The room was not very clean. I questioned whether it had fresh sheets on it or not. There was hair and stuff in the bottom of the tub, and generally, the room was not very clean.Windows had been smudged, the light fixtures were broken.The beds were lumpy other than that.The room was the room period went to breakfast at seven thirty.There was one family in there.There was some hot biscuits, the gravy was old.The sausages there was one in the container.No one maintaining the operation.The coffee was so strong.I would say it was left over from yesterday.

There was not much variety at breakfast, hardly saw anyone else eating. Sweeper had not been run in our room cheese on floor, no toilet paper in room had to run someone down to get it. We had a storm first night and rain blew in and carpet got wet on edges.

I didn't stay; my rating has nothing to do with the hotel. My disappointment is the fact that meetings I had scheduled got cancelled and I was not able to get a refund due to the fact of issues happening beyond my control. A 24-hour advance notice of cancellation, I didn't even have a reservation prior to the scheduled 3/6/26 stay. Your policy only favors Hotel.com not the customer. Extremely disappointing that I paid and never stepped foot in the hotel. I will never use Hotel.com for booking a reservation ever. In the future I will go directly to the hotel. Needless to say, any reviews or social media that I chose will be a very negative review about Hotel.com. I can't believe you're company policy is boarding despicable.

Website says breakfast in restaurant but on first morning they just had bagels in the restaurant and on second morning (a Saturday) the restaurant was closed and there was clear plastic bin on the check in counter with some type of bread.
Room was what you would expect from an older Super 8 or similar. Bed cover had brown stain as did box spring skirting.
When my key stopped working on day 2, no one was at the front desk and I waited 6-7 minutes from someone to come after calling and ringing bell.
You know what you are getting with a Days Inn or Super 8 or similar but this places tries to dress it up from the street view but the back is just a super budget motel with a restaurant that appears to be a side hobby.

Had to wait a few minutes for staff to arrive at front desk but he was very kind. When entering our room, I was instantly disappointed in the stench - smoke/dampness/pet. I contacted front desk and he offered to come “spray” the room. I asked if he had another room available that didn’t smell like that, and he apologized and said he did not. The chair in the room was so icky, I didn’t even sit on it to take off my shoes. It looked as if someone had sprinkled carpet freshener on it while damp.
I chose this hotel because it had the highest star rating in Charleston Illinois, but I’m not sure if those stars were accumulated during previous ownership, or if the other hotels in town are just that much worse.
Definitely would not stay here again.

Horrible doesn’t begin to describe it. The only good thing I have to say is we didn’t see any bugs. To start off, the room keys did not work consistently, requiring one of us to traipse back to the check in desk twice in a 19 hour stay. The room was 60 degrees when we arrived. The door would not lock unless you slammed or pulled it. There was dirt in the corners of the floor and, to top it off, the floor of the shower was streaked black with dirt that looked as if no one even tried hard to clean it. Do yourself a favor and buy a tent and sleep outside before staying here.

The first room they gave me was smelly then they gave me a second room on the second floor 225 where the lights wasn’t working and then I tripped up the stairs with the stairs is broken outside as you go in before getting into the room, I reported it to the desk so I can get a cancellation of my stay because they also put me away in the back in the back of the hotel, where there was no cars it looked deserving. Everybody else was booked in front of the hotel so that was a major red flag to me, as well as tripping over the broken stairs.

First, they wanted to charge me for checking in half an hour early. Second, they did not replace the hair dryer that I had reported as non-working. Third, I had a random knock on my door from a staff member \"just checking in\" during the evening. And finally, they knocked on my door at 10:20am asking if I was checking out (when check out wasn't until 11). Will not stay there again.

They told us they didn’t have the room that we booked with two beds, they also said that we were not booked in until November 3 contrary to what the confirmation paper said that I had. The room is not well taken care of at all dirt on the inside of the door, neglected furnishings and rug. I would never stay here again and only had to stay cause there was no other place available in town.

Cleaning crew is a little lax. Lots of spider webs and the TV did not work. They did fix that issue. They have a single serve coffee maker in the rooms but parts we missing so was unusable. Parking was great. Overall my experience was pretty good. Will probably stay there again next time I am in town.

Outdoor pool and naan!

