Good budget option hotel

Budget hotel in the heart of Aqaba. You get what you pay for. If you look for luxury - this is not your hotel. It looks and feels like it hasn’t been re-innovated for a long time, but rooms are clean and big. Friendly and helpful staff, quick check in and out. We stayed there first night and we came back again at the end of our trip. Also great location, next to a lot of restaurants and things to do.

They mention breakfast as if it's free, but there's a hidden charge at checkout. The breakfast is hard boiled eggs, and some pita bread.Cost was more than $12.

Had to change room because the suite they provided was not secure--bedroom w/balcony would not lock.

The hotel's porter was awesome though--good service from him.

Skip their breakfast, pay in cash to avoid an almost 6% markup for using a debit/credit card.

Hotel Qidra - nice place mid-Aqaba (downtown)

Great place (Aqaba downtown, restaurant streets very near), fast working staff, large room - really large, well equipped and w/balcony. Bathroom - no complaint. All systems - working well. Having said all this, breakfast was good but sooner decent than fine (choice of food items was quite restricted). Overall, I am happy and will return when necessary.

The apartment was very spacious and well located. Staff was very helpful without being pushy. The overall space feels a bit worn. There was a sink and fridge in our room but the ‘kitchenette’ did not include any real way to prepare meals. I would reccomend but with reservations.

Cheap in all respects

The hotel is rated 7th on Trip Advisor of all hotels in Aqaba but I don't understand why. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the sheets and towels are clean but that is as far as the positives go. It is very old and shabby, only a few of the plug sockets in the rooms work and the bathroom sink was so chipped it would have won a shabby chic competition. If you're on a budget and are just after a bed for the night it's ok, but otherwise I'd find somewhere else to stay.

Good value

The hotel is right in the middle of downtown, so a bit noisy but a great location. And only 10 minutes to the beach. The room wasn't the cleanest or nicest but it was spacious and there was a nice patio. It's definitely a \"budget hotel\", but there was wifi and breakfast so it was a good value for what we paid.

Rated top choice by traveler on TripAdvisor for many times. I don't feel I need to contribute more - convenient location, clean and spacious room with good lighting. Outside is the restaurant circle - local or international food (including fast food from US). 12 min walk to public beach. Internet works well in the lobby and occasional disruption in the rooms. Breakfast not the most impressive but other aspects are great.

Staff were mostly helpful - We found after we left that they didn't tell us about a rebate you can get back after visiting Petra which was a little disappointing, as Petra costs an arm and a leg to visit these days. Also, the bath was broken in our room. Also, if you ask reception to order you a taxi, beware. The taxi driver who is one of their favourites has terrible service. He is very slow, and makes frequent personal stops, and doesn't listen to what you ask him to do unless you get very cross with him.

Room was not clean, problems with shower and plumbing problems, air condition make a high annoying sound, TV was not working, sofa have fire burns everywhere, dust everywhere in the room, i couldn't stay for one night so i changed the hotel after the first night.

After (almost exactly) 3 year I came back to them with a friend (he booked the same type of room) based on my recommendation and referral.

My experience (apart from my friend's experience) was a bit less happier than the last time, where services were not as great as I have experienced 3 years ago (same season).

Breakfast especially, where tea is served colder than warm (not yet cold) thyme served without olive oil, no more falafel or foul (beans), where I go to Jordan specifically to have a taste of these famous local food, and they used to be served as per my previous visit.

On the positive side, Staff are helpful, they try to keep your stay pleasant (especially the non-Jordanians) where I felt ignored when I attempted to approach the 1 Jordanian staff member.

Another good thing is that they've recognised me and upgraded my room to a balcony room (of the same type) where I do like it, despite the extractor fan hoods noise of their neighbouring club.

There no unexpected costs, all is clear and transparent, and checkout experience was pleasant too.

Though my friend's experience did vary from mine (due to non-operation or noisy air conditioner) but I base my review on my experience.

Hope they can improve, or at least go back to what they used to be, would like to be there again.

Good location hotel in Aqaba.

