The Adya hotel is 3km from the ferry terminal. Most staff do not speak english so communication difficult. Several things broken in room, ac leaking, found a dead bat on the floor which reinforces the cleaning issues. I seen someone else commneted about bats in the room and thoight it obsurd but then experienced it also. Obviously they get in when windows and doors are left open. Reception staff never acknowlege you after checking in and totally ignore your presence when passing thereafter. Things happen slowly if at all in this aging hotel that is over due a refurbishment.

Pool is nice although few sunbeds for the 200+ rooms. Towels were often not available around the pool and sunbeds didnt have materass making them uncomfortable.

Many local restaurants nearby and a mall within walking distance.

The staff were excellent—friendly, courteous, and very helpful.

The Jelapeng restaurant’s à la carte menu was excellent. The dishes were flavorful and consistently served hot, clearly prepared fresh upon ordering.

Breakfast was fresh, but the variety was limited. It would be great to have more options. For example, the fruits were consistently only watermelon and pineapple.

A handheld bidet spray is not available in the toilet. Instead, there is a water hose with a wall-mounted valve. For guests who do not use toilet paper, managing the water flow after use can be challenging.

I book my accommodation when travelling predominantly for the pool first and the room second. I love a good pool as that’s where I spend most of my time. Had I known this was a Muslim accommodation I would not have stayed. Nothing against the religion but the call to prayer constantly is anything but relaxing. The staff are not friendly. Not one smile the whole time I was there. Went up to my level and the hall carpets were very dirty and three days later still not vacuumed. The online photos of the two beautiful pools are years old and both pools were so green it was hygienically Impossible to use them. When I questioned the cleanliness multiple times I was told it was from the heat and rain (we all know that’s a big fat lie) and they would put chlorine in. That was no help. The room smelled like hospital air fresher. It was stomach churning. I opened the balcony door to the heat and went to the local market to get some lemongrass oil and a spray bottle to spray around the room. It’s in the most impoverished part of the island which I did not know but although the poverty was confronting it was also beautiful to see the locals so happy and friendly. Like I said, I love a good pool and I am in fact at the pool at my new accommodation writing this review because I checked out of the awful place early and rebooked at the amazing Century Langkasuka with its huge immaculately clean pool over looking the ocean. Same hot weather, same rain!! Clean beautiful pool. Massage 100%

I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 night's and I must say it was one of the best stays that I have had in Malaysia. All the staff were amazing, attentive, always smiling and went the extra mile to make everyone feel comfortable. I am already planning a return trip this time with my family. Great hotel, amazing staff and outstanding views from the higher floors where I was located. A very eclectic mix of guests who greeted one another and were always smiling. Keep up the good work all at the hotel.

First trip to Langkawi and were looking for a property within walking distance to restaurants. Didnt realize when we booked that it was a dry hotel (no alcohol). Rooms were a good size and relatively comfortable but the carpets were very dirty!

Had to extend our stay by 1 day and had an unpleasant experince when checking out as we were charged more than quoted. My fault for not taking a picture of the price the clerk wrote down. Live and learn.

This is our third time here, this time was not like before.. room lighting not all work, mattress was not clean as the inner blanket, the sewers for both the shower and the sink were fluffed.. they can just fix it to offer better condition.. breakfast was limited with local dishes with limited basic for international.. parking is available and people were very helpful and nice..

Nice hotel for a vacation

Nice family hotel for a vacation in Langkawi. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast had good food choices. Booked two rooms, the safe didnt work in one room. Only downside was there was no exhaust in the bathrooms and the smell would linger for hours.

The hotel seems nice from the outside, but it's a bit far from some locations. The staff tried to help me, however, my aircon was dripping for most of my staff. I made the staff aware of this but no one came to fix my aircon.

They said someone had, but it dripped all the time.

The external decoration of the hotel is much elegant and beautiful than any other hotels at the neighbourhood. I was a bit disappointed of the loose tapwater of the basin and the loose toilet cover in the toilet.They should be regularly checked and fixed before allowing guests to check into the room. It will be good to provide an extra clean toilet roll and a king size bed. Otherwise, the service of the hotel and staffs are good. They allows me to heat up my leftover food in their kitchen without charge me. The staffs are friendly and polite. They understand English. I can easily get my toiletries and snacks from the nearby mini marts and shopping mall for food. There are also walkable seafood restaurants by the streets and 24hours KFC. The location also easy for Grab transport to pick us up👍👍👍

The breakfast served were delicious. Staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel was clean and decent. It was awesome that they provide a free shuttle service to the mosque for Friday prayers.
However, for a 4 stars hotel, what’s lacking is the daily supply of mineral water bottles for the guests, tooth brush and tooth paste and box of tissue was only given to us on the second last day of our five nights stay.

