First. The lighting is horrible , the toilet tank does not stop flowing water makes it very eerie . So we checked out in the night (we checked in at 6pm , checked out at 8pm)and stayed in another hotel which is much better. And the receptionist promised to have someone call me the next day but all nonsense .

rundown hotel and room. Old yellowish towels. yellowish pillow case, pillows very.old, yellowish and with stains. asked help to change for better pillow answer given by the staff \"all the same and if u want you can go and buy new pillow. the next morning unable to call reception counter frm the room came down all the way, asked for a bottle of drinking water but the staff told me housekeeping staff not here yet, later when they clean the drink will give it to you. The storage room that keeping the water are actually less than 10 steps away frm the reception counter. but she is lazy to get the key, open amd get the water for her guest. poor service.

the hotel and room are old. pillows casing yellowish colour, the worst is the pillows all with stains, so disgusting (horrible) and very old, yellowish towels. asked help to change the pillows one of the staff said \"all pillow the same, if you want better pillow go and buy\". called the reception can't get through went down all the way to reception counter just askee for a bottle of drinking water, was told that housekeeping staff not here yet, will give it to u when the staff clean the room. their storage room that keeps the water is only less than 10 steps away frm the counter but the staff is so lazy to get the key, open the door and get for the guest. hotel but no hospitality service. will never go back anymore.

The property no seen as the photos shows as glowing as, the place need a rehabilitation not just shine paint, room lights need to be fixed , only on light is running, no elevator is a issue a least lift for bags or service man how would help on carry the bags to flower 1 or 2

It was bad experience for me which let me leave the hotel and 1 night money, where I find different hotel less that this price with better facilities.

Noisy area, the room amenities are.not properly maintained. The actual blows so noisy. The curtain not providing shade for the room. Smell not good. Would not recommend to other. Luckily I did stay.for only one day and change to other hotel with near price.

NOT come back to stay here again

We were accidentally booked this hotel because it looks very good in the website and not far from Kuah Jetty but when we got in to the room It was extremely different from the website.
The room was very old, dirty, bed sheet getting yellow, humidity smell from wardrobe.

Unfortunately, we accidentally break the key and we had only try to explain because it was unexpected situation. We understand If there was a charged but it was a crazy thing that who want to break the room key!?
The reception staffs were very dissapointed and being rude. One reception talked to us like we were stupid guest and always point her finger to our face.
Finally, we paid 20MYR for the key without apologize after being rude.

Btw, the housekeeping guy is very helpful and kindness. Thank you so much.

We won't recommend to stay here because of the manner of staff not the hotel.

Clean and Value for money

Value for money. However whatever is there in the room already is what you get. Very difficult to get any additional items on need. The shower was not working properly (lot of water wastage). I reported it to the front desk on the very first day. Again on the second day too i intimated to a different person in the front desk but no action was taken for all the five days we stayed there. It did not cause much trouble for our stay but this is an indication on the poor responsiveness of the staff.

You get what you pay for

Based on the photos on Expedia, I thought I was getting a simple, but very clean and adequately spacious room. I was wrong. The pictures were taken at certain angles and in good lighting, which made them look better. The room was very small and in a state of obvious disrepair. There was one employee who spent all day cleaning, and he did a good job, but the place needs repairs. The security bolt on my door was half missing, and next to the door handle, it looked like someone had broken in before. The walls looked stained. The wall above the head of the bed had holes where small light fixtures used to be, but now they were empty holes with wires inside. The bedding was white but had so many yellow stains. There was a wardrobe, but its location was awkward. It was impossible to have the wardrobe door and the bathroom door open at the same time. As for breakfast, don't even bother, unless you're the only one in the room. When I walked in the first time, there were about 15 people sitting down. There were only two kinds of crappy cereal and the milk had run out. A staff member walked in, and took an empty food tray out to the kitchen. When she walked back in, all that she had brought was enough scrambled eggs for two people, maybe 7 pieces of roti, and one loaf of white bread. I quickly learned not to bother with breakfast, except for having some coffee. The location is good if you arrived on the ferry and need some quick, but otherwise, no. It's far from all the touristy places.

Wonderful hotel staff

All the staff are very helpful and went all the way to make our stay comfortable, especially Mala. Location is good too. My main complaint is that the hotel is in poor condition, air conditioners are not working well, toilet cannot flush and water leakages along the stairs. Rooms should be provided with basic amenities like electric kettles and cups.

The worst hotel I've stayed. Not clean at all, the lobby was so smelly, the air conditioned doesn't work at all, even the staff at the front desk doesn't know to speak well English except the Indian staffs. Not worth for money at all . The environment of the room is not exactly what shown here online.

Terrible. The receptionist lied that there were no rooms on the first floor (there was no escalator), so we were placed in 320 (on the second floor). There were a couple of lizards in the room and lizard feces all over the window, so we were moved down to 220 (surprise, there were rooms available!). This room had a lizard too, but it disappeared behind a cupboard.
The room itself was old - paint peeling off and all the fittings/furniture was old.
Housekeeping washed my bathroom once in my five day stay - despite making requests.
The corridor areas carpets were so dirty - they had not been washed in years.
Overall, this was a terrible experience and I would never stay here again.

