A few thoughts...

Eilat needs better parking options. Not the responsibility of the hotel directly, but there are no great options for arriving by auto during a holiday or on a busy day. But, it seems that if the hotels got together with the city something could be done to improve both the parking and traffic flow around the hotels.

There could be something done in the main lobby area to reduce the noise. During check-in on a busy day the noise level is very high, likely due to the high number o hard surfaces in the lobby. It would be nice to see more soft surfaces to absorb sound rather than reflect it.

Now, with that said, our experience at Leonardo Plaza in Eilat was once again excellent. The staff is always friendly and super helpful. The room was clean and in good condition. The food was amazing. We will continue to return for our annual vacation as long as it's possible - the place represents a great value for the money we spent and we're already looking forward to next year.

We chose the Leonardo because of the facilities and the great location on the beach. We weren't disappointed. While no longer the top of the upper tier of hotels in Eilat, the Leonardo is still quite nice, well cared for, and a great place to make your home while enjoying Eilat.

I I took myself out to a nice weekend… I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms so that I could have a large balcony to myself. It was lovely I didn’t really leave the hotel for the whole weekend. The service was great, always checking in if everything was good on my end. The food was great and there was a ton of options. I really truly enjoyed myself and I will be back soon.

Average - Need improvement in certain areas

Excellent location, very close to red sea and free lounge chairs to use for guests. Nice warm heated pool. Although beds are comfortable, hotel room is dated and definitely need a refresher wifh new tiles and counter top and re-grout. Can see all the dirt and grine on grouts and some cracked tiles in bathroom. Housekeeping need to do an inspection after cleaning. Apparently toiletries such as shower gel and such, which were completely used up the day before, need to be replenished. Room was not vacuumed well and tiday, including table top and bathroom surfaces are not wiped clean. Can improve in this area. The ladies working in front desk are friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work; however, the concierge staff are unfriendly. No greetings except stare downs. Does not give us the welcoming feeljng. Also we asked to borrow adhesive tape to secure a carry-on souvenir. Front desk advised only concierge has it. When we approached conceige and asked, we got a long stare down and no response. Finally we asked again, staff appwars disgruntle and unwilling to part with it and remains irritated. This is not the attitude we expect from a branded hotel. Staff needs a refresher customer training or not be in front line service. Negative attitudes, unpolished demeanor and unfriendliness give the hotel guests like us a negative experience of the hotel. Not totally sure if we want to stay at same hotel next time we visit because we paid US $200+ per night and somewhat disappointing.

King Bed Junior Suite with loud music outside until 2:10 AM (yes, 2:10 AM), called front desk 1:30 AM, they argued that it’s not their property, not their fault. Security then came to my room at 2:00 AM to “see how loud it is.” This property had plenty of families and young children. Checked out a day early (not reimbursed — again, not their fault). Strongly advise against this hotel.

Great location, some hits and misses

The hotel is in a fantastic location on the North Beach of Eilat, with a nice pool, direct beach and promenade access. Very close to the airport, shops and restaurants.

this hotel is an older property, as mentioned in other reviews, however i did not realize how much so. i am glad i heeded the reviews that suggested paying extra for a premium room... BUT even though we paid for a premium room with sea view, we were given a very dated room that smelled musty, the bathroom smelled of chlorine, and the room was just in very bad shape.

where the staff did shine, was after my complaint to the front desk about the room condition, we were \"upgraded\" to another premium room a few doors down, which was in significantly better shape and did not have any issues of our first room. the hotel staff also added spa access and business lunch to our stay, though we did not use these features.

the staff was also helpful with accommodating us for late checkout. Kai at the front desk was able to arrange for us to check out at 4PM instead of the usual 11AM, as our flight was at 5:30PM. we were able to enjoy the beach/pool, and still have a shower available to us.

