Whilst in bed,at 11 pm a tour group arrived on my fllor,they were all extremely noisey and showed no consideration to sleeping guests.I had booked a 2 am wake up call but was woken by this group at 11,i opened my door twice...to confront them..at 11.15 and again at 11.50 when i raised my voice to them all..it was unneccessary as management should of requested and quieter transition to their rooms when thay checked in..

Good hotel well located for Colombo

This is a well located hotel with an enjoyable view on the ocean. Rooms were comfy and we slept well on our rooms on 3rd and 4th floors (ie no big noisy from busy road). Staff were attentive but seemed disorganised: we got one room much later then the 2pm check in time, one bag which was not mine was left in my room and bizarrely we were called to pay a bill from a restaurant were we did not go! maybe it was just a bad day :-)

Staff promised the earth, delivered unbroken promises. Days after the promised contact from the manager, still nothing although told he would reply within 2 hours. Tv broken, charge points not working, bedside table damaged. Cancelling return trip as not even an apology let alone a resolution.

The hotel is in need of some care. We paid for a breakfast included package, which the hotel disputed and made us pay, even when we clearly showed the receipt of package. The breakfast was okay, but the food was quite bland.

Stayed here for 8 nights (for work). Rooms are dated, grungy and dirty. Dirty linen - specially the towels looked like they have been used to clean the floors.

Staff were friendly and always willing to go the distance to help you out. They should invest money towards getting new linen, giving the rooms a fresh coat of paint.

The staff are superb and the neighbourhood is very convenient. Apart from that, however, there is little reason to stay here when there are so many other options in Colombo. There was no corridor lighting on our floor, which made it feel more like a low-cost apartment complex than a hotel. The wifi was spotty, though the technician was very helpful and had it up and running as fast as he could. The breakfast is not very inviting (that's putting it generously), and is almost the same price (US$10) as at the nearby Granbell, which is fantastic and has an excellent view. The pool is tiny but serviceable (with a very friendly lifeguard), though the floor it's on is very run-down. (Strangely, one of the posted rules is No Swimming, though it's probably good that another rule is No Peeing and one more is No Acrobatics.)

Booked this hotel specifically because it says they have a gym...They DO NOT! They also don't have a spa, you can't access the roof or use the pool due to construction, and the WIFI was so bad you can't use the TV because the signal constantly drops out. The bed was comfortable but that is the only positive about my stay.

A very nice property. The management just need to look into minor issues. For example the refrigerator in my room was out of order. The guy knew, so instead of replacing it, he just brought another one and put it in the room. The breakfast is of poor quality. Juice is made not in a juicer but in a mixer by adding sugar syrup and ice. They don’t know how to prepare dosas. Most breads, 3 types all have sesame seeds. Why cannot you have just one with sesame. Those with allergy to sesame cannot have any of those. Billing takes ages, they quote in US$ but then instead of taking payment inUS$ they spend time converting to SLR and charging in Lankan Rupees. They do not have any power points in the rooms for charging devices or the kettle. You have to unplug the bedside lamps to charge your devices and use the kettle. Management needs to provide multiple power point adaptors.

Terrible Hotel Experience

I will write my experience.
1. When we checked in the staff in the counter was friendly. But several mistakes. We have been offered a double room instead of the premium room with 3 beds, I had to requested and showed my booking.
2. No fridge in the room, only 2 towels and 2 tea cups, which I have requested for 3.
3. Toilet was filling too slow, shower was leaking. Requested maintenance to fix it.
4. We had the offer for room with breakfast for 2. Every day staff told us there was no offer for breakfast in the offer given to them by Expedia. There were poor communication between the hotel and Expedia. Very frustrating.
I will never come back here or recommend to anyone.
However, staff was friendly and very obedient.