Great Staff and Location

The hotel location is fantastic, the staff are wonderful, the hotel manager is a great person who can solve everything with a smile.

I was really pleased with such a stay.
small things could take this hotel to be one of the best of 3 stars.

Although there was no elevator and the room was in the fourth floor, but it was a good exercise.

I really recommend this hotel to everyone.

Location is only 5 mins taxi ride from ferry. Hotel recommended mangrove tour was excellent.
Rooms are dirty, sheets and towels were very worn out. Air conditioner was very noisy. Kids running around the hallway late at night. Breakfast was better than bread and coffee only. Not pretty neighbourhood. If you are sleeping only, this hotel is acceptable.

The hotel is situated on the easy side of the island away from the more popular touristy west side. It cost 10rm in a taxi to the ferry port where you can find local shops and places to eat etc. This is also where eagle square is, a local supermarket and legends park.

It cost 30rm in a taxi to get Tongue airport and west side of the island. It's also 70rm to hire a car for a 24 hour period and fuel is 2.10rm a litre.

The hotel is close to night markets, which are held twice a week, as well as a large selection of places to eat.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our room was cleaned daily and we were provided with fresh towels and drinking water.

Our room had breakfast included but breakfast consisted of bread and butter and that was it. On a couple of the days we did how ever have the option of rice and noodles. The toaster does not work and there is a certain lack of consistency with serving times and range of options.

The hotel is situated on the main road which is busy daybed night. If you're at the front or on the side of the hotel sleep can be rather difficult.

You're also situated directly oppsiteva mosque which for some reason feel it necessary to have 4 large speakers going off at 6am which are loud enough to wake the dead.

The air con in the room was noisy and barely worked so on the warner nights were also uncomfortable.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the wifi which is onlynavailable in reception wasn't bad.

needs a lot of care

I did not appreciate having spent a lot extra for breakfast, and when i got down to the dining room, i only found bread and a toater! Not even jam to put on it... I asked the reception it was a joke, but they assured me this was a continental breakfast. Which Continent, i am not sure... Also the walls were dirty, the carpet was dusty and i tried as hard as possible not to think about the bed! Air conditioning had trouble, and we warm all night.

Overall is good, but not satisfied with the hygiene and cleanliness of the room. On the first day that we arrived, there was a sanitary pad left on the top of the cupboard and after room service the laundry was still left in the room.

Broken window. Lights not working. Air-conditioner rattly and noisy. 'Buffet' breakfast was toast and jam !!! No crockery, ate off styrofoam plates and cups. No lift and I have a sore knee and we were on third floor.

This is a one star hotel

Unless you are a backpacker and prepared to listen to the mosque on the other side of the road at night and early in the morning, then don't stay here. If you are prepared to carry your bags up the stars with no lifts then don't stay here. If you are prepared to put up with dirty linen on the bed, then don't stay here. If you are happy to accept that the toilet, shower and sink open directly to your bed then don't stay here.

Had a wonderful experience in Citin. Short distance from Jetty. Staffs are very friendly. Check-In and Check-Out timings not as per other hotels. Your Check-Out time is too 12 but Check-in time is 2 which are not as per other hotel standard. Also did not provided as hour timing as per request which other hotels are providing for the customers. But, Citin is charging for the hours that is not expected. You may provide some grace hours for the customers to do check-out with out charging them. Also you can follow the check-in and check-out time as per other hotels. Provide facility to include breakfast while booking by online.

More of a Back Packer hotel

1st room without tv, tv bracket was in room but tv missing, Aircon didnt work. Complaint and was given another room, aircon worked but with only one setting, no remote control. I was okay with this as i'd rather be cold than hot in room. Breakfast was bread or toast with BLOBS of MARGERINE/BUTTER and Jam and fruit, nothing else. Orange Juice was orange cordial. Had to leave the hotel on last night of stay as I was disappointed.

Our family of 5 stayed there for 6 nights. Quality of room service: Very poor (towels changed alternate days, toilets not cleaned daily, rubbish not cleared on one day. Bed sheets were not clean when we went there - blood stains and grey stains seen. A cleaner was lying on the bed when we arrived at our hotel room (door was open). Breakfast not great at all - white bread, with butter, and jam and coffee, orange juice.

The whole hotel is very dirty and you get a feeling the management does not care about the hygiene. There is a very strong smell of mold in the whole hotel, including in the lobby and the smell is so strong in the room that you start to worry if it is dangerous to stay there. The bed linen where very dirty with big stains that the staff must have seen but still choose to use the dirty sheets. The bathroom had not been cleaned properly with hair still in the shower and a sink that was covered with old dirt. They forgot to give us towels and the complementary water, but the staff in the lobby fixed it quickly. The room was much smaller than stated in the description and the City view I had booked showed up to be a view of the inside of a ventilation-shaft. It was also irritating that we missed the breakfast because they closed 30 minutes to early. What is positive is that the staff is nice and helpful, the location is central (but not if you want to go to the beach). The price is very low, but given the condition of the hotel I think it should be even lower.