The hotel was directly on the beach and within easy walk of local Mall and bus stops and cabs. This was my first time in this hotel and I was attracted by the room sizes in the pictures and the large balconies. Sadly the superior rooms do not have this - they are not as good as a basic Travelodge room and at £200+ a night not good value for money - when we arrived my daughter wrote Hi in the dust on the base of the standard lamp - it was there for a week before dusted.
The main areas of the hotel, the dining rooms, the bar, lobby, shops, pool, spa and sauna are excellent as are the views and your could not ask for nicer staff - the food was excellent and well presented and served, waiters were very helpful but the food is not geared towards your average English person - we spent a lot of time wondering what we were eating
Worst thing about the hotel were the flies and to be honest this was not the hotels fault as it was outside and also on the beach. Apparently about four years ago they started offloading meat at the port and ever since the flies have moved into Eilat - it kept us away from the pool and beach and this prevented my daughter from sunbathing which is her favourite occupation - did we enjoy it, yes, will we go again, no and sadly that is solely down to the flies and the very long journey

We were staying there for three nights. Hotel location is just in the city centre with nice small beach (without corals). Who is not bothered by noise of plains, can enjoy watching landing them to nearby airport - just ca 500m away from the hotel.
Underground garage is available, however, quite stinking and dirty. I was surprised that the gym was subject to pay unless you order some services (such as massages). Breakfast was included in the price, it was really very good with a lot of choices, especially tasty cappuccino. Cleaning away the plates from the table was rather slow. The bathroom´s floor was rather dirty when we entered for the first time, but otherwise it was quite comfortable room. Big advantage is the situation of the hotel - you are close to the restaurants, shopping boutiques and malls.

Outdated and below average hotel

I think this hotel is in need of a major renovation has their are cracks in the plaster in the hallways, very old room carpeting, and terrible air conditioning in the rooms as well. It was not a cheap hotel, and for the money there are many better appearing choices in the same area.

Decent hotel but poor quality food and rude staff

Let's start with the positives - truly great location - right in the heart of everything and there's a gate to the promenade open until 11pm every evening. Wifi was free and strong connection everywhere. Room was clean and comfortable. They gave us free access to the business lounge which was a nice bonus. The entertainment for kids and adults was good, but not incredible. The swimming pool and surrounding area was very nice.

Now to the negatives - The main one was the food - the dining room was absolute chaos and the food was really poor (and I am not even fussy at all when it comes to food). The staff were so rude - the worst I have seen in a hotel. It was very loud at night, although this was partly due to where our room was. On the entertainment side of things I feel more effort could be made as to to the programme of events and the staff certainly need to show some more enthusiasm.

In summary, if you don't care about food or staff this is a great hotel. If you do it is definitely one to avoid.

Great quality for you money!

Not a five star hotel... That being said it wa extremely clean and the beds were great and staff was helpful... Called ahead and said it was my anniversary and got a welcome package of champagne, wine and chocolates. They also give us free acces to spa and gym and VIP room as well. Go for a high floor sea view.. Just beautiful. THE most central hotel in Eilat. I highly recommend this hotel.

Dreadful terrible hotel!

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel together with our friends and kids (3 rooms) – 31/12/2015 to the 4th of January 2016 and this was a very bad choice!
We called 4 times (!) to check if the hotel’s pool was heated and all four of us got the same answer – “YES, it is”. Do you think it was heated?! No, it was not!
The rooms? OLD, OLD and a bit OLDER… nothing worked! Nothing!! No actually, the safe worked… and a lot of nice warm water. Real 4 stars hotel! Is it too warm in the room? “I am sorry but air-conditioning is not working so please open a window (true – that was their answer!)”. The remote control is not working?! We will send someone within an hour or so…
The food?! You don’t want me to go there… imagine “eat as much as you can” but with a very low quality… and since we stayed for a few nights we had to see the same (SAME) food every evening, and morning… a tip – cut down the quantity and add some quality!
The service?! No such thing here!!! Well, they did say they want me to leave with a good feeling… what did they do about it? Nothing really! The few staff members that did talk Hebrew or English were, how should I put it? – simply unmotivated! They just don’t have the knowledge, I guess, how to treat guests!
All in all – I recommend you to not book this hotel in any circumstances – it will, most probably, leave you as well dissatisfied!

