To start with, the staff and their support were excellent. However, things start falling apart when it comes to the maintenance and the overall cleanliness of the property. Breakfast is provided, but it's in the basement in a very small room and is congested. If not for the staff, I feel I wouldn't have given it 4 stars at all!

The hotel was clean, space-y, and comfortable. The location was perfect since it’s a 5 minute walk from bus stops and the metro. However, at night the pubs around us got very loud and they woke us up the first night. But the second night the hotel management upgraded our room to the last floor, and we no longer heard the noise the second day. From that day everything was perfect and i really loved the view from the top floor. Thank you! This is an hotel i would definitely come back to if i go back to Istanbul

What I understood from the reviews I read on Hotels.com did not match reality. The hotel was ok to stay in to be close to Taksim Square but it was not very clean and breakfast was just ok.

The property is not at all as advertised on expedia so do not be fooled to book based on how it looks in images. As you enter the reception, is is small and filled with smoke smell, the lift hardly fits 2, the rooms are filthy and have smell of smoke, if you suffer from breathing issues you can not last in this hotel for too long.
Our room has left over stuff from previous visitors and floors were dirty and filthy. Bedsheet torn and dirty towels in toilets.
We booked the hotel for three days but could not last there for too long and checked out the very next day. The hotel is not accommodating in issuing a refund so be mindful if you plan booking this hotel. Also its not family friendly, when we returned back to room after dinner, the lobby was blocked by 2 men and there was a party going on in the suite next to lobby.
Br very careful when you book this hotel, we were deceived by the images and reviews on expedia.

The staff was helpful, and the location is walking distance to Taxim Square. The room was very dirty and unkept. The minibar was not working and I had to ask them to bring toilet paper. Defiantly not worth the money. There are much better hotels around for the same or even less. Don't be fooled by the high reviews as the reviews are mainly for the staff of the hotel- who were really nice.

the hospitality, the staff, and their attitude were great. the hotel location is difficult to find using the GPS for the first time, but overall, it's near to Taksim with a 4 min walk. it is also near to bust station (HAVAIST bus) to go back to the airport. the airconditioning was good, but it has a weird voice which made perfect sleep impossible. the cleanness of the room needs to get better.

Room and bathroom are rather large. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Toilet bowl seat/lid is a sham, totally can't fit in so had to remove the whole thing to use the toilet bowl. Housekeeping should ensure that the tabletops are properly wiped as dirt shows easily on the glass; I'd to wipe down with wet tissues myself. Need better lighting at vanity desk.

Hotel location is great, rooms are very nice and big enough for a place in this location. Above all what made the stay better than other places was the staff, from the manager to the bellboy everyone went the extra mile to make us comfortable. I was travelling with two kids and had a 10 min walk to the bus stop with two big bags the manager was so nice that he sent one of the staff with me to help with the bags. If you are looking for a good location and want to be in center of Taskim and then this is certainly the place to stay with very good customer service. just be mindful it is not a highend hotel so if you are looking for the something highend with a big buffet breakfast then this is not a place for you. The breakfast was good but not lavish some even say basic but we didnt mind.

Istanbul is worst city you can visit. It fall dawn since 2009, now all refugees transform the city to one of the most dangerous area ..and taksim is the worst area there , not safe not for family . Hotel area not good and not safe .Hotel too small . If you want to visit Istanbul which is not great idea , you can in sultan Ahmet hotels you can find good deal ...

Won’t repeat staying at same hotel again

Overall i didn't like the stay there the staff who was on duty when we reached was very rude we did not like his behavior, next day when we asked for cleaning the room they said it’s not possible after 3.00 PM.
We requested tissue from afternoon till night when we were back to room it has not been provided.
At check out they were admitting that we used stuff from the room bar, and we didn't touched anything. They made us feel as we are thieff if we can affordpayingg for our stay idon'tt think that paying for small things will matter with us.
The breakfast place is so small it's difficult to adjust having meal with many people at that room the service was very bad the table wasn't clean, my fork was not clean I felt vomiting and couldn't eat anything. The other days Idid nothaved my breakfast there.

The staff were great! My fiance and I stayed at this property for 2 weeks, They treated us so well! Everything was great, If I had to say something i dislike, It would be the noise from the place across the street, they played music all night long until 6am, but it didnt bother us one bit. This property is walking distance to the bus station, tram station, taxim square and a few other places. Everything you need is near here!

Great location, metro. Istikla street just a few meters walk from the hotel. Galata tower and the harbour are in the surrounding area too.
Staff at taximist hotel are amazing. Special thanks to Ferhun BIBER the manager. His great sense of humour and warm personality made my stay one of t the best for the last 8 years I've been travelling around Turkey. So thank you guys. See you soon.

An overall rating is on average or below the average, no iron in room but provided when requested and they asking you to return it after finishing every time.
AC is controlled by the receptionist or technicians, you cannot modify the temperature or fan speed, you can only turn it off, and sometimes they turn it on by themselves.
Breakfast is cold breakfast with Nescafe machine.
Sevice guy (kanaan) was very kind while the other one wasn't.

The room I had was like a large studio and very spacious and comfortable. It is near everywhere and right around the corner from the shuttle to the airport. The only odd thing about the hotel is the walk way to the room. It is like a maze - not far but terraced so rolling the luggage around is not the easiest. The staff helped me when I checked in but I had to do it myself when I checked out because it was very early, Besides that the stay was good... very comfortable bed and room.

I highly recommend the hotel!
The staff are very friendly
The hotel is 5 minutes away from Taksim square and rooms are very clean.
It's not a big hotel but the service is excellent, you will feel as if you are at home.
The manager speaks English fluently.
The breakfast is very good with variety of choices but it's almost the same everyday and i'm ok with this, the only disadvantage is that the breakfast area is small but you will always find a place to sit down and eat.
The internet speed is very good all over the place even in your room!
Hot water is always available
The manager Ferhun was very helpful and gave us a lot of information during our stay (He has a good sense of humor too).
Special thanks to the staff Kenan & Yilmaz for their excellent service, and for being so friendly and helpful.

Taximist hotel has a great value of money.
I had to book this hotel at the last minute since we decided to extend our stay in Istanbul on the day we planned to leave. Unlike my worries, everything we needed was ready in the room. Cleaning service was also fine.
The staffs were absolutely nice, and helpful.
Breakfast was not very good.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay.