Great value, location, staff and is clean/works!!

This is a very good hotel for the money. Location is great with shops either side and in front (including wan Thai restaurant which serves the second best rated food in kuah, at a reasonable cost - big lunch 32rm for 2). Taxi is 8 rm to ferry terminal, 25rm to cenang.
For those that asked the same question I did - where is the most important place to stay ?? Kuah has a lot of shops, locals and markets. It's dead at night with little really going on here, but worth a nights stay, head to cenang if you want to be closer to Bali - esk night life with heaps of hotels restaurants, bars, shops and tourist activities (best swimming beach)
Head to tangah beach if you wanna be close but not in the middle of it, really peaceful, great beach for a swim (can have waves n a lil rip, but nothing to wet your pants over) and still has some shops, restaurants etc. I spent 1 night in kuah, 2 in tengah, which I feel gave me a good mix and feel for both places, just wish I could stay on the island for longer.
To summarise citin is great value for money, centrally located, clean and staff are very helpful and friendly. All this should take into account what price range your pay for a bed.

Hotel is a fair walk from the jetty but close to Kuah city centre. Although this hotel was value for money (except the breakfast was below average), next trip I would prefer to stay in Chenang. The front desk staff were very helpful. No public buses on Langkawi so taxi to everywhere at a fixed (inflated?) price.

Perfectly Average Hotel Gives Good Value

If you like to hear chanting blaring from a loudspeaker at 6:25AM, this is the hotel for you! Staying at the back of the hotel does help. Also, ask for a room with a window, unless you like the dark at all hours. The rooms are small, but very clean. This would have been a fantastic value if breakfast was included with our room, but it was not. Still, this is a good value.

Besides they didnt remind me the breakfast did't attached with my room so i have to pay it for 12MYR , i would rather go to the delicious buk kuh teh store near around in the same price . And the room is quite clean and near Kuah town lol~

citin stay was just ok. u can choose better ones

This is a budget hotel. We get what we paid for. it doesnt have any luxury treatments. AC was working. new towels and soaps were given every day. but felt that the bedsheets were not so neat.
hotel staff was very supportive.

Safest hotel in Langkawi

No windows, No toothbrush & toothpaste, No shaver, No Complimentary bottled water, No Free breakfast (paid rm12/day), No In-room safe, No Coffee/tea maker, No Refrigerator and No elevators. Need to get hot/cold water near the front desk. Noise came from the bathroom 24hrs/day, seem came from generators at the void area, noise also from the coffee shop below. Bed sheet not clean, can feel bed bugs biting me.

Perfect Hotel if you rent a car or Motorbike

For the price the hotel is very nice. The room was very small, and more important very clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. We stayed here and not on the beach because we wanted to rent a car and see the entire island and all the different beaches, rather than just staying in a Resort.
The Breakfast was more like a lunch buffet with fried rice and fried noodles. For me this was perfect as I prefer lunch over breakfast always...

Citin Hotel close to Market

The hotel is close to market, so getting food is simpler.
The staff is also helpful in getting sight-seeing tour packages at reasonable rates.
My room (in ground floor) size also was decent, though other people complained about their room size (I didn't get a chance to compare room sizes).

I had requested for non-smoking room, but for 1 day, I could smell smoke in my room.

Over-all this is OK hotel if you will be spending most of the time outside and need a place to sleep at night.

Nice clean small room with no windows. Perfect for resting and retiring for the night.
Will be great if refridgerator provided in the room.
Breakfast provided not much variety.
Will be great to have a lift for the rooms on the upper floors.
Parking lots not adequate for hotel guests.

Langkawi Vacation

You are going to Langkawi to enjoy the outdoors and not to hang out in the hotel all day. Consequently, you get what you pay for. I did think the hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean and tidy but you have to compromise on the size. Lack of facilities such as lounge , swimming pool , gym and so on. Overall is alright for us as we didnt stay in the hotel all the time.

OK for Kuah

It's close to Kuah shopping center. You can walk there in 10 minutes. In the shopping center, you can buy chocolates and have seafood. But there is no beach from the hotel. The room is small. The bed is not comfortable. I had a backache after one night. The personnel is polite. Overall speaking, for travellers to Langkawi, if you want to enjoy beach and sea, please select hotels around Cetang Beach. If you want to stay in Kuah, Citin is OK.

Good value for money. The hotel is not located in tourist area, but in the town centre. The shops and restaurants (mainly visited by locals) are walking distance from the hotel. There is a mosque in front of the hotel, so be prepared for early morning wake up, if you have street facing room. Breakfast is Asian, not a big selection of food. Wireless internet available in lobby, and the connection is excellent. The rooms are very clean, some of them are quite small. No elevator, it's three storey building. No sea view from the room windows. Hotel staff is very helpful.