Al Qidra Hotel has a good location in the centre of Aqaba city for a short stay where everything you need are around you. I guess the 3rd floor in the hotel is the quietest and the best. The bathroom is dull and not well lighted with low pressure of water. There are many good restaurants, cafe and bars around you and within walking distant. In general the hotel is good and have nice service.

Worst hotel I've been to out of 55 countries

Brought to the room and TV wouldn't work . Guy came to to the room three times and it would work only for a few seconds for him . They changed my room and the TV was broken in the second room . I was then moved to a third room which was a smoking room and it had cigarette burns on the furniture . I specifically stated non smoking room. TV worked but the wifi wouldn't work unless I stood in the corridor outside . I complained and the lady at the front desk was completely disinterested . They then moved me back to the first room with no TV . No apology and staff couldn't care less . Hotel is old and shabby and dirty . Found hairs on the bed . Worst hotel I have ever been in anywhere in the world . Avoid !

Everything in the room smelled of smoke. The towels, the bedding, the pilows. It felt like sleeping in an ashtray.
There is no beach access, you need to pay to get on a bus that leaves once a day for a beach 30 mins away.
Moreover, it was really hot and the AC leaked on the pillow. I woke up to a pillow soaked in water.
The staff was really friendly and tried to make it feel like a 5-star hotel.

nice little spot in a good part of town.

We stayed here for two nights and found it to be quite nice. The staff were very helpful, particularly the woman who works at the front desk. She arranged for us to do the glass bottom boat at the Berenice Beach Club. Finding the hotel took a couple tries. The GPS didn’t recognize it, but it did recognize the Days Inn that is literally right across the street. We parked on the street the whole time we were there and never had a problem finding a spot.

Room was very nice and clean, I’d say it’s a little nicer than a hostel accommodation, but nothing fancy. We also had a cute little balcony off our room. WiFi only worked in the hallway and the lobby reliably. It would work intermittently in our room.

This is my second stay at Al Qudra. I really like it there as an overnight stop off when travelling back from Israel. The rooms are comfortable and staff are really lovely. I have stayed at other hotels in Aqaba in the same price range and this is definitely better.

A little local gem.

This is a modest hotel in the \"hotels area\" of Aqaba, close to many good restaurants, small shops, and the older downtown establishments. Amenity is quite good for visitors, but none of the pampering or primping of the larger international chains which operate on the beaches. A good breakfast is included, good staffing, fine location. A small gem, really, and nicely priced.

Exceeded expectations. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. They looked after me (single female, lost luggage, ATM issues) Thanks Gemma, Abdullar and the rest of your team! Made me feel very comfortable and well looked after. Gemma even followed up with me after I left to help me get my luggage back. Housekeeping would say thank you for a small tip by leaving towel creations on your beds - swans, flowers, etc. My room was massive, overlooking the front of the hotel - aircon and tv all worked well. Other reviews complained about the noise. I was there for 5 nights and found it quieter than other places recently stayed. Neighbourhood is very nice I felt very safe walking around, even after dark. Everyone in Aqaba as a whole was very, very friendly and genuine - as I found elsewhere throughout my whole Jordanian trip. The map at the tourist centres has the street marked as being nice to visit - and it is. Just a few doors down are lots of restaurants. Early morning you can get a takeaway coffee from a guy just round the corner who heats the coffee up in hot sand - it is really cool to watch. The snorkling at the beach resort was good - was better than the day I went snorkling on a dive boat. Make sure you get out and talk to the locals - they are interested in finding out about you - not pressuring you to buy like some other places. And you cannot leave without checking out the Castle - a young local showed me around inside and it was one of the highlights of my Jordan trip.

Depends on the room...

I stayed here with two friends en route to Petra after my husband and two friends stayed here previously while traveling. Their room was excellent and they recommended it for our trip as well. Upon check in we were taken to a room that was updated and had a great shower/bathroom, but it was a smoking room. When we requested a non-smoking room they were quickly able to change our room, but the new room was not the same standard as the first one. It seems they are in the process of updating the rooms but not all have been done yet, so the experience will depend on which room you are in. The staff were all wonderful and could not have been more helpful or welcoming - good experience overall.

