carlos at Konvin Car Rental

Front desk was very friendly and helped us check in very early for a fee to get some sleep after a red-eye flight with a toddler. Rooms clean and comfortable, great beds, though some of the furnishings were not super high quality like a towel rack that had been installed a little bit off so it kept coming apart.

Breakfast wasn't a highlight. The food just wasn't so tasty and really quite expensive considering the offering, though the service was fine and the dining area very nice.

After we booked this property, we found out that the shuttle didn't run in the evening. We booked this property and rented a car through the hotel so we would have the convenience of a close hotel, but unfortunately had to pay for a taxi from the airport, which was about $50 USD. The beds were not pushed together at the hotel despite us requesting that, and we arrived too late at night to move them. The hotel was clean, but the additional cost removed any value added by staying at this discount hotel. The hotel bar was also very overpriced, even for Reykjavik. 2 well cocktails came to $60 USD. Staff were friendly, room was fine, there are just better options in the KEF area.

The staff were lovely, and the property is new, but the room was so dark. The ceiling and walls were painted dark gray, and the lighting was minimal and dim. Highly recommend the property put more lights in the rooms, and repaint a light colour. With only 6 hours of daylight in winter as it is, a cave like room was not enjoyable.

We booked this hotel because it said it had an airport shuttle. We found out after we booked via an email that the shuttle only ran until 10am. We arrived at 5pm. This cost us a $50 CDN taxi ride. We are coming back to Iceland and will not use this hote.

A bit away from the airport, but they did have a shuttle service (free- 4am, 5am, 540am, 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am). Otherwise it’s #55 bus or cab to the airport). Check-in 2pm, and they let us in at 130 which was great. Rooms are large, kettle and coffee (nespresso) in the room. The lighting leaves much to be desired, it’s quite low, so I hope we didn’t leave anything behind!
Next door to Public Deli (restaurant and store - go for the lunch special if you’re there at that time). Didn’t partake of the hotel happy hour or their restaurant.
Fine for a one night-before the-airport stay.
Free parking.

It’s clean, not far from the airport. They do advertise “soundproof” rooms. And, that is not true at all. You can hear everything from every surrounding room, the hall, above you, below you, next to you. It’s almost as if there were no walls at all. The shuttle only goes to the airport and not from it. That’s an important distinction. There is early check in-for a fee. The “restaurant” is a refrigerator with premade food. It’s convenient for an early morning flight, just bring ear plugs.

The best thing I enjoy about the hotel was its distance from the airport, available Wifi and the airport bus transfer from the hotel the the airport.
The hotel was quite expensive, including the breakfast. There was an almost empty, used bottled with minimum soap at the hand sink, next to the toilet, and no soap in the shower, to take a shower. The toilet seat was loose, moving from side to side, making sitting on it quite uncomfortable. I understand that everything in Iceland is expensive, but I do not think I would want to stay at this hotel again. This hotel was even more expensive than Dubai International hotel, and did not even have the basic bathroom amenity, such as soap.

We had a good stay at the Konvin Hotel. It is conveniently located near the airport with a shuttle, making it easy to get there with luggage.
The front desk staff were very helpful, and the dining staff in the restaurant very friendly. The rooms were spacious and can easily accommodate a couole with 2 children. We did not have children so there was more than enough room. The hotel is about an hour from the city of Reykjavik, so explore the city before heading to the hotel.
It does provide value for money spent

A great hotel with a great restaurant.

It was my second stay after I previously visited last year. Dinner was lovely in the restaurant and cooked to a high standard. Similarly breakfast buffer was very good offering a range of options. Staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms were smart, clean and very well presented. Bed was very comfortable but had to ask for extra pilllows but these were quickly supplied. Coffee and tea was also supplied in the room. Shower was lovely and hot and had excellent pressure. My only gripe was the room was a bit on the cold side and appeared to have no heating. Plenty of parking and located to a relatively short distance to the airport. Would highly recommend this hotel over Hotel Berg as we had a very dissatisfied stay on our last night so wish we had booked another night here at Hotel Konvin.

The room was so dark we couldn't see anything around. l Ateast they should provide extra lighting if we want. I lost my contact lens in the bathroom and no way to find because it was so dark. No tissues or Kleenex, we paid $300 and this is what we got. the staff was friendly and tried to help, my message is to the management, please do give more light in the rooms. I had to wear my glasses after I lost my contact lens. My friends are visiting soon. Hope they will find more light in the room and bathroom.

Property is located on old US Air Force Base and close to airport. Only stayed one night. Had dinner in their Cafe and it was good. Prices comparable to other area eateries, plus they did give a discount to guests staying on property. Rooms were a good size. There also is a morning shuttle to the airport if needed.

The property listed shuttle service to airport. It turned out that had to pay to get to hotel and that was 40 dollars. Shittle service was available essentially once a day and they pretended that they were setting it up just for us. I wanted tobrent a car and person doing check in would not even give me a slip of paper with a number to call.i wasted hpursvlooking for transportation to reijkevi. Everything was pverpriced and i felt ripped off. Don't stay here.

Hotel near an airport, not an actual airport hotel

This is a simple Icelandic hotel near an airport. It is not an actual airport hotel and should not be booked accordingly, consider something in the city since you will have to take a cab anyway. There is a shuttle but it is sporadic so we took a cab at our cost. No you cannot walk to the airport like a typical airport hotel at this price. The restaurant closes early so enjoy cold, old, pricey gas station sandwiches if you are stuck after 10 pm. No gym, tiny bathroom, no mini fridge, freezing rooms with a single blanket per bed European style. Staff is nice enough when they are there.

Konvin Hotel, not your best choice.

We were misled by the \"Keflavik Airport\" since it was a $60 taxi ride to the hotel. There were 4 single beds in the room each with a comforter and pillow but the comforter did not stay on the bed at night so we were constantly adjusting the covers. Many of the fixtures were not plugged in which left us crawling under shelves to find an outlet. One must read the \"airport shuttle\" carefully, it is only to the airport and only from 4 to 10 AM

Overall the hotel is newly renovated and is nice and clean. Modern decor. My main issue is the lighting on the room and bathroom. very dim and poorly lit. It’s like they used 40 watt incandescent bulbs when they should have used 100watt. The downlighting in the bathroom nice but without a main overhead brighter light, you are basically staring at yourself in the dark. The food at the restaurant was good. The portions were moderate. The restaurant staff was nice.

Upon check in, the Konvin did not honor the Expedia rate. They told me to contact someone via email for help with this, but I have yet to receive a response (two weeks later). I was sick for three days after eating the very expensive breakfast. This hotel was incredibly expensive, even by Icelandic standards, but offers zero frills.
