From the moment we walked in the door we were so welcomed and looked after. The staff were exceptionally helpful, the room was impeccable with the most gorgeous view over the ocean, and the room service was so friendly and clean. Our room was spotless, with a lovely turn down service and treats every night. We absolutely can’t wait to visit again, thank you for the beautiful memories!

This is my favorite hotel in Zanzibar. I have stayed at the Park Hyatt Zanzibar last year and came back again this year. It is a wonderful hotel with great staff and quality accommodations. The rooms and the hotel is super clean, the food is the best and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is a plus- you can easily walk and explore Stone Town. I love the soaking bath after swimming and watching TV at the same time - very relaxing. I definitely recommend Park Hyatt Zanzibar.

I had a wonderful stay at Park Hyatt Zanzibar overall — the service, rooms, location in Stone Town, and breakfast were all excellent and met the Park Hyatt standard.

However, the beach/oceanfront experience was very disappointing. I specifically paid extra for an oceanfront room, expecting serene views, but instead the shoreline is dominated by ugly docked boats and ferry traffic, which completely takes away from the view and atmosphere. The beach area itself offers little to nothing in terms of relaxation or beauty.

It’s a great hotel, but if you’re booking for an oceanfront or beach experience, manage your expectations — it’s not what the upgrade suggests.

An absolute gem of a hotel! The building is absolutely beautiful and feels like it has been there forever, even in the new parts. The room was spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. They filter their water so you can use the taps no problem to brush teeth but they provide lots of bottled water as well. The location is perfect for exploring Stone Town, which is very safe to walk around on your own. The views of the ocean from the hotel are endless. And the staff goes above and beyond - everyone is helpful, always smiling and wants to make sure your stay is perfect. Our only regret is we didn't spend an extra few nights here.

Awesome location and view of the Indian Ocean. From our balcony we had direct view of the beach and the ocean. The room was spacious, with nice and comfortable furniture, and bedding. Very nicely decorated. Very clean and one of the best stays that we had. Staff were super nice and accommodating. We loved having drinks and appetizers outside on the deck. Live music added to the very pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely stay here again.

This was a beautiful property. The staff was beyond amazing and so accommodating. My fiancée and I wanted to use the hotel to take our engagement photos. We spoke with management to sure it was ok and they allowed us to do so. They were so pleasant about it and some of the staff actually stepped in to help that day of the shoot. Aside from the shoot, they were just great people with such good hearts and wonderful culture. I loved it there! I'll be back.

Our stay was wonderful. The room was very nice with an ocean view. My only complaint was that I asked for a \"curling iron\" and they sent up a straightener which is just the opposite...and when I plugged it in it didn't work. Also employees did not know that a USB port for charging our cell phone was built in to the back of the bedside table lamp...they seemed surprised when we pointed it out to them upon checking out. Overall the Hotel was beautiful!!!

This property is great, it’s really top tier. My only complaint is the hot water and the water pressure was a big problem for me. There was hardly any hot water. The water pressure is only good when you’re using the cold water. The staffs and Managements were super friendly and helpful.

It was good. However, it is critically important to pay attention to detail, proactively listen and address customers needs and make sure that the rooms are absolutely clean. There was some issues that I reported to the relevant folks; it was addressed but it should not have happened from the very beginning given this is a 5 star hotel. I stayed in many 5 star hotels and I would recommend to check best practices on how to improve service and accommodate customers of various kinds.

-Receptionist (Vicky )giving misinformation and try to change my word /request after failing to deliver and being yelled at ..!

-bathroom & toilet leakage also toilet flush didn’t work

I was “upgraded because they didn’t clean my room even after not being in the room for 8hrs “ I moved to the leaking room that’s upgrade

-cleaning service not provided on top of asking on arrival and was told I said or I might said no cleaning in my room which is not true

-I asked for late check out reception desk person said it will be 30$ for the time I need which was 3-4 hrs I okay it next I received call middle of night letting me know the rate was changed and it will be 30$ every hour after late check out ..! So which is which ?

