Room is tired, service is terrible. The flush in the bathroom would not work so had to bring the maintenance man to “fix “ this happened the whole duration of our stay, they wouldn’t change us room when they told us they would . Calling room service when you only speak English starts with everyone just closing the phone on you . They don’t have the facility for an iron , after requesting one for over 2 hours being told that they will bring me one I find out that you need to go down two floors and use a communial iron . This is the service for $400 a night . So disappointing

Herods palace more like Herods hostel

Very poor condition, we changed the room because of broken shower, cigarettes were all over the terrace, the furnitures are full of stains, the food section is full of dirt (chairs and tables) that’s not even close to be a hotel that asking for 500$ per night.
It’s the 7th time we’ve visited this hotel and the last one.

I would never choose to stay anywhere else in Eilat. If you ever close your eyes and dream of the perfect vacation a d the perfect hotel, then Herods Palace is that place! Hard to imagine something better. Eilat plus Herods equal perfect vacation. Almost anything i could say would not be enough or do it justice so I hope the 2 key words - perfect vacation- would convince anyone to give it a try!

Service was so bad that is not even possible to grade.
The condition of the hotel is very old.
If I just took a look in online reviews on this hotel I would never go there.

This was probably the worst stay I ever had in Israel in my whole life.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD ! !
We arrived to the hotel at 10:00 am we been told that the room will be ready at 1 pm at 3:30 pm after we waited in the lobby for too long we had the chance to Speke with the Hotel manger she was super rude disrespectful and unprofessional she gave us some BS story abut to Delay and she offered us to take the money and leave if we are not happy .
I was sure she’s joking but she was serious so we took the money and we went out to find another hotel at 4:30 pm A few hours before Shabbat ,
We wasn’t the only couple that go through the same process shame of you Herods

The room was not clean at all, the refrigerator was broken the safety-deposit box didn't work, the toilet tank is working all the time. When we came to the room in the last day at 10:25 after Breakfast the room was clean and the room attendant throw all our food from the refrigerator and our Baby staff like diapers and more staff.

Perfect location and great service.

Stuff were really helpful and nice and always had a smile and will to help. Breakfast was amazing.
Rooms are a bit outdated and really need some upgrading and upkeeping - the bath and shower drapes had stains and the carpet was very old, besides that the location is great, the service is wondaful, the food is amazing and the room size sensible.

Nice looking but rooms are SO noisy

The hotel is grand looking from the outside. However, we had to change rooms 3 times because the rooms are SO loud and not soundproofed where there are connecting doors. We were moved to a room with a connecting door where they guaranteed us no one was staying on the other side and of course, someone was staying there and we could hear their entire conversation from 2-4 a.m. down to when they got a text message on their phone. We complained several times and they did eventually move us to a quiet room on the last day. At that point it was our 4th room and we were exhausted- I wouldn’t come back to this hotel again. They need to invest in soundproofing the rooms. You shouldn’t be able to hear every noise coming from the room next door. Pro: Breakfast buffet was really nice.

Horrible value for the money at crumbling facility

Herod's has seen better days. The common spaces were luxurious, i.e., the pool and beach. But the inside of the room was wanting. For example, the paint was peeling on the bottom of the bathroom door and the fixtures were old (there was also no outlet in the bathroom). For the money we paid, it wasn't a good value. They charged an extra $100/day for our son to join us in the room, to cover breakfast and use of the facilities. Wouldn't go back at that price.

I would not stay at the Herod Hotel again. Staff were not approachable. I had to breakfast alone as my mum is bad on her legs. I felt very uncomfortable. the poo larea has not enough loungers. There are too many trees creating too much shade.

VERY NICE HOTEL on the BEACH in EILAT

Everything was great., Stayed in Room 1212 which had an amazing view of the grounds and the gulf of Aqaba. Room was fully renovated and clean. Hotel staff brought complimentary wine, snacks and fruit upon arrival to the room. Pool area, beach areas and lobby all very very nice. Hotel is right on the boardwalk...close to many great restaurants and shops. Front desk staff was great as well. All in all, a great stay. Highly recommend..

was an alright experience, but nothing spectacular

some rooms are better than others, the hotel is starting to look tired, for Eilat-style buffets, I was actually disappointed, there was more selection at other hotels. Tamarin (breakfast) room was full of insects. It wasn't long before ants found their way into my shakshooka. Far too overpriced for what you get. Feels more like a three star hotel. King size bed is made by putting two twin beds together, if you sleep in the middle of the bed it's very uncomfortable. TV automatically turned on when you enter the room , very annoying feature, but at least you can unplug the TV. For a hotel of this category, there should've been bath salts or other amenities and toiletries provided, there were none. The toiletries provided seemed cheap , like bulk quality product poured into little bottles . If you're bringing a car, you may not find a place to park it; the hotel was designed with an insufficient number of parking spaces for guests, and the staff eagerly used whatever was left . The only good things about this hotel were the view and location . The hanging chandelier is also quite impressive, but it's not anything that adds to your experience of this hotel .

Nice Hotel but it's time for a face-lift

Beautiful grounds, needs to update it's maintenance.
Service was ok, dining room was not bad but seems like it's time for better up-keep.
Windows in the spa and jacuzzi room seemed not clean some rooms need a painting overall a very nice place to stay.

It was a short stay at Herods Palace. It was quite obvious that the hotel seen better days. Although nice and comfortable, it is not the 5 star experience we expected.

Okay, But Not Next Time

A decent stay but next time I will know better. We were there several days and during those days, they closed the hotel pool - the main reason we booked in the first place. No information its website or elsewhere - no warning. As you can imagine, it really dampened our stay.