Staff very friendly.
Check in a breeze . Gave me a room where I wanted. Pool was excellent. Lots of sun. Hotel is nice and quiet. No scumbags, party types or loud \"urban\" types to make noise all night.
Also the Mint Indian restaurant in the lobby is EXCLELLENT. Their naan bread is some of the best I've had. Made in a tandoor oven so that tells you. The bar in the lobby is good. New bar staff so be patient. All in all a nice weekend getaway from work.

Charleston area. Has an outdoor pool. Big parking area. Beds are small (like smaller than a full size but a little bigger than a twin) but comfy. Doors on the outside. Room was clean. Water doesn’t drain real fast in the shower or sink. That was kinda inconvenient waiting 10 minutes for the water to drain before the next person could shower. Fridge and microwave in the room. Brick House restaurant sucked- 3 of us showed up. Only one table was occupied but the server spent 10 min talking to them. I went up to the other two servers who were sitting down eating. They said “she’ll be right with you.” Instead of offering to help us. I asked for a menu- they don’t have menus, our waiter will tell us the specials. By this point we hadn’t been offered any drinks, no service, no menu- we left. Breakfast is complimentary, but wasn’t great. The hotel is situated on the outside of town, not real close to any eating establishments. We won’t be staying here again.

I thought this was going to be an excellent property coming from a 3 hour drive. The television stopped working after a couple of hours of checking in, we called the lobby multiple times so they can reset the DirecTV system but nobody answered. The shower can be misleading. The shower sprinkler did not work at all. Will not be staying here again.

I picked this place due to the outdoor pool and having a bar and grill attached. The pool itself was ok and had nice chairs but the pool deck had leftover clothes for 2 days, no pool towels the first day and the garbage can was overflowing. The bar and grill had been closed for renovations and should have been made clear before reserving a room. Rooms need updated. You had to absolutely slam the door to get it to close right. Staff was not professional and hard to find when we had a problem or a question. Unless there are some major changes I would not recommend staying here.

Our night was interrupted by the neighboring occupants. The had a physical fight in front of our door at 3am. When we went to the front desk in the morning no one was there. No one was at the desk when we checked out either. After being told they would refund the night of the fight, they still charged us for it. Won’t stay there again.

Overall me & my family enjoyed our stay. The AC wasn’t as strong as we would have liked & the bed was smaller than I imagined. It was soo hot in the lobby & we had to wait to check in. But the pool was really nice & the property was well kept. I would stay again.

This property has recently changed owners. At this time, they no longer offer coffee makers in the rooms. They also don't provide a continental breakfast. It is now a grab and go consisting of bagels and two choices of cereal. The Brickhouse restaurant is closed as well.
However, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean.

False advertisement! When we booked it said the property had a restaurant/lounge on site, pool and hot breakfast. When we arrived to check in we were told it was under “ new ownership” and that the pool was closed along with the restaurant/lounge. We were told that breakfast would be a “cold” breakfast of just muffins. Rooms were very dirty and smelled. The room had a very dirty dehumidifier in it that was not running. We actually had to go get dinner since the restaurant was closed and when we returned we decided not to stay at this hotel. We were told that since we checked in 3 hours earlier they would not refund any of our money.

No coffee or coffee maker in the room. 👎 The cleanliness coykd have been much better BUT I'm guessing the pay isnt based on performance. Ultimately $100 was a bit much in my opinion.

Restaurant and bar are closed and have been for over a year, which is not as advertised. Doors and floors are filthy in the rooms. Most importantly the walls are SO thin and you can literally see light from adjoining rooms under your door, so you hear EVERY word people are saying. People five rooms down were so loud that we left and found a better hotel (Hilton in Mattoon).

Great hotel....lackluster breakfast

Overall, my stay was great. The young lady at check was super friendly and nice! My room was clean and everything was in working order. The only thing that was upsetting was the breakfast. The only thing that was offered was bagels and cereal. Outside of the breakfast, I enjoyed my stay.

Restaurant is closed. There's no coffee maker in the rooms. Breakfast is cereal and cheap pastries which is sad since they use the restaurant area and obviously have access to ways of providing some hot breakfast options. It is a quiet area. Staff was nice.

When we got to the room and checked the bathroom, it didn't have a shower curtain. We reported it very quickly and they told us they would come when they could. They never came. Then I called around 4:00 in the morning to see if they could bring the curtain before we showered, but nothing happened. The air conditioning didn't work very well either. I was a little disappointed since it's a clean and comfortable hotel near the university.
