The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is a short walk to the Forodhani Gardens and the former Slave Market. There are several restaurants closeby especially a very popular one Lukmaan. The area around the hotel is bustling in the day and quiet at night. A taxi cannot drive up to this property so you will to do a short walk through the streets to get there. The staff were friendly and always greeted us. They were helpful when we called for assistance with anything we needed to clarify with the room. The room was very clean and maintained throughout the day. The bathroom and bedding were clean. The common areas for breakfast and by the pool were also clean. Any messes in the common areas were cleaned promptly. The bed is a firm mattress but it was comfortable. The room was quiet at night and during the day we could only hear the fountain in the main area faintly. The wifi connection was strong while we were on the premises. The breakfast was delicious offering a variety of options that changed daily. It included meat, cooked vegetables, fresh fruit, local pastries as well as coffee and tea. They prepare eggs to your liking upon request. The pool is a decent size and calm. It has a short shallow end then becomes quite deep. Beware that there is no indication of how deep it at actually is. Overall, I think the price was fair for the quality of the stay. We had an enjoyable stay at Antonio Garden Hotel and would recommend this hotel for your stay in Zanzibar.

Nice area close to amenities, basic service but nothing particularly bad. They don't clean rooms daily which isn't the best but okay for short stay. Average hotel no problems would recommend for a quick cheap stay

this hotel is amazing especially considering the cost. my initial hotel was cancelled on me at the last minute. thank heavens for that. this place is clean, close to amenities and extremely comfortable. we loved the bed.

Food: the dinner was great. we only ate it once but the chef is amazing. we enjoyed the dinner. The breakfast on the other hand was just normal. we really did not enjoy it much but it was good enough.

Bed: its no easy to find a comfy bed when travelling and this had just that. a comfy room and bed.

Premesis: the the rooms, courtyard, restaurant area and pool are kept clean at all times.

overall, this place is worth booking. we loved it.

Clean, friendly and peaceful in old Stone Town

Great staff, very clean room, well presented

TV didn't work - only 1 Arabic channel

Location - was not aware that could not get a car up to the premises and had to walk (not an issue in itself but would have been if I was with a suitcase & 1 or 2 other bags) as it is in the heart of the old town streets

It is a great hotel with a nice garden and small pool. The staff is wonderful. They could spend more energy on their restaurant and chefs to expand and deepen their craft. Otherwise a pleasant relaxing place. They use toxic fuel for their tikki torches in the garden... makes no sense as it is smoky, smelly, uncomfortable and self defeating - it drove us to other restaurants.

Fire, coconuts & bed bugs

I could overlook the kitchen explosion and the crashing coconuts at the pool. I cannot forgive that my room had bed bugs. The inital response by staff was lackluster at best. As it turned out, i was moved to another room but my room was immediately rented again (that is my understanding. I should also say that my diagnosis of bed bugs is a self diagnosis.) When i asked for some compensation, i was told to ask Hotel.com. I got half off one night.

Hotel with good restaurant

All staff were very nice. Check in fast and any problems.
The Green Lagoon Restaurant in hotel is very good. We eat Grilled Octopus with rice. It was very delicious and rice had very good nuts souce.

All things considered it’s a good hotel in the middle of the maze that is Stone Town. The only negative few points are: it didn’t seem very clean. In the breakfast a lot of street cats in terrible condition (dirty and sick and mistreated) would go to your table to ask for food, which was not hygenic. The bathroom needs renovation, the toilet was very old and noisy.

For Tanzania, great hotel. Hot water with good pressure. Refrigerator and kitchenette. Bed was hard. Noisy in Stonetown, but that is expected. Across from large school with kids until 6pm.
Clean, good housekeeping, great a/c.
The hotel is about 1 block from the road, but taxi was helpful with luggage. Booked 2 tours with front desk which seemes reputable.

Little oasis in Stone Town

Nice little oasis in the middle of Stonetown. Clean, comfortable, easy check in and check out. Shaded palm trees and pool was refreshing after strolling Stone town in the hot weather. AC was in room worked well too. Had an early flight so they packaged our breakfast to go. Great hotel for the price.

Decent hotel in the heart of the city, staff mostly friendly and food good particularly in the evening. Only downside was local noise very early in the morning from the mosque and cockerels which is hardly the fault of the hotel.

Very nice place with a nice courtyard, good location, good breakfast and nice and clean rooms (big and comfy bed), however, it seemed a little like that they may have had forgotten about our reservation, as the room we were given first (on third floor) turned out to be still occupied - we literally walked in to the room and saw that other people's stuff were spread out all over and then we have to wait a bit for them to sort out where to put us. Ended up being put in the room right next to the reception (ground floor), which was much smaller, darker and less nice. Just a small glitch as the room was still ok and luckily a huge mosquito net protected us from the mosquitos that are more plenty at ground level.

