Very outdated

Welcoming was great and staff are very polite. Rooms were okay but very outdated. Found a cockroach dead in the bathroom and highlighted it to the staff but nothing was done about it despite them saying it will be sorted which was very disappointing.

Paid extra for the breakfast but I wouldn't recommend it. Very limited breakfast and doesn't cater for majority of diets.

Location was quite good as shops and markets were close by.

But overall I wouldn't be staying here again should I visit the island in the future

There is a night market located next to this resort and it does not turn off its loud music till midnight. In addition, the resort bistro also does not regulate the amount of noise their customers make during late night. I have to contact their reception close to midnight and I was told the bistro does not close till after midnight. You would think a resort would have a noise management in place for their customers right? No apparently. On top of this, I found a live cockroach in the bed. The shower towels were old and one of them had a hole in it. Also for the amount of money you pay for breakfast, it is not worth it. The food selection was average. Not a very pleasant stay. The resort needs to up its game.

1. I booked resort . But They send me to into a 4 story building opposite of the resort . 2, Power Black out 2 times . 1st was at11plus pm the whole hotel was in darkenss. it took them 20min or more to get it back. 2nd black during the day it just came on afyer about 10 plius min.
3. Late checkout .. they want to charge that for the housekeeping 4. The hotel was not fully book . Any case they could allow 1 hour late check out. No they did not . 5th the Check in time to late 3pm and checkout too early 12nn . May it is not worthy to stay here

They have nice seaview.
I specifically booked a room with seaview, and ended up facing backyard of some houses. Truly deceiving.
Shower tap and aircond not in good condition. Made a call to reception and that was it, no further action were taken by the Hotel to rectify.
Breakfast choices limited. The worst was the pool, the photo in the website showed attractive slides and a big pool. Nothing close. The kids pool were closed for maintenance, the slides were in poor condition

Nice hotel, central for Kuah and the Night Market

The location of the de Baron us great, just a few minutes away from the town centre and with fantastic views over Kuah bay., especially if you book a de luxe seafront view room. The grounds and pools are kept well planted and tidy, and there us also a small stretch of beach which disapears at high tide!

Reception is clean, with sample eating areas and friendly staff. The dinng rom is also in good order, clean and tidy and the breakfast (which can be included when booking) is quite adequate with hot and cold food, cereals,toast and jam etc. The rsstaursng us open throughout the day and evening, and there is also a Bistro in the grounds, by the sea front, which opens evenings.

Our toom was quite large with two double beds but it must be said that the mattresses were rather on the hard side. The bathroom was fine, with a good, hot shower but only tepid water available to the wash basin taps. The air con was very efficient.

The hotel also runs residential daytime courses so the grounds and pools are usually quiet throughout the day so - no fights for sun beds here!!

Resort was situated to close proximity to many tourist attractions area. Food is also easily available within walking distance. We have good 4 nights stay at the resort. Some rooms had been refurnished with brighter feel. Although staff number is low, we did not feel much of a short when it comes to services.

The pool needs a little maintenance as both slides were well overused. Cleanliness of the pool is something the management needs to take more attention.

A special mention of THANKS to both front office personnel (Ms. Syazwani) and housekeeping team. My child left his soft toy in the hotel and we are very grateful that they took effort to locate it and contacted us upon obtaining the toy.

It has been a pleasurable stay!

Hotel is close to many eateries which is good. Langkawi Parade shopping mall is within 15 mins walk.
The resort is lacking in maintenance. Customer service is substandard. Asking for extra pillow has to pay. Staffs are not responsive to request.

Light is too dim.

The hotel another block next to check-in counter the lighting is very dim and quite with no single staff standby. Shall we see from far, looks like it is an abandon building, i have to pay extra to change room to another block. Others condition still ok.

The worst check-in time I've ever had. Only managed to check-in close to 4pm. My kids were all tired of waiting. Rooms located at the across-building, the lobby was so dark and no one attended at the lobby. Lastly, too bad for us it was raining during check-out, hotel need to install longer awning, we were all wet while loading our luggages into the car since have to drive to the main lobby (across building). These seriously have to be improved.

1. The air conditioning is not cool enough.
2. The connecting door is not necessary as we can hear sound from next room especially when people stay late and chat at night. Should close it and seal up.
3. Cigarettes smells enter thorough the door gape and polluted the room. It's so terrible and unbearable sleepless night.

Well located hotel.

Nice hotel, right on the waterfront in Kuah town. Even has a little beach.