We check in at night and the walk way to the rooms looks scary. Room was huge but its was very dirty, carpet worn off and a lots of stains in it. Toilet was dirty and the walls has black stain and flies was flying around, taps, host and rain shower was rusty. Towel was old black faded with strong chemical smell. No tooth brush was given, toilet door was dirt and broken here and there. Breakfast we didn't book but we pay and went for the buffer breakfast also disappointing also. The only pleasant thing is the balcony view to the sea and mountain that all. I think the management need to look into the cleanliness to provide guest satisfaction. Coming from a clean country we accept a 4 star hotel quality but its was more like a 2-3 star hotel standard. This is not acceptable!

Unpleasant welcoming by the front desk except for the bell boy.Room is not ready until check in time at 3pm.We got there around 12 pm ish......
After persuading manage to check in before 3pm.
TV channels is not working until my check out day 4days 3 nights.Old black faded towel.Soap tray is broken.....no place for soap.Shower tap is not working well.Carpet worn out....air con is not cold!

Pros:
Great location in Kuah Town, with walking distance to shopping centre. Food in breakfast and room service was great. They have excellent chefs. Room with sunset view. Food and spa services are priced reasonably for 4* hotel.

Cons:
Great upkeeping but still room for improvement (towels abit old, bathroom door is cracked and peeling, bedsheets with minor stains)

Would think twice ???

Hotel was very average. Lets start from the beginning. Staff are friendly. Slightly slow. The room i stayed in was a medium to large kind of space. Looks run down. Could deffo do with a revamp. And some paint. Quiet dull and boring looking. Toilet gets blocked easily. Carpets looked manky. Seaview wasn't much of a seaview. Just a glimpse. Didnt have a great stay. Breakfast you had to wait to be seated. Flies everywhere. Plenty of food options but food got cold easily. The only best lart of the hotel was the decor to enter the hotel.

Just your average hotel

Hotel is an average hotel. We only booked one night, if we were to book longer i think we would have checked out after first night. The room had a big iron burn mark on the carpet. The bed is uncomfortable, it was supposed to be a queen size bed. Now im not tall but my feet were hanging off the bed. The staff are really nice and all smiles. Also hotels.com stated that it was a 24hour check in. We arrived on a morning flight thinking we could check in, freshen up and go out, only to be told check in is at 3pm. The recpeptionist was really nice and said we could register, and she will try to get us a room ready earlier and then she will call us when room is ready. We never received the call.

Breakfast is really good. A lot of variety. Although ommelette was undercooked. This isnt a hotel i would book again. Area is a bit further away from the beach etc. If you want to stay by beach then i would advise book in the area Cenang.

A disappointing stay

The room was warm as the air conditioning took time to cool the room. Even then, the room wasn’t sufficiently cool for me.

The carpet wasn’t vacuumed and the pillowcase has black stains. The towels didn’t smell fresh and looked dull.

The room card didn’t work and needed to be activated on a daily basis. This was inconvenient for me as I had to make a trip back to the lobby from my room to have the card reactivated.

My request for late check out was approved during check in. I reconfirmed in the morning during breakfast about late checkout but at 11.30am, I received a call to check out if not I will be charged RM50.

Overall, a disappointing stay.

Its our 1st time in Langkawi. We had a great time there. Location of Adya is good as it is within reach to tourist attractions. Ample parking space and wide spread of breakfast.
We had booked 3 rooms for our stay. Staff are friendly and polite.

Nice large and modern room with a balcony and view. Unfortunately, the carpet was disgusting - stained and crusty. There was also a bit of a smell of unpleasant spices, perhaps coming from the stains that may have been made by spilled food. The mattress was comfortable but the blanket was unattractive and felt cheap. The bathroom was plain and grim but served its purpose. Internet connection was so so.

Outside there are two nice pools with some lounge chairs around.

Breakfast was impressive with a large selection for people of all worlds, a cooked-to-order egg station, and a roti station. Attentive staff cleared tables and assisted in seating. My only complaint is the food crumbs left embedded in the place mats from previous diners - they don't replace them between guests.

At check in they insisted on a cash deposit of 100 MYR and pushed back on taking a credit card for it, which seemed petty.

Nothing interesting nearby, but use Grab to ride cheaply to anywhere. In most cases it was not even half the taxi fare.

I stayed in a premier suit for three nights (More than RM800 per night). The view was wonderful. The staff members were Kind. However, the hotel facility was very bad. I could not enjoy hot water for two nights. The temperature was around 35 centi degree. I called the maintenance staff but they couldn't fix it. I would not come back this hotel again.

A Good Hotel at a Great Island

It was a good stay. Very decent people. The breakfast was really good. However, they had to change our room on the second day due to cigarette smoke coming into the room from the adjoining rooms through the air con vent. They didn't ask us at the check-in whether we are non-smoking or smoking. Later we were shifted to a non-smoking floor.
They could also pay a little more attention to cleanliness of the rooms.

If it was only away from the road...

The Adya is a fairly new hotel with good facilities. A big problem is road noise (motorbikes should be outlawed) . The windows don't seem to eliminate anything which comes from the outside. I had requested a room towards the sea, yet that made no difference. The room was nice, large and clean, but the bathroom walls could do with a good scrub ! The staff were great!!