It's position is its only positive feature

Hotel is tired and needs renovating. Check in staff tried to charge me twice for accommodation which was prepaid. Room was dirty. I had to keep calling housekeeping to clean the bath which had a dirty ring around it. Restaurant was chaotic. Staff could not cope with the crowds and never managed to clear up plates from tables. Guests were rude and pushed in. The only exception was Fani who cooked omelettes. She too pride in her work and greeted all guests with a smile. VIP lounge was a nightmare. A French guest brought in several ineligible friends and when challenged became really abusive to the staff, shouting. The customer service manager was called to sort the problem out. She was ineffective and the next day was seen in the lounge drinking tea with the same guest. We also saw many staff playing on their mobile phones instead of giving service. The pool area was very clean with plenty of loungers and towels available both at the pool and the beach. Overall this was a very disappointing hotel stay. Management really need to take control and become more professional.

The hotel is overall good and deserves a 4 star status, but not more. We were on the second floor with two attached twin beds although we requested a high floor and one double or queen bed. Probably this was due to the fact that we stayed only one night. A nice touch was a complimentary gift composed of chocolate, wine and fruit- many thanks for that. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Both were good, but not more. The carpet along the 2nd floor corridor was not clean and deserved a good vacuum. We enjoyed ourselves overall but will stay elsewhere next time we visit Eilat.

Watching the planes land from the balcony was cool...restaurant was expensive, but food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. The hallways are a bit dank and damp, but I attribute that to the sea. Front desk service was WONDERFUL! Discounts available to aquarium at concierge desk.

Wonderful location. Upgraded room (nice surprise) with fantastic balcony overlooking the sea! Very busy pool, so it would be nice if the staff kept the deck cleaner (since the guests do not). Halls and rooms could use some updating but very clean, spacious and comfortable. Very good buffets, plenty of choice. Very nice staff.

Great location. Friendly service. Nice selection for breakfast and dinner.
The bad:
Avoid lower floors, especially in the new (west) wing. Can be noisy and no view!

Great Location and comfortable stay

We stayed at the hotel over New Years eve and had a lovely time. We found the hotel to be in a perfect location to the boardwalk and nightlife and of course the Red Sea. The daily buffet style breakfast and dinner was included in the room price and was typical but nice quality and a nice way to try typical Israeli fare. I would stay again and not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a getaway vacation

Awesome Hotel!

The Leonardo Plaza was awesome! The pool was gigantic and beautiful. The food was delicious. They gave so much! The staff was courteous and helpful. If you have children this is definitely the place to stay. There are many activities as well as easy access to the beach and boardwalk. Tours can be easily arranged by an on site tour guide. For those who observe Shabbat, candle lighting was provided in the lobby outside the main dining room and the Shabbat meal was delicious. They even provide wine for Kiddush! What a wonderful, relaxing place.

We really liked the food. The dinner had a huge variety, and it changed every night. The breakfast had a lot of options, including healthy ones, and all meals had stuff for kids and even babies. The concierge desk was really helpful with booking daily activities. The staff was nice and helpful with everything we needed. Newspapers were available at the front desk, and the lobby had some snacks at certain points in the day. When we told them it was our honeymoon, they gave us a great room, and certain perks. Our room had a great view of both the sea and the airport, so we could watch the planes land. There were two pools, one with really fun waterfalls that can be used as a massage. There was also a separate infant pool. Was nice for adults, but all the kids there looked happy too. There was a bouncy castle by the pool which also looked like a lot of fun. We were very impressed when they asked us at checkout if there was anything to improve on, and we felt they were sincere, and mentioned something small in the room that needed to be fixed. They also held our luggage in a LOCKED room while we waited for our room to be available and when we checked out - lots of other hotels just put it in an open space to be stored at your own risk. The location was great also. The room was nice and clean, with a beautiful balcony with furniture, and the bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, Qtips, shower caps, and some other things. We were very happy overall!