The room was spacious and pretty clean. and the breakfast was pretty good. The downside was the price. It was nearly double the price of the other hotels we stayed in during our trip to Jordan and I don't feel like we got anything extra for it. Next time we visit Aqaba we'll look for another hotel.

In the middle of the Down town district

First time stay at an acceptable, basic services hotel, with a very accommodating English speaking front desk staff. parking was on the street in front of the hotel, that was not reserved, which made it difficult on a weekend night in this district on the nights with the partying and such going on in the area, after dark, such as any other downtown district one would experience. Although staying on an upper floor, had slow toilet flushing occasionally for unknown reasons, although when mentioned to cleaning staff, was advised it was an ongoing system problem, but unexplained as to why. Otherwise, it is in a very convenient area for restaurants, deli's and some shopping, maybe 500 yards from the hotel beaches. The public beach is about 15 kilometers down the road to the south. A dive shop and guide/dive tour service is housed right next door to the hotel if that is of interest. The papaya restaurant across the street and 50 meters down is excellent for an assortment of foods and liquids.

Nice brief stay.

We were only here for a night, but we had a very nice stay. Our host was friendly and helpful and gave us a map of the downtown area, pointing out all we needed to know. There are several ATM's within one or two blocks, and it is easy to walk to the Red Sea or the shopping areas. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good--the same basic breakfast as everywhere in Israel & Jordan it seems--hummus and dips, tomatoes and cucumbers, pita bread, yogurt, and Corn Flakes. We made a request for an upper-floor room with a balcony, and that's just what we got. Our host pointed us in the direction of the vans that head to Petra/Wadi Musa, and that worked just fine.

Only Place to Stay in Aqaba!

This hotel is truly service oriented! The staff was very helpful, recommending restaurants, dive shops and shopping areas. They helped us figure out the remote control for the TV more than once! Our room was very nice and roomier than other hotels where we stayed. The balcony with a bistro table was a nice touch.
Truly, the hotel felt like a much more expensive hotel. A great value!

The beds in this hotel were incredibly comfy and the air conditioning worked brilliantly, slept fantastically throughout our stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and rang the local Hammam on a number of occasions for us to arrange appointments at a safe and well recommended ladies only centre. The breakfast was good and the room was cleaned very well on a daily basis. The slight downside was a very noisy bathroom door and a few flies in the bathroom however these were very minor issues and did not affect the comfort of our stay. Excellent value and if I came back to Aqaba would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Aqaba

My daughter and I recently spent six nights at the Al Quidra. We had a very pleasant stay, and I would without hesitation recommend it to anyone visiting Aqaba. It is not a new \"cookie-cutter\" hotel. It is an older facility which has been extremely well maintained. This means that the rooms are spacious, with high ceilings with medallioned light fixtures, the walls are thick and virtually sound-proof, and the rooms have sort of an old world elegant feel. Very important in the desert, the air conditioning, controlled in each room, worked great! The hotel is spotlessly clean. Desk staff are fluent in English and very helpful. The concierge was very helpful in arranging a tour to Petra and an early morning taxi to the airport.

Nice Hotel for the price

We paid the basic room and when we got there we got a little upgrade. The room was nice, big enought and with a balcony with a nice view to a local gym with cute guys working out.

Central Location and Good Value

Centrally located in Aqaba, this hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach (though not the part of the beach you would enter the water) and close to the main activities of the town. Service was friendly and the hotel room was clean. A simple breakfast was included. The rooms aren't particularly charming, but they are good value for the money.

This was an excellent place to stay in Aqaba. It was very accessible to all the facilities - beach, shops, cafes and restaurants, 24 hour car parking. Hotel staff were very amicable, knowledgeable and helpful about the various attractions and activities available, without being intrusive. In the center of everything you want in Aqaba.

My son and I were very pleased with our stay at Al Qidra. The staff was wonderful and made sure we were happy every day of our stay. Mahmoud was particularly friendly and went out of his way to ensure we were well taken care of. The location of the hotel was perfect, with two dive shops right next door and everything we needed in Aqaba within a few minute walking time. I would stay there again next time I'm in Aqaba!