Mostly a hotel that accommodates and has rooms available for companies to run courses, so good for the holidaymaker as the very attractive grounds with 2 pools, furnished with loungers, tables and chairs, which are quite under-used.

Staff vere very helpful. Breakfast had from chicken curry, to toast and jam, to omelettes and cereals etc. Room - we booked a deluxe - quite large and comfortable although mattresses rather hard. Gorgeous view of Kuah bay from our sea facing room.

Well located between Kuah town, which is quite small but has interesting duty free shops and nice restaurants, and the Jeti and Eagle Square. Also has a shopping mall within walking distance. There is a night market in Kuah twice a week, mostly consisting of very good, popular, food stalls

Not a value at any price, a shabby hotel and don’t trust the photos. Thé hallways smell bad, there was no toilet paper in the room, the TV didn’t work properly and only one of the electrical outlets worked. Ran our of food at breakfast and the uncaring staff could be bothered to restock it, and the elevator is filthy and some buttons to operate it didn’t function at all. Hotel needs contract work done and better maintenance. Don’t stay here!

De Baron Resort Langkawi

Resort is conveniently located to ferry terminal, shops and parks are within walking distance.
Terrace by the water offers beautiful sights of the horizon and boats moored offshore and ships passing through the channel.
Food selection was just adequate. Ordered fish curry with rice, got a piece of fish head with very little meat.
Needed an electrical outlet by the bed, called front desk and they were not helpful in the sense they did not attempt to find solutions, they just said No. When I asked about breakfast, was told that it was not complimentary with booking. They did not provide additional info on meals as I would have paid for meals if available. Glad that I only booked a one-night stay.

The overall was good, one problem was that it was far away from anywhere in Langkawi, the sky bridge or the beach were really far, & other problem was that there was no breakfast included! Oh & also they gave us one card for our room, so basically if teo of us wanted to go out & one wanted to stay & sleep, we didn’t know what to do! If taking the card, the ac & lights would have stopped working, if not taking the card the person in the room couldn’t sleep cause she/he had to wait for others to come back to open the door for them!!!!

We had bad experience while checking in as the front office officer who was a short rounded face guy was really rude and nt helpful at all and he was very shrude and i would say was of no use. The rooms had a funny smell and so did the water. The shower had poor water presure and air cond was nt cold enough.
I will never go to this hotel ever.

Delisha has only 2-3 rooms in whole lagoon, location is good for Sea lovers, while you will not get the assistance equivalent to money you pay for, no reception, very costly. I went there with my family, i dint feel it worth the money i paid for MYR 805 for two rooms/Night..

Rooms were clean. You will have to carry your own luggage to the room no staff.. Only two ladies will be available over phone, who will help you whenever you will call them but you know it will take some time..

If you are going just to stay in lagoon and for view, its a good place, though its made of full wood and several places wood seems to be falling apart, for my family it was little scary.. I just wanted to stay one time in a lagoon over the sea, thats all i am not going to try such stay anywhere in the world. They look good only in pictures and facebook uploads..

The hotel is on a port (not a swimming place)

- they gave me a room over looking the hotel dumpster and laundry, when i asked to change it they said after two days because they are fully booked, when i came back after two days they said they room that they were going to give me is taken.
- i asked the room service to clean my room and left for a walk all he did was put one table to its place and left the room without doing anything.
- furniture is ok but not clean at all.

NICE OLD BUT MODERATE HOTEL IN KUAH & NEAR SEAVIEW

OVERALL ITS OK. OLD BUT STILL NICE HOTEL TO STAY IN PEKAN RABU ,KUAH LANGKAWI. GREAT VIEW FACING SEA. THE ROOM ALSO SPACIOUS. THE ONLY CONS IS ON FIRST DAY STAYING THE SHOWER DRAINAGE WAS FLOODED DUE TO LESS OF MAINTENANCE, BUT AFTER A COMPLAINTS BEEN MADE, IT HAS BEEN RESOLVED ON THE SECOND DAY.

Good hotel

Staff were very polite & a great spot to watch the sunset. However, this hotel does not serve alcohol and also the air conditioning units are very loud. We asked for ours to be repaired but still made a huge 'bang' throughout the night. The hotel was quite old but the pools are really nice and the garden is very peaceful with lots of plants and a pond. This hotel is walking distance to the famous eagle statue and jetty for an island hopper tour.

Very Run Down Property

The property is very run down. The corridors and rooms look very old and in dire need of renovation.
No good options available on the menu for Room service also. No Bars close by.
Air Conditioning was very disappointing. Not enough cooling in the room even when we asked them to repair.