When we first arrived there was a lot of loud music and we were quite worried we had picked the wrong hotel or wrong location altogether - we just wanted a couple of quiet days relaxing. However we soon found some quieter spots in the hotel and the music seemed to stop after our arrival day (which was a Saturday). We were also upgraded which was lovely - free wifi, good and drinks in the business centre and fruit, wine and chocolates in the room.

Spectacular Food & Great Location

We had a very nice stay at this hotel despite the fact that there are renovations underway in the lobby and the quiet pool was closed. The decor in the common areas and rooms is very tired and in desparate need of an upgrade. The reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food in the hotel restaurant (breakfast & dinner) is spectacular with a very large variety to choose from. The hotel is right on the promenade with direct access to a private beach

comfortable hotel with good facilities. We booked for 4 nights to relax and enjoy the weather. when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted well and the reception staff were most helpful. hotel has lots of facilities and we were pleasantly surprised to be told we could use the 'executive lounge' free of charge due to booking with Expedia. This included free wi-fi hot and cold drinks and food available which was really lovely to be able to go there and have some lunch. We could also use the outdoor area of the spa which had much nicer sunbeds than around the main pool. (the pictures on the web-sites do show this as opposed to the main area so i would have been disappointed as the normal beds were not great)
lots of choice with breakfast and dinner and good idea to have 2 sittings - also loved eating outdoors
lots of trees around the pool area which so beware if you are a sun worshipper!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were greeted by Daniel at the reception desk who made us feel so welcome.He was very courteous seeing to all our needs then and throughout our stay. We were given a VIP benefits which included access to the plaza lounge where Reggie was a phenomenal hostess with her warm personality.The food was plentiful however we would have liked to have had freshly squeezed juice in the morning. Good hotel - decent facilities

We arrived at the hotel, which is well located near the marina. Covered parking was small and full so we had to park behind the dominos in a dirt parking lot. In 40 degree heat this can be annoying if you are in and out of the car travelling to surrounds . In any case, check-in went smoothly, our room was lovely and clean (glass door to bathroom and toilet a matter of preference). Meals were reasonable (neither the best nor the worst ive had in Eilat). As with most Israeli hotel restaurants, arrive early to avoid queues and irritation. The beach is not great, pebbles not sand, but its close, and the marina has great shops and restaurants. At night you do get quite a bit of noise from the music etc. Overall by Israeli standards (and i stress this because American and European standards are higher) this was a nice hotel with reasonable value for money.

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The food was amazing, diverse and plentiful. The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel was nice and clean. Great location.
Tip - prior to stay, sign up for the Leonardo AdvantageCLUB. It's free and this will give you access to their business room which has computers with free Internet and nice snacks.

Hotel needs maintenance/updating

This is a fairly old hotel - I believe it used to be the Sheraton. The air conditioning was very poor - the room was extremely hot. The outside temperature is in the 90's and my room never got cool. I thought it was a poor value for the money.

Go somewhere else - old, overpriced & bad service

I would not recommend this place. It's a Meridian, so you expect it to be very nice, but this place is the exception. The lobby and pool are nice, but the rooms are old and dirty. The lobby staff are nice, but the rest of the staff are awful. We waited 2.5 hours for our room service because the restaurant staff didn't get our order the first two times we ordered it, and then when they finally gave it to us, no one apologized. The restaurant is incredibly overpriced and there's a night club near the pool that plays loud music until 1am. Go somewhere else.

Reasonable value, great location

Generally a better value than the fancier hotels in the area. Excellent breakfast. Nice lobby. Swimming pool and beach OK (Herods has a nicer beach, tends to be much more expensive however). A very enjoyable vacation. One problem: there was an EXTREMELY noisy disco across the street, with music at all hours of the night. This disturbed out sleep somewhat. However, in this area of Eilat, you do have to expect night life....

