Please find somewhere else. This is a company that is very well known in sri lanka. We staed at cinnamon lakeside super room......with no lake view. Apparently thats more. It was £200 for 2 nights. A Monday and Tuesday. No breakfast. Pretty much same as london price and same room, minus sick stain on wall and floor (fingers really crossed it was sick). Ooooo and the worst bit (for me....appreciate its not going to bother everyone). No balcony and couldnot open windows so for 3 days / 2 nights we had a/c on constant. Now both have smokers cough. Great.

There are just better places to stay to be honest. With better food and a better vibe. Wasnt great

The acclimed and expensive Royal Thai had 2 unruly children loud and vlimbing furniture and running in and out which disturbed our meal.

Great amenities, great ambiance, love the feel. Great breakfast too. Loved the variety and choice. The Sri Lankan selection was great. Staff are very friendly and courteous. But the front desk employees seem not empowered at all. Had to check every minor thing, including the Expedia voucher with back office. The electronic key card had to be changed 3 times and it still failed to work regularly. Room cleaning staff always forgot to leave something including water. But they fix all the mistakes very promptly and my experience was positive. Will definitely stay again.

I am trying hard not to be negative because I want them to do well. However there were a number of mishaps and experiences that made my experience not so great. After dinner at the Chinese restaurant at the hotel, I wanted to go in to the outside patio bar to get a cocktail and listen the live music - they didn’t let me in because I was wearing my Birkenstocks. They told me that all men had to wear shoes because a lot of gangsters come in flip flops and make trouble. I was disappointed that after being a paying guest at the hotel, they didn’t have a system in place to accommodate already screened guests. I had no problem eating at he most expensive restaurants at the property wearing my sandals. Ironically, Sri Lankan national costume for men is a long sleeve shirt, sarong and flip flops or sandals. Matter of fact most prominent politicians in Sri Lanka wear flip flops! My night continued to go down as I moved to the lobby bar with my family to have night cap before calling it a night. All I wanted was a sugar shot of whiskey and not a double which I reiterated to the waiter at least twice - he kept asking me if I wanted a double. Anyway, the two of us received our single shot of Glenlivet 12 yo and enjoyed it. I asked to settle the bill and they said they didn’t have anything on record of me ordering anything but overcharged me by double the price and never apologized. Although I settled the bill in full, I felt taken advantage of.

This is a decent hotel but not excellent I would say. Looks old and needs lot of attention to finer aspects of the rooms and building. Location is certainly very good if you have a lake view room. Pool is also good and large. Food is average with very less sitting space as compared to the room accommodation ( I had my B/F standing all the time ). I had to call for proper toilet kits all the time... Over all not very bad but not very good as well... to stay if you get a good price deal.

The hotel in general is excellent however they run very loud club style events in the outside restaurant until 1am to 2am and any room facing the lake is almost shaking with the noise, so if you stay and don’t want to party then ask for a room not facing the lake. Zero sleep had after a long haul flight from uk and with early train next day so felt like a very expensive sleepless night.

Great place to stay on first night in SL

Great stay here on my first night in Sri Lanka. Really clean, modern, and everything you would expect from a hotel of this quality. It's also very close to Colombo Fort station which is useful if you are going to continue the trip by train! I didn't use the pool but had a drink there and it looks great - one note was that the service was quite slow! Breakfast options were vast. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a large and busy hotel, quite convenient to the train station, and situated on one of Colombo's lovely lakes. It felt like a Vegas property, absent the casinos. My room was okay -- reasonably comfortable and business like. The big attraction are the numerous restaurants, shops and entertainment options. Plus, a pool that is open to 9 p.m. My favorite thing was swimming in the huge, almost entirely empty pool, under the night sky, with the giant Lotus Flower Tower all lit up overhead. I also had a great dinner at the buffet restaurant. I only stayed a night between arrival from a train in the late afternoon until an early morning flight the next day. This was a solid choice for that.

This is a fancy place, the lobby reminded me of a cruise ship. There was even live music! The swimming pool is large and pristine, and you can watch a variety of birds in the river while you soak in the pool. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the facilities are first class and the dinner buffet is amazing.

It’s not really this hotel but there was an electrical issue in the room I was booked into so they moved me to another hotel close by. That hotel was not as nice and put me in a twin room when I had paid for a king. Then they finally moved me to another room that is connected to other guests. Not worth what I paid for at all. Unimpressed.

Check in process was slow and took about 25 mins. It seemed that there was constantly some sort of private party in the pool area with incredibly loud music which could be heard throughout the hotel even into the early hours of the morning. Doors to rooms were not sound proofed at all. Rooms were a good size but not the cleanest. Staff were very friendly however.