I am fan of all the Hyatt and been client over 10yrs especially in Tanzania but Hyatt in Zanzibar needs a lot of work I don’t see myself returning there again

Terrible checkin and checkout experience. I had confirmed bookings for 21-26 feb. Victoria I dusted it was 20.25 upon arrival. Then after I showed my booking still on 25 I was told to check out. We had two rooms. But we’re put in two different buildings. The first night my room had lighting problems at 11pm. Nobody would pick up the phone at reception despite 30 calls. In desperation had to call emergency. Other than these major issues the hotel is great for family. À la carte is limited and overpriced. Best to go to the beachside restaurant around the corner for better food, ambiance and great pizza ( that one also belongs to Hyatt but has an Italian chef better menu and relaxed vibe). Overall staff at this hotel are super lovely. Zanzibar egg station is super slow....

The foyer area and the hotel itself is average, looks like 3 stars.
The breakfast was good.
What was absolutely outrageous is that at the ime we were checking in there was only one person at the reception, which gathered 4 or 5 parties queueing at the reception. Nothing like 5 star reception.

Amazing interior design and breakfast feast

One of the best designed hotels we've stayed in. LOVE the interior design in the room(modern-islamic). Worth paying extra for the sea-front rooms. Breakfast is an absolute feast. Location is perfect for exploring stone town. The beach is public though with fishing/tourist boats but still looks amazing.
Our only complain is our bathroom door(the one open to the bed) does not open properly and the drainage system was not working properly when we first checked in. Other than that, perfect stay.

Staff is very helpful, and they really try to go out of their way to meet your requests. I had a mosquito issue on the first day, and they changed my room immediately.
Location is very convenient too. It's right in the middle of Stone Town.
Two area that I think they need improvements are:
1. Nets around the bed do not shut very well. Two fabrics do not overlap much, so the moment, you kick the net, there is a gap, and that's how I got bitten by mosquitoes on the first day.
2. Although I booked an ocean view, the window is rather small, and in order to fully appreciate the view, you need to open the bottom half wooden windows. But because there is no net outside the wooden windows, the moment you open them, insects will come in. You kind of have to chose between no insects vs no view.

Beautiful hotel - in a perfect location to explore Stone Town. Great sandy beach in front for a swim and lovely pool. The bar food and breakfast were both really good.
Booked a sea view room because the expedia pictures look like there is a balcony in that room. Was disappointed when we arrived and there was no balcony. otherwise a perfect stay!

Beautiful location and one of the best places to stay in Stonetown, but had problems w the operation of the AC, toilet and TV in our room. Staff repaired it. Gorgeous architecture and lush atmosphere but lacking in some minor details— lunch by the pool was so so but breakfast buffet is excellent. Would expect a bit more satisfaction for the price per night.

Stayed here for one week and enjoyed it. The hotel is on a fairly busy beach in Stone Town. Breakfast was excellent, dinners were sometimes good and sometimes not but the salad bar was great. It is safe to walk around Stone Town with plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, fruits and spices for sale. There is a nice ice cream store right across from the hotel and although most places take US$ there is a money exchange very close by (on the other side of the building tunnel with good rates). You can hire a boat to go to Prison Island and see the giant tortoises right on the beach of the hotel. There is a night market in the gardens close by where you can try local foods such as Zanzibar pizza, grilled seafood and sugar cane juice. It seems to be open daily around 6:30 pm and inexpensive. The best beach on Zanzibar was Kendwa Rocks, the coolest adventures were swimming with sea turtles and dolphin pods.Taxi to airport is $15 and you can bargain with a driver (of which there are many) to take you on day tours around the island. Tourism is big here so visa upon arrival is easy and people are friendly.

Rooms are super luxurious, food is excellent, staff somehow make it feel like a small hotel by remembering who you are and what you're doing. Only a 10 min walk from anything in town, peaceful. Hotel was terrific, our ocean view with balcony overlooking the blue water and Dhow boats divine. The hotel is beautiful, decor gorgeous and staff all very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfasts overlooking the beach and water something to linger over. Would highly recommend, luxurious and a real pleasure to wind down in. Location for getting about Stone town and very private and secure. Book it and you will be glad you did!!

Hard to do better than this!

The hotel is spectacularly beautiful, with elegant, functional decor and solid construction. The view from my room (Park Suite) was absolutely spectacular from both balconies, and there was plenty of space for our family of three to have privacy and comfort.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and treated us like very important family members. They learned our names immediately, always had a smile ready, and were looking for ways to make our stay more enjoyable.

Can ask for a better location with exceptional service. Amongst the best I have stayed - recent as it just open in 2015 with modern facility. Perfect location to watch the sunset and fisherman sailor returning to the harbour at the end of their day.
