Very nice hotel. On the lower range of a 5 Star property and so they go the extra mile to show they are worth it. Stayed with a group and we had an excellent time here. Very nice property, if a little off the beaten path.

I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The manager, Mahmoud, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He outright refused to let us bring any food or drinks from outside—even though other nearby hotels had no issue with it. This ridiculous policy left us with no choice but to eat their overpriced and mediocre food. We weren’t even allowed to save leftovers for later! The lack of flexibility and basic hospitality was shocking. This place clearly cares more about squeezing money out of guests than offering a welcoming or comfortable experience.

Whilst this property has a few things that would benefit from tidying up, or modernising, and the dining options are limited, it is the team themselves who make this a great stay and a really good, reasonably priced, conveniently situated hotel in Aqaba.

The team at this hotel, and especially the management, are well spoken, polite, supportive, and prepared to go every extra mile that they can to support their guests.

There is a good level of English language spoken for non-Arabic speakers, and every action is focused on providing comfort and support wherever possible.

For higher prices, there are invariably more glamorous choices in Aqaba, but these are often noisy, and hectic, with little time for individual focus.

At the Oryx, every guest was the focus, treated like friends visiting rather than people passing through.

Nothing was too much trouble, and I would happily recommend it as a terrific reasonably priced option for a stay in the area.

Freindly, safe and helpful

I ended up having to extend my stay and chose Oryx. Very high level of service, excellent breakfast, everyone very attentive. Sliding glass door to balcony needed the lock repaired; was fixed in 10 minutes with a call to the front desk. All in all a very good experience there. Would reccomend.

From the door when I first arrived, the security came to check my belongings, it was ok for me since it is for safety. But when checking in the front desk, the reception employee told me that food is not allowed to come in to the hotel from outside. This must be informed before the reservation was confirmed, not after midnight check in.

This was a fantastic stay, and it was my first time there. The people were extremely helpful, spoke excellent English, and made me feel very welcome. The rooms were tremendous and the bed was very comfortable, so I got really good rest. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the amenities or what I would expect at a hotel like this, as they were excellent

This is a really nice, upscale hotel located about half a mile from the seafront in Aqaba. The photographs on the website don't do the hotel justice - the lobby and reception are beautiful. Service was good and the staff are friendly. The restaurant offers a buffet dinner for around $15 JOD/each and alcohol is available in the hotel . There are car parking spaces at the front the property which are free of charge. The room was pleasant with a large balcony overlooking the city.

I have been one night in Oryx hotel,as I was traveling alone I needed to have a hotel to help me for booking the buses for Wadi rum and Petra.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, I did my check in with Mr Fadi and he helped me with booking the bus and my question.
Also after checking out, I needed to use the room again and the manager of hotel let me in.Super service.
I appreciate a lot.

Let me start with pointing out that the staff at this hotel are exceptional, very helpful and friendly.
We booked connecting rooms, & when we got there we found hair here and there, so when the manager asked the next day if everything was ok, we informed him about it. We were super impressed how they handled it. The manager who is responsible for housekeeping clearly was disappointed to hear that and wanted to meet us in person and make sure they meet our expectations (apparently he is a consultant from abroad who joined the hotel recently).
Later, when we came back to our rooms after a beach time, we found not only super clean rooms, but also we were so surprised to see rose petals all over our bed and towel swans, it might be a small thing, but definitely made our day! For the rest our stay they kept asking if there was anything else they could do for us, they truly managed to make us feel special throughout the stay. They also helped us to find a driver from Aqaba to Wadi Rum at a very reasonable price.
If to be completely honest, to meet 5 star hotel standards, they require a little cosmetic renovation to freshen up, but they told us that they are aware of it and working on it, so thats good.
They also had a belly dance every night from 9-10pm that we enjoyed very much.

We would like to say special thanks to Mohd Shobaki and
Nep, you guys went above and beyond and our experience at Oryx Hotel was definitely a highlight of the whole Jordan trip.

It was horrible. The smell of the room reeked of cigarettes, the pool was extremely disappointing and small, and was filled to the brim with kids, the jacuzzi didn’t work, the hotel smelled like paint, the lock on the bathroom door was broken, we asked them multiple times to fix the smell of the room and they said they would but they never came. I have NO IDEA how they are rated 5 stars. Do not recommend coming here.

Visiting Aqaba with friends

This is a great value for money hotel. Very spacious and clean rooms. Our city view was amazing, specially in the night. The balcony was big enough to enjoy the view from our room. Breakfast and dinner buffet was tasty and there were many options to choose from. Internet connection was working with no issues. Location not very near to the centre but I would definitely go back :-)

I did the reservation for a friend of mine going on a business trip to Aqaba and when he arrived to the hotel he had a rude talk with the security guy there at the reception, the head of security later called me and threatened to beat up my friend for saying things he did not say, so my friend never went back to the hotel and we reserved a room in another hotel.

The hotel was very nice, and service was great from the front desk manager, but we had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was not very good. Service was horrible in the restaurant. We never could get coffee in the morning.

Everything was great until my buddy and I wanted to bring food inside our rooms. Apparently It is not allowed because “people have died eating in their rooms.” That’s what they told us. There was back and forth going on and they didn’t want to allow it. It was about 3-4am as well. They made us sign waivers to be able to bring food inside the rooms which all they had to do was print out. Waivers were there yet they decided to go back and forth with us. That experience could have been handled by giving us the waivers from the start. Aside from that, staff were nice and great overall.