On our way to Sharm El Sheik...

Wonderful Staff !!! We were greeted with refreshing orange juice as soon as we walked in at Al Quidra Hotel. The night manager ( i forgot his name) is knowledgeable and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. The balcony is tiny. It doesn't concern me as I do not want to sit outside with over 100 degrees. The hotel is located in the heart of Aqaba. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and groceries. Very convinient.

Our special thanks to the night manager for setting the breakfast earlier due to our early flight. It is really very nice of him to do that.

Expensive for what you get

This is a budget hotel but what you get for the price is not very much compared to other places like Morocco. You could easily get the same \"value\" for a third of the price.

In addition the staff failed to hand back our passports which was only discovered when checking in to the next hotel. A mistake on our part sure but why do they need to keep them in their safe over night? Make sure to get your passports back asap!!!

Este hotel tiene una buena ubicación, cerca de restaurantes, tiendas, lugares donde se pueden contratar actividades acuáticas y paseos y puntos de interés. Pudimos hacer el check-in y check-out fácil y rápidamente. No habían toallas en la habitación. Tuvimos que pedirlas y se demoraron un poco en llevarlas. La habitación estaba lo suficientemente cómoda para dormir bien, pero la limpieza es deficiente, especialmente en el baño.

Übergangsnacht, in Ordnung

Für uns war es eine Übergangsnacht, deshalb haben wir bewusst ein günstiges Hotel gebucht und auch nicht viel erwartet. Das Hotel war auch dementsprechend. Das Zimmer war einigermassen sauber, hatte zwei Einzelbetten welche in Ordnung waren. Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war minimal, duschen war gerade so möglich. Frühstücken war möglich, aber nicht sehr einladend.
Aber wie gesagt, haben es in etwa so erwartet.

Bon choix à Aqaba

Très bien situé au coeur de la zone touristique d'Aqaba, avec restaurants et commerces à quelques dizaines de mètres. Grand chambre, Bon Wifi par étage, très propre, lits confortables, itsdouche avec eau chaude et un bon débit. Partant tôt le matin, nous n'avons pas testé le petit-déjeuner. Le personnel a été très réactif lorsque nous avons eu un souci avec la climatisation, souci qui a été réglé rapidement. L'accueil était très souriant et cordial. Rien à redire, un bon choix parmi les nombreux hôtels de Aqaba.

The location is very good, near a lot of restaurants and not very far from the beach. The staff was kind and helpful, in especial Abdalah.
However, the installations are rather old and we had a problem with the toilet (wc didn't work well).
Besides, breakfast is pretty poor.

Simple and nice hostel!

Hi, we just were there for a week (from sweden). here you have som important notes: change money in your country a bit before you come, because in shaba all the ATM charge you 6-7 more euro for withthrowing cash. (Not other citys !) Almost every place is better prive if you åt by dinar, a LOT Of placera takes just cash, paying by card kan be 2,5 to 7% of your purchase!!
Always talk and compare the prices, we bought 1,5 liter water in aga a from 0,5 dinar to 2,5 dinar!! Or taxi to petra for just 40 dinar, but they stayed first 100 dinar !! Have a nice trip!

E' la priva volta che una prenotazione fatta con Expidia sia stata cosi deludente. Cosa dire rimane estremamente difficile, faccio solo presente
che usciva spero solo acqua dal sifone del bagno e dalla tazza la mancanza di una parte della porta della doccia rimane marginale in questo contesto. Scordavo un fatto a mio avviso gravissimo l'albergo ha provveduto a prendere i soldi dalla mia carta di credito prima dell' arrivo che trovo veramente non professionale Non mi dilungo ulteriormente

Accueil chaleureux. Chambre correcte. Hôtel'situé à proximité de beaucoup de restaurants. Attention wifi de mauvaise qualité. Se garer avant 18h car rue animée le soir' néanmoins les chambres sont bien insonorisées.
