“This is an Islamic Hotel.” Which is fine but we did not know when we booked on Expedia. We felt a little uncomfortable and the rules in the hotel were a bit stringent. Older hotel but a lot of space which was a bonus. Bathroom had a strong sewage smell and we did have to kill a cockroach on 5th floor. Not my favorite stay.

Islamic Hotel

I love the fact that they put a Quran in every room and the qiblat is set straight. They definitely has planned this before construction. With it cleanliness and just a step away from getting and enjoying the chocolate galore, this is definitely a hotel recommended to others.

It was a great stay. However hotel need to consider to have varieties of foods for breakfast for example to have more protein based food such as fried chicken, chicken sambal, or maybe beef rendang. To have butter instead of margarin for the bread.

I tot there will be local travel agent around the place and money changer. No.. there was nothing. Now i know why i get it cheap as the location is not convient. Nice hotel, comfort, easy access and friendly staff but need to improve the time of check in because I had to late check in by 1:15 hours because the room is not ready. Also time of housekeeping... I arrived at the room at 1.00pm (2nd day) but the room has not been cleaned.

This hotel nearby shopping complex and easy to shopping. I will choose this hotel again, but hope with improvement.. Thank you

Good room but some issues

The room was good. Food court and market and mall next door. Friendly staff. But some issues. There is no pool and we were told to go to neighbour building pool. But management there was not aware and angry and send us away. Very embarrassing. On 2 of 4 mornings breakfast not ready at all at indicated time (7), one day we had a trip booked, other day the return flight so could not have it. Good price option but we will look for another one next time.

Nice hotel

Nice location with shopping mall, food courts and shops nearby. If you are a beach lover, please stay near to Cenang area as this hotel area is not suitable for you.

Nice hotel, near to a eating and shopping gallery.

Had a comfortable stay in the hotel, there was a convenience store just across the road and even a shopping area. Although it was a 30 min drive to the airport, getting a taxi would only be RM68, RM50 if you were to rent a car. Each room was provided an ironing bloard, so it was a plus. If they had provided a hairdryer as well, it would've been even better.

The hotel charged for petty things such as an extra towel, blanket or pillow. There was a small $6 added fee for a tax of some sort, that should have been included in the room cost originally, not a surprise fee at check-in.

Too far from most attractions in Langkawi

Not recommended if you're using taxis or tour for sightseeing - this hotel is located in Kuah area of the island which is 40 to 60 mins away from most places of interest and the beaches. The closest attraction to the hotel is the Langkawi Eagle Square - 10 mins by taxi from HIG Hotel.

Not much choices of food and entertainment around , as it's a Muslim community - 98% Malay food, 2 % either Chinese or Indian food. Entertainment is zero in this area. There is a few small older shopping outlets catered mostly to locals.

Limited choice for this location for everything.

Quiet and far from tourist scene

The hotel served it's purpose. Great staff, delicious free full buffet breakfast with plenty of variety. Rooms are clean and hotel staff are very accommodating. Was about 30 minutes taxi ride from everywhere but taxi's are fix priced per zone so you'll not be ripped off by taxi's anywhere in Malaysia. For fine dining I tend to taxi out to Cenang Beach. I had a wonderful experience with HIG.
