Our stay at InterContinental Aqaba (Resort Aqaba) by IHG was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and highly professional throughout our visit. When they learned it was our anniversary, Despina, the Guest Relations Manager, surprised us with a complimentary celebration cake delivered to our room — a truly thoughtful and memorable gesture.
Kiras at the reception was also outstanding, incredibly helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Every detail was handled with care, and we genuinely felt valued as guests. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Aqaba.

The receptions was horrible and professional. They try to double charge me and try to take extra money from me. They didn’t know how to treat the customers. Also, the breakfast was terrible as well. Surface was bad. They closed the pool at 7:30 PM after that you cannot enter the pool

Fantastic property with great amenities - swimming pools, jacuzzi and beach.

Food was great. The manager at The Corniche restaurant was extraordinary in accommodating us (vegetarians).

Rooms service food was largely good although they gave us extremely spicy food despite us having specifically asked for it to be less spicy.

The room was comfortable but the area outside the balcony was quite dirty with lots of cigarette butts. It was cleaned as soon as we let the housekeeping know.

The plug points were not compatible with ours (UK) however the reception staff kindly lent us an adaptor.

Overall a great experience which could have been exceptional barring a few aspects.

One staff person was rude, hostile and unprofessional, spoiling the entire stay. The Lebanese restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was a mess, with the buffets running out of plates and a 6-yr old child climbing on the buffet, shoes and all, to grab donuts. The tables were filthy.

It is a nice hotel but very outdated. The room I was in needed a renovation yesterday. The bathroom was clean but again needs a renovation.
The beach and pool areas are very nice!! Sand is clean, the pool is large, there is a sitting area as well, where you can enjoy a sunset. I would come back but wish the hotel had some Reno done inside.

I had an issue with my room which was supposed to be partial sea view then it turned out to be view on a working area, the hotel dealt with it fast and the GM kiras changed my room into a better sea view room to make my stay excellent.

I stayed 2 night 3 days, food was very good, the beach was clean all the time
Rooms are spacious and clean.
They spread water for all guests in all rooms.
Breakfast was a bit crowded but they had many options.

The property has great location a great beach with beds and shade. The pool was nice and the service was great. The only thing I wasn’t expecting is to find the rooms very old and in bad conditions, the web page shows a very modern hotel but it’s not like that. I’m reality it’s old but well kept in common areas but my room was damage, old and very small (and I get the family room )

Couldn’t be better

I stayed here for two night to visit Petra. As we arrived here in the morning, I think we had better go to the city centre before check-in. But the reception let us check in earlier so we took a rest instead of wandering under the hot sun. Breakfast was good. On the last day, we could stay in the swimming pool until our taxi arrived after check-out. I feel this hotel cared about visitor’s convenience and satisfaction. I will visit here again with my kids!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and wanted to express my deep appreciation for the incredibly kind and helpful staff. The spa and animation teams, in particular, went above and beyond to make my visit truly memorable. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The animation team's enthusiasm and creativity added so much fun to my stay, making sure my kids were having the most fun possible, there was never a dull moment. Hotellet trænger i den grad til en opdatering, specielt værelserne er gamle umoderne møbler der slet ikke lever op til den pris de tager for det.
Generelt mangler der øje for detaljen på alt.

God liggestole på stranden og god pool, super lækkert med små kølebokse. Stort udvalg til morgenmaden.

Had a minor tonic water spillage in the room. Called house keeping and reception multiple times over a span of 5 hours from 6pm to 11pm and no one showed up to mop up the sticky mess. Their final excuse when I called at 11.15pm to ask them not to send anyone as I was going to sleep? \"Sorry, we're really busy\"

It was a lovely location in walking distance to downtown Aqaba. The hotel was beautiful and everyone there was so helpful and friendly. When I found the pillows too soft they exchanged them for firmer pillows with a smile. The only improvement I can suggest (on the eco friendly side) is to perhaps replace the plastic straws with paper ones to cut down even further on single use plastic. We sometimes sat on our balcony with a cup of coffee at day break and noticed how hard the staff were working to make sure the garden, pool and beach areas were spotless. The hotel was a great base for exploring the area with many great excursion options on offer.

Very accommodating hotel who were able to offer early check in and allowed use of facilities after check out. We had to ask for bed to be made up and more towels, teabags, cups etc as there was two adults and two kids in room, but they responded promptly.

Bad experience during check in! The receiption staff didn't give me the room key because I have an extra guest (one baby less than one year). He told me we will cancel your nonrefundable reservation accoording to the hotel policy, or you have to kick your baby out of the hotel to receive the room, or you have to upgrade your reservation for seaview suit. So, I upgraded my reservation, then I received the suit at 3:40 pm.
Everything else is excellent.