The pictures online look great, but this is a 2.5 star hotel. We did not feel safe upon arrival at night due to a lack of security and the rooms were not clean. They were able to fix the air conditioning.

All the good beaches are outside Stone Town. As such Antonio Garden is centrally located in Stone Town. The room we had was small, but it had a balcony. The room seemed clean and the restaurant was well priced and the food was above average for the places we tried. I would recommend.

The staff are helpul and friendly...a nice sense of humour in the decorative scripts all around on steps and walls
Tea coofee and biscuits and water provided in rooms. Beds and pillows are very comfortabke . NIce lighting and spacious areas to sit around the outdoor pool and bar and restaurant . A Tiny front entrance belies a spcious area that is within. Arrange your own airport taxi!! Hotel chages 20 dollars! Should be no more than 10 dollars!
Also you can get better priced excursions from the tourist info shops.

This hotel is centrally located and almost everything is a 10 to 15 minute walk. It appears that the hotel is recently renovated, but if they are not careful in a year the hotel will start to look tired. we booked a room with a kitchenette, which we did not get. |It did not matter to us so we didn't complain. For reference rooms 210 and 310 do not have kitchenettes. we over looked the pool area, which we initially thought would be noisy. However, at about 10pm the music was off. The staff were very nice and friendly with the exception of the male waiters in the bar area. They were more interested I what music was being played and provided poor service. All the other staff were great. Food was good. Pizza was disappointing but the beer was reasonable priced at about $2.00 USD a bottle (500ml) for local brew. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would stay again if we return to Zanzibar. (Note: use airport taxi to hotel as it is $15 USD instead of $20 USD each if you use hotel) arranged taxi)

Das WiFi ist instabil, man muss sich oft neu einloggen und es kommt des Öfteren die Fehlermeldung, dass zu viele Geräte angemeldet sind. Wir benutzten zu diesem Zeitpunkt 1 Gerät, das 2. Gerät konnte nicht angemeldet werden.

Der Check In war sehr unkoordiniert. Eine 2. Keycard wurde nicht ausgestellt und auch auf Nachfrage nicht ausgegeben.

Man hat beim Check In nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass es notwendig ist einen Schalter zu betätigen um warmes Wasser nutzen zu können. Erfuhren haben wir dies durch andere Gäste.

Frühstücksangebot überschaubar, aber ausreichend.

Cleaning- und Restaurantpersonal sehr zuvorkommend und hilsbereit im Gegensatz zum Personal der Rezeption.

Handtücher gab es nur 2 große im Zimmer, gewechselt wurden diese innerhalb von 3 Tagen nicht.

Late Check Out war gegen Gebühr möglich, was positiv hervorzuheben ist.

Kreditkartenzahlung war nur auf Drängen möglich, die Rezeption hätte es lieber in bar gehabt - mit dem Hinweis zum nächsten Geldautomaten.Das Gerät ist aber vorhanden und kann auch genutzt werden, die Zahlung war möglich.

Der Geräuschpegel innerhalb der Umgebung ist hoch, dies liegt aber an der Lage des Hotels.

Hôtel propre et charmant

Personnel accueillant et serviable du début à la fin (j’ai fait une nuit)je m’y suis senti bien et en sécurité à l’intérieur. On ne peut pas y accéder par voiture il faut marcher un tout petit peu. La chambre était propre il n’y avait pas de saleté ni de bêtes. Le personnel repasse dans la chambre l’après midi pour remettre un coup d’anti moustique. Petit dej ok avec fruits omelette et qques specialites. J’ai pas testé la piscine. J’y retournerai sûrement.

Beste overnattingssted i stone town!

Veldig fint opphold! God service! De hadde gode rutiner ved å jevnlig komme å spraye myggspray på rommet vårt. I tillegg til å åpne vindu og lukke tidsnok før kvelden. Kom også å pakket inn sengen i myggnetting lenge før kveld.
Kjekke folk som jobbet der og god frokost og mat generelt.

Vi var 4 uker totalt på forskjellige steder, og dette var det beste.

Fantastisk perle med god beliggenhed. Hyggelig og afslappende atmosfære, hyggelig restaurant. Generelt et super charmerende sted, roligt trods at det er centralt placeret.
Vi fik lov at tjekke ind en time før, hvilket var en super service da vi også rejste med et barn. Værelserne er mega lækre med aircon, og badeværelse med både koldt og varmt vand og vandtryk, hvilket ikke altid er tilfældet her på Zanzibar.