Everything is a bit past it’s best. There is no longer a proper restaurant, the pool has tiles missing and a dirty watermark around the top, there was no spa, the gym was really smelly and dirty. Did not get the room that I paid for. First said they can't give the refund. then said no change in room price. Then offered me fruit platter. I said give me complimentary breakfast and they said no. After I had settled and unpacked room service came to give me the proper room but it was too late. Also, if you are planning to work remote during night time, wifi is very bad. Service was very poor. Waited over an hour for 2 drinks. An hour for a fruit salad and ice cream. Paid the extras the next morning then phoned and asked to pay again. Paid at the hotel for airport shuttle and then the driver ask for fare again at the airport. Stone dust as work going on at the entrance. Hairs found between the bed, was disgraceful. No one seemed to know what the other staff was doing. A piece of marble fell off the wall and hit my toe.
Was looking for somewhere nice to stay before flying home but ended up stressed by this place.
Nice view of the Colombo skyline. That was all.

The property is in a good location & it look good on the outsite.
The view from the room was not good - quite shabby at the back parking area.
I feel the value for money is not that well as rooms were large but the quality is not upto the mark. Bathroom pot had issues.
Pool area is amazing and the view from there is quite nice.
Overall, it can be made much better if they focus on fixing the issues in the rooms/bathrooms. The quality can be much better. This can help them reach 5 star services

Central location for a very reasonable price. Walk to Galle Face Green, Liberty Plaza, 1 Galle Face mall. Staff was incredibly helpful. Bathrooms had rain shower head and spray in case you prefer more pressure (which I do). Beautiful pool - didn't get to take advantage of it due to the rain, but lovely. Restaurant was delicious - would have preferred if there was more local cuisine but there are plenty of options for that nearby.

Loved this hotel from check-in. The location is central. All of the staff here are very friendly and the hotel is clean, fresh and modern.
The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are great with all the toiletries that you might need.
If I had any criticism it would be that there seemed to be little in the way of clear vegan options at breakfast and in the restaurant at dinner. However with a myriad of restaurants and cafes nearby this caused us no problems.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

They charge for the slippers that other hotels usually provide for free. Even three star hotels I have stayed at. The gym was lacking a lot of machinery, cool water, air conditioning and light, even though I went at 08:30 and it's supposed to be open from 06:30 AM. The staff are polite and friendly but they take a long time to get things done such as check out and the whole place seems a little disorganised. We ordered room service for two people and we didn't get enough cutlery for is to eat with. The WiFi , room temperature, TV channels and the cleanliness of the room was of ok standard but their overall service needs improving for the prices they charge to be honest for a four star hotel.

The location is really good. The pool is on TOP of the roof. Very nice views from there. The sunset was great. The staff is great. Super friendly and helpful. All smiles. Our first room was close to the elevator and it bothered me. After talking to them they moved us to a very quite and bigger room. So nice. The breakfast is very delicious. The chicken curry is so good. I will def stay here again. Btw, you can bring your own booze to the TOP and have it there. How cool is that?

Awesome hotel for great price

The stay was great. Staff was so helpful. I did not even have to open a door or lift my luggage from taxi to elevator. Front desk staff answered every question I had about the hotel, the city or even best places to eat, shop or visit! Rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. Quite hotel with awesome roof top ocean view pool and roof top sky bar area. Great view of city from roof top! And great ocean view room! Breakfest buffet with order your omlet your way was awesome! Most definitely recommend this place and will be back. Rates are phenomenal for all that you get here and experiencing!! Looking forward to my next stay at Wonder Hotel in Columbo!

Name changed from Dwell to Wonder at start of new year. No liquor license in bar.Had and paid for hotel car for 4 hour trip around Colombo. Driver was more interested in how much we would pay him than taking us to sights.kept saying hotel did not pay him!!Said we didn’t want to go to Gem factory!he took us there anyway. 1/2 hour wasted. After 3 hours said we had to go to a spar. We said no so he took us back to the hotel early. Lost half of tip due to bad service. Next day we had hotel car to airport.same driver.We had paid hotel but he then said if we wanted to go quickest way we had to pay 300 extra for toll. Rubbish! I paid toll he kept receipt!! Took it off his tip again! He lost out through being greedy and pushy in a way that no one else was.To sum up travel desk very disappointing due to driver. Hotel ok.and staff there very helpful and friendly. Care they still have smoking rooms! However as soon as we walked in and smelt the smoke they changed our room straight away.