Excellent dinner buffet, pools and private beach. Service at the bar and buffet restaurant was great (as was the entertainment at the bar). Service at the beach restaurant was quite slow however and note that airport shuttle service is only available for Royal Jordanian flights.

Not as great as I'd hoped. The constant scrutiny - scanning in and out in the name of security is annoying. Not being able to bring food and drink in - even soft drinks and sweets/snacks is simply to try to make you pay the frankly ridiculous prices in the hotel. 9.5 JD for a beer when it's 3.50 in bars outside. I really disliked that. I'd liked to have had a glass of wine on my balcony but was unable unless I paid inflated prices. The hotel breakfast was great and the beach is nice enough.

This is a clean and comfortable hotel on the edge of Aqaba town which is walkable. We stayed twice but the second time felt the location of the room could have been better because our balcony was overlooked by both the bar and restaurant - even when there were other free rooms. Inside the room was great but again the first occassion we had a walk in shower and paid more the second and got an over bath shower. The pools and beach are great, it was quite cold and so only used the outdoor jacuzzi. Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and worth paying in advance.

Sehr gutes Hotel mit außergewöhnlich zuvorkommendem und aufmerksamen Personal. Besonders Ammar an der Rezeption war sehr hilfreich und hat uns ein Zimmer mit Meerblick gegeben, da das Hotel nicht ausgebucht war. Wir konnten auch früher einchecken und alles verlief reibungslos. Das Frühstück ist sehr umfangreich und bietet für jeden etwas - von orientalischen Spezialitäten bis hin zu Eggs Benedict oder Omelette alles dabei.

Not worth it, definitely not 5 star hotel service

Literally the worst 5 start hotel/resort I stayed in. Not sure if it is due to Covid-19 restrictions or because they were being greedy to make up for the losses during the lockdowns. In both cases Intercontinental is part of the International well renowned IGH group, if they can't keep the standards high then please shut it until you can go back to these standards.

I felt the hotel was very greedy, they even make you sign a form that you are not allowed to bring food from outside, which is a first in my life (usually posters around saying this would also not be nice but I can accept it, but to sign a form, that was insulting to say the least). The only food available 24/7 is room service, which you cannot take to the beach or anywhere else. Restaurants during day time aren't open all the time. So either you eat in your room like a prisoners or go outside the hotel.

The electrical charging stations for cars were not working either.

When we wanted to check in, at approx 13:20, we were told check in time is at 15:00, which is true, but that time is when the hotel is at full capacity, when the hotel is almost empty, like in our stay, 5 star hotels usually let you check in after 12:00.

When requested a late checkout for only 2 hours, I wad told I have to pay 10JD (before taxes) per hour, which is kind of silly for a 5 star hotel, which was also the most expensive in the area. To be fair though, the hotel manager didn't charge us after I requested to raise the issue with him.

The reception was terrible. my sea view room was not ready. They gave a room with very limited view. The problem is that the afternoon manager told me it is an upgraded room. The sea view was limited to less than 30 degrees (Room 509). That lie ruined my whole vacation

The hotel rooms and facilities are clean or well maintained. Their beach is so clean. However, they had a no food from outside policy. Like how am I supposed to eat only from the Hotel's restaurant. It was so absurd. I couldn't order food delivery or bring food from outside restaurants. The security guard was so rude when I was coming back to the hotel with some food bought from outside. I had my 1 year old baby and he didn't let me go inside the hotel. He said and I quote \"if you want to come in you either have to throw your food in the trash or eat it outside and then come back\". How rude is that. The country had a lockdown at 7:00 PM so I had to throw my food in the trash so I can come inside the hotel and not get fined or arrested for breaking the lockdown. The hotel should change their policy as well as train their security guards how to talk to guests.

During a pandemic (COVID) one expects less, but the Aqaba Intercontinental staff went above and beyond to make us feel pampered with a smile on top of a great service. Cleanliness, social distancing, and hygiene requirements were available at each corner of the hotel. The staff very well experienced on handling the new normal, breakfast buffet artfully arranged and delivered to the hotel visitors. A BIG THANK YOU to all.

First the check in was not warm welcoming . They tried to charge for breakfast even though it was included in the price .luckily I had a print out of the reservation otherwise they would not have beleived me. Then the manger says it is a system mistake ! Then they want to charge 50$ per night for a roll away bed. At check out they wanted to charge 30$ per hour for 2 hours i requested. A hamburger is 17$ at poolside . Honestly the hotel is not worth the money especially when i paid 230$ per night.