Service staffs specially staffs at pool bar and security near lobby lift need to be much more friendly and need to talk to guest. I found that hotel staffs only do their duty no one like to talk or smile to a guest , i stayed 4 nights not even one time a breakfast staff ask me if i like tea or coffee so these things they do better,

I like mention HK team on 6th floor and gym team they are doing fantastic job , smile and they love ti talk to guest.

We booked into the Executive Floor which gave us access to the Executive Lounge - \"The Library\" with Bar facilities. The service there is fantastic.

I had the opportunity to meet both Bar Managers - Ajit & Azme. I also met the two Bartenders on duty - Tehan & Samitha. their attention to detail is outstanding. All are very capable young men who provided service with a smile.

On the night before my departure, I hosted an evening for a few friends at The Library. The service was outstanding, and they also made sure that I received the applicable discount for guests from the executive Floor.

Central Colombo hotel overlooking the lake with a large pool area. The staff are very welcoming and the hotel has a high standard of cleanliness. The breakfast buffet and evening buffet are vast and tasty. There are 2 other restaurants in the hotel which are also pretty good although not as highly rated as restaurants in the other Cinnamon hotels. Gym, Lobby bar and the Library bar all good.
There are renovations to one area of the hotel just now but these didn’t cause any problems at all with our stay.

My stay is good. I like the place. The room is clean and the food is superb in the Thai Restaurant only disappointing is we need to make reservation in that restaurant and the front desk should inform us upon checking in about those details to avoid disappointment especially to the inhouse guest. Luckily, the man in the restaurant was able to accommodate us. During my stay, I was planning to extend for a night here since I cancel my Movenpick reservation due to the location I was trying to ask for the lesser rate, I was expecting it will be less since it is already a direct booking but what I don't like is the two ladies in the front desk discussing my issue in their local language, which for me is not a good hospitality practice. I told them directly about it and they don't even say anything to me. So I decided not to extend my stay but Over all it is indeed a good one especially the waiter in The Library.

Location - the location is very good with a great view of the lake and the pool.
Staff - the behavior of staff is very unprofessional & unfriendly. They would hardly respond to you, very arrogant & not helpful at all.
Check-in took around 40 minutes, not even a chair offered, no welcome drinks.
Breakfast time was a mess too - had to repeatedly ask the staff for coffee. After repeating for 3 times and to different people, finally the coffee came in about 15 minutes
Amenities: Amenities were decent but they do not provide dental kit. I even called and asked for it but still didnt get it.
Overall, the property is grand and good but services & staff make your stay quite bad. They should highly improve upon it.

We stayed in a junior suite, rm 382. While it was spacious with a setting of 1 bedroom, 1 separate lounge, 2 toilets and balcony, it's old and tired. We chose junior suite because we're staying for 9 days, so needed space to move around and not feel cramped as is usual with standard rooms, so it served this purpose well. However quite a few cons:
Room is old and tired, can do with renovation. Water from the tap outside on the balcony continued to leak and the floor was wet. Sink drain is partially blocked. It was half heartedly attended to when we first notified, then the drain slowed again in next 3 days. We couldn't be bothered and put up with it. Some of the housekeeping staff were lazy, didn't make the bed properly. I do it a lot better than them and that's what I ended up doing, making the bed that was made by the staff. They didn't care to replace the towels after removing the ones on the floor so we ran short of towels, and gowns. One of the days we used 1 hand towel between the two of us and hung it outside so it would dry between the usage. They never gave us a gown again. I had to request them to vacuum the floor, even then it wasn't done properly. We're offered daily complementary hi-tea at the Library which was great, however the communication between the hotel & the Library was non-existent. The Library didn't know of the offer & each time they'd to verify which was a bit annoying. Same problem when we ordered from poolside bar. We'd paid but we're charged again.

I chose this place because during previous visits it had been an oasis of peace and tranquillity. Nothing could have been further from the truth this time! It was teeming with people, and the staff (obliging, as always, to the best of their abilities) seemed overwhelmed with just how many people they had to deal with. Breakfast was a farce all of its own. People were poaching each others' tables, and we even had breakfast for some parts of it standing up! The whole atmosphere of the place is like a airport departure lounge, and the guests seemed to reciprocate- littering the place, putting their feet up and snoozing on the lobby settees, etc. The joint, perhaps in a bid to increase profits, is definitely sub-5 star. The proof of the pudding is that it is full, and, I guess, offers excellent value for the \"budget\" traveller- but remember that you are getting what you are paying for.

Facing grounds with regular concerts playing music until midnight, 3 nights in a row. Guess this might have been different if at rear of hotel. Saturday night noise from a night club until 4am. Service from room service little disappointing. Ordered ice bucket, forgot, reminded and never came. Staff on desk a lobby helpful. Breakfast Restraunt too small for hotel. Difficult to get seat some morning but staff attentive.