We booked this as the Sheraton. Between the time we booked and went, the hotel lost its Sheraton affiliation. The hotel has definitely gone down hill. The hotel was in acceptable form and not uncomfortable, but was clearly in decline. We switched rooms due to a leak in our first room, which the staff did not manage to fix despite represenations to us that it has been fixed. Thed the second room had its own set of broken items. The kiddie pool area was very nicely done, but far away from the main pool and people were smoking on top of the kids. The only positive aspects were the front desk staff and the waitresses (not the waiters) in the lobby area. We were unimpressed with the food, the dining room staff and the pool staff. We would not recommend this hotel.

Had stayed at this hotel two years ago. Beach was clean, but seemed to have more rocks, which lessened enjoyment of usage. Requested twin beds - given one double and one twin - less overall room to walk around. Very nice view. Buffet continues to be good.

Très grand buffet au petit-déjeuner et au repas du soir, très copieux, beaucoup de choix.
On avait réservé des chambres vue mer mais en fait on a eu une vue latérale sur la mer. Elles donnaient sur le côté fête foraine 🎡 et du coup c’est bruyant la nuit.
Personnel très efficace. Jolies piscines. La plage est soi-disant pour les clients de l’hôtel mais tout le monde y va.
L’emplacement de l’hôtel permet de longer la mer et faire des boutiques.
Pas assez de places dans le parking souterrain de l’hôtel .

Un véritable petit paradis

Rien à signaler. Tout était parfait : l’emplacement, les petits déjeuners et les dîners parfaits : variés et toujours en quantité le personnel attentif et aimable. Les chambres toujours propres mais qui auraient besoin d’être rénovées. À refaire et je retournerai encore au Leonardo Plazza

זו פעם שלישית שלנו במלון הפעם קרה משהו שלא היה כל כך מוצלח מבחינת ההרגשה . חוסר בכוח אדם גרם שהחדר לא היה נקי לא מספיק מגבות לפי כמות האנשים בחדר, מסביב מדרגות החירום לא היו נקיים בריכה אי הקפדה אזורי עישון חדר האוכל ניקיון

Härligt läge och fina rum! Bra städning och personal. Mycket god frukost och kvällsmiddasbuffe buffé! Dock lite stressig och högljudd miljö. Dålig service i receptionen.Tog tex två dar att få en engelsk karta över Eilat. Lite ovälkommen attityd.
Avvisande och negativ attityd när jag inte höll med om en receptionist Israelkritiska beskrivning av situationen på Västbanken/Gaza.

Ravintolan toiminta kaipaisi nopeaa parannusta. Ruoka ensiluokkaista, mutta henkilökunnan tominta vaatisi nopeaaa parantamista. Suurimmalle osalle keskinäinen keskustelu tärkeämpää kuin asiakaspalvelu. Eivät tervehdi, eivätkä sano sanaakaan noutaessaan astioita pöydästä,
Vievät astiat, vaikka ne olisivat vielä puolillaan ruokaa. Henkilökunnan kielitaito myös erittäin puutteellista. Suuri osa ei osannut englantia.

In die Jahre gekommenes Hotel in allerbester Lage,mit extrem gutem Essen (HP),sehr fleißigen Mitarbeitern im Restaurant. Zimmer war OK.
An der Rezeption spricht ein Mitarbeiter sehr gut Deutsch,sonst alles in Englisch bzw viel Russisch und natürlich Hebräisch.Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier falsch

Excellent séjour!
Tout y est pensé pour que ce soit parfait!
L’emplacement est exceptionnel, avec un accès direct à la promenade et à la plage, aménagée avec parasol, transats, douches, eau potable...
L’hôtel est très joli et extrêmement bien entretenu, la piscine magnifique!
Les repas copieux et variés et chacun y trouvera son goût!
Bref, une envie: y revenir très vite!

Check in muito demorado. Hotel muito sujo. Corredores de passagem imundos. Restaurante nao é limpo com frequência. Funcionários grossos. Quase ninguém fala inglês ou hebraico. Tive uma péssima experiência no hotel. Após muito conversar com a gerência do hotel, eles resolveram trocar a minha família de hotel
