The property was dirty. There was no toilet paper in toilet. Tv in room didn't work. Entry and exit information wasn't forthcoming. I had to follow up and ask staff. I booked an ensuite room but did not get one. Linen was old. I would not stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Blood stain on the bed, the room stank very badly of cigarettes, squished cockroach in the bathroom, very old and worn bedsheets, very noisy bathroom fan. The room was not secure, no where to store valuables safely. Staff seemed disorganised and though friendly, were often not around or even locked themselves out of the premise on one occasion. Wouldn't stay there again.

hostels are not for me

Hotels.com accepted our booking late at night even tho the latest you could book this particular Hotel was up until 6pm.
We arrived at the hostel and rang the number which didn’t answer and after the second attempt I was advised it’s to late to check in and contacted the Manager who was asleep and after waiting one hour we decided to book another hotel and As we were on our way to that hotel a lady rang half asleep and just said sorry!
It’s very dives looking on the outside and the reviews weren’t that good so I was probably saved from a very bad nights sleep and The Grosvenor Hotel was a much better place!
Now I understand why hostels are so cheap!

The dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed. The lock on the door did not work and the bed was revolting with black spots all over the sheets, completely broken springs, dirty towels, hair and who knows what stick to the sides of the toilet door. This place was worse than any place I’ve stayed in including Europe, south east Asia, and North America, and I’ve stayed in hostels in all these places! It wasn’t clean at all, and I know I’ve mentioned it already but the lock didn’t work! Not to mention trouble with checking in at the start, where the room we were meant to be in wasn’t even free. Truely disgusting.

When girls book into a room they shouldnt be put in share with a male. (Esp when booking with a minor). Making dressing in bathroom a necessity. That person had their stuff all over all beds until i questioned if in right room because of it, so they moved it. Floors were dirty. Mirrors were dirty, then one fell off wall breaking waking us early hours of the morning. One of the toilet door locks didnt work so kept opening while trying to use. Creaky floors along hallway etc which disturbed sleep.

I arrived at 7 am with two suitcases and was waiting for reception opening until 9:40 .before 9:40 i can not go anywhere because there no space to keep my luggage.As for the hostel the room its ok and you like quite place this would be your choice,

The bed cover , pillow have stain and dirty . Should be thrown out. Over used. The room doesn’t seems ever vacuum. I travel around the world never seen such low standard hostel. The owner need to inspect this rooms . I was raally surprised with the conditions.

If you stay there make sure you don't get a room near the balcony to much noise at night time, if you are over 50 and weigh over 90kilos don't get the top bunk

I'd rather sleep on the street

I know you get what you pay for, but if I had to choose between staying here again and sleeping on the street, I'd choose the latter. My room was filthy, and stank of previous inhabitants. Not sure if the sheets had ever been changed. The shared bathroom was disgusting and some of the long term tenants were sketchy, to say the least.
If you must stay here - bring bleach, hand sanitiser and pepper spray.

Paid the fee but refused entry, slept on street.

They refused to let me in and though I had a reference no, they refused to let me in. They took $28 off of me and refused to refund. When I rang the manager he refused to help me. He was not on site. The man who sold me the ticket on the phone said it was a 24 hour business. I had no where else to stay, I tried to sleep on the concrete or anywhere else around adelaide. I would not recommend this business to my dog. :-(

We booked a private double room, they put us in a shared dorm. Without any sort of refund to us, still paid the same price. The room was gross and hadn't been cleaned. It seemed like a lot of people stayed at this hostel long term and it was pretty 'clique-y'. They stayed up blasting music and playing instruments until past midnight. It was a Monday night and we had an early flight. As reception closes in the evening there is no one around to keep things under control. Only stay here as a last resort.

No A/C, very unsanitary kitchen.

One night was long enough to skip sleep entirely because of the lack of air conditioning and worry of my belongings being taken. I did not attempt to use the kitchen in fear many diseases may be lurking in the dirty dishes, counters, sinks and floor. All in all, the place needs some cleanup and repair.

Overall a very very basic and budget place to stay. It is very run down. I stayed in a private room. There was no air conditioning and it was very uncomfortable. Not really value for money. The location is a long way from town so probably oy suitable as a last resort.

Basic backpacker's at the city's edge.

We planned to spend less money and time on accommodation because basically it is for sleep and rest, we'd like to explore the city and its surrounds as much as we can during our 6 days in Adelaide. This place serves the purpose. There is off street parking or car space at the back of the Inn. Outside our ensuite double room is a common area so it gets a bit noisy at night when people congregate for smoking and chatting. The kitchen can get a bit crowded at times and some guests don't wash up afterwards so it does get a bit untidy.

Good bedrooms, bad kitchen

Bedrooms were good and beds comfortable. Not too load at night, most people obeyed the curfew notice, but didnt take notice of the signs in the kitchen to clean up after themselves. Often all of the cutlery and plates were dirty and left all over the place! The kitchen was a bit small as well. Also it would be good if the shower and toilet was seperate, as there was sometimes a long wait to use the loo when someone was taking ages in the shower.

Good for the price but the kitchens not good.

Location is a bit further from the main attractions than other hostels but nice and close to parkland, free buses stop outside and there is free bike hire. The kitchen is very small and always dirty, nobody else ever seems to clean their dishes so i had to eat my breakfast out if a saucepan. Its also a bit annoying that the toilets and showers arent in seperate cubicles, theres sometimes quite a wait just to have a wee.

Great Location with COOL Air con.

Great location in the city, but NO place for parking. It claims that they provide some parking area, but just a very few, coz the owner and some hostel workers use most of the area. Kitchen is so tiny, only one sink, often have 3 or more people waiting for washing dishes. The good is each room has its own air conditioner.

Positives: - city bikes, close to CBD, free internet from library, staff were friendly. Negatives: bedroom light took ~ 1 hr to turn on so had to use lamp. Small kitchen that couldn't have more than 3 ppl at a time. Lounge room used by other guests left in very bad order with used food utensils and old food packages. Noise carried easily between bedrooms -> beware if light sleeper and other guests up late.