The pool was good. The beds were comfortable. But overall, a very disappointing stay at the hotel.
The breakfast was also equally disappointing. Only freshly made omelette and toast were good. Rest all was cold and pathetic.

Ok stay!!!! But no beach or activities

We stayed at barom for 2 days. We booked superior room and requested for seaview but we were not given as the whole seaview rooms were booked by local tour group.Aircon in the room was not working and we started sweat so we requested new room . We were given delux double bed room. Overall stay was ok only and the locality was very far from beaches. Suitable for quiet and relaxation. Breakfast was also ok type not much variety. Only part we liked is the seaview cafe where we relaxed after the day.

This is a very jaded hotel. It is dirty, everything is worn, including the bedding. The breakfasts are limited and uninviting. On the positive side, the front desk staff were effective. We were pleased to leave and, unfortunately, cannot recommend this hotel.

Amazing outdoor space makes up for repairs needed

The grounds of the hotel were lovely. Lots of trees, flowers and seating areas. Outdoor restaurants and cafes have great views of the water and sunsets.
The pool was great for kids but lack of staffing was a minus.
Rooms were large and clean but outdated. Bed was very hard only one flat pillow given. Air con worked half the time. Carpet in hallway needs to be replaced 5 years ago.
Overall the outdoor space makes up for the rooms.

Comfortable, overlooking the beautiful Kuah bay

As this is mainly a business hotel which runs on site courses and seminars etc, although it is right on the beautiful Kuah bay it does not attract too many holiday makers in proportion to business guests. So, the lovely gardens and twin pool area are very quiet through the mid-morning to mid/late-afternoon, which makes it ideal for holiday makers to spread themselves!! The pools are not over-furnished, but as sais above they are quite under-used so there is not queue for beds most of the time. Pool towels are provided.

We booked with breakfast included. Most of the hot items are Malaysian based, but toast, jam, cereals and an egg station are all there.

If a de-luxe apartment is booked, they are quite large with a nice bathroom and comfortable beds. Cleanliness is patchy, but overall there is not much to complain about.

It is by no means 4 star but we have now been there 3 times and enjoyed each stay. There is also an annexe across the road. We have not been there but believe it to be more basic and it is not much more expensive to book into the seafront main hotel building.

It has a good location, the Kuah town centre is a 5 mins walk, a shopping mall 15 mins walk and the Jetty area, with shopping and eating facilities is a 20 min walk through the pretty Legenda park, which is also right on the coast and runs alongside a beach.

Nice stay with family at De Baron May 2015

Family vacation in langkawi. 20th to 22nd May 2015. Check in at DeBaron was at 3 pm. We reached early (and when we got off ferry at Kuah...we had directions to walk thru the Langkawi Legendas gardens - a 14 min walk and we reached the hotel )and they were kind enough to allow early check in at 1130 am itself. Quick professional staff. Courteous. Took 100 Ringitt as a room deposit and returned the same on checkout later. Room was old, but clean and nice-lovely sea and pools view. Decent wi fi, we were able to even face time folks back home with good clarity. Had 2 adults and 2 kids checked in - 2 queen sized beds given. Breakfast however only 2 coupons given by them as against my expectation that we will get 4. Minor issue. Breakfast is simple, nothing fancy but works. Egg station, toast, coffee, cereals, local nasi lemak, salads, noodle and spaghetti plus pancake and maple syrups. Three pools - the 2 pools were attached - one had slides - were v clean and kids had a great time. Evening view of sea, islands, sunset beautiful. Other pool older, ok. Hired a small Viva car in town 4 seater for 50 Malaysian Ringitt a day and we were able to doo all places incl Pantai Canag beaches and the rest of the island on our own easily and in great comfort, at our own pace. Checkout from De baron easy and professional. Kept our luggage till night in checkout area - when we returned for our ferry back to mainland.Helpful but reserved staff.

nice place

this place is a nice place for me and family..my child enjoyed with the big room and of course the pool..however a pool is too little. it is a quite place & also very close to the town..but if u think want to close the beach, can swim etc..forget it..because this hotel not suitable for that..and recommendation to the staff please please..smile and more friendly to the guest.

Not Recommended!!

when u stay at the next building across the road, the room was smelly, slow aircond, the wifi worst, small tv and no signal when raining..so funny..breakfast was so so..NOT WORTH FOR YOUR MONEY..will not recommend to others and won't return to this hotel for my next visit at Langkawi..