We chose this hotel at the last minute. The price was excellent. When we arrived the doorman and lobby staff were there to greet us with great smiles and a wonderful welcoming feeling. Cold towels welcome drink. They upgraded our room to an ocean view. Room was delightful with little extras in the bathroom if needed and spotless. We were really happy with our choice.Wound down at the end of our evening at the upstairs BYOB bar and it was fun as it was a Friday night and quite busy for a bar with no Liquor:) Arrived in the morning for breakfast which was the only disappointment of the stay. The restaurant was only buffet. They have a great coffee bar attached so we ordered a la carte Cappuccinos. Service was horrible the omelet chef let the omelets sit on the counter 10 minutes before delivery; cold of course. The head waiter left the cappuccinos sit on the counter until they were lukewarm. They did not bring us water until asked and immediately removed our glasses instead of refill. When it came time for the bill for the breakfast and cappuccinos we waited 10 minutes for the change . The staff was not busy. It was a buffet. Very unorganized and the head waiter gave off a vibe that made out group feel unwelcome. I give the hotel a Great recommendation and assume we caught the restaurant on a bad day. I would highly recommend the hotel. PS tried the Japanese restaurant for lunch. Great staff great service.

He was very accommodating when we asked for a late check out as we had a late flight out the next day. The roof top bar doesn't serve alcohol and snack choices are limited. they should have some of the amazing Sri Lankan snacks and alcohol bar active. Spent 2 nights in Dwell. Paid a little bit more and upgraded to the superior room that had sea view. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff are very polite and helpful. The guy at the lobby helped to look out for the pick me driver and spoke to him to direct him to the hotel. After 25 min of waiting he advised to cancel and book another. There is always someone opening the door when you enter the hotel at level 1. Reception is at level 7. The breakfast range could be better, otherwise all good

the service was incredible. at 4am I couldn't move from back pain and they went to a pharmacy to get me some pain killers. they always open the door with a friendly smile. the cleaning is perfect. thorough and thoughtful.

the restaurant is ok but there are much better options in walking distance. since I don't consider much

my only complaint is the hot water. maybe I'm a spoiled American, but ... they turn off the water heater at night, so I have to call and ask them to turn it on. I'm accustomed to being able to take a hot shower 24 hours without calling anyone. when the hot water is actually on, the temperature fluctuates wildly from lukewarm to burning.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are basic but nice. Great views of the Indian Ocean and sunset from the hotel bar and pool. The staff is very helpful and courteous. You can walk to Galle Face from the hotel.
The bar doesn’t have alcohol.

Still Trying to get there!

It is obvious they are trying hard, but they have not reached a 4 star standard yet (or they do NOT know what that involves)... An empty mini-bar fridge (not even milk for your tea/coffee) was very disappointing, and a \"dry\" 4 star hotel is something that needs some getting used to (why?)!
The average staff member tried hard to please and needs to be given credit for that ... The area around has no proper facilities for dining and/or entertainment ... So that is a consideration too!

I had a great mini vacation at Dwell! The location is perfect as it's right downtown, the hotel and the rooms are extremely clean and well furnished. The staff was very helpful when I was asking for information and how to go around the city. The rooftop bar has an amazing view and great cocktails!
I tried the Japanese restaurant on the first floor and it was very delicious even though the portions were a little small for the price paid.

Nothing special but ok

Hotel was under renovation, only 1 lift working so took ages to go to reception. Very strange \"hotel layout' as welcome counter is on Ground Floor but Check-in is on the top floor - so its takes ages to get through the 2 'stages.. Colombo is not a nice city.

Great new hotel and central location

Comfy bed and great amenities. Staff are fabulous. Breakfast is strange, I liked it but others won’t. No alcohol served but staff are happy to store and serve your own beer and spirits (purchase from supermarket). Only annoying thing is the elevator music....

No identification of hotel from outside.Can't find without google map.Budgeted stay.Only Mini Pool.You have to go at roof top to avail a welcome drink.Adjoining building seems a shopping complex.Breakfast was poor.No Alcohol is served-BYOB Only.Overall not for Executives to stay.

very new seems setup for Japanese business visitors. breakfast mainly Japanese. only dinner restaurant is Japanese. small café which is ok. no bar, no lounge area, no alcohol in sky bar which is outside so no good in monsoon season !

Short Stay

The staff is very nice and the hotel is new however the floor in our room looks like it wasn't mopped and the mattress could be better overall a decent place to stay for a few nights.