Herod's is at the end of the boardwalk, the last hotel. Next time, I'll be staying closer to town. It's a nice hotel, large with lots of amenities - but lacks cache. The breakfast was not tasty at all, and I'm not picky with my food. I'll be happy with just about anything, but it was very bland and nothing interesting...like having to do a chore in the morning, really.

We stayed at the hotel in August , couple with a child . The stuff is really great and helpful , the Internet connection was poor . And we had also to ask the stuff to add bedding for a child as there was none . The service was great and kind .

Best hotel in Eilat!

Room with all the bells and whistles, water front view, right on the sea with a beautiful private beach. In the night time - lots of restaurants, shops and other local attractions on the promenade right out the back door of the hotel. Better than Dan Eilat. Highly recommend.

Good hotel but full of families

Not 5 star but a good hotel, next to the beach, clean. Staff helpful. Was upgraded and room was big, amazing view. Breakfast had plenty of options and typically Israeli. Lots of families and pool was a family place not for relaxing but beach was ok for that. Stayed 3 nights so could visit Petra.

For the price you should go elsewhere

The hotel is nice when u walk in. That's where it ends. The carpets in the hallways r old and dirty, the room had pistachio shells on the floors by the porch, and the pool area is noisy, loud, and people can smoke and move their seats right in front of u and by the walkways and ladders to the pool. For a non-smoking hotel, I had to complain a few times a day - all w a broken ankle that i came to get some relaxation from. Not recommended!!

I stayed 2 nights and had a very nice time. It's on the beach promenade and close to the airport and nice walk to the center of town. I would stay at Herod's again.

I'm sure there's a better option!

I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel smelled awful, like VERY strong cheap perfume. It made both of us nauseous. It permeated everything. The wifi was incredibly slow and spotty, I found it faster and more reliable to use my 3G international data. We were supposed to have breakfast prepared to go before our trip to Petra, Jordan, however, they didn't prepare it in time. I had to ask them and they gave us whatever they could pull together in the 10 minutes between when we checked out and the tour bus arrived.

The hotel was clean, as was our room, which did have a magnificent view. But the staff and smell were such a cluster it couldn't make up for it.

Nice hotel close to the beach

The hotel is in the perfect location. You are at the end of the strip of hotels and you can walk right to the beach from the pool. However the restaurant for breakfast was poor. They had switched over on Sunday to food for Passover which starts on Monday night. The food was horrible. The plates were all chipped and dirty. The area was not clean. When we checked out there was an erroneous charge on our bill for room service that we did not order. The front desk did not believe us and room service could not produce support but the front desk believed them and not us the customer. I had to ask for the manager of the front desk after 20 minutes of the team not doing anything although they said they were checking. Finally after the manager came and made another call to room service they removed the charge. I would never recommend staying here.

The hotel is located in the last part of the north beach towards Jordan, most rooms have a beautiful view of the red sea and eilat, the rooms are not that well maintained for a high-class hotel. Some corrosion in the bathroom and leakage damage, Balcony was unclean, The doors, hallways and elevator was a bit run-down and unclean, the outside of the hotel seems to have taken some damage and hasn't been repaired. the service wasn't not that good, including trying to charge us 150 % more then agreed due to typo of the service and getting locked out of the room half an hour before check-out.

Phenomenal Time Had at Herods

We went as family with 2 small kids and were upgraded to a club level room. The hotel is phenomenal, on par with the luxurious 4/5 star hotels in Las Vegas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Babysitting services were brokered. The breakfast buffet is something to write home about. It was impressive and the food was fresh and baked on site. Just phenomenal. The room itself was on the smaller side, but the huge grounds and pool made up for that. The resort has a private beach at the edge of the red sea. Its sprawling. We booked at an off period just before the jewish new year so we pretty much had the whole hotel to ourselves. no doubt, that influenced our level of service and experience. Pack another 2000 israelis and their kids into that complex and no doubt the buffet will be a little more hectic. Wife was thrilled with child services which including free meals and room service for the kids (we were brought fresh chocolate milk and water on the house) a gymboree, live show of linn king, and some culinary arts class. Only complaints... the highchairs for the kids were old and didnt buckle properly and the room was on the small side. Overall, this was a special experience and looking forwarded to returning.

Relaxing and fun

There was a mix up w/ the rooms, I paid for suites but got reg rooms.
They did compensate though for the difference, so make sure you're getting the right room. FYI if you have a child they charge u extra almost 1/2 the rate. i thought that was strange be careful alot of hidden fees. Other than that it's a nice place to visit.

The hotel and its amenities were great and location was the best however customer service deserves less than the 1 star I gave it. The staff was extremely rude and made no accommodations. The power went out in our room (just our room) and after trying to fix it for an hour they finally moved us to a different room which they claimed was an upgrade but really was just on a higher floor. We had to pay for Internet access because my friend had to do work on her lap top and kept getting kicked off. We were only able to use one device per password after the guy at the front desk specifically told me we could use more than one, which he later denied saying. I would think that at $220 a night we would be able to get free wifi at the very least!!
Very dissapointed with the whole experience would not recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay

Pros: Fantastic hotel and staff, excellent amenities. Breakfast is out of this world - the best we have ever encountered, basically - everything you have ever dreamed of, just without meat (Kosher Dairy).

Con: In a world where free Wi-Fi hotspots are everywhere, it was quite bewildering the hotel charges 80 NIS/night for in-room Wi-Fi, and even does not offer free Wi-Fi in its' lounges or lobby. Instead may we suggest go to the adjacent promenade behind the hotel, or the new Ice Rink Mall nearby - which is, by the way, and excellent mall.

Overall: Had a marvelous stay, most recommended!
